IPhone 5s has consistent glitches, crashing, blue screen of death, etc.

I have an iPhone 5s running iOS 7.1.1 and I have had the following problems:
Weird glitches where parts of the display will disappear, become distorted, or be replaced with other parts of the display.
Whenever the above happens, my phone will also freeze and become unresponsive
This is also usually accompanied by the "blue screen of death".
It will then proceed to restart
If anyone can help me, it would be greatly appreciated.
(also I restored my iPhone, but the problems persist)

The Basic Troubleshooting Steps are:
Restart... Reset... Restore from Backup...  Restore as New...
Restart / Reset  >  http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
Backing up, Updating and Restoring >  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414
If you try all these Steps and you still have issues... Then a Visit to an Apple Store or AASP (Authorized Apple Service Provider) is the Next Step... Be sure to make an appointment first...

  • Windows 7 Crashes (Blue Screen Of Death) As Soon As My iPhone4 Connects

Ok, so I have Windows 7 with the latest version of iTunes and the latest software version for my iPhone4, everything was working fine until just the other day, whenever I plug my iPhone into my computer, as soon as it makes that little noise when it connects, I get a blue screen of death.
    That's about all I know...

I updated Windows drivers (it said I had three updates to download) but still no luck.

  • Iphone won't turn on After blue screen of death, even after press sleep and home buttons simultaneously.

I was watching YouTube on my iPhone 5 and all the sudden the screen turned blue and phone stop responding to any buttons. I some how pressed the volume buttons and power button and the phone went off but since then it can't turn back on. I tried to press the power and home button simultaneously but still nothing. After that I removed the case from my phone and noticed there was moisture on the back of the phone, I didn't drop the phone in water. Any suggestion how to turn on this piece of crap. Thanks!

hopefully they'll have your iphone in stock!!! if they do, they should just replace the phone.

  • My Computer crashes (blue screen of death) each time I open adobe acrobat 9 pro

I sent the dump file to my IT person and below is response:
Both of your crash dump listings list the fault of your crashes as FNPLicensingService.exe  This is normally installed as part of an Adobe product (Reader,Photoshop, etc.) but it could also be part of someone else's product. (The code is actually written by FLEXnet Publisher and sold to other companies). Have you installed any new Adobe products?
If XP machine try START->RUN then SERVICES.MSC and enter. If Win7 do START then SERVICES.MSC and it should find it and click it to run it. When the Services windows open look down the list and see if its listed, if so then see if it is running. If its running it should have a highlight to stop it, stop it and see (1) what program quits running and (2) see if it starts automatically again (check it every so often through services.msc).
Should be something installed recently installed it or is conflicting with it
I have uninstalled all programs from the past month.  I tried to uninstall acrobat 9 and the computer crashed each time.  Any Ideas?

Let me known if, deleting photos from the iPhone camera, the problem disappears. I have this behaviour and I suspect it is a Iphone serious bug...

  • System crash (blue screen) during CD burn

    Hello All,
I need your advise due to serious problem with my PC. Per technical specification located in the following site CPU support: the motherboard supports 133/266 MHz FSB and Ratio 12.5.
Unfortunately, I found out that my recently purchased computer doesn’t work at such frequency(FSB=133, Ratio = 12.5), namely, all operation related to the DVD-ROM (Pioneer DVD-120) or Samsung CD-R/RW eventually caused system crash. I tryed to reinstall the OS, however it has not solved the problem. Only frequency decreasing allows to avoid the crash(blue screen of death). The proper volatages and temperature value are as follows: Vcore = 1.74V. PS_3v = 3.25V, PS_5v = 4.95V, PS_12v = 12.24V,  Tcpu = 48C, Tsys = 33C.
    Please advise,
    Thanks, Raz Noam
    Here is my configuration:
    Athlon XP 2000+
    KT4V MS6712 motherboard
    256 Mb  DDR 333 Smasung
40 Gb IDE master on IDE1
60 Gb IDE slave on IDE1
    Samsung SW 248F master
    Pioneer DVD-120 slave
    Windows XP Home Edition

System crash that I have experienced occurs only during CD Burner or DVD activities. It is very random, however I have notice that when I am burning CD (test mode only) the system crash occurs quite often. I attribute it to the fact that this mode is perhaps harder than only play. However, system crash occurs also during play mode. The crash is actualy stop mode with different error core, I mean, stop 0xd1, 0x0A, 24, 77. BTW, I dissabled autoreboot option. So far it was no problem with reboot after crash. So, I suspected some problem with mainboard, however, perhaps, that PSU can impcat as well. Unfortunately, I have no experience with PC hardware, therefore I need your advice based on rich experience. What I dare to assume that the problem rather in hardware than in SW.

