IPhone 5 screen replacement part?

Who and where exactly is the iPhone 5 screen manufactured and what it the part number?
Forget about full replacement, I didn't buy the Apple Care warranty when I ordered from AT&T.
My iPhone 5 still boots, and the touch screen still responds to gestures. (see attached image)
Surely somebody knows somebody, who knows somebody, who actually works for the manufacturer(s) and can get the Apple and/or Manufacturer's part number and where the part(s) is/are assembled. Let's be creative and solve this supply problem.
Please reply with any of the following:
iPhone 5 screen manufacturer(s) and location(s) …
iPhone 5 screen part(s) number(s) …
Linkedin contact ...

There is no "best" as Apple doesn't sell the parts to anyone. Anything you find will either be counterfeit or salvaged from an iPhone that died.
You may want to check ifixit.com as they have guides for repairing various devices and may be able to help.

To replace your phone's screen costs $109US and I don't see why having Apple replace the screen would void your warranty.

  • IPhone Screen Replacement

    Hi.
I dropped my iPhone on the ground a few months ago and the screen cracked. It's been working fine since then. My brother in the mean time dropped his iPhone in the pool and it has ceased to function at all. My question is: do you think his screen is still in working condition and is it possible to swap the glass/digitizer from his and install it in mine? I'm aware this is a difficult process but I would be up for it. Thanks.
    Bryan

Well, if the screen works, it's certainly possible. Your phone could be fixed by Apple for $199. His will probably cost a lot more for apple to replace.
However, you risk completely breaking your phone. Then you'll have problems. Again replacement costs will be much higher than $199.
Anyway, in actuality, the top half of the iPhone (screen, digitizer, and ear piece) is relatively easy to replace, as long as you do all three at once. One the 3G and 3GS, it's the 2 screws at the bottom and a few cables. iFixit.com has nice guides as well as parts.

  • IPhone Screen Replacement Problems

So I recently got my screen replaced by JetCity in Chicago for $140... two days later I dropped my phone and the screen shattered again.  This time I was determined to change the screen myself.  I ordered a new screen, took apart the phone without any kinks, replaced the screen, made sure everything was connected, and put the phone back together.  I turned it on and all I saw was a blue vertical bar across the center of the screen, which stayed there for awhile, until the phone finished booting up and then the phone screen went into standby or whatever.  I can connect the phone to the computer and it's recognized by iTunes, so everything else in the phone appears to be working except the output to the screen.  Thinking it was a faulty replacement screen, I connected my old cracked screen back up, and the same blue bars appeared.  I'm not sure what to do at this point.  If anyone has any clue as to what the problem is, PLEASE tell me.  I've had an iPhone since the original came out and I've been using a $4.99 att goPhone as a replacement and I'm slowly dying while attempting to use it day to day... I'll attach photos of what the phone now looks like when I press the home button to wake it up. Any ideas are MUCH appreciated.

I'll try the firmware restore now, I've tried reseting the connector onto the logic board a few times, and have already tried cleaning the connectors with isopropyll. I figured debris was probably the original cause but since cleaning it didn't work, I just figured the logic board somewhere during the replacement got messed up somehow.  I'll probably just do the exchange if the firmware restore doesn't work. Any other soulutions still appreciated.. but I'm pretty sure theres not much else I can do at this point short of getting a replacement.

  • Got my cracked iphone screen replaced and now my phone has a mind of it's own.

It will select anything at everything at random, I'll text somebody and it will type random letters and send. Or The swipe up/down menus will come up/down and stay. I've liked, unliked, unfriended, unfollowed and sent gibberish to several people and it's very irritating. I can still use my phone to text/call people, but I have to fight with my phone in order to do so and have to deal with sending gibberish along with every message I send and even to people I never intended on texting. The only way I can get it to stop what it's doing and let me use it is to shut my screen off and turn it back on but that method still isn't very effective.
Also I sometimes see several vertical lines going down the length of my screen. They don't move or anything but I'm sure it has something to do with why my phone is acting out. And well my question here is what should I do?

If Apple or an Authorized Apple Service Provider replaced your screen, bring it back to get it fixed again.
If a 3rd party company did the repair, they will have to fix that, Apple will not service phones that have been opened by users or other repair shops.

  • How much is the iphone screen replacement?

i broken my screen, i know that in the apple store in barcelona if you pay 150 euros and give the broken one they give you a new one. Anyone know how does it work in london? If they do this or if they can replace the screen, and how much is it?

    It's comparable in London.

