IPhone 5s in-call problems
I received my iPhone 5s last week and because I am the mother of an infant (and am clumsy), I thought I would get a very protective case. I bought a Lifeproof case but in calls, it would vibrate on and off the entire time. I thought something was wrong with my phone but upon doing a search, I found out that is a common issue with those cases. So I exchanged it for a Survivor+Catalyst case and in that case, in calls, I kept getting a terrible screeching sound. When I tried searching for issues with that case, I didn't find anything. So I exchanged it for another case - the same kind - and I have the same issue. At the same time, my husband's iPhone 5s experienced no problems whatsoever in his Lifeproof case, and now that he has a Survivor+Catalyst case, he has no problems with it either. Is there something wrong with my phone that is causing these problems? They only happen when in the cases but it seems odd that no rugged case seems to work with my phone. I need a case that is very protective. I am wondering if there is a speaker problem that only becomes apparent when in a case, perhaps particularly in cases that completely cover the entire phone. Please help!
Connect your iPhone to iTunes on your computer and do a Restore to Factory.

IPhone 4 Voice call problem when wifi is active
Not always, but randomly my voice calls (send/receive) establishes properly. However, neither me or the other party can hear anything. The most common times it occurred, is when the wifi is active. Any suggestion anyone please?

I had my iPhone replaced due to the home button malfunction, and after a couple weeks, this started happening. Since I don't have warranty coverage anymore I can't replace it again. Came with iOS 5.0.1. After this started happening quite frequently, I upgraded to 5.1.1. Still same thing. A non-funcitoning home button was better than a non-functioning phone! Feels like I've been cheated !!I think I've pinpointed the problem!
Whenever I use data (EDGE / Wi-Fi), the handset becomes quite heated. If I initiate a voice call at that moment, the dialer starts with the 'speakerphone' icon being pressed.Given that, no party can hear no party.
However, after a minute or two (when not using data) the handset becomes cold again (quite fast) and then if I initiate a call, the 'speakerphone' icon is not being pressed anymore and everything is normal!
Really donno, what is actually creating this strange problem!! Overheating battery? Overheating wi-fi chip? Overheating any other chip? Firmware? or just my luck!!
P.S: To keep the phone operation smooth, I've disabled wifi & cellular data at the moment! And all is running well. So, it must be something with data usage! -
IPhone 4 voice call problems on 3G
I noticed at the weekend that my iPhone 4 was having trouble with voice calls. Incoming calls would sometimes hang up when I answered them, outgoing calls would take a very long time to connect (or freeze), and when I did get through to someone the call quality was extremely low (lots of stuttering and cutting out).
After trying just about everything recommended on various help pages (including reseating the sim card, refreshing the network settings, and restoring the phone), I still could not get it to work properly. I then tried turning off the 3G and, lo and behold, the phone worked absolutely fine! Voice calls were clearer than ever!
I contacted Tesco Mobile hoping they might be able to shed some light. They said there are no faults with the network and have arranged for me to return my phone. That could take up to 10 days though, which I can't really afford.
Does anyone know what the problem is here? Does the fact that it works fine with 3G disabled suggest that it is not a hardware problem?I've been having a very similar issue that just started last night. I keep dropping calls and when I try to call out nothing happens at all. I cannot browse Safari through 3G either. It keeps coming and going. I was able to finally place a call out and then tried making another call later and it wouldn't work again. I tried the restore as well and nothing works!
I do not know if I should contact AT&T or Apple for the issue. I do have the extended warranty that I purchased with the phone but about a week after I got the iPhone 4 I had to have it replaced for issues I am not even sure that they would replace it again. I do not have a home phone I rely solely on my cell so I cannot wait to have it fixed or replaced but I am not going to keep a phone that doesn't work especially after paying so much for it! -

hey my iphone 4 has a problem regarding carrier. Its always showing searching mode and wifi-address N/A and Bluetooth address 00:00:00:00:00 and call function is disable. Please help me. I have tried every thing ..like restore from DFU mode with out sucess.

IPHONE 4S incoming calls go directly to voice mail. This is a brand new replacement phone. Prior phone didn't have this problem
Slide up from the bottom of your display to access the control panel.
Look for the button (should be at the top) that shows a crescent moon.
Tap that button. It should say "Do not Disturb: Off".
Then try it out and let us know if it worked. -

If I understand correctly, the call volume used to be fine but now it's hard to hear the other person.
Here are some steps to try for that.

Increase the volume during the call.
Make sure nothing is blocking the receiver. If you're using a protective case or display film, remove it and try again.
Make sure nothing is plugged into the headphone jack or the dock connector.
Check the receiver opening to see if it is clogged with debris. If necessary, clean it with a clean, small, dry, soft-bristled brush.
Try another location with better signal. If the audio issue happens only when on a call, it could be due to the location.
If the iPhone is paired with a Bluetooth headset or a car kit, try turning off Bluetooth on your device. Learn more about troubleshooting Bluetooth connections.
Restart the iPhone.
Make sure your device is up to date.
If the issue is not resolved, contact Apple Support.

