Iphone 5c - missed call but no ringing

My iphone 5c won't ring (more often than not) when there is an incoming call. It then says I have a missed call even though the phone never rang. The phone isn't on mute and sometimes the phone will ring... but very often it doesn't. Any idea why this is happening?

Check: Settings - Do not Disturb.

FaceTime showing as missed call but not ringing on iPod Touch

I activated my daughter's iPod touch and iMessage and it worked fine. We could face time and iMessage each other. However about 1/2 hour later, iMessages fail and FaceTime does not ring. However, the call does show up as missed. Safari works and email works. Wifi is connected. Any ideas why this is happening?

Try a Reset.
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
Note: Data will not be affected.

Can anyone help with facetime? im getting missed calls but it doesnt actually tell me i have an incoming call....and the person im trying to contact gets exactly the same.....just missed calls?

I've noticed that once you miss a call on FaceTime on a desktop Mac, it won't work properly again until you restart the machine.
I sent in Feedback so we'll see how that goes.

IPHONE 6 Missed Calls Alerts???

In Iphone 6 or in IOS 8, Is there any option to have missed calls alerts like message alerts?
Also it has alert battery is full charged?

I'm a pretty experienced user and have Allow Notifications On and Alerts (rather than banners) On. I expect that to show an alert when I get a call. I have a 5S and I am running 8.1. I've reset (and hard reset) the phone multiple times. I've upgraded the OS too.
Here's what happens: I'm at work, the phone is plugged in, the Mail app is open, I can see the screen.
Then, while I'm on the land line, the iPhone rings but I can't answer it. After the caller hangs up, there is no alert on the screen. I think there should be.
This gets worse when instead of being in the office, I step out for one minutes, the iPhone rings and I don't hear it because I'm talking, I come back in o office, glance at phone which is still unlocked and still open in the Mail app (could be any app), and there's no indication of a missed call beyond the badge changing (from 11 to 12 say). I've missed important calls this way.
Not sure when this alert behavior changed. Before IOS8 I think.

I keep having missed calls on my iPhone 5 without it even ringing. I've been told it says i'm on the phone when i'm not. What can I do to enable calls to get through. I've done the latest update. I also can't connect to the internet when i'm out. Help me.

Hi, I have a blackberry 8100, one day I did a reset of my blackberry removing the battery and then putting again and turning on my device, then, one person called my two times, but I didn't answer, and then like it's normal, it shows me an icon with the number 2 and an icon of a phone with an x, that means that I had two missed calls. I checked and were the lost calls that made that person, but the ERROR is that happened 15 days ago, and the icons stills here, for example if somebody calls me and I don't answer it shows me that I have 3 missed calls, and no 1 missed call like it will be normal. What can I Do? after that I have made resets of my blackberry but the number two stills there, please help...

If you have a rogue New Message icon on your Homescreen, or a negative count (-1), any one of these solutions could clear it, or reset it to zero:
Try these options:
Hard Reset the BlackBerry by holding ALT, CAP (right Shift key), and DEL (or pulling out and reinserting the battery)
View Messages > Saved Messages
View Messages > View Folders, check each folder (missed calls, SMS in and out boxes, MMS in and out boxes, Saved, browser, phone logs etc)
Scroll to top of message folder, over the date heading, click or press menu to MARK PRIOR OPEN
Change your theme and see if it persists, and change back to your desired theme. (Options > Theme > select.)
Wipe and reload your OS.

Iphone 4 makes calls but screen is black and the power button doesnt work. never synced to computer or photo stream. I dont want to lose my photos

So, my Iphone 4 now has a black screen. Before it did this I unlocked the screen (which has a passcode) try to open instagram and the screen flashed and went black. I can make calls and it seems to send messages but I dont know for sure because the screen is black. The power button (sleep) does not work and when I try to reset the phone it makes a call. I never synced it to a computer or Itunes and I didnt start photo stream. I want to preserve the pictures because it has photos of family members that have passed. Is there a way to get the photos?? Help please!

