Iphone 5 very slow, how do I remove music? Im using the icloud and itunes match.

The phone locks up and restarts on its own now. Hard to navigate with it because its very slow.
Already did a backup and restored it from the backup. Any ideas? Thanks

There are a few different reasons this could be happening, and it sounds like you're on the right track to isolating the issue. However, it would be very helpful to go one step further and Use iTunes to restore your iOS device to factory settings - Apple Support. This will completely wipe everything off the phone (including the iOS software itself) and install a fresh, clean copy of iOS, just in case there is a corrupt file in there giving you the trouble. After reinstalling iOS, set the phone up as a new iPhone temporarily to test the issue and see if it is still happening. If so, there may be a hardware issue with the device. Hopefully that isn't the case -- if the phone runs smoothly when set up as new then it means there was a corrupt file in the operating system or that there is something in your backup (possibly a third-party app) causing the issue. After testing the iPhone set up as new, go ahead and restore the phone from your backup and see if the issue comes back. If so, you may want to contact Apple Support to see if their diagnostic test helps narrow down which apps are contributing to the issue.

You don't need iTunes Match to have your music in all your devices. iTunes Match is for getting music that you've purchased elsewhere into the cloud. All you need to do is set up each of your devices to your iTunes Store account. You can then download things you've purchased by going to the Purchased section. See:

I used a usb turntable to import old vinyl records into iTunes. Then with the cloud and iTunes match I put them on another Mac. The songs come up in the music list but they are greyed out. How do I get them recognized.

Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

- Unsync all music and resync
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.

I have mulitple copies appearing on my ipad after using icloud and itunes match, how do I get only 1 copy to appear?

I am new to the Ipad, I just got the Ipad with retina display in and only have a 16gb memory. I wanted to use Icloud for my music and other items, but when I started using Icloud and Itunes match, my Ipad has up to 3 of the same song listed on the song list. and will repeat when I am listening to my music. I was wondering how I can get those multiple copies go away to just 1.

I currently have both iCloud and itunes Match for all of my music files. Since I was traveling to a country with limited WiFi access, I decided to dowmload most of my music onto my iPad so I could access it...which exausted most of my storage capacity (64 GB). I would now like to reverse this process, removing my music from from my iPad capacity back to iCloud/Match...which made my music available but didn't use up my storage...HELP !

Remove a song that’s been downloaded. Swipe left, then tap Delete.
Just show music that’s been downloaded from iCloud. Go to Settings > Music, then turn off Show All Music.
Remove iPad from your list of “iTunes in the Cloud” devices. In iTunes on your computer, choose Store > View Account. Sign in, then click Manage Devices in the “iTunes in the Cloud” section.

If the sign does not go away it has not completed the restore. So you are incorrect when you say it "keeps completing the restore" if that message is still displayed.
Do you get an error message? If so, what is the error number?

How do you remove purchased songs from the iCloud?

There are a bunch of songs that I have bought over the years that I have no intention of listening to again. Since I have signed up for iTunes Match, they now all appear again on all my devices that I use the iCloud on... Apple says that I can simply go into my "purchased" list on iTunes and hide them, but that does not work as they still show up... what am I doing wrong, or how do I really accomplish this? Is there some second step I need to take in order to complete the process?
I have seen suggestions of starting a second library, but is that really necessary? I just want to hide some of the songs I don't want anymore so I don't have to scroll past all of it all the time anymore.

Once you have a secure backup of your Song files you can simply delete a Song, selecting the option to remove from iCloud.
It is worth turning off all other libraries and devices associated with the same Apple Id / iTunes Match service first.
Once the deletion request is confirmed, 'Update iTunes Match', close your local library - allow 20 - 30 mins for synchronisation across the Apple infrastructure, restart the library and confirm that the Songs have really gone - once confirmed you can start the other libraries and iDevices - the deletions will be applied to all.
A second library is an easy way to store all your 'deleted from iCloud' Songs but it is not necessary.

How do I download music I have purchased (currently on iTunes Match) onto my hard drive so I can sync to my iPod

A couple of years ago i uploaded all the music on my hard drive onto iTunes Match. At that point I synced my iPod classic with the music on my hard drive.
Since then I have purchased lots more music that is now stored in iTunes Match rather than my hard drive. When i go to sync my iPod clearly its not picking up any new music as its not on my hard drive.
Is is possible do my new music (the stuff I have bought on other devices and is within Ituens match) onto my hard drive so i can udte and sync my iPod?

You can copy iTunes purchases from your iPad to your computer's iTunes by connecting the iPad to it and doing File > Devices > Transfer Purchases.
You might also (depending upon what country that you are in) be able to redownload them directly on your computer's iTunes via the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store homepage

What happens when you click on the price button, what prompts/messages appear ? If you have a balance on your account then that will automatically be used for the purchase, you can't specify how items are charged.
If when clicking on the price button you are being prompted to review and log into the account then unless the instructions on this page are followed when creating an account : Create an iTunes Store, App Store, or iBooks Store account without a credit card or other payment method - Apple Suppor…
then credit card details will need to be entered before the account can be used to download any item from the store.

If not then try entering your card's details, it shouldn't be charged (apart from a temporary store holding charge which your card issuer should remove within a few days or so), and you should be able to remove the card after entering it.

How to I remove music files from my computer through Itunes?

I had to reinstall itunes and create a whole new library. All my music is kept on an external hard drive which I keep plugged into my laptop, and Itunes reads the files from that. Before I had to reinstall, when I tried to delete a file, a pop up would ask me if I'd like to remove it from my computer as well as my library. This is no longer happening. All I get now is just a warning asking me if I'm sure I want to delete from the library. What do I do to fix this???? I have a lot of music I need to go through and clean up and I really need this option.

Drag the file into the "Automatically Add to iTunes" folder, which can be found in your iTunes Media folder. iTunes will add the file to your library and will immediately move it to an Artist/Album folder and you will end up with only a single copy. Try it now with one file so you can see how it works, before doing larger batches.

I upgraded my iPad, replacing the old one, the new one does not sync with iCloud Drive, in other words my iPhone 6 used to sync data with the previous iPad.

After logging into iCloud, you can select devices, and then remove the old device. Have you gone on the old device and disabled iCloud Drive, or signed out of iCloud on the old iPad. That would be the easiest I believe.

I accidentally deleted bookmark gilders on my iPad 4 and iCloud removed them from my iMac, iPhone 5, iPhone 4, iPad 2 and MacBook Pro. I turned off Safari on all devices for syncing with iCloud and used Time Machine to restore my Bookmarks.plist on my iMac, but iCloud keeps removing it and replacing the plist with the latest version. I want to remove all the Safari a bookmarks from iCloud, but don't know how to do this, can anyone help.

Just a note about the difference between these two things:
* "export" and "import" use an ancient HTML document format that all browsers can understand. When you import bookmarks, Firefox may place them into an Imported Bookmarks folder, or into Unsorted Bookmarks. This does not displace existing bookmarks, and Firefox does not automatically remove duplicates.
* "backup" and "restore" use a more comprehensive JSON data file, which contains extra information about your bookmarks (such as tags) not contained in the traditional export file. HOWEVER, a restore completely replaces all existing bookmarks, so the restore feature cannot be used to merge in a set of additional bookmarks.
