IPhone 5 unable to sync
Hello
I just got my iPhone 5 and tried syncing it to my macbook. I have an old laptop that is on OS 10.5.8. My itunes is 10.5.2. I can't update it any further because of the OS. The phone won't sync because my itunes is out of date!
Is there a way where I can sync my music/apps/ical/etc from my macbook to the iphone?

I'm having the same problem. I understand what the system requirements are, but I simply didn't notice them when I ordered the phone.
At any rate, I called Apple today and ordered Snow Leopard. It's a barely newer version of an old operating system ... but it should do the trick. Snow Leopard is 10.6 and you can download the 10.6.8 update on Apple's site once SL is installed.
After I receive the DVD in the mail (really? no download? ridiculous...) I'll install iTunes 10.7 and all should be well. Until then, my iPhone 5 will just be a paperweight.

Iphone unable to Sync to New Macbook
My iphone does not sync with my itunes library on my newly purchased Macbook. I previously had my iphone working with my itunes on a PC. I backed up itunes and transferred my entire library to my new Macbook, but it does not allow me to transfer music into my iphone. I'm interesting in having my iphone work with my Macbook as it will now be the primary library. In addition, I need to update my iphone software to the new 2.2 version since it is still on version 1.1.4, but I'm worried that I will lose all of my contacts, bookmarks, and photos. What should i do? Do I need to re-sync and delete my iphone to the new Macbook? If so, will my information other than my music be deleted as well? Any help would be much appreciated...thanks.
Have you authorized your new MacBook with your iTunes account with iTunes?
Any error message provided when having sync music selected under the Music tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes on your MB?
In regards to iTunes content, an iPhone can be synced with a single computer only. Even after transferring your entire iTunes library from your PC to your MB, your iPhone will be deleted of all iTunes content first when first syncing iTunes content with your MB.
All photos transferred from your PC to your iPhone need to be transferred from your PC to your MB just as your iTunes library was transferred from your PC to your MB.
Photos captured by your iPhone should be imported by your computer as with any other digital camera. With a MB, you can use iPhoto or the Image Capture application. I recommend using iPhoto for the import of photos from a digital camera including from your iPhone.
In regards to contact info, calendar events, and bookmarks, an iPhone is designed to be synced with supported applications on your computer for this data. With a Mac, this can be with the Address Book application for contact info, with iCal for calendar events, and with Safari for bookmarks.
Before syncing contact info and calendar events with the Address Book and iCal, enter one contact in the Address Book and one calendar event in iCal on your Mac. Make these up if needed which can be deleted later. This will provide a merge prompt for this data when first syncing contact info and calendar events with these applications on your MB selected under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences, which you want to select. -
Iphone unable to Sync with Itunes after the 5.0.1 IOs upgrade
I get an error message when I try to sync my iPhone 4 with my iTunes. It reads:
"The iPhone "XXXX" cannot be synced because there is not enough free space to hold all the selected items (additional 7.25GB required)."
My status bar for the phone on iTunes says that with everything selected, I have 2.7GB free on my phone.
I've also noticed that when it attempts to sync it cancels the sync after attempting to download something about a Safari safe downloading something or other (I've never been able to catch the whole wording because it cancels shortly after the attempted download)
This is frustrating, how might this be fixed, or how might I downgrade my OS to a previous version?

1. disable anti trojan / virus real time scanners - close and reopen itunes - try to sync
2. disable firewall - close and reopen itunes - try to sync
3. disable your wifi and/or lan connection - close and reopen itunes - try to sync
(vpn software also seems to cause problems sometimes)
it seems they made some changes in the way it connects (prob in for the tethering) and its causing some issues for some (my connection failure was caused by -a squared- my anti trojan program) -
IPhone unable to sync my address book contact after restore
my phone. I do not have the backup of the phone. Any solutions for it? I think thats probably Mac OS X Lion problems.
Tried force quit, restore, close all the multitasking apps. But still doesn't work. Can anyone help out for this? :/

After having yet another problem with my MacBook Pro and having to wipe the drive, I am now unable to sync my iPhones etc without erasing all the music on them. Is there a way around this? I have no other library!
iTunes is a mess! It couldn't find it's own libraries and I was forced to create a new one. Now I don't know where my music is or if any's missing.columbus new boy wrote:

It's not that simple. For example, I've 3500 songs on my MacBook but don't want them all on my phone, so I have to manually select each song again???
There has to be a solution.
Why not simply make a playlist with the songs you want on the iPhone?

Multiple calendars have appeared on my Iphone and I am unable to sync all of them to my PC, running Windows 7 and Office 2010. How can I sync all the calendars to my PC, or, alternatively, merge the calendars on the Iphone so there is only one calendar to sync?
If the hard drive that crashed is the one that stored the itunes library, be sure to restore the library from Time Machine (mac) or whatever backup you use on windows. That will get back your music. I suspect that the replacement drive has an empty itunes library and thus, perhaps, the itunes match used that to sync to its servers.
Try posting in the iTunes Match forum, you'll probably find more knowledgeable folks there.

I am unable to sync my new iPhone 4s OR my iPod Touch 4 to iTunes.(this is the first time I am plugging them into iTunes) I have version 10.6.1. Both devices are up to date with the latest software version. Once I plug the device in, it is recognized on iTunes.The synce process does not start automatically. I am unable to select the sync option. I've tried reseting the device and restarting iTunes and the same problem happens. I have plugged in my husbands iPhone 3gs and the sync process starts automatically. I have also added my computer as an authorized computer for the new devices. What now?

I have an iPhone 5s on a windows 8 platform. iTunes is 11.1.4.62, iTunes doesn't recognize my iPhone and I am unable to sync. After the last iTunes update my phone wasn't recongnized and the phone asks if I want to trust the computer everytime I connect it. Other programs can access the photos and recognize the iPhone 5 but not iTunes.
Try holding down CTRL as you launch iTunes to see if it will repair the drivers.

The iTunes on my desktop is no longer recognizing any of my devices (iPads, iPods, or iPhones). I am unable to sync. And when I connect a device I am asked on the device if I "Trust this Computer". When I hit "Trust" nothing happens. Help?

I have recently updated my iTunes to the latest software. Since then my iphone will not sync with itunes, it doesn't show up in my computer any more either. The computer makes the bing sound as I plug in but i am unable to sync, how can I fix this problem?

Unable to Sync emails to car's HU over bluetooth. I am using iphone 5 and have set up a gmail account on it. Also, the basis notification settings mentioned on some site have been done.I tried doing the following still the email sync is not working.?

Forgive my language but getting to talk to the Safaricom customer service is a real pain in the **bleep** - if you ever get to talk to them, that is.
I've never got an answer to my phone calls in three years and their customer assistans in the shops usually have no clue about whatever it is you're asking them.
I talked to a few of them in a couple of different Safaricom shops and they didn't know what I was talking about.
Still, I believe Safaricom is not the problem as other people I know who have a BlackBerry on Safaricom haven't experienced this problem. -
i am unable to sync music from my computer to my iphone 4S i receive an error message stating that it requires 11.1 or later and that i need to go to the itunes website to download that, ive done that and still am unable to proceed.
Okay, you are using Windows 7. What version of iTunes do you have. Please don't tell me the most current one, go into Help then About iTunes and read what it says.
