Iphone 5S'.  Can't connect to the WIFI at our gym.

Both my daughter and I upgraded to the Iphone 5s. We can connect to our home WIFI fine.  However, we cannot connect to the WIFI at our gym.  I can connect at the GYM with my Ipad mini running IOS7 (no cellular service on Ipad)
Both phones see the gym network and we are asked for th user name.  We enter it and get the "connected to ...." message.  But there is not a WIFI symbol or connection.
I went into the WIFI settings for the gym network on the phone, and sometimes see an IP address and subnet address bit no router info or DNS.  I tried resetting network connections and "forgetthis network" and tried to reconnect but had no luck.  The same is true for trining "renew  lease"
I have not had problems connecting to other WIFI networks
I am out of options.
Anythoughts?

I’ve had lots of issues with the Wifi on my 5S. While it works fine at home (all be it a lot slower than my 4S at making initial connections), at work it refused to connect. No amount of “forgetting networks” or “Reset Setting” would make a difference!
In the end I manually configure the network.
Settings -> Wifi -> Other
Manually enter the Wifi networks name (SSID)
Selected the correct Security  (Most likely WPA or WPA2)
Enter Password  (Option appear once you select the security type)
I now appear to have stable access to Wifi at work. Can’t guarantee it will work for you be is worth a try.

  • IPhone 5s can't connect to Home-Wifi?

Hello I have a iPhone 5s gold 16GB AT&T and it's not able to connect to my home-wifi.
I got it Dec 24, 2013. It was always able to connect to my old wifi with (WEP, default name, default password, no encryption)
I now have a new Wifi Network which has very high security compared to my old one. My wireless provider is Comcast, Salinas.
My new wireless network info is: (HOME-8752, WPA2-Personal, Encryption Type: AES, 16-character network security key, Federal Information Processing Standards: Disabled). My HP Pavilion g6 laptop and PS3 can connect to the WiFi perfectly fine, while my iPhone 5s cannot. Can someone please help me? I've already called Comcast about my PC WiFi not working and it works now, but my iPhone 5s doesn't work.
Also, a bit of a side-question but if anyone knows should I enable FIPS, what is it? Does that affect my iPhone 5s? Does FIPS make it more secure? From what I've read it's for government affiliates. Not sure though.

Wifi on iPhone 4 can't connect

    Additional things to try.
Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
On your iPad go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset network settings and see if that enables you to connect.

  • My iphone suddenly can't connect to any wifi :( Please help me !!

The wifi sign appears on the top left but then the circle in front of the wifi name keeps running. I've waited for a long time and tried resetting the network but it still didn't work. Please help me if anyone knows something

Some people who experience issues connecting to or even seeing there Wireless network should follow these steps.
These steps are just a guideline and its not 100% that it will fix your issue.
Mainly, if the issue persists, its possible there is an issue with your iOS settings or a hardware failure within your iPhone or iPad, specifically the Wifi adapter.
You would want to follow these articles to do a reset & restore prior to saying it is a hardware issue.
    #1: Reset: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1430
    #2: Restore: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414
You will need to access your Admin control panel for your router.
If you have an Airport Extreme BaseStation, you just need to open the Airport Admin Utility found in Applications > Utilities Folder.
Enter your credentials and you will have access to the settings from there.
For a PC: Do NOT use the CD that came with your router. That is used for people who do not know how to setup a router properly and these settings will not be available for you in most cases.
If you are using anything other than an Airport BaseStation:
    Open a web browser:
    In the address bar, type:
192.168.1.1 (Mainly used for Asus, Linksys, etc) or 192.168.0.1 (D-link,Belkin)
How to figure out what the IP address is to type in?
    Windows:
Hold down the windows key, then press R. This brings up the run box. In that box type "cmd" (without the quotes) and press enter. In the black box that pops up, type "ipconfig" (without quotes) then hit enter. Your default gateway is the IP address for your router. It will start with 192.168.....
Take that number and put it into the address bar in your browser and hit enter. It will then ask you for a user name and password. For linksys, it's admin for both. If you have another brand, just google "default password for ******" replacing the asterisks with the brand name of the router. Once you have entered the correct user name and password, you're there.
    Mac:
1.From the Apple menu, select System Preferences.
2.In System Preferences, from the View menu, select Network.
3.Select the appropriate port. For example, choose Ethernet for broadbandconnections, AirPort for wireless, or Internal Modem for dial-up.
4.Click Advanced... , and in the sheet that opens, click the TCP/IP tab.
The number next to "Router:" is your default gateway.
Once you get into your admin panel do these setting changes.
1.On the router change the channel for the 2.4mhz band to channel 1, 6, or 11 (recommended), rather than auto.
2.Also set that channel width to 20hz only, rather than 20hz or 40hz (Auto)
3.Make sure Security is set to WPA/WPA2-Personal. Anything else will cause issues. (of course, make sure you know your password for security)
4.Make sure to Apply/Save these settings. Sometimes the wireless connectivity will go out during this change and will come back on within 15-30 seconds.
5.On the iPhone/iPad go to Settings > Wi fi > click the blue arrow beside the network > Select Forget network
6.Go to Settings > general > reset > reset network settings
7.Power the phone off and on. Connect again

  • My iphone 4S is not connecting to the wifi!!

all the my other devices are connecting but not my iphone!!it tells me that no networks found!!
I've tried restoring the network setting and reseting the phone but nth have worked!

    Hello aya133,
For this I would suggest using this article named iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections found here http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1398.
Be sure that you are in range of your Wi-Fi router (access point).
Tap Settings > Wi-Fi and turn Wi-Fi off and then on again. If unable to do so, see this article.
Confirm that your Wi-Fi router and Cable or DSL modem are connected to power, turned on, and indicate that they are connected to the Internet. If not, refer to your network administrator or ISP for assistance.
    Restart your iOS device.
Tap Settings > Wi-Fi and locate the Wi-Fi network to which you are connected. Then tap > and Forget this Network. Try to connect to your desired Wi-Fi network again.
Note: You will need to enter your Wi-Fi password again if your desired network requires one.
Turn your Wi-Fi router off and then on again2. If your ISP also provides cable or phone service, check with them before attempting this step to avoid interruption of service.
Update your device to the latest version of software.
Update your Wi-Fi router to the latest firmware2.For AirPort Base Stations, see this article for information about firmware updates.
And this section toward the bottom if needed:
Unable to connect to a Wi-Fi network
Verify that you are attempting to connect your desired Wi-Fi network.
Make sure you are entering your Wi-Fi password correctly.Passwords may be case sensitive and may contain numbers or special characters.
Reset network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
Note: This will reset all network settings including: previously connected Wi-Fi networks and passwords, recently used Bluetooth accessories, VPN and APN settings.
    All the very best,
    Sterling