If you have attempted the reset, which is holding the home button and sleep/wake button, was it still connected to the computer? Have you tried to do that when not connected. You stated it never came on, how long did you hold the buttons together? If you cannot get it to connect to iTunes then you would not be able to restore the device. You can see if you can put the device into Recovery Mode by following the instructions in this support document. If that does not work, then you are correct, make an appointment at the Apple Store. TS3367 Can't receive FaceTime calls, but can ring out.

Family have two iPads, and are having difficulty with one of them.
With one we can't receive FaceTime requests, no sound, no pop up, no acknowledgement that someone is trying to contact.

People have been reporting issues all weekend. There may be nothing wrong with your device, rather something wrong with the service itself and on Apple's end

My phone will not ring or vibrate when my boyfriend calls me but will when anyone else calls me. it used to ring when he called but then all of a sudden stopped. i have not changed any settings or even the ringtone for my boyfriends calls, so i dont understand what the issue is. all of my settings for volume, ringtone, vibration, etc are turned on.

That is pretty strange, bro0klynbridge. But you've come to the right place for answers. Checking the contact settings to make sure you don't have the calls set to go to voicemail for his contact as Ann154 mentioned is a good start. When you select his name in your contact list, press menu and look for the "All calls to voicemail" box. Your phone will still show a missed call but the call will almost immediately go into your voicemail if the box is checked. Also, try to edit his contact listing and select a different ringtone to ensure his line isn't set to the silent option or possibly a ringtone that's been removed from your phone.

I am missing calls since the new update was laoded on my I5s

I downloaded the new update and now I miss most of my calls. I look down and there is a missed call but my phone never rings and yes teh ringer is on. It rings very rarely now. I have missed most of my calls overthe last few days since I put the upgrade on. Any advice?

Questions re: missed calls iphone5

Past few days (so far not today) have had numerous missed calls. No ring, just discover later that a call was missed. Caller tells me it either rang a few times then went to vm or sometimes immediately to vm. I want my iphone 5 to notify me and then remind me every few seconds that I have a missed call (missed calls are more important to me and my business than a text message, which does remind me). No settings to set this up. Summary: two issues... (1) why missed calls; and (2) how to be notified and reminded.

HB-Mike, I know that this would concern me just the same and we definitely want to get this figured out for you. Does this happen in all locations or just specific areas? Have not had a Nokia for over 10 years and am beginning to remember why...
I have just bought an X3-02 and am missing so many text messages, not returning missed calls etc. How can I programme this *** phone so that the phone rings every x minutes when I receive a text or a missed call? I'm often in meetings at work and unless I have my phone under my nose I don't see/hear a missed message. I've tried to download "remind me" from the Ovi store, but of course it's not compatible with my phone. Please help, I'm going crazy trying to find a solution. This phone is going to finish at the bottom of a lake very soon if you can't help.

With the option "Light effects" turned on, when I receive an SMS message, but I miss it first time around, the keyboard light slowly turns on and off. So if I leave my phone on my desk at work, when I come back, the lighting effects allow me to see if a message is there. I guess this also works for missed calls, but I haven't had any missed calls yet !
Actually, I too was frustrated that there is no reminder option. But I find this method of reminding better. My phone doesn't beep now all the time I miss a message, which suits me better, as in the office I work in, that is annoying for everyone else.
The lighting effects work for me, and I'm happy with the X3.

No Missed Calls AirPlane Mode Bug

When I put my iPhone in AirPlane I don't recive calls or iMessages. (Normal)
When I disable AirPlane mode, any calls that I recived while AirPlane mode was on don't appear at all. So it shows no missed calls, but Messages do show up. I have tested this with several diffrent Phones & I just wan't to know if this is normal or is there something wrong?

I think you have some confusion. What you are asking is not supported.
There is (1) "phone" based missed call notification and (2) "network" supported missed call notification.
(1) - the normal usage where if you phone is ON and has a signal, you get a call but you dont answer, it shows up in the missed call list.
now if your phone is off or with no signal, you will not get any missed calls since the phone never received the calls in the first place.
(2) - this is offered only by some carriers in some parts of the world where even if your phone is off, if someone calls you, the network send a missed call notification once you reconnect to the network (like SMS)
so your phone's behaviour is normal.