Just spent the morning trying to resolve this problem. If you want good support, Apple support is not the place to go: See the following. My phone is working now, but the support received from Apple was of no help.

support today for Iphone 5c issue (phone would not make outgoing calls,
intermittent and when there was a connection, receiving party could not hear me
unless I was on
speaker. After contacting my service provider, resetting my phone and checking
problems with service, they connected me to Apple support. Apple called me and
gathered my information, cell number I was calling from (not my cell with
problem). We worked through some possible issues and then she said she was
going to call my cell to check connectivity. She proceeds to hang up on the
call we were on and attempts to call my cell. My cell was not working properly,
hence my call was made from a different phone. Support person can not reach me
through my celll ( because it was not working properly) instead of contacting
me back on the number I gave her in case we were disconnected, she leaves a
message for me to call Apple support back to resolve the problem and she was
going to add to the ticket that we were disconnected. Oh and she neglected to
leave me a call back number so that didn't help much. Didn't give me a ticket
number. I use to love apple. I guess you either love them or hate them. I now
hate them and will tell everyone that they have the worst support I have ever
encountered. I have seen many issues with Apple phones whenever someone updates
their IOS as recommended. If you want anything more than sub par support I
would suggest you go anywhere except Apple. Posting on as many social media
sites as I can, since this is the only source I have to complain. Not that
these complaints will be taken seriously. -
Iphone 4s earphone voice problem
i have iphone 4s it has problem with earphone. the earphone voice of of other caller is very less. i can hardly head the other person but the speakers are working perfectly alrights. someone told me that the earphone speakers are burst. but some other people tole me that iphone 4s got a bug and my problem would be solved by updationg software. can anyone tell me the right solution.

Iphone 5c incoming calls on bluetooth car speakers not by default
OK i have a vw jetta 2012, used to have incoming calls answered on bluetooth by default.
Nowdays, since I have iPhone 5c, incoming calls, sound on speakers, but as soon as I answered, sound goes back to phone, then I need to change to vw phone by hand to hear conversation on the car speakers. Well tha's not safe, neither hands free calls, need helpWe had the problem with our new iPhone 5 using i.o.s.6.0.1. So we updated to 6.0.2 and the problem continues. Sure worked great with the iPhone 4s though.
Makes me think we shouldn't have moved to the iPhone 5. -
You seems not to understand what I mean and what I'm having like problem. I still have my payment receipt from October of this year when I bought 9 songs in the iTunes Store from my iPhone 4S. The problem is from all the 9 songs I've paid for, only 7 are still available from this list on my iPhone. There is no possibility to download the other 2 without paying for them. I've spoke to the lady from Mississippi on the phone 2 days ago from about 2 hours calling from Belgium but unfortunately she couldn't help me. It's the 3rd time I complain about this. How many time shall I pay for the same songs?? If you can access my music list and my past receipts payment you will be able to find out what I mean. I went back on iTunes I've found the the songs I already downloaded in October that should be on my playlist but if I click on them it will charge me again 0,99 cents. It's been 3 years I've been using the same apple ID with my iPhones. I just wand to get my songs back without having to pay them twice or 3 times
1. iTunes won't offer cloud downloads for songs that it "thinks" are in your library, even if it "knows" the files are missing. If you've exhaustively searched for the missing files and there is no prospect of repair by restoring to them to their original locations, or connecting to new ones, then delete that tracks that display both the missing exclamation mark and are of media kind Purchased/Protected AAC audio file. Don't hide from iTunes in the cloud when asked, close iTunes, then reopen. You can download from the cloud links or iTunes Store > Quicklinks > Purchased > Music > Not on this computer > All songs > Download all.
2. Why? Not sure, perhaps 3rd party tools or accidental key presses combined with previously hidden warning messages when trying to organize the library. There is a hint that using the feature to downsample media as it is synced to a device may also be involved, though I've not replicated it. Whatever the reason a backup would protect your media.

