IPhone 5s Default Text Size

I have an iPhone 5s and am wondering if there is any way to increase the default text size.  By this, I mean everything from the font size of the text underneath apps, but especially for things like in the App Store.  The extremely small text size within the App Store, iTunes, etc. is very frustrating to me.  Thanks in advance for your help.

For the specific items you list, no. You can make some adjustments that might help, however: http://help.apple.com/iphone/7/#/iph73b89c6
The reference for larger text will only impact content within apps that support dynamic text (messages or email, for example).

  • Default text size in Compressor is too small for normal human eye

Is there any way to change the text size in Compressor 4 in the windows?  I can't find any.
The normal default text size is way too small for any normal human being eye to read clearly.
Please, have mercy on us, whoever designed the tiny fonts!   Not fair to the rest of us . . .

Well, guess we folk with not-too-good vision will simply have to keep on trucking the best we can, eh?   We can't enlarge text, so as a result we can't  use software like Compressor like the rest of the population.  Sad to say, especially with a company like Apple . . .
Yeah, well I gave the Apple Compressor Team my feedback, just like I've done the last 3 months with other things, then of course the feedback from us all melts into the either, and we never really know if anyone reads it, like they say.  Me thinks not.  This is the only feedback I'll ever get, I'm afraid:

  • Can I change default text size in CS5

Every new document seems to open with a default text size of 12 pt. (or 0.167 inches). I am a sign maker and my typical artboard size is often 120" x 120" or larger.
Is there a way to change the default text size so that new documents open with a text size of, say, 1 inch (or 3 inches, etc)?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    thanks,
    Duncan McLean

Open the New Document Profile that you use the most (from HD>Users><yourname>>Library>Application Support>Adobe>Adobe Illustrator CS5>en_US>New Document Profiles) or the equivalent path in Windows. Then go to Window>Type>Character Styles and double click on the [Normal Character Style] at the top of the list and modify the settings there to your liking. Save the document and restart AI.

  • IWork '09 Change Document default text size

New to iWork. Is there a way to change the default text size in iWork '09 without doing the highlighting thing? I want all text in all documents to be the same size & type.
    Thanks
    John

You will need to create and save your own template, set to whatever you want.
The default style is Body :
    +Menu > View > Show Styles Drawer+
+Select some text > style it as you wish > Styles Drawer > click on the red triangle next to Body > Redefine style from selection+
Save as Template and set that to open by default in Pages' Preferences.

  • Default text size for a scaling/auto field

    Hi All,
Im currently using Adobe Acrobat X Pro and am working in a PDF all written in size 10 font. I have text fields that need to be entered and scale if too much text is written. I've set the font size as 'Auto' and this scales without issue, however when the field is first entered and not yet scaled (as in, there is enough room for the text) it defaults to size 12. I'm needing this to default to size 10, and still be able to scale if too much text is entered, but I can't find any options for this. I essentially lose my ability to set the default text by setting it to 'Auto' yet it's still going to size 12 by default - how can I change this setting to size 10?
I've tried searching various forums for this answer but can never find exactly what I'm after - Any help will be appreciated.
    Joel

    Thanks for the response George.
If that's the case, would I be able to write an 'on mouse down' java script as a work around, or will these font sizes be dealt with the same. As in, if I change font size with a script to 10, will this effectively remove my 'auto' text size that allows scaling?

  • [AA7+] [Windows] Set default text size for "auto" setting...

    Good morning:
I was wondering if it is possible to set the default font size or specify a maximum font size
for the auto setting of the font size on a text field when using the auto setting?
Currently, if the font size is set to "auto" it defaults to 12 pt. text if multiline is checked on the Options tab.
If multiline is not checked on the Options tab, the font size will adjust to the height of the box.
I would like to have the multiline checked, specify "auto" for the font size, but have the auto font size be no larger than 8 pts.
It can go smaller than 8 pts. if there is too much text in the field, but should not be larger than 8 pts. because the other form fields are in 8 pt.
If someone has any suggestions on how to achieve this, I would be most appreciative.
    Thanks!
    Theresa

    Thanks Jongware!
I'm aware of the many different forums and I thought I was posting it in the Acrobat Scripting forum.
That'll teach me to look where I post. I guess I'm the one that needs the glasses.
    Take care!

  • Can I change the default text sizes in the Character Menu?

At my last job I used a program called Creator to create the projects for which I now use InDesign.  In Creator there was a section in the Preferences that allowed you to specify what font sizes were in the drop down menu, but I don't see such a setting in InDesign.  Its not a huge deal, but its nice to have, say 20pt in your drop down menu as a type size if you use that particular size a lot, as opposed to typing it in every time.  Does anyone know if there is a way to do this?  Thanks!!

Thanks Bob, I didn't think of that, I suppose that would work.  Basically I would just like to have more text sizes to choose from in the drop down menu, I guess its more an issue of laziness on my part than anything else.  I could make a character style for it, but then I'd probably have 10 different character styles just to change the size of my text when it would be less hassle just to type in the size I need.  I was just looking for a quick fix default option that I was used to having at my old job.

