IPhone 5 service issues in home that I did not have with iPhone 3,3GS, or 4
Both my wife and I have the iPhone 5. I have att between 3 and 4 bars with the LTE showing. It constantly gives me a call failure and I receive texts sometimes hours latter. I did not have this issue with my previous iPhones. My daughters are still using the iPhone 4 and they do not have this issue. Is there anything I can do to resolve this issue?
I can answer a few of these. I don't know about the pause. The battery doesn't surprise me. The new apple devices are infamous for having battery life issues. I don't think there is anything apple can do but if you take it in, you can choose to keep or give up your engraving. Keeping it will extend the repair time by a week or two.

Issues with 4th gen ipod touch that I did not have with 1st gen
Got the 4th gen touch, and right away the most annoying thing was the pause in my music when locking/unlocking the ipod. It is a small pause, but nevertheless my 1st gen touch never had this. Is this an issue with all newer ipods or just me?
The battery is also funky, as it will run down to 3% and then the ipod turns off. Plugging in the ipod to charge turns it back on in a few minutes, as expected, but it always shows 40-42% charged when the unlock screen shows up. Do ipods quick charge to 40% from empty in 10 minutes or so?
Are these things fixable by Apple, and would I lose the engraving on the back?

This is the iPhone hardware forum. It sounds like you need to upgrade the version of iOS on your device, though. Plug it in and click check for updates in iTunes.

You delete content from the iPad and/or update it from iTunes on a computer.
iCloud space is separate from that on the device.

Help! I have tried to set up an iCloud account for my iPhone. However, the final step for verification is to accept terms in the email that was sent to me. The only problem is that the email that was indeed sent to me did not have any place where I COULD accept the terms and so forth.
So now I am stuck! What do I do now? I'd really love to have an iCloud account.

Hi- I just tried to download Adobe rEader and it said that the download was unsuccessful as I did nto have sufficient priviledge.
Download the full installer from http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/ and save it to disk, then close all browser windows and run the downloaded installer.
You must either login to an Adminstrator account to run the installer, or right-click on the downloaded installer and select 'Run as Administrator'. -

Since downloading Firefox 4, I will periodically get black and white horizontal lines that cover about 2/3 of the browser screen. There doesn't seem to be any trend to the website or areas it happens at, and will sometimes happen multiple times while scrolling through a large news article. The lines stay fixed to a certain area. The only way to get them to go away is to refresh the screen or if the page is big enough scroll to an area not affected and then scroll back. I've heard from someone that it might be my graphics card. My computer's a hand-me-down but not terribly old so it could be that the card is just old or bad, any other ideas?

If disabling hardware acceleration works then check if there is an update available for your graphics display driver. -

If you have problems with updating or with the permissions then easiest is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.
Download a new copy of the Firefox program and save the DMG file to the desktop

What is the current software version for an older ipod Touch? We have 4.2.1, which Apple Store says is not the latest.
ThxiOS 4.2.1 is the latest and last version for the 2nd-generation iPod touch. If iTunes isn't showing any further updates for your iPod, I'm guessing that's the model you have. You can confirm here:

You can still download the other movies in iTunes on your computer. Launch iTunes and go to Store>Check for Available Downloads. You can download them in iTunes and then sync them to the iPad later. When you are done watching the first movie, you can transfer it into iTunes on your computer, delete it from the iPad and you will have the room for another movie on the device. To transfer the movie when you are done with it, you can use the transfer purchases feature.

Why do I get timeouts with a GPIB-ENET/100 under Solaris that I did not get with GPIB-ENET.
We have an existing application that works fine under Solaris 2.6 and Solaris 7 with a GPIB-ENET. When we swap the GPIB-ENET with a GPIB-ENET/100, we get devices timeouts all the time.

Unfortunately, it's difficult to determine any possible cause for this occurance. It was mentioned in a previous email that the instrument will communicate for a few commands. When does the timeout happen? What command fails? Also, what type of instrument is connected (make, model, etc)? Is this a timeout from the write or read? What is the distance of the Ethernet from the host? Is it possible that another machine is accessing the GPIB-ENET/100? Would it be possible to include the code that communicates with this instrument? Does ibic or VISAic communicate with the instrument without timeouts?
Hopefully, this information can pinpoint the exact cause of the timeout.

I don't know what the problem is with your corrupt/unopenable document on CD. I wonder if you can display it with QuickLook.
Select the file in Finder and hit the Spacebar. If the file is displayed properly, you can capture it as an image with Grab.app or by Shift-Command-4, > drag capture box.
Not knowing the complexity of your document, it's difficult to say what you should do next. I'd submit the graphics to an OCR application and extract the text, to be used in reconstructing the original document.