  • Blue Screen of Death when Connecting iPhone

I have had no problems for the past two months connecting and syncing iPhone...now, the last few days, whenever I connect the iPhone, the monitor goes to the Blue Screen of Death and I have to reboot. I get the error message driverirql_not_less_orequal...and it also references a little further down the screen mxopswd.sys. Any thoughts?

  • Ipad 2 is getting a blue screen of death

Just a couple of days ago, my Ipad has started getting a blue screen of death. It gets a blue screen, and then shuts itself off. When it restarts, it's unresponsive for about 4-5 minutes before letting me using it again. When it lets me use it again, I have about 10 minutes before it starts all over. I'm hoping this is something that can be fixed whether hardware or software is the problem. I definitely don't want to have to spend $700 for the new iPad as good as it may be. I'm also serving in Manama, Bahrain for the next couple of years, and this island is no where near an Apple store.

I would try to reset the iPad via iTunes, I don't think the problem is software based thou. I once had a mac mini which behaved simularly, the problem disapered when I changed the RAM, this isn't possible on the iPad thou.
In the end, you probably have to do what Johnathan states.
edit: I dont know if it's still this way, but ealier Apple have been giving world wide warrenty on thier mobile devices.

  • Blue screen of death, surprise restarts, and some captured clips distorted, with blocky artifacts!

    Hello,
I've been using my set-up (Premiere Pro 2.0* with Cineform AspectHD) successfully for years, to capture and edit footage. But just recently, my computer has given me the blue screen of death after capturing for about 5-10 minutes or caused my computer to restart in the middle of capturing. I've also noticed that the resulting captured clips are, in some places, distorted and contain blocky artifacts. It isn't a problem with the tape because the footage plays just fine on the camera's preview monitor. I tried re-installing Premiere Pro 2.0 and Cineform AspectHD, but the problem persisted after a successful, but brief capture session (the resulting clips were still distorted and contained blocky artifacts). I have no idea what the problem is! One solution I attempted was to capture on another computer in my house, using the same software. Although I didn't get the blue screen of death or a surprise restart, the captured clips were still distorted and contained blocky artifacts in some spots. Another option I tried, with the second computer, was deselecting the Scene Detect option in the capture dialogue box. As a result, the captured clips are free of distortion and blocky artifacts, but the problem is that the captured clips are too big and very difficult to manage (I shoot a lot because I'm a filmmaker and I'm in the middle of a big project). Why is this happening?!
Any help with this problem would be greatly appreciated!
*I'd use a later version of Premiere, but I spent a lot of money on Cineform AspectHD and the version of Cineform I have only works with Premiere Pro 2.0.

I agree with John T. BSOD's are most often caused hardware issues, such as overheating of a component, or a failing, or undersized PSU.
Also, general system drivers can cause failure. Often, those are outlined (though maybe not in really adequate detail) in the Event Viewer's log. In that article, that John T. linked to, there is another link to "Finding Clues." It goes into more detail on using Event Viewer to explore warning, or error messages. If your testing of your system's components and heat, do not yield a weak link, see that one (no pun intended). It is in Reply # 3.
    Good luck,

  • Iphone 5S crashing after 8.3 update blue screen of death

I have an iPhone 5S which is 90 days out of warranty.  I updated to 8.3 and the first issue I noticed was my music app.  When I play music it doesn't start off from the last song I played - I have to choose my songs again and restart my shuffled playlist.  Last week out of nowhere my phone crashed but it was at 80% battery.  The screen went black, then blue, then tried to reboot.  It "reset" itself within a few hours.  Next day I accessed the App Store and it crashed again.  It has since crashed several more times using Facebook, email, turning it off...very frustrating.  I brought my phone to VZW and they said it was a software issue.  I then went to the Genius Bar and they said without restoring the phone and reinstalling ios, they have no way of knowing if it's software or hardware.  The phone crashed as the tech was looking at my phone so he excused himself, went to the back and came back with a second opinion  "it's definitely a hardware issue and since you are out of warranty, you'll have to buy a new phone for $549".  WHAT?!?  So wait, you JUST told me that you wouldn't know if it was a hardware issue until the phone was restored so how did you magically surmise this?  Then to tell me there is NOTHING that can be done and if I wanted to restore from a backup, I wouldn't be guaranteed that all of my content would be restored to my phone OR there is a possibility my phone would be wiped clean and not restorable at all.  Nice try and scare tactic.  I left Apple with a phone stuck on the blue screen of death.  I went back to VZW and they said its definitely not a hardware issue and even if it were, Apple is the company to seek, not them - they are just my carrier.  I am so fed up with Apple.  Every update and phone I've had with them has had issues.  I don't know why I continue to be their customer.  If anyone can help I'd appreciate it.

