IPhone 5c powers off after being locked

I had an iphone 5c gave to me as a present...only problem was, was the screen was broke and they figured since i liked fixing things it would be a cool project for me....The screen was doing a phantom touch(which is where the phone will do its own thing by itself.). I realized the phone died fairly quickly and also realized it was turning on and off by itself...and I figured since it was doing the whole phantom touching thing that it might just be that making it do it, but I got the screen fixed, and now i realize why the phone was turning on and off......
When the screen is locked and nothing going on in the background(EX: Music Playing) the phone, at first, would shut off after about 25 seconds....I bought a new battery, thinking that was my problem, but to no avail. But it has made a difference....Now my phone will stay one for around a minute before shutting itself off and the only way to get it to turn back on is to hold down the power and home button until the apple logo appears(which takes longer than normal.) Or sometimes it will turn back on by itself.
I've tried Restarting, Rebooting, Restoring backup, and Restoring New....and obviously a NEW battery. but none of which has worked. I also updated the phone from ios 7.1.1 to ios 8.3 thinking it might help but no.
So guys, PLEASE HELP!!!! Thank you!

  • IPod Touch shuts off after being locked 4 a while

Hello, My iPod touch 4th generation will shut off after being locked. Sometimes when I lock it for 3 minutes it'll shut off I will click the sleep/wake button or home button and it'll do nothing, So I have to reset it by holding sleep/wake button for 30 seconds or something. One time I set a alarm for 3 minutes and it went off and it showed on the iPod's screen and froze! What I did was: settings, general, auto-lock and put to never because if I'll let it lock for more than 3 or 5 minutes it'll shut off. Any one know a reason this might be happening?
    Thanks for reading

    Try:
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

    - Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
    - Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion.
    Learn about LCIs and corrosion.
    - Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
    - After at least 15 minutes, if:
                   - The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.

  • iPhone Preventing iPhone from powering off during an app...

    Hello all,
Back with you for yet another question...
Anybody knows how to prevent the iPhone from powering off if no input while an app is running ?
I'm thinking of building an app that would launch an alarm when motion is detected, but the app would need to be run without the iPhone powering off...
Thanks for any ideas, I haven't found anything yet, but I know it's possible as many "official" apps support this...
    Thanks.
    Serge

Ok, we're talking about the same thing. It's called "system sleep" in the docs, and the user setting under Settings->General is called "Auto-Lock" in English. This is how to turn Auto-Lock off for your application:
    [UIApplication sharedApplication].idleTimerDisabled = YES;
Here is the precaution from the UIApplication reference:
Important: You should set this property only if necessary and should be sure to reset it to NO when
the need no longer exists. Most applications should let the system turn off the screen when the idle
timer elapses. This includes audio applications. With appropriate use of Audio Session Services,
playback and recording proceed uninterrupted when the screen turns off. The only applications that
should disable the idle timer are mapping applications, games, or similar programs with sporadic
    user interaction.

  • Windows 7 64 bit won't resume after being locked

    Hello,
My Windows 7 Pro computer will not resume after being locked.
I use a Domain controller based on Windows server 2008 R2, and if I login with my username on any other PC, I do not have this Problem.
When I lock it to go out for some reason, it won't resume at all. I left it on the welcome screen for an hour or so, and it didn't start.
Do you guys have any idea what might be causing this ?
Thank you very much for your help

If this behavior is not exhibited on any other systems in your environment, I believe it's safe to assume the issue is with the local client.
First things first: check that you have the latest drivers for your system. I know this seems like a canned answer, but I've seen hundreds of cases where a missing or legacy disk controller driver causes all manner of strange behavior on an otherwise healthy
    system.
Years ago, when SSDs first starting becoming popular, I purchased a handful of them from a specific vendor. We started seeing issues with resuming from S3 sleep that confounded us for months. We found out that the vendor used a specific brand and chipset
on their SSD controllers that wound up causing firmware faults when Windows was resumed; even to the point that we had to shut down the PC, unplug it, and let the caps drain before we could boot it again!
We wound up replacing the drives with a more mainstream/popular brand and the issues never happened again, but the problem was hardware related. Your post reminded me of those few months of confusion.
Check that all of your drivers are up to date, esp. disk and video, and don't rely on the Microsoft generic drivers. If you can find the drivers for your mobo/gfx cards, prefer that route.

  • Iphone 3g shuts off after the apple loading screen then cuts back on

Iphone 3g shuts off after the apple loading screen then cuts back on by its self but when i connect it to a charger it works fine also my on/off button is unresponsive (i havent dropped it or wet it so im confused why its doing this)

    Welcome to the discussions,
normally you could try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button until the Apple logo comes back. But since the sleep button is unresponsive, try to restore "as new iPhone", if necessary without using the backup afterwards, in case the backup contains corrupt data.

To make sure that this is not software related, set it back to factory settings, without using any backup data afterwards. Set up the rest of the personal settings manually and test the phone. • Using the Cyclops speed camera app, the sound on my iPhone 4s switches off after a few minutes. Any ideas?

when using the Cyclops speed camera app the sound on my iPhone 4s switches off after a short while. If I close the app and reopen it, there's still no sound. If I restar the phone and open Cyclops I get sound "welcome to Cyclops" or whatever the greeting is. Has anyone got any ideas?

I've taken several Express devices apart in the past to experiment with them. The internal components warm up quite a bit in the first 10-15 seconds. They continue to heat up after this.  It takes 3-4 minutes or so before the heat transfers to the outer case for dissipation.
Nothing is certain, but I'm 95% sure that this is your issue.  But, trying to find a microscopic break in a circuit board trace is, as I mentioned, a real longshot. If you have the time and have done things like this before, it might be worth a shot.
I guess the bottom line is that even if this is not the issue, the device will still need to be replaced since Apple does not offer repairs. There are no software or firmware fixes for somthing like this.

The phone "beeps" only if "Play Sound" is ON and after clicking "Send" (even if no message).  Just locating the phone doesn't make it beep.

  • How do i force a guest account to Auto log off after being inactive for a period of time?

I have a 2010 21" iMac running OS X Snow Leopard (10.6.8) in a hotel's guest lounge. I want to have it log off of the guest account after being inactive for 5 mins so that it clears the session info if the last person who used it did not log off when they were done (***this happens very often***).
I tried using the "System Preferences > Security> Log off when inactive for X minutes" option but this brings up the "Delete files and log off" dialogue which unless someone makes a selection just stays there and doesn't timeout, essentially stopping the logoff process.
How can i bypass that dialogue and force the system to log off the Guest User to avoid any issues with other guest seeing info from the previous user?

    Hi daniel,
I don't believe it's possible to do what you want, unless someone could write an Applescript for it. I suspect the best route for now is the old fashioned way, paper and marker, warning guests to log off or their info will be public.
