Iphone 5 wont charge

hey
my iphone 5 wont really charge with any offical charger (3/4/5/5s) or any 3rd party chargers, via usb or usb 2.0 ive cleaned the charging ports it just seems to charge randomly when it feels like it what can i do to fix this,
i have about 5 cables all act the same
any help is appreciated

Yep it could be one of those three. But a reboot of your phone might get it working again. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.
If the phone still wont charge after the reboot, try a different cord and charger to eliminate those. Also make sure the outlet is good.
If you do not have any way to try other chargers and cables, take all the works back to an Apple Store. Make an appointment first.

Apple does not repair devices at all.
As stated, you can elect to find a local repair shop to do the work, but understand that Apple does not sell parts either.
Alternatively, you can choose to do an Out of Warranty replacement via Apple and get a 90 day warranty on the replacement device.
Another option would be to replace the device with a more current model.

Most likely a hardware problem, which it may be possible to fix. Get a magnifier and look in the dock connector on the bottom of the phone. If there is dirt or moisture in it clean it with a dry toothbrush. If a pin is bent try to straighten it. Also try a different cable. If all of these fail the phone is broken.

How are you charging the device? Are you using the Apple brand provided charger & cable? Are you connecting it to a USB port on a computer or directly to a power outlet? How long are you leaving the device to sit an charge?

If you have a 3G, you cannot be running 4.3.1
iOS4.3.x and higher requires a 3GS.

My Iphone wont charge i have never dropped it or spilt water on it its been a case eversince i purchased it the battery has now gone so it wont turn oni have tried charging through the laptop and through the mains with apple approved chargers and still nothing can anyone help please?

If the device battery has been depleated to the point there is no charge in the device - it MAY take some time before you get an indication that the device is charging. Please charge the device into a know good charging system ie... good USB cord and charging adapter. Leave it there for a period of 2-3 hours to see if the charging indicator does not show up on the front of the devices screen.

Ignore the hysteria about destroying any Apple support by taking screwdrivers and levering devices to install batteries supplied from goodness knows where to you iPhone. Apple parts are NOT available from the Internet.
Logic: the charger is faulty. You might have covered this.
The cable is faulty. Have you tried a different cable?
The docking port is blocked By pocket fluff or other detritus. Have you checked this, and/ or tried to clean it out?
The phone is faulty: refer it to Apple.

I was wondering can they fix iphone 5 cause today i was on the ferry and a big wave hit the ferry and my whole clothes got wet now the iphone wont charge or no sound at all

Could be new or refurbished, there's no way to tell...they all come in a plain white box. Doesn't really matter though, as all refurbished iPhones get new batteries & cases.
You get a 90 day warranty or the balance of your original warranty, whichever is greater.

Blowing in both the iphone and the cord and every other opening
Plugging it into my computer
Downloading and installing the new itunes
AND I used my friends charger which works perfectly fine on her phone

I don't know which iPhone you have, but yeah, it sounds like you have an issue with your phone. If it is over a year old, it's out of warranty, and they won't replace it. If it's newer than a year, they'll replace it if there's a batter/charging issue.

If you have alternate ipod cables available try those.
If you are using a dock see if you can bypass it and connect directly
Check for debris in the dock connector at the bottom
Check to make sure your case isn't doing something weird to the power button
Try some basic troubleshooting

Hmmm, I'd try to see if it can connect to another computer. Try the library, a public college, etc., just to see if it can do anything, to rule out the issue being your computer.
If it cannot connect to any other computer, then it'd be an issue with your iPhone.

Help-iphone wont charge

Last night I plugged my iphone into the wall outlet to charge and sat it down. I came back an hour later and noticed that it wasn't charging. So I plugged it into my computer and itunes couldn't reconize it and it also wouldn't charge. I went to the cingular store and bought a car charger. I plugged my phone into it and it started charging but it didn't have the charging icon on the phone. I'm stumped as to why itunes won't reconize my phone and why won't it work with the wall adapter??

I updated my iphone 4s to the current ISO 7.0.3 yesterday morning after my phone had been charging overnight.I had a full battery after the update but when i came to put on charge again last night it wouldnt charge. I have tried 3 different charging stations but nothing is charging it. Can anyone help?

I have the same problem. I have an iPhone 4 and after upgrading to iOS 7.03 (my first upgrade to iOS 7), my phone volume is almost inaudible. I have the same problem with the headphones for phone calls. Listening to music on my headphones works fine. I have also done a restore and set up as new phone and it doesn't fix the problem though it wasted 4 hours.
