IPhone 5 unable to verify account information

I use iCal for my calendar. I have an iMac and Ipad2 which both connect to the server just fine. My new iPhone 5 (which has the same user name, server information and password) as my iPad2 will not verify account information. I have added the optional domain name, turned push on and off and on again. Turned SSL off and on. Any other ideas?

I was able to use the actual numerical server address (173.197.xx.xx) on the iphone and the remote.server.org address on the ipad - looks like everything is communicating now. Don't know why both devices are not able to use the same account information.

I thought that there is any problem with hotmail server on sometimes.

Talk to your IT department. Worked just fine for my on my 4S with 6.0.1 and works just fine on my 5 with 6.0.2.

I have had my shaw email on my phone forever without problem. updated to ios8 on thursday and today i cannot access it. Password is correct but kept asking for it and saying it was wrong. Deleted the account and tried re-adding it and now i get Exchange Account Unable to Verify account information. I also tried adding it as other and same message. I went to shaw's info page but they have not updated for ios8 yet.

Thanks for your reply. I use Sky email which is managed by google. I have now deleted the account and set it up again and that seems to be working now. I'm still having problems just getting the Internet connection to work. I won't be taking on any more software upgrades in future until I'm sure that they are worth it.

Getting 'Unable to verify account information' when attempting to setup Hotmail account

I enabled two-step verification today on my Hotmail email account.   This is my one and only Outlook account and is my 'primary alias' which is correct.   I am able to retrieve email on my iPhone and Windows PC just fine - have logged in and out several times today on the PC with no problem.   However I now cannot get this account setup properly on my iPad, though it worked before today.   I get the 'Unable to verify account information' message when I try to set up the account new again on iPad.   (I was forced to try and delete and reset it up.)
Is this somehow related to the two-step verification?   If so I will remove it and go back to single sign in.   What do you advise for email on the iPad in this case?

Exchange Account - Unable to verify account information

Hi There. I was trying to setup a staff members work e-mail to a work iPhone 4. The e-mail is an Exchange e-mail. All the information is correct (e-mail spelling, username and password, Domain and Server, etc) but it keeps saying "Exchange Account - Unable to verify account information" Usually I just click Ok and it still gives me the options to select what I want to sync (Mail, Calendar, etc) and it still goes through. This time it doesn't work at all. Just saves the info I inputted and won't sync up. Any ideas on what's going on?

Did the user change their password recently?
A user complained about not being able to log in with correct credentials (on outlook 2010) while at home. His password had expired, and when he came in this morning, he changed it. We then tried to set up his exchange account on his iPhone, which gave us the "Unable to verify account information" message. When I learned of the password change, I looked in our Active Directory and sure enough, his account had been marked as "Locked". I unlocked it, and voila! He added his account without any further problems.
So in short, check Active Directory to see if the accounts of affected users are locked. If they are, unlock them.

Hi have the same Problem. I solved in that way: (also with skydrive)
Remove the Account from the iPhone.
Sign in Outlook.com directly with an Internet browser.
Create New Account On my iPhone.
Now it works. Also skydrive.

I had the same problem - kept resetting my corporate systems password it would work for a few days and then the same problem as you. the solution that worked for me today was this - in the user name on the second screen which comes when you are setting up an exchange email accounts, i put in domain\username and then it magically worked.

I have had the same problem as yours on my Ipad after upgraded Procreate 2.01. My iOS is 7.04. I tried to find solution from internet for weeks. Fortunately, the problem was resolved a few minutes ago. It is very simple,
1. Lunch outlook.com to confirm you can access hotmail mailbox. It means your account is Ok.
2. Go to setting>Mail,Contacts,Calendars.Delete your hotmail account from your device.(my device is Ipad)
3. Turn off your device, then turn on again.
4. Go to setting>Mail,Contacts,Calendars and create your hotmail account by tap outlook.com. Be sure the incoming mail server is pop3.live.com.
5. Waiting for validation.

We've been trying to setup the iPad on our exchange server, 2003 version. We enter in all the info, and we keep getting the error message "unable to verify account information".
Now, I synched my droid with no problem.
Do we need to do something to the server or the iPad?

if I understand you correctly and you are trying to get an Exchange email account set up on your iPad... are you entering a domain name in the mail settings on your iPad? If you have done so, try removing the domain name and see if it will work without the domain name since the information is optional. I think this is how I got mine to work.

It was under hotmail before they updated it. This is what it said when I tried a different one the pop server IMAP mail.outlook.com is not responding check ur network connection and that u have entered the correct information in the incoming mail server. You stated that you CANNOT use the same password. That is incorrect. You CAN use the same password. That's it. Period. End of discussion. Your original statement was false.
But, let's humor you:
The fact that I DO use the same password for my account is proof enough for me. I am an Outlook user. I am fully aware that it was a CHOICE whether or not to enable Two-Step Verification. I chose not to use it.
Secondly, this particular Apple ID that I use is new, yes. I don't use my old one much on these forums anymore. Doesn't mean I'm new to the site. I guess you don't understand how Apple IDs work very well. But that's okay.
I did read the link that you provided. You apparently did not. The first part says 'After you've turned on two-step verification'. In other words, it is NOT the default setting. It was NEVER the default setting. It was something that the user had to CHOOSE to enable.
You actually have to sign into your account, go to Password and Security, and Edit security info.
You have to CHOOSE to turn it on.