Here's what I was actually meant to say,
    Hi
You could try basic trouble shooting, that's what everyone usually suggests first but it that fails to work then it is a hardware issue.
Did it start crashing after you installed or or got rid of an app? Oh and has it happened before on any other IOS?
In my opinion you should email Apple explaining the issue and they might be able to help you or tell you it plain and simple that your phone is broken

  • I have a new iPhone 4 and every time I plug it into my laptop I get the "blue screen of death", it didn't do this the first time because I downloaded all my music from iTunes but ever since it has done this.  Anybody have any insight?

I have an iPhone 4 and downloaded all my iTunes music to it.  Now when I connect it to my laptop I automatically get the "blue screen of death", does anyone have any insight into this problem?

This will happen if you have photos in your camera roll and an out-of-date scanner or webcam driver. See this: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1502

  • Blue Screen Of Death on iPhone plugin: NOT caused by Logitech or HP

    Hi,
Like many posters who have posted throughout 2009, my Windows XP computer crashes consistently every time I plug in my new iPhone. I am currently totally unable to use iTunes to connect to the iPhone.
I have spent more than 8 hours trying ALL the causes listed on Apple's website. It is NOT those. I do not have a Logitech Camera or an HP Scanner or anything else listed there. Below you can see a complete list of what I have and what I have tried.
It is very clear from other posts that Apple's usbaapl.sys driver still has bugs/conflicts that Apple has not yet identified. Let's get to work figuring out what the problem is!
I would appreciate any suggestions or pointers from other members, but please do review the details below before you post.
I am technical and would be happy to provide further info or try suggested registry changes, drivers, etc.
    Details:
Every time I plug in my iPhone 3G, my Windows XP Desktop computer Blue-Screens in the Apple-provided usbaapl.sys driver (which is installed by the iTunes Apple Mobile Device Support installer component) within seconds, whilst Windows Plug and Play is loading the "Apple Mobile Devices" driver. Windows plug-and-play never makes it to the "imaging device" device. It crashes within 0-5 seconds of plugging in the device.
The same iPhone can successfully work with iTunes on my friend's Windows XP system, so the problem is not with my iPhone; it is with the Apple iTunes software.
There is some problem with interaction between iTunes on my Windows XP computer and my iPhone.
I have iTunes 8.2.1.6 with Windows XP sp3.
I have already tried ALL of the suggestions at:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2280
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1502
    In particular
    - I do not have a Logitech camera, either built-in or plug-in.
    - I unplugged AND uninstalled all the drivers for
    - my printer (which is a Canon i560)
    - my scanner (which is Canon CanoScan LIDE 25)
    - my USB hub/card reader (IOGEAR GUH284R)
    - my webcam (Creative Webcam Pro)
    - I actually unplugged ALL USB devices first, including the mouse and the USB hub, rebooted, and it still blue-screens when plugging in the iPhone directly to the computer's USB port.
    - I used to have an HP PrecisionScan Pro, and so I also uninstalled all drivers for all old hardware (not just the HP scanner), and rebooted. Still blue-screens when plugging in the iPhone.
    - I have tried all USB ports of the computer, including directly plugging into them without any USB hub. Still blue-screens.
    - I completely uninstalled iTunes, QuickTime, and Apple Mobile Device Support, rebooted, verified that usbaaap.sys was gone from system32/drivers, then reinstalled iTunes 8.2.1.6 -- still blue-screens
    - When I re-installed iTunes, I had disabled my computer's firewall and anti-virus as an Apple tech had suggested, but this didn't help -- still blue-screens.
    - I also tried the hack, suggested on the internet, of installing Apple Mobile Device Support from iTunes 7.7.1 on top of iTunes/QuickTime version 8.2.1.6. I verified that I was in fact getting a different usbaapl.sys but -- still blue screens.
    - I verified that if I delete the usbaapl.sys driver, plugging in the iPhone does not blue-screen (though of course I cannot use it either). The blue screen of death that appears also contains the word usbaapl.sys. The crash is definitely in that driver. I understand that Apple and Logitech say the "real problem" is in another driver, but as mentioned above, I have eliminated everything on the list in Apple's support suggestion, and I still blue-screen. I even blue-screen with Apple's version 7.7.1 usbaapl.sys driver.
    - I verified that my PC has the latest chipset drivers and USB 2.0 drivers. My PC has a 2.8 GHz P4 processor with an ABIT BD7II-RAID motherboard. It has an Intel 845E chipset with Intel 82801DB (ICH4) I/O USB controller. I have never had any other problems like this with any other USB device on this computer. My problem is unique to iPhone.
    - I saw on the internet that in 2007 there was an iTunes blue-screen crash that resulted if the iPhone had any Photos on it. So I deleted all the photos on my iPhone. Still blue-screens.

