IPhone 5s doesn't often connect to 3G/4G
Hi,
I have an iPhone 5s but it rarely connects to the o2 network (3G/4G etc). Wi-fi connection is fine, and I CAN connect to the network at times but I almost always need to switch flight mode on and off for the phone to even try. It also seems to forget to keep trying to stay connected after a while, which is really inconvenient.
The flight mode trick is a good workaround but gets pretty frustration paying £50 a month but not really being able to use data very often or easily. The Genius Bar people did the usual and said I should update, back up, factory reset etc (all of which I'd already done). Didn't help at all.
Any ideas?!

Appreciate you trying to help, but your answer wasn't helpful and it sounds like you didn't really read my question.
I CAN get network signal, but left to its own devices, my phone doesn't pick it up. I always have to 'jump start' the connection by switching flight mode on then off. It's NOT a network issue but a problem with the phone itself - I can stand perfectly still, have no signal at all, the. Do the flight mode trick and instantly i get 3G/4G.

I've done everything possible with the phone and my router at home (though, as you can tell from reading what i've done, anything related to my router at home is moot because th eissue persists anywhere i go...) all i can think is that it's a OS issue some how. I may try to wipe and install an older OS or jail break it to see what happens.
My bets are on what people have said to me though in passing: this is Apple's way of making people want to move onto the iPhive (name trademarked by me!) due to frustrations with their iPhour or iPhthree (that doesn't work so well does it...). -
OOkay so yesterday my phone kept stuffing up and blacking out so I had to keep rebooting it
i think it did this about 5 times, the first time it did it and I turned it back on
eeverything was fine , but then my wifi button went blue and even in settings the option to turn it on isn't availableTry doing this:
Settings -> General -> Reset -> Reset Network Connections
Phone will reboot, you will have to enter your WiFi Passwords again - BUT should resolve the problem. -
My iPhone 3gs is not working properly and hasn't been since about September of last year. When switched on (Quite often it won't even turn on) it says 'Update Completed' as though it has just been updated. On the next screen it says to 'Connect to iTunes'. It doesn't, however, connect to iTunes and just resets itself over and over until power is gone. Occasionally after switching on and off a few times it functions normally for a few hours and some times even a couple of days but eventually always turns itself off and goes back to the 'Update Completed' screen. Does anyone know what might be causing this and/or a way of fixing it?

My iphone 4 doesn´t connect through Wi-Fi, Apple replaced my phone for a new one, but the new one has the same problem. I have an ipod third generation and it doesn´t have this problem. Having compared both working at the same time, the iphone alsways lags behind or doesn´t even connect to the internet via Wi-Fi. Does any one know what to do?? Thanks
Have you ever checked to see if there is an update for your router? If yes, then power off router. Then on iPhone go into settings and do a reset network settings. Power router back on, and try connecting phone to router.

facetime says connecting after you answer the call but doesn't actually connect and both iphone 5s were quick reset-ted and facetime was turnt on and off, any reasons like why or how and how to fix this concerning issue

I have installed the new iOS 5 on my Iphone 3GS and my bluetooth connection for my Philips bluetooth headset doesn't work anymore. Does anybody have a solution?
I have checked the headset on another Iphone with iOS 4 and it works well.

IPhone 4 wont turn on connected to computer, my home button doesn't work. what do i do?:/

i left it charging over night to hope it would turn on in the morning but still hasn't worked... i plugged it into the computer and its been connected for about 10 minutes and still wont turn on. my home button is broken so i cant do the sleep/wake and home button reset.

Not being able to use your device can certainly be frustrating. After reviewing your post, I have located an article that can help with your iPhone. It contains a number of troubleshooting steps and helpful advice for the issue you are experiencing:
iOS: Not responding or does not turn on - Apple Support
Your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch may occasionally stop responding to buttons, switches, or touchscreen input and may exhibit one or more of these symptoms:
Does not return to the Home screen after you press the Home button
Does not wake from sleep after you press the Sleep/Wake button
Does not turn on (or power on) when you press any button
Does not start up past Apple logo
Appears frozen or unresponsive
Is unable to "Slide to Unlock" or "Slide to Power Off"
To troubleshoot these symptoms:
If a single application is not responding or stops responding when it opens, you can force it to close.
If the device is unresponsive or if certain controls aren't working as expected, restart your device.
If the device remains unresponsive or does not turn on (or power on), reset your device.
If there is no video or if the screen remains black, verify that the device has enough charge to turn on:
If you are using an iPad, ensure that it's connected to the USB Power Adapter supplied with the device.
Let it charge for at least twenty minutes, then see if it starts normally.
If there is no image on the screen, press the Sleep/Wake button to attempt to wake the device.
If the screen displays a red battery icon, continue charging the device until the battery is fully charged. Learn more about charging iPhone and iPod touch, or iPad.
If the above steps do not resolve the issue, or the if the screen remains black or shows a persistent Apple logo, try restoring with iTunes:

I'm very disappointed with Apple products! I was 15 days without my Iphone 5, because it stopped working and the had to be replaced by authorized apple. Then i bought an iphone 5s in two days it stopped working. Doesn't read the sim card. I call to Apple suport and discovery that the model A1533 is not warranted in Brazil and need to be replaced, because there is a hardware problem. In a moment i don't have anyone Phone. Why Apple does not send other equipment equal to authorized to exchange my Iphone, because in Brasil doesn't have the same model? I liked a lot this Apple phone, but i can't use, i have one brand new, but doen'st work. I don't have anybody in USA to exchange in one Apple store. Please help me!

EUREKA, I found the solution to my problem in a Discussion initiated by gingertodd on July 27, 2011 entitled "Safari in Lion hijacked by malware." The solution was provided by Badunit who recommended force quitting Safari and then reopening it while holding down the Shift key. It worked instantly, and I subsequently was able to open Safari normally by just clicking on its icon in the Dock. THANK YOU BADUNIT!

3g doesn't work if the iphone asks for wi-fi connections
If I try to connect to internet and the Iphone asks if I want connect to wi-fi and I don't want, the 3g doesn't work. Only after turn the iphone off/on the 3g works again.
I didn't use the term Reboot since there is no such thing term wise.
It is power off and on, then there is a Reset which is a system restart without powering the iPhone off and then a complete Restore.
Basically a Reset accomplishes powering an iPhone off and on so not much point in doing so first. -

You need to disconnect and remove that other WIFI network from your system. If it still won't work after that, try a reboot of the system before doing anything else. Make sure you clear the checkbox about restarting all programs automatically after restart.

We use one windows machine and two mbp's (post 2012) at home. We have a modem *** router from a non apple vendor that airport utility finds and connects with absolute ease. But doesn't stay connected. The signal drops often, what can I do?
No, not all network clients -- only the two mac portables and they run together very rarely. The windows machine is hardwired to the modem router combo, and that's always sailing smooth. The mbp that is most used is perhaps 20 feet max from the router - and in another room. But it also happens when I take in into the same room as the router. On occassion, I have noticed while using network diagnostics, that one digit in the IP number sometimes appears to go awry. I then try to set up manually - and it works for a bit but is hugely erratic.
I rigged a hand me down airport express and set up a separate network for the two macs and it ran beautifully for some weeks, but that little piece is now dead and none of the retailers in my suburb seem to have one in stock. I don't want to be forced to buy an airport extreme and here in India, there's no trustworthy online ordering option.
The man from the ISP's been here several times and I don;t think it is a modem/dsl issue because the smartphone connects and the macbook drops when both are the same distance from the router? I am truly foxed and intensely irritated! :-(