Iphone 4s bluetooth volume problems through Alpine HU
Having trawled through numerous reports of bluetooth problems with the 4S I have not found one which replicates my issue although I could have missed it.
Essentially I think my query boils down to " Does the 3GS output music, via bluetooth at a higher level than the 4S, assuming both using IOS5.0.1" .Because my new iphone 4S is much much quieter than my old 3gs and I want to establish whether this is a software problem or a faulty unit.
For the last couple of years I have been using a 3GS which paired perfectly with my Alpine CDA-9887/Bt400 stereo in the car, handled calls well and when playing music via the bluetooth input ( which it did exceptionally well) it was at the same sound level as the other inputs for a given vol setting, i.e. I could switch from radio, to disc to bluetooth withouth changing the volume.
Having just changed to an iphone 4S I have found that although the unit pairs ok and seems to handle calls well enough (although rather mushy sounding compared to 3GS) it is very quiet when using the ipod function via bluetooth.
Volume and sound quality are very subjective I realise but to give an indication of the problem, the Alpine head unit has a volume scale from 0-39. On all inputs (except with the 4S) a volume of 5 is fine for spoken voice, 12 good for music on the move 21 is very very loud pushing the cars speakers to the limit. These levels are approx the same when playing music through an iphone 3GS and an ipod touch via bluetooth.
By contrast the iphone 4S is inaudible at vol 5, needs 20 to be listenable to on the move and even at vol 39 sounds thin and about as load as a 3GS at vol18 so ful vol not possible from my iphone 4S
The main problem with this is that if you are listening to music from the iphone 4S then switch to the radio without remembering to drastically reduce volume it is likely to result in damage to the speakers and/or your eardrums. The problem is compounded as I use the TomTom app regularly and this exibits the same problem, the volume needs to be very high for instructions and then if I change input to listen to the news....ouch.
I have tried 2 iphone 3GS's and an ipod touch on this Alpine unit and they all work perfectly, being able to maintain the same output for a given HU vol level as the radio etc. I have tried increasing the bluetooth volume on the 4S handset, have tried clean restore to see if there is some obscure problem with my backup all to no avail.
Has anyone upgraded from a 3GS to a 4S and found the music level in a car via bluetooth much quieter, the same or louder and does this sound like a hardware problem.

My 3 week old Volkswagen Tiguan no longer plays my MUSIC nor my Audible. Its so not ok. This is a breach of contract. I am told by apple you don’t have to update but my carrier said just the opposite our phones will not work without the updates...

hi, i am an iphone4 user from the United Arab Emirates. I got my phone as a gift last September and it was not bundled with any carriers and was a factory unlocked piece. Within one month of usage the home button started misfunctioning. It started registering double clicks as single, triple clicks, etc. (the usual complaint of many countless users of iphone from the time of the release.) I then kind of ignored this problem and continued using the phone.
With this problem still continuing, comes another one.
My friend gave me a call yesterday, and we were talking happily for a minute or so and suddenly without any reason my friend failed to hear me. Five minutes was spent trying to make myself heard to him. I tried and i tried and the only solution i could find was tapping the phone gently,but firmly. Then he was able to hear me but then after sometime it was back to the same problem.
The only solution i found was to tap in th sides.(please note that this is also a common problem with many who have call problems but no voice memo problems.) I tried adding and registering my device to my account but when i try to put in my iphone's serial number,they say that the device number is invalid.
Now i want to get a solution to this, but since this was a gift piece i do not have any invoice of any sort. I even checked itunes.com/support and was happy to find i still have warranty till september.
I am confused as to what to do as I was dissappointed to find even a single apple store in the UAE and do not know what do we get in terms of support. Could someone please help me?that is exactly the problem. I have no idea as in where this phone originates from. It was gifted to my Dad from a personnel who he was supplying for in the company. My dad then gifted it to me on my birthday. I asked my dad about the phone but he also does not know a thing. He also said that the other guy must have taken the invoice with him as he did not give anything to my dad.
I checked it in quite a few places (like SharafDG,eMax,Axiom etc., the local electronics suppliers) to track where this phone was originally purchased from( because these people usually take down the IMEI's of the electronic devices they sell), but they all could not help me.

I've been with Verizon for roughly 13 years now. Through numerous phones, I've always had great service - reliable, good signal, MAYBE 2 dropped calls in all those years. I recently exchanged my old flip phone for an iPhone 5. For the most part, I'm greatly enjoying the phone. Except . . . it's dropping calls like crazy. In fact, a couple of days ago, it dropped 9 times in a single phone conversation (I was ready to just drive to my friend's house rather than continue.) I haven't had any issues with internet, e-mail or anything else, just phone calls. However, considering this is a phone, that's a HUGE issue and extremely frustrating.
When the call drops, I can call the person back right away, but again - frustrating!
Any suggestions (aside from switching back to a more traditional phone? Which I am about ready to do.)I have been having and my wife also. We've had service at our home not the best but never had problems with dropped calls or cutting in and out till maybe 6 months ago. Our son has a iPhone 4S with no problems and our daughter has a droid bionic with no problems. We are getting very frustrated, we have few problems anywhere else but at home. We've even had problems Outside at home keep in mind we have had verizon for years without problems but now we can't continue to pay premium prices for substandard service. As for a verizon network extender I'll try one if it's provided by verizon but I will not buy one, it's not like we just moved to a new house we've lived here for 27 years and our phones worked here for years. Our zip code is 24210. I also work at 24202 and I also experience dropped calls there as never before with verizon. Verizon has problems and either not admitting it or they are blind. Just google verizon iphone 5 dropped calls you'll see Lots of people with similar problems.
