IPhone 5 won't reboot past Apple logo. It will not show up in iTunes to perform a restore.

iPhone 5 won't reboot past Apple logo. It will not show up in iTunes to perform a restore. After the logo appears the phone will get switched of by its own. I updated my phone 2 days before.

The iPhone can only be serviced in the country where it has been bought, and it can't be shipped internationally to Apple Support, you'll or somebody else have to bring it personally. If you registered the phone with your Apple ID, you might not need the receipt, Apple Support should have your data.
Did you try to set it back to factory settings without using any backup afterwards?

iPhone 4 won't reboot past Apple logo. It will not show up in iTunes to perform a restore. I can't even get it to turn off. Help?

Reset phone - press both home and sleep/wake buttons until the Apple logo reappears.
If that doesn't work, try recovery:
    1. Update to latest iTunes (10.3.1)
    2. Connect phone to a USB port directly on the computer
    3. Press both home and sleep/wake buttons until the Apple logo appears, then continue pressing the home button alone until iTunes detects the phone in Recovery mode.
    4. Follow the prompts to restore.

Add me to the list of people furious with Apple about this problem...
...I have just got back from a 2 week holiday in Spain, and on day 3 of the holiday my iPhone rebooted itself and stuck at the Apple logo.
What's more annoying, I'd purchased a data abroad plan from o2 for £50 and hardly used it because I couldn't use my iPhone because it was stuck on the **** Apple logo. o2 will not refund the plan I purchased because I had started to use it (about 2.3MB to be precise).
Good job my girlfriend had her trusty Sony Ericsson phone because at least it WORKS as a phone, unlike this **** iPhone 3G which only has one use - as an expensive paperweight.
Come on Apple, at least admit there is a problem and show your loyal customers that you are actually aware there is a serious problem that is causing your iPhones to become utterly useless.
I'm seriously thinking of gettting rid of this iPhone and getting a cheap no frills phone - at least I can use it to make calls.

  • HT1386 After updating my Iphone 4s with the new software, my phone will not show up in Itunes. I have tried several things but nothing works. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Help! I have recently updated the software on my Iphone 4s and now my Iphone will not show up in Itunes. Can anyone please help! I am very frustrated, I have tried several things but I cannot get it to show up

Double check the version of iTunes on your computer. You must have iTunes 11.1 or later.

  • Iphone won't boot past apple logo

I'm the repair tech at my local radioshack and have a customer phone I can't figure out. When I attempt to power it on, I get the apple logo for 5 seconds, then nothing. I've attempted to put it into DFU mode, and attempted recovery mode, at no avail. I've even tried to boot into safe mode, and the same thing occurs. No matter the power source (wall/computer), I get the same results. Phone is out of warranty, so do not recommend that I bring it to apple - they won't help me here. Any ideas? I need the help!
    iPhone 5s

I See a lot of those on my bench. The cause is the charge IC is burned out usually by a non Apple cable. The only way to get it to fully boot is to put a fresh charged battery in. Once a new fully charged battery is in it will continue to work fine including charging. But if you ever power off the device or it turns off due to dead battery it will not boot up on its own And you will need to swap batteries again.

  • IPhone 3G stuck at the Apple logo screen; will not boot!

My iPhone 3G has been working all day. I rebooted it because it was hanging when trying to use some apps, and now it's hung at the Apple logo. It will not boot fully. I have tried to reboot the phone many times but I get the same problem. I let it sit there for 30 minutes and it does nothing.
Anyone else have this problem? Any ideas on how to fix it without doing a Restore?
    Ethan

Oh, they know! I've had all of the above issues, tried every and all remedies several times, even uninstalled and reinstalled itunes. My phone froze up totally for over 24 hours after several attempts to sync and itunes closed then I had to reset, not even an apple logo, just a dim lit screen. Went to the genius bar, they replaced my phone. The tech said apple knows and is working on it.
Note: tried to book an appointment online, none available so I went and signed the standby list.
Luckily someone didn't show up, because they said some people wait for hours.
The new one is doing the same thing. I have yet to sync fully. my contacts & calendar sync OK, a few apps, beyond that nothing-no music, photos, podcasts, ringtones. Itunes hangs during syncing an application and iphone times out. the only option is to close itunes and reset the phone. Upon fully reset, maybe 1 or 2 apps are installed, nothing else. Resetting takes forever, it has frozen again with the apple logo for about 12 hours, and usually about 10-30 min each reset. I have restored the new one twice. Problem is, when it freezes up or times out, itunes won't recognize the iphone at all, it says no iphone detected.
I am now going to restore the phone again, and not attempt to install any apps until this issue is resolved. I have already spent hours on this, and really tried everything. I would rather have my music, ringtones, photos, podcasts etc than a few apps. Shame, because i've spend at least $50 in addition to numerous free apps.
Side note: I scheduled another appointment at the genius bar when my phone was out of commission for 12 hours, they are booked for three days in advance so the issue is still widespread. Luckily I was able to finally get itunes to recognize my phone and restore.

  • IPhone 3G - Phone goes black and won't go past apple logo

I have an Iphone 3G... It will work fine and then the screen will go black... when I plug it in to the charger it will display the apple logo but will not cycle past the apple logo screen, then it will go black again and come back on and repeat this cycle. If I let it sit it will sometimes be able to cycle through and will allow me to restore... but without warning it will go black and I have to hope that I can get past the logo screen to do another reset. Does anyone have any ideas... is something internal shifting or is the battery getting old (screen shows full battery power) The back of the phone does seem warm. Please help... I took it to the genius' at the apple store and they were no help... only told me that it was out of warranty and I had to give up $199.00 for a new phone, not even for the 3GS, the same iphone 3G. I'd rather wait till June??? when the new Iphone comes out.

Well, it seems as though you answered your own question. While it is apparent the phone has an issue, since it is out of warranty, Apple will not replace it, except under their out of warranty replacement policy, which is the $199 they quoted you, and that is for a refurbished phone. The only other option I'm aware of it to try and force it to restore, read this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808
Since you are not willing to do the out of warranty replacement, which I can understand given the possible introduction of a new handset in the near future, if the article I linked for you doesn't work, you may have to live with a different phone for a short time.

  • Won't start past apple logo, won't boot from install disc

mbp penryn 2.4 core 2 duo won't boot past apple logo. Running mtn lion 10.8... inserted Snow Leopard install disc, held down C key, only get a grey screen.Recently installed new HD, (seagate 750 Hybrid), upped ram from 2x2 to 2x4. All has been running very smoothly (and much cooler) for the past 3 weeks. Then this, prompted apparently by the mac going to sleep w/o being plugged in. Ran battery down, I suppose? Happens frequently.
    Any suggestions?

    ds,
"You might have ruined the RAM by handling it and touching the contacts.
Once you put new good RAM into the machine, reset SMC and PRAM then boot it up."
On the odd chance that I did ruin my ram I replaced w/ 4gb brand new ram, reset SMC and PRAM, then attempted to boot. Still a grey screen. Also re-attempted to put mbp into target mode, but no luck there either, nor with ejecting the Snow Leopard install disc via option/trackpad method, both on startup and while running, and no luck there either. I have a second Penryn mbp that I could salvage for a spare part if I knew what the problem might be. So far I get the idea from your responses that my machine SHOULD be rebooting, but for some reason isn't.
    If this helps:
I hear, consistently on attempting startup, fans powering up, then two short whirrs as if a drive head is moving,  then when the fans quiet down after 30-45 seconds, another short but different whirr, then only quiet fans and a grey screen.
Thanks in advance for any reply.
