This happened after upgrading to iOS 6.1.
The "slide to unlock" stuck.
I could receive phone, sms, and other notification but can not answer nor reply.
It stuck. This only happened during charging, when I pull the plug, it work normally again.

Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new). Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.

Solution for iphone 3g hanging / freezing during restore!

Well like many other iphone users my little bundle of joy decided it didn't like one of the app updates (happened during the voicenote update) and decided to reboot and get stuck on the apple logo "screen of death".
Firstly i put it into recovery mode (holding power and home button down then restarting while still holding down the home button)
iTunes recognized that it was in recovery mode and that it neeeded to be restored. Good times so far...
Once it restored it then wanted to know if i wanted to load my backup. I really needed this to work as it has all my data, sms, important stuff like that.
So it is happily ticking along restoring from back up and it gets to about 95% done and looks like it freezes. Nothing.... for 1 hour so i get an itchy iphone finger and disconnect it. when it reboots it loads with an incomplete set of apps.
Bad times
So i do the whole process again and not let my itchy iphone finger run amock but after hanging at 95% again for 2 hours i disconnected it again. it reboots (by itself after leaving it for a minute) and when it loads up it still has an incomplete set of apps installed on it but guess what? There were far more installed than the first time i tried with the restore!!
So i did this whole process for a third time but this time i just left it and went to bed. In the morning i woke up to a healthy iphone!!!! GOOD TIMES!
Granted the music and vids are missing etc but i always create a "iphone playlist" so in the event that something like this happens i know i just resync that playlist and everything is sorted.
Moral of the restore and restore from backup story... Don't let the itchy iphone finger get the better of you.Just leave it be, it took a fair few hours and looked like it had frozen at 95% but it got there in the end. Unless you get an actual error with the update/restore just be patient and let it do it's thing.
I think it looked like it was freezing / hanging as it was reinstalling all the apps back on the iphone(i have a fair few).
I now have my bundle of joy back and all is well.... for now.
Beware of the itchy iphone finger!

You were right - waiting solved the "freezing" of the restore process. It didn't even take much longer than two or three hours this time (maybe because I already had a couple of hours done the time before?).
Sadly my problem wasn't solved, but I guess that was because the backup itself was faulty.
Apple should really not automatically replace a good backup - especially not after a restore that could be broken (because a part of iTunes crashed, for example, which did happen to me already twice out of two times I started a restore "project").

Iphone 3gs keeps freezing during calls

I have just received a replacement iphone 3GS running version 4.3.2 software. This was a replacement from Apple just over a week ago. This new phone keeps freezing and returning to the apple start screen approx. 5mins into phone calls.

Hold the lock button/ Home button until the apple logo appears this is a hard reset, no data will be lost.
If that fails,
Update the iPhone in iTunes to iOS 4.3.3

IPhone 6 powers off during charging

I charge my 6 while I sleep. Three days ago, my alarm didn't wake me in the morning. Come to find out, my phone was powered off and the only way to wake it was to hold both power buttons like a hard reboot. That first day, the battery was not fully charged when I finally figured out how to wake it. The next night, I woke in the middle of the night and checked it- it was off again. I restarted it and the battery was at 100%. I left it plugged in and in the morning it was off again. The third night, I switched chargers and when I woke in the middle of the night it was off. I restarted it and unplugged it from the wall charger. In the morning it was still on. So this is happening only with the charger plugged in. Is there a setting that I'm missing or is this a defect??

actually i am updating from itunes. but the 2 logos stays ... and like i've said, it restarting, back to logo, restarting again, back to logo again, and still... the update indicator in itunes shows that i will have to wait another 63 minutes now to complete the downloading. it is moving, slowly

No, there isn't any setting that you are missing. Have you tried force closing FaceTime, and resetting your iPad?
In order to close FaceTime, you have to drag the app up from the multitasking display. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the app that you want to close and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
If that does not make a difference, you could try resetting all settings, if you reset all settings you will have to enter all of the device preferences again in the settings app. That takes some time to accomplish, but you will not lose my data, media, apps or anything like that. Settings>General>Reset>Reset all settings.
If that doesn't help, the next step would be to restore the iOS software. Backup your iPad first, restore the iOS, then restore the backup.

I'm glad I have this opportunity to share a solution to the iPhone 4 slide to unlock freeze problem. Some perliminary informatiom: iOS 5.1, 5.7 GB free on a 16 GB phone (no space issues). The phone froze on almost all of the unlock attempts. No backup and restore were attempted.
My solution: during my investigation I've tried to access the Passcode Lock (Settings -> General) and the phone froze for a few moments and sometimes returned to the home screen. I have managed to access the Passcode and turned the passcode off. After this I reset the passcode to something different and re-enabled passcode on. Since then there are no issues. If there is a DB it must have gone corrupted, resetting probably re-wrote the passcode. Hope this helps, though nothing is deffinitive.

This caused me to think that something might be causing the phone to freeze while connecting to the 3g network.... or maybe there is a data packet lingering around that is causing the issue. Whatever it is, I decided that I'd reset "network settings" only.
I reset network settings and the problem has gone away. Now, regardless whether I'm on 3G or wifi, the phone no longer freezes during swipe to unlock as reported in this thread.
I'm going to re-install my grand theft auto game and bring down my availabe space to 730 mb again. Hopefully it all works as expected. If it doesn't, I'll report it, else it's all good to go.

IPhone 4 slide to unlock freezes

When I slide to unlock the slider itself freezes at the far side for around 10 seconds before getting to the Enter Passcode screen or it freezes after entering the passcode and I just get the wallpaper for around 10 seconds before all of the apps appear.
It started intermittently a few days ago and has become increasing common so that it's near enough every time I unlock now. Does any one have any ideas what's wrong and how to fix it?
I have a 4 week old iPhone 4 (32GB) running iOS 5.0.1.

Possibly faulty charger. The supplied Apple Charger is covered by the iPhone Warranty. Make Genius reservation or set up service and take or send iPhone and Charger to Apple for resolution.

My iPhone 4 keeps freezing about 60% way through a restore, according to iTunes when the firmware is being updated. Any ideas how to fix? I have tried a different computer, disabling my security software etc. and still no luck :o( (Windows)

I was doing exactly what you suggested for hours prior to posting my question. I tried restoring, I tried restore/update over and over and it would always freeze between 25-75% through. I restarted my laptop 20 times, uninstalled and reinstalled itunes 4 times. Finally, today I was so frustrated that when I saw it freeze up one more time, I just pulled the power cord out of my laptop and walked away. An hour later I booted back up and set it to restore before I left the room and ....magic, it finally worked. Whether the unplug event had any real connection, I don't know.
If anyone does freeze during an update and has the "connect to itunes screen with the red itunes logo" stuck on their iphone screen, modular 747 is correct. Just keep trying the restore/update through itunes, but be prepared to do it non-stop for almost 72 hours like I did.

That is not good but lets see if we can get it back to life. If you can, see if you can put your iPhone into recovery mode and then use iTunes to restore it. If you can get it to restore, it will erase everything off your iPhone. If you have a back up in iTunes or iCloud then you can put that on after the restore is complete.
