  • IPhone 5 Brightness setting changes randomly...

Hi im not sure if this was by design in the new iPhone 5 but my brightness setting randomly changes once in a while and even on one time the setting bar automatically moves by itself...
Is this a hardware or software issue?

Turn off auto-brightness if you do not want it to do this.

  • IPhone Date & Time keeps changing to "Cupertino"  time zone

    Hi
Every time i change my Time Zone in Settings>General>Date & Time to "London,United Kingdom" it correctly changes to "London" but if i exit Settings and navigate back to Time Zone settings it has changed to "Cupertino".
This effects World Clocks and other apps which is most annoying.
I have firmware 2.0(5A345) installed on the iPhone. Is there a way to upgrade this? Will i lose all my current data if i do a firmware upgrade? Will it even fix the issue?
Please help, there are currently 2 options I have. Find a fix or move to Cupertino so that my iPhone displays the correct time.
Is there a less drastic option?
    Thanks in advance!

If i do that it states that i am running the current version. Maybe because it is a revision and not a proper update.
My twin brother also has the the version that you have (54347).
Apparently it updates the firmware when you do a "Restore" through itunes but that will wipe the phone clean of everything. I don't mind doing this as long as i can transfer my backed-up content but if i do a "Restore from backup" to tranfer all my settings etc i have a feeling it will revert it back to the firmware that the iphone was running when it was backed up. Hope that makes sense!
    Thanks

  • IPhone auto time setting error

    Hi,
    I have a problem with my iPhone 4 (iOS7) with T-mobile plan.
From few hour ago, my phone keep setting another timezone (not random, always the same one).
I really did my best to fix it like below :
    - setting > general > date and time > turn off and turn on the automatic setting : it was changed to right time zone, but after 30 seconds, it returned to the wrong time zone
    - setting > general > reset > network reset : the same result
    - settint > general > reset > location and warning reset : the same result
    - reboot the phone (with sleep mode button + home button, sleep mode button only) : the same result
    - syncing with mac book which has a right time zone setting : not working
I've lost now. What should I do?
I don't want to set it manually everytime I move. Help me.

    Try this reset ...
Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings

  • Proxy setting changes automatically

I have multiple wifi connection and some have proxy, some don't have.
I am using Lenovo access connection software for switching between these proxies and in firefox proxy set as use system proxy settings. still some times it automatically switches to manual proxy settings and takes value of one of the proxy settings.
pl suggest me a way to avoid such automatically change of proxy settings in firefox.

If you change the Network settings to Auto-detect proxy, does the manual proxy still get used when it is not supposed to?

  • IPhone 5c time not changing

My wife and I decided to change from sprint to verizon 20 days ago. We both got the new iPhone 5c's. Over the last week I noticed my phones time would be off by couple minutes, sometimes a few hours. My wife went to the verizon store and the customer service rep was very short with her and said it was an apple problem. I decided to do my own research. I found more people that had this problem and they found out it is a Verizon problem. I have had the phone less then 30 days. Mean while my wife's phone works great. I have been close to being late to work due to the time not being right. I have tried the hard reset and made sure my software is up to date. Not sure what to do next. Any help would be great!!!!!!

Thanks for checking the software on your phone Knine00. The hard reset should have resolved the issue. Do you have any apps downloaded that specifically work with the time on your device? If so, please uninstall it. If you still have issues with the time, you can also take your phone to a corporate store location or Apple store for a hands on evaluation. You may want to visit a store when you see the time is off. The last step would be replacement of the phone if its still under warranty and has no damage.

  • IPhone Wallpaper - timer set?

    Hey all,
okay I know this is kind of trivial but I was hoping to see if there is a way to, when the iphone turns on (the screen where you have the wallpaper shown and you have to unlock it by sliding your finger across it) if there is a way to not have that screen dim down within the 5-7 seconds, and perhaps stay lit up longer?
The reason? ok Ill admit, I kind of like the wallpapers I have been putting on my iPhone and it just looks so fancy, but they arent shown for very long...

you cannot do this, that is the answer.

