IPhone 5S, iOS 7.0.1 Keyboard Click Sounds

Hey guys,
I am having an issue with the Keyboard Clicking SOunds. It is really hard to pinpoint exactly when or why they stop. I always have my volume turned up. But occasionally, I will be typing and there is just no sound. It is not consistent.
Anyone else epxeriencing this?

Same problem here with an iPhone 4s and iPad 3. I'm not sure if it had already occured on iOS 7.0.0-7.0.3, but it definitely occurs since iOS 7.0.4.
Rebooting the device fixes the problem temporarily, but after a certein amount of time, the system sounds (including the 'click' when applying the smart cover to the iPad) are turned off.

  • Problem with rotation and keyboard click sound

Ok, there's still a problem with the rotation and keyboard click sound and I thought I had the problem fixed.
It's a serious bug when you want the keyboard click sound enbabled without having the rotation locked. I noticed this bug started when I had the previous iosinstalled 7.0.6.
Everytime I wanted to enable the keyboard click sound, I have to always go to settings and have lock rotation checked. And it would stay locked.
If I wanted to rotate my iPad, I have to have mute enabled, but no keyboard click sound.
I know it sounds confusing. I'm already confused... beh.

    I completely forgot about that.
    Thank you!

  • Where is the keyboard click sound located?

    Hi,
I would like to change the sound the Mac plays when using keyboard click sounds. Any idea where the sound file is located? I figure I can just swap in a new one.
    Thanks,
    Allan

Choose Go to Folder from the Finder's Go menu and enter /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/ScreenReader.framework /Versions/A/Resources/Sounds/ as the folder's path after removing all spaces. Once this folder has appeared, play the different sounds and see if any of them is the one you want. If none of them are, repeat the above process with /System/Library/Frameworks/Carbon.framework/Versions/ A/Frameworks/SpeechRecognition.framework/Versions/ A/Resources/SpeechFeedbackWindow.app/Contents/ Resources/ as the path, again removing all spaces.

  • Updated to iOS 6.  Now keyboard clicks are gone and alerts only vibrate.

How to turn keyboard clicks and alert sounds on in iOS6.

    Try redownloading them by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Is the iPod signed nto the account that purchased them?

  • Keyboard clicking sounds or power cord sounds not working.  Mute is off.

All of a sudden, the sounds when using the keyboard and attaching the power cord to charge the battery don't work.  I have checked and my iTunes app has sound and the mute function is off.  I've turned sounds off, powered off, turned sounds back on and powered off.  Can't figure out what happened.

In spite of what you said about sounds not being muted, what you are describing is exactly what happens when SYSTEM sounds are muted. You also do not list which iPad you are using and which iOS you are running. If you have the iPad Air 2, you do not have a side switch so your system sounds will be controlled in the control center,
If you lost sounds for keyboard clicks, games or other apps, email notifications and other notifications, system sounds may have been muted.
System sounds can be muted and controlled two different ways. The screen lock rotation can be controlled in the same manner as well.
Settings>General>Use Side Switch to: Mute System sounds. If this option is selected, the switch on the side of the iPad above the volume rocker will mute system sounds.
If you choose Lock Screen Rotation, then the switch locks the screen. If the screen is locked, you will see a lock icon in the upper right corner next to the battery indicator gauge.
If you have the side switch set to lock screen rotation then the system sound control is in the control center if you are running iOS 7 or iOS 8. Swipe up from the bottom of the screen to get to control center . Tap on the bell icon and system sounds will return.
If you are running iOS 5 or iOS 6, the system sound control is in the task bar at the bottom. Double tap the home button and swipe all the way to the right in the task bar to get to the speaker icon on the left side. Tap on that and the sounds will return.
If you have the side switch set to mute system sounds, then the screen lock can be accessed in the same manner as described above.
This support article from Apple explains how the side switch works.

  • How I can bring back the keyboard clicking sound?

I used to have a clicking sound when I used my keyboard.
The sound went away. How can I get it back?
    Thanks.

Have you looked at it in Settings? Try cycling the selection there.
Do you have any sort of Muting turned on?
If you can't find an easy thing, like the two above, then try a Reset of your iPad.

  • Ipad air 2 keyboard clicking sound disappeared.

So I just bought the Ipad air 2 and today the key clicking sound is gone, I checked sounds and the clicking sound is on. searching on here and someone suggested that the system could be muted, and to go under Setting>General>Use switch to, but there is no such option under general. sound in apps and online are all okay, tried shutting down and rebooting, does not help. Can anyone help?

Pull Control Center up and make sure mute isn't turned on.   The iPad Air 2 doesn't have a side switch so "use side switch to" no longer appears in settings.

  • Low lock and keyboard click sounds.

I guess this is a bug? The lock and click sounds are about four levels below what they should be. When in the Videos app and then exiting the sounds return to their correct level but if I use Siri or after a certain length of time the sounds get lower.
I've tried resetting settings and nothing. I also tried restoring the iPad and that yielded nothing.

That's not really a solution because all other sounds and alerts would be much, much higher.

  • IPhone 5 iOS 7.0.3 Maps: no sound and no 3D

Up until iOS 7.0.3 I've been using Maps just fine to guide me as I drive. There was a nice male voice (British English) that gave me turn by turn instructions and I could glance down at my iPhone for details of the map. Now, no voice and no 3D representation of the map. Its quite useless now as a navigation device as I drive. Some websites say there is a 3D button on the bottom, but that is gone on 7.0.3 (at least on my own,  on my wife's iPhone 5 and on our iPad - all on 7.0.3 now). Is there any way to get back the voice and 3D mapping functions?

After updating my iPhone 5 to 7.0.3 a few weeks ago, this issue has been bugging me. Finally got it syncing on mine after all this time. Simply unchecking the Sync Music and applying and then checking it back on and reapplying did not work.
    What I finally did:
    1) Uncheck all the playlists that are checked AND uncheck the Sync Music and then click Apply.
    2) Then recheck the Sync Music box AND recheck the desired playlists and then click Apply.
(You may have to unplug the sync cable and plug back in before step 2. I had to do it on occasion, but sometimes I didn't and it worked fine.)
The caveat is that apparently you may have to do this everytime you want to add a playlist or song. Also on occasion I found an issue where I click on a song but it would play another one and moving to another song would play the song I wanted to play previously.  I did a reset and it played correctly after that.
It's an inconvenience for now until a certain company fixes the issue. Hope this helps.

  • IOS 8 iPhone 6 Plus Keyboard Click Volume Low

The Keyboard click sounds are too low to be heard when typing into any text entry field.
Volume is up all the way.
This is the only sound effect that is not working, all other sounds work just fine.
Have restarted several times, no change.
Have had the iPhone 6 Plus for about a month and this just started happening a couple of days ago, very annoying.
    Any help greatly appreciated!

Hi Japib thanks for the reply.
I have both volumes all the way up, seems to be an intermittent thing...
Seems the volume for keyboard clicks 'turns off' on its own randomly, very odd, maybe a defective phone?
