Iphone 5 taking pictures in wrong size like an iphone 4

Can somebody help? My new iphone 5 started to act like an 4 (haha!!). When i film videos it's in the right image size but when i photograph, the pictures doesnt shows over the hole screen (becomes black "stripes" on the top and the bottom). I dont know whats happend becasue i havent done anything in the settings!

It's weird becasue it didnt become in that size yesterday or the days before. When i film and then take a photo its in the "right" size (over the whole screen)!! But maybe you're right though, it's just strange that it wasn't so earilier!!

  • If the iPhone 3G is the same size as the iPhone 3G-S....

If the iPhone 3G-S is the same size as the iPhone 3G; can I use the same Incase Slider Case or do I have to buy a new case?

The size of the iPhone 3GS is identical to the iPhone 3G.
If you check the size and weight for both via this link, they are identical except for the weight. The weight of the iPhone 3GS is slightly more than the iPhone 3G.

  • Taking picture with the back camera causing iphone to reboot

    Hi,
I've purchased a brand new Iphone 4, whenever I try to take picture with the back camera, it causes the Iphone to reboot. I tried rebooting it multiple time, resetting all the settings, but it doesnt solve it.
Any Idea on how to solve this ?

If a Reset and a Restore from backup and as a new iPhone or not from backup does not resolve these two issues, time to give AppleCare a call, or make an appointment at an Apple Store if there is one nearby.

    Hello TheGyzmo,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
It looks like your might have signed up for iTunes Match.
    Good to know
When you enable iTunes Match on your iOS device, the music library on your iOS device will be deleted and replaced with your music in iCloud.
Syncing music with iTunes will be disabled while iTunes Match is enabled on your iOS device.
By default, when you add an iOS device to iTunes Match, the option to download over a cellular network isn't enabled1. To enable downloading over a cellular network for iTunes Match, choose Settings > iTunes & App Stores > Use Cellular Data > On.
When you use iTunes Match on an iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac, or PC, it will be associated with the Apple ID you use for iTunes Match. Learn more about subscribing to iTunes Match.

What I suggest is that you move your music from your old laptop to your new one by following the steps below:
iTunes: How to move your music to a new computer
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4527
After that, you can then add iTunes match on your computer, or turn off iTunes Match on your iPhone, and then sync your iPhone as you would normally with your new computer.

  • Spot on the photos- while taking pictures from Iphone 4s against bright light.

    Hello,
I am using the iPhone 4s.. n i have noticed lately that i get a spot on the photos while taking pictures from iphone 4s against light/bright light.  If I take a normal photo with the lens not facing directly to the light, I dont get the spot.  I have attached some of d pics taken by me both against the direct sunlight and one against the night street lights.  Please let me know if this is a minor issue or shall I get it replcaed..
    Appreciate your help in advance.
    Happy New Year 2012.
    Thanks
    Prakash

There may be something corrupt in your camera roll, or a photo you saved from an email, text message or from the internet preventing them from importing.  You might try transferring them wirelessly to your computer using an app like PhotoSync.  If they transfer successfully, delete them from camera roll then take a new photo and see if iPhoto will import it now.

  • Iphone (original model) not taking pictures

My Iphone isn't taking pictures anymore. When I snap a picture, it looks like it is storing it but when I go to look at the photo gallery, all the images are blank. When I plug in the phone to sync it, it doesn't trigger my computer's software to download the images.
    Thanks.

Yes, I am experiencing the same problem as are many iPhone camera addicts. There are quite a few threads on this issue here on the Apple Support board and although I have not heard anything I am sure Apple is aware of this issue.
Several people including my self have had their iPhone replaced at the Apple store because of this issue only to find it was a software issue and not hardware. Sit tight, I believe the next update will fix this and several other nagging problems that has cropped up recently.

  • I cannot figure out how to change the photo size on my iPhone 5s.  I was given the choice of small, medium or large the first time I took a picture.  Now I have no idea how to change it to medium.  Can anyone help?

I cannot figure out how to change the photo size on my iPhone 5s.  The first time I took a pic it asked if I wanted smalll,  medium or large and listed the pixels.  I chose small but am now finding that is too small.  Can anyone help me set it to medium now?  I can't find any setting for that.  I'm a newby to iPhones and have no idea what I'm doing.  Thanks for any help you can offer.

