Ilkomiko. It sounds like you could use a casual, informed, discussion from people that are Mac oriented more than a dismissal to a google search or a flip answer. My experience with both phones leads me back to the iphone for several reasons. The iphone is a more solid piece of machinery while the Galaxy feels a little flimsy. The larger Galaxy screen is seductive but the iphone size is easier for me to operate and store. Bottom line for me, though, is iOS. I'm no fan of iOS6, in fact I had a difficult time downgrading back to 5.1.1 on my iPhone 4, but the intuitive ease and familiarity in iOS helped me make my decision.Hope this helps you.

Agreed. Should not be an issue if they use text messages.   iMessage will NOT work to a non Apple device.
I have the GS3 and a house full of Apple products.   I really love the phone and am hoping to get the Note 3 in a few months.
Have you added 'SmoothSync for Cloud' to your accounts in the settings?   This allows mail, calendar and contacts to sync between your Apple and Galaxy.
you should also add DropBox
You might look at Swiftkey as your keyboard as it is much better than the stock keyboard.
I also paid for Enpass, which is an encrypted password storage.   It syncs back and forth with dropbox.

Sony DSX-S310BTX and Samsung Galaxy S II

I recently installed a Sony DSX-S310BTX Digital Media Receiver in my truck and I paired it with my Samsung Galaxy S II running Android 2.3.6.
I am very happy with the unit but I love figuring out all of my options and I have been unsuccessful finding an answer through Sony's chat and email options. The main reason is because Sony's compatibility list for Samsung devices has not been updated to include my phone. (http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/suppor ... nfo_id=653)
I am looking for someone who has experience with similar devices to help me out with a couple of questions.
1. I use the bluetooth stereo feature on the sony unit to listen to streaming music playing on my phone. Why does the “pause” light blink when listening to Bluetooth stereo? P. 37 provides directions for how to connect and play. I can successfully do this but the blinking pause light doesn't go away - it doesn't matter if I click pause on the unit or not.
2. I am having trouble adding phone numbers to the preset list. I have reviewed the manual. P. 36 provides instructions for how to do this. I can successfully complete steps 1 through 3. Step 4 simply says "send the phonebook data by operating the phone". I'm not sure what "operating the phone" means.
3. The "new text message" indicator doesn't work for me. Is there something I am supposed to do to make this work?
4. When the unit lights are "dimmed" does that mean its only the display screen itself and not the red/blue lights on the buttons?

after consulting with our Engineering team here are the answers to your question. Thank you for your post.
1. Why does the “pause” light blink when listening to Bluetooth stereo?
Three phones here were tested and none of them produced this issue. One phone was a Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket.
2. trouble adding phone numbers to the preset list.
Once you have set the head unit to receive the phonebook, on the phone you need to navigate to the contacts section where it has the option to send the phone book via Bluetooth. The term “operating phone” means the phone that you have successfully paired with the head unit. You are doing the correct steps, just need to complete them using the menus on the phone you have paired with the head unit.
3. The "new text message" indicator doesn't work for me. Is there something I am supposed to do to make this work?
We tested 4 phones and the Motorola Photon got the indication but the Samsung Galaxy S II did not, possibly an incompatibility with that manufactures ROM. please check with the manufacturer of your phone or your service provider.

Yes, when using the dimming function the display is the only thing that dims.

You don't get the itunes program on your Android devise at all.
You would need to read the directions for your phone to learn how to put music on it.

So last night my boyfriend upgraded his old Samsung galaxy to the Samsung Galaxy s4. He was able to receive a few of my text messages, but then they randomly started saying "not delivered." I turned on and turned off my phone, and tried the turning off and on imessage and facetime but nothing has worked and I still can't text him. I am receiving his messages just fine, I just can't send any to him. I looked onlne at Apple Support for help but I noticed a majority of the problems were coming from people that switched from iphone to an android, but he has always had an android and I've been using the same iphone 4s the whole time. I have a Samsung Galaxy S5. I would like to get my ITunes music on my phone.

How do I get the music from my iTunes on my laptop to my Samsung Galaxy, if it's even possible. I have an Asus laptop with Windows 8. Samsung has an app called Smart Switch that I supposedly should be able to transfer songs from the iCloud. However, whenever I try to sign into to iCloud, after it was installed on my laptop, it says my Apple ID is valid but I don't have an iCloud account. I can't find where to set up the iCloud account. Just locate the itunes folder on your laptop, then locate media files then music and just click and drag to move the music from the laptop to the S5. Just be sure to move the music to the music folder on your phone and you're good to go. You don't even have to change the file format when you're moving the music over because Galaxy supports the iTunes media files.

I have a Samsung Galaxy Y GT-S5360 model phone. I'm planning to have 3G internet through vodafone in my phone. Is it possible to connect internet from my samsung phone to ipad 2(without micro-sim) by enabiling hot spot feature in my samsung phone?

I can't make or take phone calls, but i can message and use data. Has this happened to anyone else? I've gone through three Samsung Galaxy S5's in the past three days, two of which have this problem and one just stopped working all together.

My phone doesn't have any cellular phone functions...but it CAN send text messages and access data. Has this happened to anyone else? I've gone through three Samsung Galaxy S5's in the past three days, the last two have this problem and the first stopped working all together. I've had new sim cards put in, ive done hard resets on the phone, i've rebooted the phone, done battery pulls, and tech support has reset the signal to my phone. Nothing has worked. (I just "upgraded" <- lol.... and my old phone IS turned off.)

Im in 79707. So to recap my whole case: I upgraded my device using the verizon wireless website. I received my phone and switched my old SIM card from my Droid Razr Maxx HD into the new Galaxy S5. Everything worked fine until the next morning (May 31st) when I woke up and the phone wouldn't turn on. I took the phone to the local Verizon store and they were also unable to turn it on. They issued me a new Galaxy S5 (referred to as phone 2) and switched my SIM card into that one.
With PHONE 2 i was able to make calls and receive calls, along with text and data for approximately four hours. After that, i was unable to use the phone function of the device, but text and data were still functioning. I took PHONE 2 back to the Verizon store where they attempted to hard reset the phone twice, they also installed two new SIM cards at the store. After this they would get the same error, which is the phone just reading "Dialing..." after attempting to make a call. The Verizon associate declared the phone "DOA" and issued me another Galaxy S5 (referred to as PHONE 3).
PHONE 3 worked well, with phone text and data featured intact from when I received it on the after noon of the 31st until approximately 2:30PM on June 1st. I contacted Verizon Tech Support via Gmail phone to attempt the correct the problem. They reset the connection, had me do a battery pull, had me close the "phone" application, and erase the data and catche, then restart the phone. All of which had no effect. My phone is still able to receive texts and use data (even with wifi off) it simply cannot make or take phone calls. all it says is "dialing..." when I attempt to make a call. When other phones call my device it rings once on their end and directs them to voicemail, PHONE 3 does not ring on my end.
I have made sure my old phone is completely powered down.
