Iphone 5 will not display 3G, ever

My iphone 5, with 6.1.4 on the AT&T network does not have this option. In fact it will NOT display 3G under any circumstances. It always goes directly from 4G to EDGE. I find this to be very unsatisfactory.

I have spent hours on the phone with AT&T support in attempts to make it opperate on 3G. Whenever I am in the presents of other AT&T users with an iPhone 4 or other makes and models of cell phones and they are connected to and operating on 3G, and are able to do data just fine, while my iPhone 5 is stuck on EDGE is just lame.

OF course an iPhone 4 shows 3G that is all it can receive .
The change refered to by gd refers to THE iPHONE5 the iPhone you have and are complaining about

I used to have a droid and loved the calendar on the main screen that used to show me the next few appointments coming up - so far I have only figured out how to put in to show for next day or 2 days or etc....

i used google calendar and they all show up in calendar but REALLY need the functionality to see what is coming up, kind of like what you see in outlook or any other email program.

IPhone will not display old emails in saved Outlook/Exchange folders

I have a second generation iPhone with the newest iPhone software. At work we use Microsoft Outlook for emails and my IT friend had previously set up my iPhone to send and receive Outlook emails. I could also access and read/forward/delete old emails that I save in various folders for reference. When Exchange became available he set up my iPhone to use Outlook using Exchange and deleted my old Outlook email account. Now I can see all the folders that have saved emails in them on my desktop computer, but the iPhone will not display any of these old saved emails prior to when he switched me over to Exchange. Is there anything I can do to get these emails back so I can refer to them on my iPhone?

Allan, thanks for that reply. I should have mentioned that I tried to reset that feature under SETTINGS, in which I tried the 1 month and even the NO LIMIT option, but I still can't get the old emailed in those saved items folders to display.

My iphone will not display the scrubber bar, shuffle or repeat icons.

Since the latest upgrade to 6.1.3, my iphone 4 will not play songs unless in shuffle mode. I get no scrubber bar, repeat, or shuffle buttons on the album header. I cannot get the shuffle feature to turn off. Anyone have an idea how to correct this? Playing all music in shuffle is very frustrating.

I was trying sync my iPhone 3GS via iTunes and it got stuck (pinwheel). I was able to stop sync on the phone but not in iTunes. Then forced quit iTunes. On next try, the phone got stuck in the spinning pinwheel and will not shut down. Any ideas on what to do?

hold the home button and the on/off switch together, past the prompt for turning off, until the apple logo appears. This may take upwards of 30 seconds or so.

I can't view the music I purchased on iTunes either.
I can sync and back up to my external hard drive, but the music will not show on the phone.
The connection started to slow down over the past weeks, now when I press the music notes icon, it just gives me blank screen! I have re-synced but nothing.

See if this helps .... Reset the iPad.
Hold down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears - ignore the red slider bar - let go of the buttons and let the iPad start up. Then check your emails.

If you're in a country where there's an apple shop (unfortunately not mine), go check it and ask the employee about it: he's gonna check your Iphone on a "device"
I've got an iphone 5 and it's working very well with me but I have to admit that its battery lasts (slower) than my Ipad 2.
Still i can help with some tips that may improve your iohone's battery by an hour in addition (hopefully):
- close all apps by multitasking....
- do NOT keep the brightness to the max
Believe me you're gonna regret changing your phone to a samsung

My iphone 4 (running iOS 4.3.3) will not display my music library

It all started when I wanted to add a new song to my library. I forgot how to add it and accidently clicked sync, but then remembered that it would erase my library so I canceled it early. After that my phone froze, I restarted and this is where I am at now.
My music library only shows up in iTunes when my phone is plugged into my PC and it shows that my muisc library is still all there, as seen here:
When its not plugged in and I goto to my iPod App, this is what I see and it doesnt change!:
Oh and it also will not display my photo library on my phone and it also says its updating and is stuck there.
What can I do to fix this? I have had no problems with this phone yet and this is very frustrating. Everything else on the phone is in wokring order though.. calls messaging and purchased apps

Do these other individuals actually have iDevices?
Are they having issues sending/receiving messages from others?
Can they successfully send a message to you?
Honestly, nothing about what you describe sounds like an issue with your device or Apple ID.

My iPhone will not work unless I plug it into my wall charger, It is fully charged but only works when it is plugged in to wall charger. When it is turned on it say "Restore needed iphone can not make or receive calls' i tried plugging it up to Itunes but it will not turn on to sync.

First try a hard reset, press and hold the power button and home buttons until the phone restarts and displays the Apple Logo, then let go.
If that doesn't work...
Try forcing recovery mode and then restore with iTunes.

Blackberries were designed at a time when cellular data was very expensive. They don't do nearly as much as an iPhone, in part, to conserve data use. All modern smartphones will use more data than a Blackberry unless you do almost nothing.
You do not need to quite apps. Almost no apps run in the background.
