Iphone 5 songs skip

I updated my iPhone 4 and it had no problems but I got my iPhone 5 and put all of my songs on there and some of the songs are broken or there are imperfections and then some times I'll play song 1 or 10 in a list and I'll watch it count fast like I'm skipping songs but very fast all the way to 10 then contuniue  onto the next album and not play one song in there. This ONLY happened on songs that I have purchased through my iPhone from iTunes. Songs that have been added outside of my iPhone work fine. Why is this doing this help please!!!
Thank you,
Jon

UPDATE
I restored from iCLoud and BEFORe hooking up to iTunes (to get my 29GB os music I had to (manually) download the 970 songs I had purchased from iTunes. This took a while. But once that was done I plugged into iTunes only to be told that there wasnt enough space left on my iPhone for it.
I have a look and now my Camera roll is too large to fit on there with my Music!! So I have had to iPhoto my camera roll, then move them into Photo Stream (all in iPhoto) so that they are avaialble on my iPhone Photo Stream.
Then sync my music with iTunes.
There are now inconsistancys with the data thats on my iPhone and how much space is avaialble.
They needed to have nailed this before releasing iOS6. Very annoying.
Thanks
Mark

  • IPhone 3G songs skipping, freezing and generally playing up.

I listen to my songs everyday on the way to and from work. And up until two days ago everything was working great.
*Now, this may sound weird but, my songs start to skip or freeze or sound like an old LP on 78rpm.*
Now the weird bit is that it is not the same song each time and it does not happen all the time.
Info: iPhone 3G, Software Version 3.1.3, iTunes 9.0.2
I am hoping that Apple support staff can assist please.

Oh, yeah thats what my iTunes is going through as well, i find it really annoying, its been going on for couple of hours now. i just can't figure out why? + when i log-in the graphics became bigger, i mean really big,,, the new sh*tty Genius playlist is the worst thing since DRM... LOL (maybe)
Sure the iTunes 8 is much better than before, *but with new features, comes new bugs*
When will Apple learn??? just release a final product & a problem free version of iTunes!
You guys made history with iPod & iPhone... so why's it that you guys can't get a music software to work properly!

Try deleting all the Music on the phone and re-syncing:

  • Why do many songs on my iPhone 5 keep skipping?

Why do many songs on my iPhone 5 keep skipping?  I do not have iTunes Match.  I have the latest software update: iOS 6.0.2.  I legally own the songs that keep skipping.  I have heard this is a glitch in the operating system but that does not seem right.  Can anyone help?

I feel compelled to come onto this forum and post in answer to the song skipping issue.  I had exactly the same problem and FIXED IT!!  WOO WOO!
I splashed out on a brand new iPhone S 32GB to hold my massive music library - specifically because I want all my music portable.  Copied all my music across from my old music library which was a mixture of ripped CDs, old iTunes music and music purchased from Zune, the Microsoft music store (previous phone was a Windows phone). Synced the new iPhone to iTunes and started listening.  And quickly realised some of my favourite albums had skipping tracks.
Tracks would start playing, then about 1 minute before the end, would skip to next track while still showing previous track as playing.
Here's how I fixed this maddening issue:
    1. Make sure iPhone is not connected to computer.  On iPhone, go to Settings/General/Useage.
    2. Select Music under Storage and click to view All Music.  Then, keeping your finger on the right of the screen, slowly drag your finger left the 'All Music' item until you see a red button with 'Delete' on it.  Click Delete to wipe all music entirely from iPhone.
    3. Then, in iTunes, systematically go to each problem album with skipping tracks.  Delete them all from iTunes.  This is a bit annoying as you might have to listen to all of them to determine which ones have skipping tracks.  In my case, it was all the albums copied from Zune.
    4. Staying in iTunes, go to File/Add Folder to Library and then manually add each album folder back one by one. You should find them in the 'My Music' folder on your computer's hard drive (I have a PC), usually sorted by artist. If you have more than one album by the same artist, open the artist folder and add each album folder seperately one by one.  This should reload the songs properly back to iTunes. It's important to load them one at a time back into iTunes - when I tried to bulk add, the skipping problem just kept recurring when I synced.
    5. Then connect iPhone back to iTunes.  Resync your Library.
    Songs should hopefully work!
Note: My songs always played properly on iTunes and it was only on the iPhone that they skipped.  I believe the problem was that they weren't being fully 'read' properly by iTunes, in a way that allowed them to copy entirely to the iPhone.  There must have been some information missing during initial syncing.
    Hope this helps!

  • Re: Songs skipping after downloading from iTunes

I am having problems with the songs skipping when I use itunes to play them on my computer. I have deleted them and redownloaded. It does not fix the problem. What do I do next?

    Hello, cajunkiwi.
Thank you for the question.  There are a couple options to help you with this.  If limited purchased media skips only on the iPhone, then delete the affected content and download it again free of charge via the purchased section of the iTunes Store.  If almost all of your media library skips on the iPhone only, remove all music from the device by removing the preference to sync music.  After this has been completed, restore the sync music preference to place the media back on the the device.  Below are a couple articles that will walk you through this process.

  • Song skips after 16 seconds to the next one

I bought a song in Itunes, but when I try to play it on my Imac the song skips after 16 seconds to the next one. I have this problem only on my Imac. The same song works on my iphone and can be played till the end.
I already checked the song information where you can set stopping points but there's no stopping point for this song set. I also aren't able to download the song again. So how can I fix this proplem?