  • The date and time setting go crazy[SOLVED]

    Hello,
Each time, I boot up the time setting changes. Sometime two hours behind, sometimes five. Even if I set the time and date by using the "date -s" command or kde time setting feature when reboot the time changes.
Any idea how to fix this for good?
    Thanks,

    Thanks for all the suggestions.
This what happened. From some strange reasons the system clock setting and the distro setting were different. The bios clock was two hours before the distro clock. I adjusted the bios clock to real time—to correct time thinking this will set the disto time to the correct time too. Rebooted and I was put on the commandline with an error message:"superblock last mount time Thu Nov 19 11:41:29 2009, now=Thu Nov 19 10::53:27 2009 is in the future"
Then I entered the root password and did a "fsck" and rebooted. It booted up fine
but the distro time setting was still wrong. Rebooted again and checked the bios clock and it was reset to the distro clock. Both were wrong but at least have the same settings. Then I boot up again and set the time to the right setting in KDE. Rebooted and checked the bios clock which was adjusted to the distro setting—in other words to the correct settings. Now the time is ok. So it seems that the bios setting depends on the distro setting. I thought it was the other way around.
My computer is relatively new, 2 years old, so I dont think this was a battery problem. Also, I have other distros installed and I haven't experienced these kinds of problems with those distros.
Lately, I experimented with a few distros on different partitions, and what I am suspecting is that those might reset the bios clock which caused the inconsistencies in Kde.

  • The time on my iphone 5C is constantly changing, regardless of me setting the correct time manually or automatically, all iOS is up to date and phone is not damaged, any ideas?

The time will stay correct for an hour or so, then jump backwards for no reason. I have tried setting the time manually and automatically and still get the same problem, and have tried with wifi on and off and it still does it. All my software is up to date and tried contacting EE who said to ask Apple. Phone is about 11 months old and have had no previous problems.

    Hi jennehbear,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
Your time jumping backwards an hour sounds like an issue with the time zone. Take a look at this article to troubleshoot the issue.

  • TS2784 I have set my iphone5 time settings to automatic New York time. Throughout the day the clock keeps changing times on its own by hours. Sometimes in is correct. Sometimes it is wrong.

I have set my iphone5 time settings to automatic at New York time. Throughout the day the date and time on the phone keeps changing on its own and often by a few hours. Sometimes it goes to the correct time. Sometimes it is way out. Is there something wrong with my settings?

This is a known issue with the iPhone 5. Turn off the automatic time setting for the time being. It will most likely be corrected in an upcoming update to iOS if the tech press is to be believed.

  • Is there a way to automatically change tabs with different times set for each tab?

I found a few add-ons that will automatically change tabs based on a configurable time. But all the tabs use the same time setting. What I need is the ability to have tabs displayed for different amounts of time. Ex, Tab 1 for 30 seconds, Tab 2 for 10 seconds, Tab 3 and 4 for 5 seconds. Ideally, I will have the ability to modify these settings as the amount of tabs and the content will change a couple times a week.
Currently I'm using Tab Slideshow with each tab displayed for 15 seconds. But it sounds like Tab Rotate and Auto Toggle Tabs essentially do the same. If there is already a solution that would be great but if not is there someone available for hire to help modify one of the existing add-ons? Thank you in advance for your time.

Currently Firefox don't have any options like that.

  • IPhone calendar appointments set to local calendar, and need to switch to exchange calendar. Have to edit each appointment one at a time and change to exchange calendar. Is there any method to edit all appoints in my calendar at once?

iPhone calendar appointments set to local calendar, and need
to switch to exchange calendar. Have to edit each appointment one at a time and
change to exchange calendar. Is there any method to edit all appoints in my
calendar at once and change the calendar setting?

Not sure this will work but if you go into the Keyboard preferences, then click the Keyboad Shortcuts tab, and then the '+', you can add your own shortcuts for any application.  I am not sure what happens if you try to override an existing shortcut since I haven't tried using this.
    Edit/Update:
Probably against my better judgement I'll also throw this out there - there's an Unsanity haxie called Menumaster which might also allow you to do what you want.  Against my better judgement because personally I stay clear of haxies.  It's (all haxies) probably almost certain to break in Lion.  They always do with each major release.

  • The time on my iphone is not being updated automatically, although it is set that way, why is the time 10 minutes slow

The time on my iphone is not being updated automatically, althought it is set that way. Why does it not update the time and why is it 10 minutes slow?

