Iphone 5s bricked the day after I got it...

I just bought an Iphone yesterday and have hardly even used it. A couple of hours ago I downloaded the latest update for the phone. Seemingly randomly, I try to take my phone out of sleep mode and it wouldn't work. I try powering my phone back on and it also wouldn't work. Itunes also does not recognize my iphone. I'm extremely frustrated and might end up not buying an apple product again. Any help on what I should do here?

If it doesn't power on, the computer will not see it.
Plug it in to charge for at least 30 minutes.
Press & hold both Home & Power fro at least 15 seconds to see if ot starts up.
If not, take it back to place of purchase or an Apple store.

It's as simple as this:
Open iTunes.
Click iTunes Store on the left side of the screen.
Look on the left side - click Purchased (it has a NEW graphic next to it)
You will see everything you have every purchased from iTunes. You can redownload any of it.

DO You all think that all iphone 4 will sell out within the first day even if they are selling them at best buy, wal mart, and radio shack. What do you guys think my chances will be of getting a 32 gb black ip4 the day after launch?

My friend got an iPhone the day after launch at the Apple Store in NH last year. He was at the store when it opened and had no issues.
It really depends on where you live and what time of the day you try to buy one.

The game you mentioned does not save online. If you have made a backup using "iCloud" or "iTunes backup" then you may be able to restore to that last save point on your device which will include whatever you had for currency at the time when the save was created.
Unfortunately, we do not have a way to restore game progress, this is done by the user on the device itself using the backup and restore method for the entire device.
If you have not performed a backup save for your device before this problem happened and you have lost currency from purchases, please contact the iTunes store customer service to inquire about your purchase and request help regarding this loss of currency issue.. Apple does not allow developers to handle billing issues.

One way to test is to Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, Test for problem in Safe Mode...
PS. Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive
Reboot, test again.
If it only does it in Regular Boot, then it could be some hardware problem like Video card, (Quartz is turned off in Safe Mode), or Airport, or 3rd party add-on, Check System Preferences>Accounts>Login Items window to see if it or something relevant is listed.
Check the System Preferences>Other Row, for 3rd party Pref Panes.
Also look in these if they exist, some are invisible...

iPhone warranty is not international, but is valid only in
the country of original purchase. Since you bought the iPhone
in the UK, your warranty is valid anywhere in the EU but not
in Egypt. You can gry taking it to an Apple authorized reseller,
but don't be surprised if they tell you they cannot do anything.

I updated my iphone 4 to ios 5.01. on the second day after upgrading (recharged the phone during the night) the phone shut off alone and there is no way to start it up. I plugged it to the computer and iTunes does not recognize it

You got it downloaded and I assume you mean it is installed as well. It was buggy for me.
I had to close and restarted iTunes before I could use it properly.
Then, I had to unplug and replug in my phone before it recognises it.
Just had to try everything. As final choice, update over the air. I try to avoid it as it tends to have more problems than a tethered update.

The find my iphone app is not needed and has nothing to do with finding the iphone on which it is installed. The app simply allows you to find your other devices from the iphone - not find the iphone it is on.
Find my iphone is a feature, no app required. You do have to set it up on the iphone itself. If you did not , then you cannot track it.
The serial number is of no use in locating an iphone.

I am being harassed by customer service the day after my bill is due every month.

At least 6 phone calls every day, beginning at 5am, followed by text messages. All you have to you is tell me once, via text, that my payment is due. I indicated on my Verizon Wireless account online that my preferred method of contact is text message. I do not appreciate the harassment, as a customer of 11 years, who always pays the bill without disconnection. Here's a novel idea - Leave me a voicemail, automated or not, and you will get the message across. Of course I'm not going to answer the phone at 5am, but that is no reason to call me every 2 hours for the rest of the day! Calling every 2 hours is not going to magically make more money appear in my bank account. Yesterday it was 5:43am, 9:10am, 10:21am, and 11:24am. I answered the one at 11:24am to indicate to the service rep that I was planning to pay my bill the following day, but just waiting for a check to clear in my bank account. When the service rep actually picked up from the automated calling system, it sounded like she was on an airplane rifling through a big stack of papers in a microphone. I couldn't hear a single thing she said, and just tried to yell over the background noise that I was paying my bill the next day. Finally I had to tell her that I was hanging up because I couldn't hear hear at all. Today so far I've been called at 5:43am, 7:36am, 9:36am. I paid my bill at 9:30, and just got another call at 10:07am and 10:14am. No voicemails, of course. I do not appreciate this treatment, and it disgusts me to be harassed on this level. It's inhuman.

mrhelper If I am paying my bill late, it does not mean I am deserving of harassment. It means I deserve to be called and notified of my late payment and asked for said payment. It does not mean I deserve calls every 2 hours beginning at 5am. I'm talking about harassment here. It does not mean that you don't still owe the money, but it means you are entitled to being treated like a human being about it. There are laws being broken here. I'm filling out a report with the FTC, and hopefully they will consider changing their methods of contacting their customers. My iPhone 5 battery runs down very fast at nights while not in use. Whole going off to bed if the battery shows 85% by morning 6:00 it's switched off.
