IPhone 5 unresponsive.

Hello,
My iPhone today all of a sudden shut off.  It was at approximately 65% battery power. When I plug it in, it starts to turn on, but it turns off again in about 5 seconds.  I have tried to restore it via iTunes, but it doesn't even show up on the computer.  I have also tried to hold down the home and lock buttons, but that has not done anything either.
Thanks

Since you are unable to restore, the next step is to recover your iPhone.  You may have to try to get to recovery mode more than once.
Here's how:

Now, it won't turn on, the power button/home screen button reset doesn't work, i have held that for a long long time. nothing. plugged it in to the wall for a few hours. nothing. plugged it up to itunes. nothing. totally unresponsive. any help? and it is not water damage

  • Iphone unresponsive - how can I turn it off?

Second time now my iphone touchscreen has become completely inactive. I can't turn it off even to reboot it.
    Any suggestions?

Try resetting your iPhone by pressing the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the slider. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.

  • Iphone unresponsive after ios 7.0.2 update

Tried to update through itunes 11, w7 and iphone stuck with connect to itunes image. Itunes no longer sees phone. Really upset with Apple and IOS 7 - this is really under-developed is very bad for apple. I am now without a phone and considering other manufacturer's when I next change phones

Try a reset/reboot of the phone (no data will be lost).
Hold the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time until the Apple logo appears - then release both buttons.  Allow the phone to restart.

  • IPhone unresponsive

Right so the deal is my phone won't turn on.
About 3hours ago was working fine got a message and was going to answer later as I was busy, when I went to answer my phone would not wake up.
Main problem with turning it on is my sleep/wake button is broken and does not work (was suppose to have it fixed but never got round to it and now used to it not working) Therefore I can't reset it like normal because it's broken. I usually just plug it in to the mains or into my pc and it reboots fine, but literally nothing is happening the screen is just staying black. I have tried putting it into recovery mode but that didn't work either. Would like to know if theres any other ways of rebooting? Or is my phone just dead and off to heaven?
    Thanks

hold the Sleep/Wake until the Apple logo appears.
Reset iPhone: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the
same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

  • IPhone unresponsive screen

I am having intermittent problems with two new iPhone 5 screens.  The screen is sometimes very non-responsive.  This is particularly an issue when turning things like Airplane Mode on and off.  The other day I was trying to turn it off, and I had to swipe the button 5-6 times before I could get the screen to respond.  This was never an issue on my old iPhone 4.  It is very annoying.  This happens when the phone is not plugged in, and I only use Apple chargers and cables.  This is happening for myself on my iPhone 5, and also for my daughter on her iPhone 5.  My daughter wants her old phone back.  Again, this was NEVER an issue on our old phones.

    Reset:
Hold the home and power buttons at the same time until the Apple boot logo appears. No data will be lost. If that fails, restore. If that fails, get replacement phones at an Apple Store.

  • IPhone 4S not working

Issue with my iphone: itunes was displaying iPhone unresponsive, so performed Erase All Content And Settings from settings app. Now its been a long time and the screen is showing spinning wheel. Please help

My problem began 2 days back when suddenly while syncing, itunes automatically disconnected my iphone, then couldnt connect iphone to any computer, itunes just displayed unable to connect, iphone unresponsive. Today went for Erase all content and settings and long time meant it had been almost 3 hours. I was afraid it hadnt been bricked, so used DFU mode restore. Phew its working now. Sadly lost all whatsapp and message app data

I figured it - Power button and Home button simultaneously until Apple Logo shows.

  • Spotify Premium Adverts/Annoncents and Other Issues

Hello I have been a paying customer for some months now and am finding the windows app to become progressively worse with each update. As I pay for an ad free service I struggle to understand the justification of an 'Announcement' banner which dominates the screen upon start up. This is nothing more than an advert with a different title. Not only is the banner very frustrating to have to hide each and every time the computer is restarted, I also have to deal with some of the ridiculous and insulting suggestion, such as todays 'one direction'. - In my opinion this I utter rubbish and is clearly not based on any of my previous listening habits. Next is the apps scrolling behaviour. The Spotify app once followed the standard Windows scrolling behaviour like all other software. After a so called update, the app now scrolls a whole page per notch of the mouse wheel. This make navigating through artist page very frustrating at best and sometimes near on impossible. This issue could be avoided if the scroll bar on the right hand side of the interface had used colours which contrast each other better that 'grey on grey' which has been chosen. My final annoyance is with the iOS app which makes my iPhone unresponsive and unusable. This has now forced me to return to iTunes on my device and delete the app. This is becoming increasingly painfully service to use and have not seen and fixes. Can I please has a quick and meaning full response or I will be forced to cancel this subscription and look elsewhere for a music service. Thank YouDwilko87 Spotify Version 1.0.10.107.gd0dfca3a running on Microsoft Windows 8.1 fully updated.iPhone 5, iOS 8.4 which was running the most recent Spotify update until I deleted it.I have attempted to uninstall and reinstall without success.

Yes, your installation errors appear to be the innocuous false errors related to the brain-dead Flash installer. If the programs seem to be working fine, don't worry about it. As far as not being able to open images with Photoshop from Windows Explorer, I recommend taking that question to the Photoshop forum.

