IPhone 5 Verizon LTE problem

I have the 64GB iPhone 5 in white on the Verizon network.  Each day at a random time LTE will have a problem where I can't make a facetime call.  If I try and run a speed test either my up or down will not complete the test.  The only way for me to fix the issue is to toggle airplane mode and as soon as my phone picks up the Verizon LTE signal I can make a facetime call.
I have done some troubleshooting on my own and here are some of those steps and results.
I contacted Verizon and they "rebuilt" my line in their system.  I'm not sure what that means, but Verizon assured me it would fix any issues in their systems. 
I have the issue on LTE only, 3G and Wifi have no issues with facetime and complete speeds tests every time without issue. 
LTE in my area is a full 5 bars and when I'm not experiencing this issue I typically get 10-20Mb down/up
I contacted AppleCare and they suggested I do a reset.
I tried a reset on "Network Settings"
Nothing above has made any progress so tonight I'm trying a full reset on the phone per AppleCare instructions.  If that doesn't work I was told to take the phone into an Apple store.  The only issue with that is the 1 hour drive one way which I'm trying to prevent.
If anyone else is having the same issue please speak up or point me to a fix you have done.

I appreciate the heads up on the other thread but I'm not experiencing the same issue.  My LTE signal stays at 5 bars and doesn't drop to 3G yet I still experience slowdown and can't complete a speed test or surf the web.  Video services stop etc, so my data is effectively gone on LTE until I toggle Airplane mode or turn LTE off and use the 3G network.
For anyone that was following this thread its worth noting that I did a full restore of the phone and I still have connectivity issues on LTE. 
Dialing *3001#12345#* on my Verizon iPhone5 brings up "Field Test" mode which shows my LTE signal strength at -82db.  After spending a little time on google -82 seems to be a decent signal strength and is reinforced by 5 bars of signal strenth.  I don't think the issue is with Verizon's network as they report no issues and the signal appears to be good. 
At this point I think I will be scheduling an appointment at the Apple Store.  I'm very weary of driving an hour since the issues crops up at a randomly during the day.  I'd have a nagging feeling that everything will be working at my appointment which will have to be scheduled a few days out.
Oh well I'll update this thread once I have made some progress.

    Hello, guys i got an iPone 5 just recently and my iPhone's LTE keeps cutting in and out like it will stay on if imam standing still but when I move and stuff like that it just goes to 3G. Out 100% it will be on LTE for like 10% of the time. I live in a major city and LTE is fully covered here and my service provider covers it also.     Probably , it's a big country , if you tell your general location a user in that area might be able to confirm your problem an an outage

  • IPhone 5 LTE not active very much

    Even though the Verzion coverage map shows my area has strong LTE coverage, the LTE on my new iPhone 5 is barely ever on.  If I switch to wifi or it goes off on its own it almost never returns to LTE.  If I go into airplane mode or reboot the phone sometimes LTE will return.  I have a Verizon LTE iPad which never loses its LTE signal.  Does the LTE radio in the iPhone 5 have worse than the one in the iPad or is there simply something wrong with my phone?

    For those other than No1x, who is familiar with the current status.
    For those being told to swap iPhone 5 HW or Nano SIM, I can report that neither will fix this problem.
    ** UPDATE FROM VZW - PLEASE READ **
    I spoke with "Robert" in Tech support. You reach tech support by calling to report a device problem 800-922-0204, reaching customer service and telling them you need to speak with Tech support.
    Robert told me that every ticket I had opened previously with VZW was pointless because those tickets only go to the local tower team.
    Robert stated that the way that these issues are escalated inside of Verizon is via their internal "device forum", which is similar to the Community on verizonwireless, but only accessible by members of their technical staff.
    There is no way to reach Robert back again thanks to VZW not allowing any direct inbound communication.
    Robert posted a forum post internally at VZW under the following title:

    He claims this post will also be found if they are under your device (iPhone 5) and simply search for "lte" in the forum.
    My request to EVERYONE experiencing this problem is to immediately call VZW at 800-922-0204 and register the behavior you are experiencing with them, ask them to add your information to this forum post and ask them to TEXT YOU confirmation that this was done. Texting you gets recorded on your account for future reference.  Please do this in addition to contact 800-MY-APPLE and opening up a case that references the forum post below. Do not bother to report to an Apple Store "Genius" bar or a Verizon Wireless store directly as neither has yielded me any results.

    I have a Verizon iPhone 4S and travel to France frequently. I am able to use my phone with a local French SIM, and it works fine. I am planning to get an iPhone 6, which will be 4G Lte. Will I be able to use that phone in France the same way I can use my 4S, which uses a micro sim card?

I am not familiar, having never used it, with 4G Lte technology, and what I was wondering was whether the Verizon iPhone 6, with that technology, will be able to use a local SIM in France. Do they make those phones, Verizon LTE, with two radios, LTE and GSM? Is it a GSM SIM that one would use in France, or is there only one SIM, which could be temporarily replaced with a local SIM?

  • Major LTE Problems in D.C.