By "sending" do you mean sending email?
If so, what app are you using to take the photos on your iPhone 5? Or are the photos from a different source (saved to your Camera Roll from somewhere else, like a web page or Messages)?
My guess is that Mail gives you the option to send different file sizes when it detects you are trying to Mail a really large photo file. The size of photos on the iPhone 5 is really big and some email providers may stop your mail from being delivered if attachments are too large. Thus, Mail tries to help you by offering to resize the photo.
I suspect that if you are sending smaller files, Mail does not bother giving you options to save a smaller version. In fact, I have seen this behavior. So, if the photo is already "small enough", it gets sent as-is.
To my  knowledge, there is no global iOS setting for this. Some apps may have different rules, of course.

  • After my friend locked me out of my iPhone with too many wrong passwords I restored my iPhone and now it is showing that picture of a cable leading towards itunes and itunes says the sim is not supported but it is the original sim. How do I fix this?

After my friend locked me out of my iPhone with too many wrong password attempts I restored my iPhone via recovery mode and now it is showing that picture of a cable leading towards itunes, and itunes says the sim is not supported but it is the original sim. How do I fix this?

Something went wrong with the update, this can and does happen with every version of iOS.
There is nothing wrong with the update.
Simply restore the device via iTunes on the computer.
If iTunes is stating it will take hours to update, that indicates an extremely slow Internet connection and is likely the reason the OTA update failed.

  • When taking pictures with my iPhone 4S with flash the pictures are blue

When taking pictures with my iPhone 4S and when I use the flash the pictures come out blue but wen I don't use the flash the pictures come out great. Can someone please answer my question to why that is happening

Do you have a case on your phone? Many cases get a reflection from the sides and bleed light over the picture.
The flash is naturally green/blue colour anyway..so it could be just that.

  • Iphone V1 taking picture in red

The camera of my iphone is taking pictures in red/purple.
Even before shooting picture just when I run the camera the camera is showing everything as if a there's an effect over it (same thing for token picture.)
all other applications are working vey well.
My Iphone is V1(US), upgraded to firmware 2.0 recently.
Does any one knows how to resolve this?

I don't know that there are any good solutions but this has been asked before. You can do a forum search and see if you find anything helpful. Here is one thread on the matter:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=7883756&#7883756
Also, the newest software is 2.0.2. It may be a good idea to update.

  • Why can't we see the details of a picture or video taken with our iphone or Ipad? Detail like when it was taken the picture or when the movie was filmed. I think that this very very important for our memories.

Yes, I know that, but it was easier to see it on the Iphone self, like the other company phones. The name of the picture taken should be the date when it was taken.

  • How would a software update fix iPhones taking yellow pictures?

I am one of the unlucky owners of a yellow picture taking iPhone 4. I have read seveal other threads where people say that hopefully this can be fixed in a software update. Pardon my lack of iPhone prowess but I was just wondering, wouldn't writing a universal software update to fix the problem in one phone then change the software in a properly working phone, in turn potentially causing problems in those phones? In other words, how would they write a software fix that would KNOW which iPhone needed the correction while not impacting the iPhones that are already working fine?

I think all iP4's have this issue but it depends on the lighting. I have tested this on my phone and seven others. Outside in sunlight (about 5500K lighting) it works fine and white balance is very good. Under my Modeling Lights (3200K) still very good but when you get down to low wattage (40 watts) incandescent lighting (2500K) photos are very yellow. I think all iP4's suffer from this, at least the seven that I tested including my own. A software update can fix the way the white balance is corrected.

  • Can we Zoom while taking pictures by the iPhone 3 GS camera?

    Hello Friends,
I have a very simple query, that I am not being able to get answer to !
Can we Zoom in while taking pictures by I phone 3GS camera?
I couldn't find any specification in the User guide about the same.
    Pls reply.
    Thanks a lot !
    regards

As already provided, the iPhone includes a fixed lens and does not include a digital zoom feature. Although there are some 3rd party apps that provide for a digital zoom, you can accomplish the same with photo viewing/editing software on your computer after importing a photo that was captured by your iPhone.

Thanks it resloved my question, but Apple has made it more complicated it was so much easier to just press the edit button and select messages to be deleted. Now its cumbersome to delete several messages. Apple should give us back the edit button.
