  • Error with Console Keyboard

Has anyone ever received the error 'Error with Console Keyboard' when installing Solaris 8?
Before Solaris prompts me to select my language I get the
error 'Error with Console Keyboard'. When Solaris prompts me for the
language I cannot select it since my keyboard no longer seems to be
    working.
I have no problems with my keyboard before this step.
Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated.

Exactly!I have the same problem when I try to install Solaris 8 on Dell CPi laptop. who else can help us? please!

  • "Error with console keyboard" in Solaris 8

    Hello,
At the very beginning of Solaris8 boot I get
    "Error with console keyboard"
and later OS does not react to keyboard. This non-USB keyboard.
This keyboard does work ok in PROM monitor on same
computer and this keyboard works ok with other sun box.
So this keyboard is physically OK.
    When I do 'kbd -t', I get:
    ioctl(kbd type): Invalid argument
What's wrong ? Can I configure the keyboard driver manually ?

  • Mac Mini HD errors with bluetooth keyboard

I have a Mac Mini with bluetooth keyboard.  I cannot boot to OSX Recovery (command R).  Yet I need Disk Utility to repair HD errors.

I found this link searching Apple Mac Mini Support: Apple Wireless Keyboards: Using startup keys.  Tried this and it worked on the second try.  Worked using Restart in the middle of the startup chime sound, not Shutdown.

  • Error with backlit keyboard

    Hi guys.
I recently have some problems with my Macbook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2012)
The keyboard light is turned off and I can't adjust the light brightness of this because F5 & F6 doesn't work.
I go to System Preferences> Keyboard and I can't find any option about illuminated keyboard, just disappeared of my mac.
I recently installed Lab Trick to see if I can manually use the light settings on the keyboard, but it shows me the following error "Your Macintosh does not seem to have any available backlit keyboard."
I tried resetting SMC, PRAM. But the problem continues.
I haven't opened the mac yet.
There will be some sensor cable disconnected?
Will be necessary to carry warranty?

    Hi,
I have the same Macbook Pro as you, and here is a picture of my Keyboard settings.
I don't know why the bottom part of yours is blank. Maybe you can try this. Check the box for Use all F1, F2, etc. and then use the fn key on your keyboard together with F6 to see if it will bring up the brightness.
Has your System Prefs Keyboard settings always been like this?

  • Kernel errors with Logitech keyboard

    Hello,
I have a core2duo iMac running 10.5 like a breeze. I have one problem though: my console log prints 4 lines of errors for each key i press. As you can understand, this is filling up the logs quite a bit. For every key i press, i get this:
    5/21/08 7:39:03 PM kernel final dcConfig = 0
    5/21/08 7:39:03 PM kernel returning 0
    5/21/08 7:39:04 PM kernel final dcConfig = 0
    5/21/08 7:39:04 PM kernel returning 0
This site and Google both dont give me any result, there isn't even a mention of something called dcConfig associated with OSX. I'm open to any suggestion at this point: maybe some keylogger running and being broken? Several scanning apps couldn't find anything, but I cant be sure my system is 'clean'.
The keyboard is a simple Logitech UltraX USB keyboard connected through a cheap noname usb hub. Bypassing the hub, the problem remains, so that isn't the problem.
    Anyone have a clue?

The easy answer is that you probably don't have the proper drivers for your keyboard installed. The problem is that Logitech seems to have left Mac's out of their driver list for that model.
Logitech has many mice and other products that do not work well with Mac's. The more complicated or custom the device, the less of a chance for satisfaction.
Connect an Apple or a generic keyboard to your mac and see if the problem continues after a restarting with the Ultra keyboard disconnected. If the problem goes away then you'll probably have to work with Logitech for support.
The good news is that due to recent popularity changes, more software and hardware companies are taking a new look at their Mac product lines

  • ITunes - iPhone Sync Error with Mail Accounts

Whenever I sync my iPhone with iTunes I get the error message, "iTunes could not sync mail accounts to the iPhone 'Henry's iPhone" because an error occurred remapping record identifiers./Try syncing your iPhone again. If the problem persists, replace the mail accounts on the iPhone from the info tab in the iPhone preferences."
If I uncheck the mail accounts sync option in the info tab, the problem goes away, but returns when I recheck the option.
What does this error message mean? More to the point, how, precisely do I remedy the situation?

Easiest to just leave mail account syncing off. FYI, that setting does not sync emails, it only syncs the account settings. If email is working on your phone, there's no need to sync the settings.

  • Thai keyboard for iPhone 3G?

Any idea when Apple will include a Thai keyboard for the iPhone? Is there any other way to get one on the phone in case I don't want to wait around for apple to do it?