    Is there an explanation for the significant LTE service disruptions in central D.C.?
    For the past week LTE service has slowed to an absolute crawl near Metro Center, literally 3-4 blocks from the "Verizon Center" (which you'd think would get great LTE service).
    Every day from about 11:30AM on the LTE becomes absolutely useless and remains so throughout the afternoon and into the evening.
    This is NOT a problem with my phone as this problem has been occuring for every person with Verizon in my office. We have never had a problem with the LTE service in our building before this week and going outside does nothing to alleviate the problem.
    The service is fine in the mornings but without fail right around 11:30 it absolutely dies. Phone says it is connected to LTE services but nothing that uses data will work.

    The zip code is 20005, my phone is a Droid Incredible 4G LTE. This is downtown, urban DC, about 3 blocks from the Verizon Center arena.
    A few things:
    1) This is a recent problem occuring over the last week into today
    2) The problem is affecting EVERYONE with Verizon service in my office, it is NOT limited to my phone only so it is clearly a service problem and not a phone problem.
    3) The problem occurs whether inside or outside of the building.
    4) I have run speedtests and I normally see around 1Mbps, however, starting around 11:00AM every day that drops down to 300kbps and remains there until around 4:30.
    To summarize:
    ALL Verizon 4g service in this area drops in speed by around 66% (1Mbps down to 300kbps) from approximately 11:00AM - 4:30PM Monday through Friday (the problem did NOT occur over the weekend). This problem happens regardless of location in or out of a building and occurs for ALL Verizon customers in my office. It is therefore NOT a phone problem but clearly a Verizon service problem.
    This issue has been occuring for approximately 1 week now, prior to that there was no such issue. Clearly something has changed in the last week regarding Verizon service in this area.

  • IPad 3rd Gen Shows Strong Verizon LTE Signal but no Internet

    I've heen having a frequent issue where my Verizon LTE iPad is showing a full LTE connection but than I get error messages that I'm not connected to the Internet.  So I end up having to toggle Airplane mode to get it to reacquire a signal (which might take a minute or two) and than all is well again until the problem happens again.  This typically happens when I'm on the move as opposed to being at home; so perhaps an issue with transferring between cell towers but any advice to alleviate the problem would be appreciated. 

    Is this issue happening on both your work PC and MacBook or just one or the other? Are both PCs Macs? Is your "work" e-mail web-based that you can access from any web browser via just an Internet connection?
    Do each of your computers use the same DNS server settings? The default would be your ISP's DNS servers.

    I believe because you migrated from a Nokia to an iPhone you need to register the Bn phone number with your Apple ID so it can be used for iMessage. The Pn number seems to be the only one registered

    I'm having a similar problem, but I do have the key and is not working anyway.
    My old pc was running on windows 7 and my new one is an apple running on Lion.
    My phone is an Iphone IV and I can see all the bookmarks there.
    In order to sync, what I did was click on the "I don't have the device with me", I entered the key that was provided and the process finish ok. It says congratulations, etc, etc.
    But the bookmarks are not there, I tried merging data and replacing data on this computer options but is the same.
    Any suggestions?

    I have the same problem with 3G coverage. I am suppose to be in a strong 3G coverage area at home. I only have 1 bar. Traveling around town (Sacramento area) my 3G coverage changes dramatically. From 1 bar to full bars? Not sure if its working properly or not??? Anyhow, this was posted on Engadget. After they exchanged their iPhone the problem went away? Could it be true? Is it the netork or our iPhones? Lets all hope nothing is wrong with our iPhones!!!!
    iPhone 3G Reception Problems? You're Not Alone
    One of the more disturbing things coming out of the iPhone 3G launch is reports of suspiciously poor 3G reception and speeds. Specifically, I've seen several people report one bar - specifically, one bar - of 3G reception in areas where other devices report strong reception. (More complaints at Engadget.)
    This may be a problem with a batch of iPhones, or with something in AT&T's network, though I've also seen someone reporting the problem on O2 in the UK. The first review iPhone we got had this problem - it would mysteriously drop from four bars of 3G to one for no apparent reason, while our Motorola RAZR2 V9 reported better reception. Then it would shoot back up to four bars for no apparent reason a few minutes later. That unit would also occasionally throw up an "invalid SIM" error, requiring a reboot. That phone also had hideously slow 3G data speeds in the 50 kbps-150 kbps range, so the missing bars weren't just a display issue; there was something wrong with the way the phone was hitting the network.
    We exchanged that iPhone for a different unit and no longer had the problem. We took the new iPhone and carried it around comparing it to a Motorola V9, and the two phones connected roughly the same number of calls on the 3G network. The new unit also had much higher data speeds in the same locations - still not great, in the 300-400 kbps range, but at least reflecting 3G.

    my white iphone does the same thing. I will drop down to one bar on 3g but full strength when i turn 3g off. Some people have tried to say that it is because 3g had more difficulty going through walls. Mine will not switch between 3g and edge on it's own so i find that when at home i just have to turn off the 3g. I have also heard rumors of a bad batch of iphones. I tried to take it into the store today but they were so busy i just had to make an appointment for thursday, although i was able to replicate the problem in front of the apple geek, which was a little surprising becuase while in line outside the store i had full bars of 3g. It might just be an issue that occurs when indoors? I also have a problem with lag. I'm hoping to get it resolved thurdays, whether they give me a new phone or just tell me to eff off and deal with it. probably the latter.

    I would try using another cable you can likely borrow one to test from somebody
    if it's the same then likely the connector in your iphone have been damaged