  • Tracks on my iphone keep jumping/skipping

    Dear All,
Since receiving my new iPhone 4 (16GIG) tracks have been jumping/skipping.
These are random songs, audiobooks, and even video.
If I remove all songs and fill the phone videos, sync the iPhone, remove the videos and then replace the songs, different songs start skipping.
I have reset my iPhone, repeatedly, rebuilt my settings from from scratch but the songs keep skipping
It looks to me as though the hard drive either has bad sectors or is just damaged, especially as different songs skip each time I remove/replace them.
Has this happened to anyone else and do I need to get a replacement iPhone.
    Best Regards
    G

Good guess, but there is no hard drive, the iPhone uses flash memory.
Check Settings > iPod > Shake to Shuffle.
    Is it turned on??????
Also, are you listening to music through the speakers, headphones, or bluetooth headset?
I have found when listening via bluetooth headset that audio will "skip" or "pause" anytime the connection between the headset and device is lost for a split second.  Also, having the device set to mute will cause all audio to pause anytime a text, email, or push notification activates

  • Songs skipping like scratched cd in iTunes 10.6 why and what is the fix

Hi, I use my MacBook pro to play backing tracks for my live show. I am working in Greece in the outdoors at night. Since the beginning of the summer iTunes has been skipping like mad during gigs Not Good. I don't remember when I upgraded my iTunes but don't recall having the problem last year when I started using the MacBook. I have searched the net and have found many a kindred soul suffering skipping songs.
    What gives?
    What I have tried:
1- I have disabled the sudden movenmt sensor thinking it might be a Bass Response issue. However, still does it.
2- bought a DJ rack to elevate the computer thinking it might be a heat issue. Nope.
3- got rid of all start up items, closed airport, netshred, etc.
4- changed the setting on Perian from Dolby stereo to stereo, and then I uninstalled it. Nope
5- I use the apogee duet live and I get skips. Tried it without the duet and it's worse.
    What I am running-
    MacBook Pro
    Lion X 10.7.4
Processor- 2.66 Ghz Intel Core i7
    Memory- 8GB 1067 MHz DDR3
    1TB SATA HD
I hope someone can help. I spent a lot of money for my MacBook and don't want to go back to the PC.
    Thanks

    Hi, Clinton,
Now I think that I have officially tried everything short of taking out the HD and replacing it..
I have used the removable drive and still got the problem.. However, I noticed that the skipping only happens on my Backing Tracks and the same ones, which then told me that the tracks became corrupted. So I re-encoded 2 of the tracks using Garageband and Others I just replaced with new versions..
It worked great for 2 gigs and I was chuffed to bits.. However, I needed the third gig to make it a go and then BLAMMO one of the re-encoded songs skips... My 4th gig I get a new addition to the skipping...
Something is wrong and it is doing my head in.. Do you have any other suggestions aside from going back to my Cheapie Windows Notebook that never skipped?

  • Songs skipping like scratched cd on iTunes and MacBook pro

Posted this on iTunes and no response. I would really appreciate a reply from Apple as I not only paid loads for my MacBook, but crowed like mad how much better the Mac would be than a PC for doing music live. I am seriously disappointed and a bit embarrassed.

I recently installed an upgrade to my Ipod Classic.  I then installed some new Cd's.  Now some of these songs skip.  How can I fix this?

If you cannot remember the passcode for the Screen Lock, you will need to Restore the device...
    1)  Connect to iTunes on the computer you usually Sync with and Restore...

    2)  If necessary Place the Device into Recovery mode...

  • Upgraded to 10.6.1.17 and now purchased songs skip

So I upgraded a couple days ago and have noticed that certain songs skip before the song is finished, anywhere from 60-20 seconds before the end of the song.  The only songs I've noticed this on are purchased from the iTunes Store.
Crossafde is off and when I look at the songs the start and stop times are unchecked, but show the correct times?  Seems to have been an ongoing issue for lots of users over the years, but I can't seem to find a solid answer?
Or how can I go through and force iTunes to re-download my purchased songs?  It seems to think that as long as I have them I'd never need to download/replace them?
    Thanks!

    Clay & David,
I had the same issue. Spent hours downloading, reinstalling and restarting. No luck. Found Ian.Gilmore's solution posted in Feb 2009 (Ian you are a saint). You use the Epson user interface to configure your network. Verbatim instructions are below. Press the "Home" button on the Workforce 600 interface panel. "Search SSID" brought up the name of my network and I used it rather than "WPA-PSK (TKIP)"
    Here is Ian's solution:
"I was having the same issue. The Epson Software couldn't find the printer when it was connected via ethernet to my computer. I instead went through the actual printer UI and chose: Setup > Network Settings > Wireless LAN Setup > Manual Wireless LAN Setup > Infrastructure Mode > Search SSID > WPA-PSK (TKIP)
Once the printer connects to the network you can simply add it via Print & Fax."

  • Every song skips once during play, for ~0.5 seconds; weird box?!

For some reason, ever since I installed a new hard drive in my MacBook Pro and transferred the user account from the old to the new, whenever an song is playing in iTunes it will freeze the song for less than a second and then continue playing.
It is as if the song is on a CD, and the CD skips hesitantly then picks back up; very strange.
During this blip, an unknown modal dialog window pops up with no information and then promptly disappears. I wish I could get a screenshot, but it is so quick there is no way to get it in time.
Any clues? My library is still in exactly the same place as before, under the same username (checked in settings, everything is fine).

I'm having a similar issue. I got a new MBP and used my iPod as the transfer device to move my iTunes folder from one computer to the next. Some songs skip for a fraction of a second (and it will do this at the same time each time you try to play the song) and other times it will play anywhere from 4 to 30 seconds of a song and then skip the rest and move on to the next song. I do NOT have any widgets or plugins installed. This is a new unmolested MBP!
This is driving me nuts! I've resorted to listening to kcscradio.com in the iTunes radio section...its a great station but still...I'd appreciate it if iTunes would work properly.