  • Itunes unresponsive iphone 5

Itunes hangs when connecting my iphone 5 and I followed the troubleshooting guide but the guide stops if this issue still continues.  I highlighted the step below in red and hoping someone can redirect me to further troubleshooting steps.  Still haven't solved my problem:
iTunes: May become unresponsive when connecting iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
    Symptoms
In rare instances, iTunes may become unresponsive when connecting an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch to your computer. iTunes may become responsive again after you disconnect the device from the computer.
    Resolution
Expand All Sections | Collapse All Sections
Follow the steps below to troubleshoot the issue:
Install any available software updates for your computer.
For Mac OS X: Click the Apple () menu, choose Software Update, and follow the on-screen instructions.
For Windows: Refer to the documentation for your computer for instructions on using Windows Update to update your computer.
Update iTunes to the latest version.
For Mac OS X: Click the Apple () menu, choose Software Update, and follow the on-screen instructions. You can also download iTunes from the Apple website.
For Windows: Use Apple Software Update, or download iTunes from the Apple website.
    Test with automatic syncing disabled.
For Mac OS X: Click the iTunes menu and choose Preferences. Click the Devices tab and place a check next to option to "Prevent iPods, iPhones and iPads from syncing automatically." Click OK.
For Windows: Click the Edit menu and choose Preferences. Click the Devices tab and place a check next to option to "Prevent iPods, iPhones and iPads from syncing automatically." Click OK.
Reconnect your device and test to see if the issue still occurs. If your device is recognized successfully, you may be able to isolate which type of data is causing the issue. Do this by deselecting all syncing options under each of the syncing tabs and then sync. After that, re-enable your sync options one at a time until the issue returns.
Note: If the issue only occurs when syncing data from the Info tab is enabled (For example: Contact, Calendar, Mail account or Bookmark syncing), reset the Sync History (for Mac OS X instructions see this article, for Windows see this article).
Check your device for podcasts. If there are any podcasts, manually delete all podcast episodes from the device by sliding your finger across the podcast episode's name and tapping Delete. Once all podcasts are removed from your device, reconnect it to the computer, open iTunes, and test.
If possible, test to see if connecting your device to a different computer with the latest version of iTunes installed resolves the issue.
    Test with iTunes plug-ins removed.
    Quit iTunes.
Navigate to the following folder, based on your operating system:
    Windows XP:  C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\iTunes Plug-ins
    Windows Vista or Windows 7:  C:\Users\[username]\App Data\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes\iTunes Plug-ins
    Mac OS X:
~/Library/iTunes/iTunes Plug-ins   (The "~" represents your Home folder)
    /Library/iTunes/iTunes Plug-ins
If any files are in this folder, move them to the Desktop temporarily.
Open iTunes and test to see if the issue is resolved. If so, you may leave these iTunes plug-ins removed. If you wish to re-use these iTunes plug-ins, consult the vendor for the iTunes plug-ins to see if any updates are available.
If the issue also occurs on a different computer:
If the issue does not occur on a different computer, or no other computer is available to try:
It can be useful to determine if the issue affects a specific computer user account or all accounts.
Follow the steps below for your operating system to create a new user account to test.Windows XP
    Windows Vista or Windows 7
    Mac OS X
If the issue still occurs in a new user:
If the issue does not occur in a new user:
Test with an alternate iTunes Library.
Log out of the new user and log back in to the original user.
Create a new iTunes library by following steps in this article.
Connect the device to see if the issue still occurs.
If the issue does not occur with a new blank iTunes library, quit iTunes and switch back to the original library as follows:
Windows: Reopen iTunes while holding down the Shift key. When prompted, click Choose Library. Navigate to and select the original iTunes library file. By default, the iTunes Library files are stored in the following locations:
    Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\My Documents\My Music\iTunes
    Windows Vista: C:\users\[username]\Music\iTunes
    Windows 7: C:\users\[username]\My Music\iTunes
Mac OS X: Reopen iTunes while holding down the Option key. When prompted, click Choose Library. Navigate to and select the original iTunes library file. By default, the iTunes Library files are stored in~/Music/iTunes.
Then, rebuild the original iTunes library files by following this article.
Above in red, it states that if the issue does "not" occur.  But after creating a new library, the problem still persists but the article ends there and doesn't provide instruction if the problem still persists.  I don't want to rebuild my library just to learn that this wasn't the problem in the first place.

Exactly the same concern i have, and im scared that 4 months later no one seemed to have noticed? Apple? Anyone?

  • Home button unresponsive after iOS 7.1 update (iPhone 5)

    Hi,
I just updated my iPhone 5 to iOS 7.1 on Monday. But today (Thursday) my home button suddenly unresponsive. The phone had been working normally until now when I was on FaceTime and tried to view my home screen but couldn't.
Turning the phone off/on doesn't fix it. Once I turn off the phone and turn it back on, I can see the homepage and enter any app but I can't escape that app without shutting down the phone again.
Also, there is no damage to the phone/home button in any way (physical, water, etc.) I can't reset the phone because, you know, the home button won't respond.
How can I remedy this?  Is anyone else having this problem?

I had the same problem and kept playing around with the phone and doing internet searches. This seems to have fixed the problem.  I went to Settings, General, Accessibility and then Home-Click Speed. I changed from Default to Slow.