    Hi All:
I'm happy to report significant progress toward solving this thread. After a 10-day or so hiatus in my usual web search for a 3g keyboard, I took a shot last night. And guess what I found? A lot!
Since November 13th, our friends in the Land of Smiles have been prepping diligently for True Move's iPhone release. To the point of the thread, Quik Dict (Thai Edition) is now available in the App Store for $4.99, and it includes a Thai keyboard. See http://www.mobclix.com/appstore/app/299442281 for info.
My wife and I tested it, and the keyboard appears to be fully functional within the Quick Dict app itself (as advertised). Advanced dictionary; not graduate academic level, but as good as the best pocket dictionaries available. The keyboard is not usable outside the app (as advertised).
Based on a conversation I had a few weeks ago with developer rustybrick.com, who issued a Hebrew keyboard app, it appears to me that Quik Dict has done all the heavy lifting. rustybrick.com told me that the Thai keyboard is "much more complex" than Hebrew, so they weren't interested in taking on the development. Appears to me all that Quik Dict has to do is decouple the keyboard and issue as a stand-alone app; and, I imagine there is code to add to make the keyboard accessible to other Apple and 3rd-party apps. My day job is not as a programmer, but I figure that since rustybrick.com did it in Hebrew, for Quik Dict to complete a stand-alone version would be a snap.
More fun and showing that True Move is committed to iPhone release: Go to the App store on the iPhone, and search "Thai" You will find that True Move has issued six free apps for Thai users, all obviously targeted toward providing support of their upcoming iPhone release. As well as giving their customers new ways to spend money with downloads (trust me, Apple could learn a few tricks from Thai service providers about after-market marketing). All Thai-phobes reading this will just love these apps - Thai music hit previews for free!
In a prior post, my crystal ball said we'd see the Thai keyboard in next one or two firmware updates; v2.2 has now passed without it. My refined prediction is that we'll see the keyboard within the next four-to-eight weeks from a third-party developer, which will be duplicated by Apple in a future firmware update.
If we already had cut-and-paste, then a (Rube Goldberg) solution to this thread would be to write in Thai with Quik Dict keyboard and paste to email. Therefore I conclude, it is 80% Apple's fault that we cannot resolve this thread as "solved" (I'm giving them 20% partial credit for posting the App). Are you listening, Cupertino?

  • Can't iPhone have Thai keyboard the same way as the PC keyboard?

I been using iPhone since 3GS, 4, and now 4S.
I been using WhatsApp communicating with my friend and family a lot.
Since I'm from Thailand, I use Thai keyboard in WhatsApp most of the time.
iPhone Thai keyboard is very difficult to type.
Can't iPhone have Thai keyboard the same way as the PC keyboard?
iPad already has it.  Why can't iPhone has it?
Many Thai people feel the same way as I am.
Many iPhone user in Thailand jailbreak their iPhone because they want the keyboard the same way as PC keyboard.
All iPhone user must use the keyboard everyday to communicate.
Imangine that Thai people have to use the keyboard everyday and having a hard time using it.
Please consider giving Thai people the keyboard that we can use with ease.

To turn on Thai keyboardin your iPhone with iOS4.0.2++, follow the steps below.
    1. Go to settings
    2. Select General
    3. Select Keyboard
    4. Select International Keyboards
    5. Select Add Keyboard...
    6. Search for Thai
This should add Thai keyboard to your iPhone.
In order to use Thai keyboard during text SMS/MMS,
Tap and hold on the lower left where there is a "Globe" like icon. You should see a small window with a selection of keyboards available. Without letting go, run you finger (still holding to the globe like icon) to Thai and you should be able to start typing in Thai.

  • I am trying to download my photos from my iphone to my mac-iphoto. It keeps trying but about halfway through it says there is an error with a photo therefore it wont download any of my pictures or videos.  It wont tell me which picture is the issue.

I took a lot of pictures and video on my recent trip to Ireland.  Now I am trying to download the photos and videos from my iphone to my mac - iphoto.  I have tried 3 times and each time (at a different point) I get a message telling me that there was an error with one of my photos and it wont load the pictures.  Help!!

Try using Image Capture to download to a folder on the Desktop.  If there's a damaged file on the iPhone that's preventing the download you can isolate it with Image Capture and then delete it from the iPhone.

  • My iTunes Store on IPhone comes up with an error ([newNullResponse]). It is just on the music tab, tv shows and movies tab works fine. I have tried restarting phone, closing app, turning my account off and on. What is the problem I need help?!!!!