  • Cracked iPhone screen...questions re replacement

Ok Ive had my Verizon iPhone since February...yesterday my worst iPhone fear came true...I dropped my iPhone about 4 ft onto cement in 30 degree weather... Over half the screen was really cracked...I have a 32gb so I think vzw charges a $199 deductible...so I found this shop that replaces cracked iPhone screens...he told me the labor itself would only be about $30-40 but then he looked the part price up in his book up to his iPhone 4 CDMA parts guide & mumbles something like "digitizer" & blah blah then tells me the part would cost $150...I asked him what if I brought him the part would he still did it & just charge for labor...he was very nice and said he would do that.
Then I went online & googled iPhone 4 replacement assemblys & saw them for as low as $25 the I saw some for $55ish but nowhere near $150...is there a legit reason why he would charge this price...is the what an apple OEM screen replacement assembly costs, & I was looking at all non-OEM products? What are the downsides, if any, to replacing the iPhone screen with a non-OEM..are some of the features absent, like the oleophobic coating?
So I guess my question is what does an "iPhone screen replacement" assembly include? Besides the screen itself  & a "digitizer" (not sure what that is) and how do I know which ones are trash out there & which ones are good? Would you advise any non-OEM product at all?
Please give me any info you have on screen replacement packages, & possibly where I can purchase one that won't be garbage. Oh & also if it says it is meant for CDMA model...should I assume it is going to be the glossy version?
    Thanks!

So if I'm clear here you have thus far paid $109.90 for insurance and after paying another $199, for a total of $308.90 Verizon will replace your iPhone? Or, as has already been noted you can pay $149 at an Apple Store and get a replacement with a 90 day warranty.
I have no idea why in the **** you are paying for that insurance. I would talk to a Verizon rep about it before doing anything.
when you put it that way, yeah verizon is totally screwing everyone who has iphone insurance with them
this is right from verizon wireless website:

    Hey everyone,
I'm wondering the difference between these two iPhone 5 screen replacements. One is $50 and the other is $4, so I think I'm missing something...

One is a piece of glass and the other is the entire screen (piece of glass and digitizer).
Neither of them are OEM parts.

If your iPod Touch, iPhone, or iPad is Broken
Apple does not fix iDevices. Instead, they exchange yours for a refurbished or new replacement depending upon the age of your device and refurbished inventories. On rare occasions when there are no longer refurbished units for your older model, they may replace it with the next newer model.
ATTN: Beginning July 2013 Apple Stores are now equipped to do screen repairs/replacements in-house on iPhone 5s. In some cases while you wait. According to Apple this is the beginning of equipping Apple Stores with the resources needed to do most repairs for iPhones, iPads, and iPod Touches that would not require major replacements. Later in the year the services may be extended as Apple Stores become equipped and staffed with the proper repair expertise. So, if you need a screen repaired or a broken screen replaced or have your stuck Home button fixed, call your local Apple Store to see if they are now doing these in-house.

  • When will iPhone 6 replacement screens be available?

Last weekend I dropped my iPhone 6 face down and cracked the screen.  I went to the Apple store on Monday and they didn't have them yet, but said to check back in a week.    I just called apple today and there still not avaible and they didn't know when they would be.    Does anybody have any insight on when they would be available?

We are all fellow users and not Apple employees.  If Apple told you they don't know, there is no way anyone on here would know.  Currently the demand for the new iPhones exceeds the supply so it stands to reason the supply of replacement parts is going to be even more limited.

  • IPhone 6 plus screen replace

I've seen several websites selling the 6 plus LCD glass replacement, and then some that have the digitizer with it as well. Is it possible to buy JUST the LCD glass screen without the digitizer? My touch screen works fine, it's just the glass that is shattered. Any hope?

This is an apple sponsored forum. The iPhone is not user serviceable. Apple does NOT sell iPhone parts, including screens and batteries. The ONLY sources for parts are stolen parts, salvaged parts, and counterfeit parts. Not only does attempting to fix it yourself void the warranty, it forfeits all rights to service or support on that device. Ever.
If the DIY screen replacement doesn't work, Apple won't ever touch that phone again... For that matter, if it DOES work, Apple won't touch that phone if it ever needs service or support in the future.

  • Iphone won't power on after screen replacement

So I've dropped my Iphone 4S once and screen showed blue vertical lines. I replaced the screen for about $120. After 6 months or so I dropped it again and the screen cracked. I decided to replace the screen on my own so I got a new one and replaced it, but the phone doesn't power on after the screen replacement. I plugged it on charger, did a hard reset but still nothing. I plugged it on pc and it was recognized by the itunes! As it was plugged on pc, I did a reboot again and it left itunes as if it was powered on and suddenly powered off. Still plugged in I tried to power it on again, it was recognized again by the itunes but the screen still wasn't working. Another thing is that it burns a lot without even being on charger or on pc, and I need to take the battery off.

Sorry. There's not much we can suggest. Apple won't touch that phone now.
Try looking for advice someplace like ifixit.com.

Since Apple doesn't repair iPhones (they replace them) you will have to take it back to whoever "fixed" it. Since it's been opened by an unauthorized 3rd party, it is no longer eligible for replacement by Apple.