Thank you for your reply. I realy have nothing else to sync - no music. Emails do work so its just my contacts I am concerned about. I'm kinda new at this but have a working understanding of the system.
I have an icloud account but the Geek Squad went there and tried but could not export contacts.  I truly am not that good re icloud. They worked exclusively with my itunes, re-downloading, etc - all of the stuff in their book.
I have not tried a complete restore because I am not sure I am that good with the equipment but could.  I did all of the stuff on the help page - sync reset, forced one-way sync etc but the phone just does not seem to recognize the sync. I have not gone to an Apple store to have them have a look - that may be my next step to hook up to another itunes computer. It seems simple to me - it was working fine until maybe 3 months ago - probably when there was an update. Its telling to me that the phone does not tell me there is a sync in process while itunes is saying there is - its just not biting between the 2.
I appreciate any hep - and I said, I not stupidi about these things but have kind of reached as far as I am comfortable with fear of doing something really wrong.

  • Why automatically [automatically change time] setting in win8?!!

in win8 that I have been install it on my macbook pro, system time automatically change after each time i set correct local time.
i was disable automatic time in win8 configuration, but that's not work.
i have a same problem with my previews system between osx 10.7 vs win7. on that case win7 time was ok, but osx time wrong.i try several times to set osx time but each time changed time after restart.  I was disable all automatically options from both OS but my problem not solved.
now i need a help to manual set time in osx 10.8&win8 without automatically change...

The problem isn't so much that the time is changing as much as how Windows and OS X deal with time.  It will never be correct for both.  Windows sets your internal clock to "local time" which is the actual time you would use.  OS X uses a Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) offset.  Basically, OS X will set your internal clock to Greenwich Mean Time and then, based on your geographic location, it will add the correct number of hours based on your time zone.  So, for OS X, your internal clock will always be the same time regardless of where you are in the world and the OS adjusts it to display the correct time.  Windows actually sets your internal clock to your actual time.
So there is no way to have them both be correct... especially if you turn off auto updating.  If OS X was the last OS to set the time (so your internal clock would be set to GMT) and you switch to Windows (this should only happen with BootCamp by the way) Windows will display the GMT (which would not be correct for your local time).  Likewise, if Windows were the last OS to set your internal clock (so it would be set to your local time), when you switched back to OS X, OS X would "think" the internal clock is set to GMT and apply an offset so it would be however many hours your are from the GMT timezone hours off.

  • IPhone 4S time and date keeps resetting, despite being set to automatically do so.

After having recently upgraded my iOS to 7.0.4, my Verizon iPhone 4S has started to re-set the time and date every now and then at random. It does this, despite me having my Settings set to automatically set the date and time based on my location. I have called Verizon about this and all they had me do was to reset my network connections and reset my roaming capabilities...and despite me doing that this morning, the time re-set itself again this afternoon. I have found the only solution has been for me to power off my phone completely and then once on again, set the phone either into Airplane mode for a second - or to just wait until the Verizon signal switches the phone back to being the correct time and date on its own. I have also found that these issues have started to affect my ability to send and receive iMessages, as well. For some reason, when the date/time re-sets, the iMessage option becomes un-selected and I have to manually go back and turn that functionality back on. Anyone else having these same issues? It's incredibly frustrating and I'm not sure what else I can do save for constantly hard, re-starting my iPhone everytime I notice the time and date is out of whack. Also it's hard for me to tell if this is an Apple hardware issue/bug that just needs to be fixed - or something to do with Verizon. Any tips/info would be appreciated.

Try setting your time to manual. This way, the iPhone is the one controlling the time. As you correctly understand, when it is on auto, it is controlled by Verizon and their individual towers. If after setting the time to manual it works, then I would say it isn't a phone issue, but a Verizon one. Do you frequent the same area when this occurs? It could very well be an issue with a particular tower in your area and Verizon would need to check that. If the time goes off again while on manual, then it could be the phone. User troubleshooting is restart, reset, restore from backup and restore as new. Try each in order until the problem is fixed. If it cannot be, then make an appointment at the Genius Bar at Apple to have the phone looked at for hardware issues.