  • Different Text Size for different mobile devices and Tabbed View Application

    Hi,
I am developing an sample mobile application to target all mobile devices (IPhone/IPad/IPod and Android).
I am facing an Issue that i am using default text size for the TextInput, TextArea and label but text size look so small for some devices, i discuss this with some(unkown) person(he is an IPhone developer).
He told me that in Iphone development for different devices they use different text size.
So how would I do the same at our Flex Mobile application ?
Please provide me help regarding this
There is one more problem in the application. I have tabbed view application, and i assign the firstview of the tab after 10 or more seconds of interval so that data will load in the application properly.
But issue is that my first tab is not show anything at first go. When we switch the tab then it loads the screen and application work fine.
Please provide me any help so that i can see the first Tab Screen.
    Thanks

Hi there. For your font issue you need to set up a variable call it var fontSize or something. Then have an if statement that reads something like if (stage.stageWidth <= 320) fontSize=8 else if (stage.stageWidth > 320 || stage.stageWidth <= 640) fontSize = 12.
Then instead of giving your font a size give it the size of fontSize variable and it will check for stage width or whatever you base it on and apply that size to your text field.
I had done this for an app I did for Kellogg Garden Products but if you notice when you go from portrait to landscape mode the font size increases using this technique.

  • I have a new high res 27 in monitor, how do i get text size bigger

I have a new mini and a new top of the line 27 in monitor  from dell.  with the display port cable i can get the highest resolution which would be great except that much of the text is too small.  of course in word or in a browser you can change the display size for the main text, but not in the menu's, in Finder, in outline mode etc.  How can i make the basic default text size big enough for my old eyes to read?

Many screen elements are fixed at "pixels", not "inches".  Hi-res means you can fit more of them into the screen instead of making them bigger.
You can adjust the resolution to be lower than "max" to make the dock/icons/windowtext bigger.
Another issue is the distance of your (and my ) "old eyes" from the screen.  27 in screens place pixels sometimes further apart than on 22 in screens, so images can look fuzzy unless you move the display 12 more inches away from you.

  • IPhone photo default size / dimension is too big - Fix?

    iPhone space is expensive
When we take a photo with the iPhone (3g and 4s-at least), it's approx 2MB (for a jpg)!
We can have more room in iPhone storage for more music, photos, etc...
My Windows-7 detects the phone and Windows-Explorer auto-opens; therefore, I can drill down into phone/files - only to the photos and simply drag-um-over. They're all huge!
Printing a 2MB pic is big enough to cover a whole bed-room wall.
We should be able to set this to: 1 MB, 512K, 256K
    - or set defualt photo dimensions
New cameras are the same (even if JPG is selected)
With some cameras, users can set a default picture-size / or rather dimensions re: 4x4, 3x5 (or 10x8, 12x12, 12x14) and the like...
This results in tiny file size.
    Note:
JPG is a deviation from MPG
MPG came first as MPEG (audio + video)
Motion Picture Experts Group (MPEG) developed so a surgeon in New York, can assist (video-conference) w/a operation in Los Angeles

So... is there a question in there at all? Fail to find a ??? in the multicolored text....
And if a piddly 5MP 4S is giving you hiccups, wait till you run across an 8MP i5!

  • Default page size settings in TEXT FILES SAVED FROM MAIL

I regularly save emails as rtf files (either with or without attachments) and sometimes return to print them with TextEdit.
I'm in Ireland, where our standard paper size is as most European countries, i.e. A4.
My 'Default Paper Size in Page Setup' is set in the Print & Fax pane in *System Preferences* as A4.
If I select 'Page Setup...' in Mail to print direct from the Application, it defaults as you'd expect to A4.
If I make a fresh text file with TextEdit, it also defaults to A4.
But if I 'Save As...' from Mail and then open the resulting file in TextEdit (or Word, for example) I find it has been saved with a US Letter Page Setup. Can I change this setting? If so, where?

I think I see where the confusion is.
I'm not talking about file attachments (the 'Save Attachments...' function in the File menu). What I'm talking about is the saving of the email as an rtf file (the 'Save As...' function). When you select 'Save As...' there's a further pull-down menu for format that allows you to save it as one of 3 options: Rich Text Format, Plain Text OR Raw Message Source. I want to save it as Rich Text which preserves fonts, bold type etc.
Mail clearly can create such files (I have several GB of saved emails that says so!) - what I want to figure out is if there's a way to control the way it sets the page size in those files as it does so.

  • Default font size for Text screen in customer document

We use the text function to enter additional customer data for customer invoice correspondence. The data is pasted from a Word document onto an existing invoice document using menu Extras - Texts - select Correspondence then paste.
Once pasted the tab funstion is used to line up the data.
The default font within the 'Text' screen is different from the default font used in the correspondence. This causes a misalighnment of the text when printing the invoice.
How do I change the default font size in the 'Text' screen. This is probably more of a techie than functional uestion. The SAP screen is SAPLSTXX (via either FB03 or FBl5N)

  • Is there a default for text size

Text size varies between 12pt and about 8pt - there does not seem tro be any logic that determines which. Size can be adjusted using CTL/+/- but you don't want to do this on every other page.

Actually, text on the page is sized by the person who makes the page. generally, web designers do pick something between 8pt and 12pt, but they can pick really any size they want. If you want to change to the default size that the page was designed in, it's CTRL and 0 (Zero, not the letter 'o', this font is bad at sowing the difference).
CTRL+/- is something that browsers have added to help people read text if the size the designer picked is difficult for them to read.

  • Change text size in iphone - phone favorites

Is there any way to increase the text size in phone favorites?  I know how to use the Accessabitity setting to increase the text size in Contacts, Mail, Messages, etc...
It's just that I keep hitting a favorite adjacent to the one I am intending to choose.
Or, is there a way to add a blank in between each favorite so that a false selection is not made?
    Thanks for any advice.

    Dixie,
I did use Large Text to improve the contacts readability, but it has no effect in Phone-Favorites.  And this is strange, as the Favorites list is propigated from the Contacts data.
