IPhone 5 WIFI slow and sometimes doesn't connect

Wierd one this... my iPhone 5 (IOS 7.0.4) has been working absolutely fine since I have had it... a few days ago I started experiencing VERY slow download rates via my home Wi-fi connection. Instead of 20+ megabits/s that I previously got, it has dropped down to 0.2 at best. In addition to this, the wi-fi connection (which is at full bars, and when next to the router) will just drop. When I try and reconnect, I get the "Unable to Connect message".
My wife has an iPhone 5 too, and she gets 20+ megabits/s constantly using the same connection, as does my iPad Air and Macbook Pro. 3G - not a problem at all.
I have tried the following but still no joy:
1) Different Wi-fi network - at work, I get 20+ megabit/s and no problems.
2) Reset all Settings
3) Restore from New (not using an existing backup)
4) Changed the router to a different type
5) Static IP address
6) Renew Lease
Tearing my hair out.... part of me thinks hardware issue, but why does it work ok on my Work network?
Any thoughts, please?

Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new). Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.

Try this. Type in the address bar about:config. Accept the warning. In the page that appears, in the Filter box, type network.http.max-connections. Change the value to 32 (which is probably set to 256 in your case). Close that page. Restart the browser.

Hello, I just bought a Airport Express, and on the first day it has a a weak signal. It is very far from my working space and my apartment has very thick walls that might be blocking the signal. I would like to know if I can do anything to make it stronger or faster. If you know please reply.
You need to move the AirPort Express closer to the bedroom.
You can leave the modem at its current location and purchase a longer Ethernet cable to move the AirPort Express virtually anywhere that you want. The closer that you can locate the AirPort Express to your working space, the better the signal will be.
Standard lengths of Ethernet cables are 6 feet (2 meters), 25 feet (8 meters), and 50 feet (15 meters). Any computer / electronics superstore will have a selection of Ethernet cable from which to choose. -
I Downloaded the new softwear update now my iPhone is running slow I'm haveing trouble connecting wifi what can I do!

MS Word is not an Apple product so it could not've downloaded with all the Apple software updates.

What program were you running to do that?
In any case boot from your OS installer disk and run Repair Disk from Disk Uility. -
So, my IPod touch is running 5.1.1 and is slow and sometimes unresponsive. According to Apple it will not update to iOS 6. It is a 32GB, 3rd Generation. I want the new features but it's making me mad. I do not want to jailbreak. As this would void my device from Apple. I love the features iOS 6 has to offer but I don't want to put out anymore money. IPods are expensive enough, Should I use blobs? Or would that make my device worse. Plus I do not want to pay $20.00 for a chat and have to wait all day to someone who I can't understand on the telephone. someone help me please.
For the slowness:
Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

- Reset all settings

Firefox 3.6.10 in Ubuntu 10.04 recently became very slow and often doesn't find websites, especially those in My Yahoo, whereas Chromium works fine. When searching for a website, a dialog finally pops up saying "Server not found" "Firefox can't find server at finance.yahoo.com" When searching for, say, M&T Bank, Firefox says "looking up dnssearch.rr.com" My Internet Service Provider" is Time Warner's Road Runner. I followed the directions for Firefox not finding some websites by changing my connection setting to "no proxy", by disabling IPv6 and DNS prefetching to no avail. I uninstalled Firefox and then re-installed it - no change. I went to Tools > clear recent history, but the latter was shaded and unclickable.
You can try "Reset all user preferences to Firefox defaults" on the [[Safe mode]] start window.
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).<br />

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.<br />

Do I need to purchase an iPad with cellular to use imaps or can I purchase an iPad with wifi only and use the data connection on my iPhone.

JohnYour phone might be on do not disturb mood... So, when it's locked, you receive no calls. If you see a crescent at the top of your screen, go to setting, do not disturb, and turn off the manual

What happens when the iPhone needs an activation and it doesn't respond? Then it asks me to restore it but due to an unknown error (-1) the iPhone can't be restored.
Thank you for your response. However, I have done that plenty of times and each time I try to restore my phone, it extracts the software and then when it says restoring with the loading bar, an error message comes up saying an unknown error has occurred.

I changed my Apple ID at the Apple website but it won't let me change it on my iPhone 5 (gMail, iCloud) and syncing doesn't help.

Do you have modified software installed on your device?
If not, try to set it up as new device, explained here, without using the latest backup afterwards, in case it is containing corrupt data.
How to back up your data and set up as a new device
If this does not help, you'll have to get it serviced, there might be a hardware problem. -

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
