IPhone 5 stops charging
iPhone 5 stops charging after a minute. It's been a bit temperamental for a while. Earlier today I removed a big piece of dust/tissue from the charging point. Is there any thing I should be doing. Or do I need to take it to the local apple store.
Your comment about it being a bit tempermental is not the most helpful but it does sound like a trup to the Apple Store is called for. Call and make an appointment.

Why does iphone stop charging at 100%?
I leave my phone plugged into the charger all night because I use one of the many alarm clock apps as my clock/alarm clock. Each morning, though, the battery is charged only to about 93-96% (presumably because when it hit 100% it stopped charging, but the alarm clock drained the battery).
Is there a way to have the phone resume charging if it dips below 100%?
Thank you.Hi M to the C: Yes indeed the battery does stop charging at 100%. No damage will be done by leaving the charger attached. I leave my charger attached whenever I am near an AC outlet.

iPhone stops charging a few seconds after being connected to a USB slot, it will charge when switched off is I think it must be a software issue.
HAve you tried using a different power chord? If the power chord is not the issue, it could be the power supply inside your mac.

My iPad Mini and my iPhone 4s stopped charging on the same day when plugged into an outlet if they are turned on. My phone charged as long as it was turned off and it will charge when pluged into an USB port,

a restore first with back up then as new ,as required

If your device has been jailbroken during the warranty, Apple will not service it.

This is false. With lithium-based batteries like the one in the iPhone, there is no need to run the battery down before charging it (in fact, that's not the best thing for the battery - they 'like' frequent, light use). You are (incorrectly) applying advice for an older battery chemistry (nickel-based). -
IPhone 4 recently stopped charging.
So I've had my iPhone 4 for a while now and just recently (tonight) it stopped charging. I plugged it into my friends charger and it very slowly started loosing battery life. So I tried my charger and it just constantly shows the "charging" icon. It's not a matter of which charger because it has been used with many different chargers before. Any suggestions?

This *****...Syncing would have no affect on the ability for the battery to charge. What you describe with the car charger makes me wonder if there is something caught in the connector area of the phone. Try blowing that out with some compressed air. You can also take a soft toothbrush and brush the connector area slightly. Try another cable with the device and try connecting it individually to both the wall charger and then the USB on the computer and see if it will charge with either one.

I have the same problem with a brand new 1 month old iphone 4S.
It was perfect then last night I had this issue of not charging or not even recognizing that it was plugged in to charge. I have tried everything from a hard reset to trying different cables and outlets but o change. I am back to my old Nokia now and it kinda hurts. Quite the downgrade

It sounds like you purchased an Apple charger for your phone at another retailer and it has stopped working. According to the following link your Apple charger has a 1 year warranty:

I would first try the steps in the following article before seeking service. If it comes down to that, there is also a link to contact us:
Inspect the connector at the bottom of the phone:
Make sure that there are no bent pins in the connector.
Make sure that the connector is free from debris.
If there are bent pins or debris, please contact Apple Support.
Otherwise, continue troubleshooting.
Make sure that the outlet you're using works.
Make sure that the Apple USB cable and Apple USB power adapter work.

Iphone 5 stopped charging and playing music through usb in my 2012 Chevy sonic after iOS 8.1 update. Several friends have same problem. Hard reset didn't help. Help???
Fixed it. It is on Chevrolet's end. Press config to access the configuration settings. Turn menu/tune knob to highlight vehicle settings. Press menu/tune to select the vehicle settings menu. Choose return to factory settings.

Hello,
Last night my iphone would randomly stop charging and vibrate everytime I made a sudden movement. Today, it has stopped charging all together. It is very low on battery, and the phone is only a few months old since I recently upgraded. I never had this issue with my other phones, and didn't have it on this phone until I installed the iOS7.0.2 update.
The pop-up message when it stopped charging each time was "This accessory may not be supported."

I called apple support because my iphone 5 charger stopped working and they said they would send me a new charger but why do they need credit card information if every apple product has 1 year warranty?

Sound like they did what is called an express replacment. What apple does is they put a hold on your Credit Card for the amount of the cord because they are sending you the cord first. Then, once you receive the new cord in about 2-3 days, you'll put the defective cord in the box and ship it back out and when they receieve the defective one, they'll be able to remove that hold from you card.
I believe the reason behind the hold on your card is incase you don't return your defective one to them so they can find out the cause of the issue.
An Apple Retail Store could swap them out for you in store incase you happen to be near one. This requires no hold.