    lsemprini wrote:
Yes, as mentioned in the OP, it says usbaapl.sys on the blue screen, and removing the driver avoids the bluescreen (but of course also prevents the iPhone from working with iTunes). Interestingly, when removing the usbaapl.sys driver, the imaging side of the device actually works with my computer (i.e., I can get the Photos stored, which comes via an alternate driver interface). The problem is REALLY isolated just to the Apple iTunes interlink code in usbaapl.sys.
I'd like to emphasize and clarify this point a little more as I think it may be the key symptom for separating my problem (and that of other posters, I'd imagine) from the "standard Logitech conflict" problem:
With the bug I am reporting, I plug in the iPhone, and Windows pops up a plug-and-play bubble for "Apple Mobile Device USB Driver," which is usbaapl.sys (you can verify this with 100% certainty by searching for usbaapl in regedit). The blue screen occurs for me during this phase (sometimes an instant after the bubble pops up)!
If I disable usbaapl.sys by removing the driver, Windows gets past "Apple Mobile Device USB Driver" (happily failing to report any error even though it has not loaded the driver, sigh) and goes on to an "imaging" device (I think it might have said "iPhone camera" or "Imaging Device;" I can check again if it's important), which succeeds to load, and I can access pictures stored on the iPhone using the standard Windows Scanner and Camera Wizard tool, which I think uses the WIA API.
So my bug differs from the "standard Logitech conflict" in that it has NO relation to whether or not I have Photos on the iPhone, and if I disable the buggy usbaapl.sys driver, I AM able to access photos on the PC.
In most of the bug reports I saw for the "standard Logitech conflict" problem, users only experienced crashes when the camera had one or more Photos on it, and it appears (though other bug reports are not clear) that the system crashes just after Windows attempts to load the "imaging" driver for the iPhone. My guess is that those users got through "Apple Mobile Device USB Driver" with no problem and crashed on the "imaging" driver.
Can someone at apple please post an engineering bug on this issue?
That way we can get a list of technical questions from the engineers that need answering so that we can really stomp this bug for good. I can also volunteer to try out debugging versions of the drivers and collect log files, if needed. I am a systems software engr with Windoze experience so I can probably help expedite the debugging process.
I want to get this fixed and I'm sure many posters do also!

  • Blue Screen of Death when calling skype on iphone/...

Every time i call a person on skype on iphone or s6 (i think any smartphone) my computer crashes and causes blue screen of death. i have windows 8.1 running and this also happened on win 8. i have tried uninstalling, clean installing, deleting all old files of skype and then installing but nothing has worked.
on aside, when i get a call from another desktop skype as well, invariably, i cant connect the call at first attempt. clicking on accept does nothing and it will continue rining. even clicking on reject does not work after. the only option is to kill skype from task manager and then restart it. it then works fine for first call i make. it then has similar issue on later calls. not neccessarily the 2nd call. its regular but also random in nature.

Your Realtek camera drivers are crashing.  Make sure you have the latest drivers installed for your video card and camera.  If the problem continues to occur update the camera drivers to the generic Microsoft camera drivers that come with the OS.  Steps on how to update to those drivers are covered in the below graphic:

Create an ISO (Encore) or folder on your hard drive (Encore or Premiere Elements) and then use the FREE http://www.imgburn.com/index.php?act=download to write files or folders or ISO to disc for DVD or BluRay (send the author a PayPal donation if you like his program)
Imgburn will read the ACTUAL disc brand from the disc, which is not always the same as the box label (Memorex is notorious for buying "anything" and putting it inside a Memorex box)
When you write to disc with Imgburn, use the SLOWEST possible speed setting, so your burner has the best chance to create "good, well formed" laser burn holes... since no player is required to read a burned disc, having a "good" one from a high quality blank will help