My iTunes Store on iPhone comes up with an error [newNullResponse] always when I click the music tab. The movies and tv shows tab works fine. I have tried everything from restarting my phone to turning my account off and on.

Try a different cable and a different charger. If neither fixes it you probably need a new battery. Apple will replace it for $80 in the US; I don't know what the charge is in other locations.

  • Mapping problem with Wireless Keyboard and Japanese iPhone

    Hi everyone:
This seems to be a slightly obscure question -- at least, I can't find a ready answer for it with the search terms I've tried, possibly because most people don't use this particular accessory with the iPhone.
I have an iPhone 4 that I bought from and use on Softbank, the carrier in Japan, where I live.  While visiting the United States recently, I bought an Apple Wireless Keyboard from an Apple retailer.   I wanted to carry it with me for use with my iPhone, so I would reliably have a convenient way to access the Internet without being confined to the touchscreen keyboard.  (I live in a rural area where WiFi spots are uncommon, but my iPhone's access to Softbank's data network is fairly good and consistent.)
However, to my frustration, I can't use the keyboard due to a mapping problem.  The Bluetooth connection is fine -- the iPhone can discover the keyboard.  However, the mapping is off: typing "Q" gets me "A," typing "Z" gets me "W", numbers and punctuation are off, etc.  The key point: This is NOT a problem with the International Keyboard settings (under the Settings -> General -> Keyboard -> International Keyboards menu).  I have the Keyboard setting set to QWERTY, which is the layout of the Apple keyboard; I have tried all the other possibilities, just in case.  None of them work.  Setting the Keyboard setting to QWERTY does not make the external QWERTY keyboard map correctly.
The rather ironic addendum is this: While on a recent trip to Tokyo, I visited the Apple store in Shibuya and, after concluding the main business of my visit (discussing my MacBook's battery problems with an English-speaking staffer), I took out my iPhone and keyboard and asked him about my mapping problem.  He started with the Keyboard menu, tried the same things I had tried, realized they weren't working, and puzzled over the problem for a while.  Then he did this: He hit a key combination (I believe) that brought up a menu on the iPhone's screen.  "Ah, there's your problem," he said, and selected a new setting.  The problem was instantly fixed.
To my chagrin, however, I neglected to write down what "Ken" had done to fix the problem.  Argh... I was looking at the iPhone upside-down; I'd already taken up more than half an hour; people were waiting, and I guess, being used to living in the countryside now, that I'm not used to Shibuya crowds any more.  Anyway, I didn't take careful notes or ask him to walk me through it, and now I cannot recall or repeat what he did.  And I still can't use my keyboard!
Any ideas or advice, anyone?  How did "Ken" fix my problem, and how can I repeat it?  Much, much appreciated, in advance.

THAT'S IT.  Sir, you have solved my problem.  Thank you!!
And I feel a little silly; this will doubtless seem to an expert as if it should have been obvious all along.  But isn't that always the way in hindsight?
Here's what happened: The key combination I was trying to remember was "Apple/command + space on the hardware keyboard," as you just said above.  The "menu" it brings up is, apparently, a list of keyboards.  I take it that this list is the same as the list of the "virtual" keyboards on the iPhone?  I have never had more than one external keyboard -- the Apple Wireless -- but I do have several keyboards active virtually, as the iPhone in Japan seems to come with both the "Nihongo Ten-key" and the "Nihongo Romaji" keyboards active, and I added several other languages as well.
When I hit "Apple/command + space," this list comes up on the iPhone's touchscreen.  Highlighted and checked at the top is "English," just as if it had been selected all along.  But nonetheless, when I first turn on and pair my keyboard with the iPhone, I need to perform this key-combination action, as if to "reselect" English, and then the keyboard promptly starts working properly as QWERTY.  I can only assume that one of the others had been default-selected before -- presumably one of the Nihongo ones? -- and that this was causing the interference.
Thank you again!  You have made me and my wireless keyboard very happy.

  • Error with iPhone app download, now can't find or open app

I recently tried to download an app on my iPhone 4S.  There was an error with my phone mid-download.  After a restart, the app is nowhere to be found on my phone, but I cannot re-download the app, as the app store thinks it is already on my phone.  When I go to the store to re-download, the "Open" button is present (instead of the "Download" button), but when clicked, nothing happens.  Syncing iPhone to a computer with iTunes also does not solve the problem, as the app doesn't appear in iTunes either.
I've tried restarting, hard resets, etc. to no avail.  Suggestions?

When you launch iPhoto with the option key depressed you'll get this window:
All libraries on your hard drive (and on external drives) will be listed and the currently used library will be listed as (default).
