IPhone 5S Microphone Problem

Hello Everyone,
Well one, I have a little concern with my iPhone 5S 16gb Black for Sprint. I am noticing that from day 1 people have said that they have trouble hearing me and are experiencing a muffled effect on my voice. I end up having to speak really loud or on speaker phone for them to hear me correctly. I had never experienced this with my iPhone 4S previously.
Second, I have recently taken my iphone to some concerts and recorded video from various distances (way up from the front to very far away) but i noticed my phone records the bass extremely heavy and distorted which makes the video useless where for comparison, my friends iphone 5 records very clear with the highs and mids recognizable and absolutely perfect!
Would apple switch out my iphone if it passes the water and damage test, for a replacement under its first year warranty? I know for a fact it is in perfect condition!

I had the same issue for the last couple weeks. Using the bluetooth connection in my car, my iphone 5s worked fine. Siri worked fine. Only phone calls using the phone up to my face were affected. In fact my voice was even cutting out every other word. I called Sprint and they had me reset my phone with some carrier commands to no avail. I looked at my phone with a magnifling glass and noticed the lightning connector was full of pocket lint. I carefully picked the lint out with a pin (quite a large wad) and now my sound quality is back to normal. I now notice my charger makes a loud snap when I plug in the lightning connector where as before it was hard to push in. See if this is causing your problem.

After updating my iPhone 4 to ios 7 & 7.1, it's microphone doesn't work well. It is ok with Voice Memos or other apps, but during calls, it sometimes stops to work. In some cases you cannot have a call more than a minute or two. Any help?

Iphone 4 Microphone Problem iOS 7.0.3

Since updating to IOS 7.0.3 my mic has stopped working. When I make a call people can't here me unless I'm on speakerphone. Also Voice Memo and Siri don't work either. I have restored the phone to factory settings and that didn't work. Can someone help me to fix this please? Thanks.

Fixed it!! turned out the mic was faulty so I replaced the whole dock connector and its working fine now.

Basic troubleshooting steps clearly outlined in the User Guide are restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as new.
If you've gone through ALL the troubleshooting steps and you're still having the problem, then you most likely have a hardware issue and will need to bring your phone to Apple for evaluation.

I have problems with my iphone 4 microphone. When I make a call no one can hear me on the other end.

two or three things it can be 1.) first are you or have you been having power (top button) button trouble ? Or proximity sensor (or whatever its called the one that turns off the screen when u bring it to your ear when making a call) 2.) Their is a pin hole at top next to earphone jack hole, make sure it is clear. Meaning run a little wire threw it. note : only go in about a 1/16" of an inch. 3.) I think its call an "IC Chip" that has to be reballed or whatever. Well sorry I can not show you exactly where that is cuz I'm a "noob" at this and just trying to help!

Same issue on my wife's iPhone 4S. I suspect it is related to the recent 6.1.2 iOS update (Note: I have a 3S and the update did not cause any issues).
I've tested both bottom and top mics on the 4S using video recorder and both mics work fine. Speakerphone and headset during calls also work fine. The issue is only related to the bottom mic while making calls. I can hear the caller but the caller cannot hear me. If I hold the mic very close to my mouth, the caller can hear a very low level signal.
The problem appears to be software related, not hardware.

My iPhone 6 microphone makes a noise

In certain iOS apps, my iPhone 6 microphone doesn't record any sound. I hear a noise instead. It's like the sound which comes from the speaker while being between two radio stations. This only happens in iMessage and the camera app. The dictaphone, WhatsApp and FaceTime seems to be working fine.
Anyone else has this problem?

I'm experiencing the same issue. It also occurs when my iPhone 6 is on mute.

My iphone 4S has problem in making and receiving the calls. While making the call , call fails and netwrok disappears. Like wise no voice is heard for incoming calls. This happened after return from the overseas travel.

I believe because you migrated from a Nokia to an iPhone you need to register the Bn phone number with your Apple ID so it can be used for iMessage. The Pn number seems to be the only one registered

I'm having a similar problem, but I do have the key and is not working anyway.
My old pc was running on windows 7 and my new one is an apple running on Lion.
My phone is an Iphone IV and I can see all the bookmarks there.
In order to sync, what I did was click on the "I don't have the device with me", I entered the key that was provided and the process finish ok. It says congratulations, etc, etc.
But the bookmarks are not there, I tried merging data and replacing data on this computer options but is the same.
Any suggestions?

IPhone 3G Reception Problems? You're Not Alone

I have the same problem with 3G coverage. I am suppose to be in a strong 3G coverage area at home. I only have 1 bar. Traveling around town (Sacramento area) my 3G coverage changes dramatically. From 1 bar to full bars? Not sure if its working properly or not??? Anyhow, this was posted on Engadget. After they exchanged their iPhone the problem went away? Could it be true? Is it the netork or our iPhones? Lets all hope nothing is wrong with our iPhones!!!!
iPhone 3G Reception Problems? You're Not Alone
One of the more disturbing things coming out of the iPhone 3G launch is reports of suspiciously poor 3G reception and speeds. Specifically, I've seen several people report one bar - specifically, one bar - of 3G reception in areas where other devices report strong reception. (More complaints at Engadget.)
This may be a problem with a batch of iPhones, or with something in AT&T's network, though I've also seen someone reporting the problem on O2 in the UK. The first review iPhone we got had this problem - it would mysteriously drop from four bars of 3G to one for no apparent reason, while our Motorola RAZR2 V9 reported better reception. Then it would shoot back up to four bars for no apparent reason a few minutes later. That unit would also occasionally throw up an "invalid SIM" error, requiring a reboot. That phone also had hideously slow 3G data speeds in the 50 kbps-150 kbps range, so the missing bars weren't just a display issue; there was something wrong with the way the phone was hitting the network.
We exchanged that iPhone for a different unit and no longer had the problem. We took the new iPhone and carried it around comparing it to a Motorola V9, and the two phones connected roughly the same number of calls on the 3G network. The new unit also had much higher data speeds in the same locations - still not great, in the 300-400 kbps range, but at least reflecting 3G.

my white iphone does the same thing. I will drop down to one bar on 3g but full strength when i turn 3g off. Some people have tried to say that it is because 3g had more difficulty going through walls. Mine will not switch between 3g and edge on it's own so i find that when at home i just have to turn off the 3g. I have also heard rumors of a bad batch of iphones. I tried to take it into the store today but they were so busy i just had to make an appointment for thursday, although i was able to replicate the problem in front of the apple geek, which was a little surprising becuase while in line outside the store i had full bars of 3g. It might just be an issue that occurs when indoors? I also have a problem with lag. I'm hoping to get it resolved thurdays, whether they give me a new phone or just tell me to eff off and deal with it. probably the latter.

I would try using another cable you can likely borrow one to test from somebody
if it's the same then likely the connector in your iphone have been damaged

Have you talked to your carrier (or your friend to his)? Could be an issue at their end.

If I attach my iPhone, then it pays them through the iPhone, but still not through the library in iTunes. How can I get the music library on my iPhone to transfer (i.e. restore it) to iTunes? Check the manual for whatever backup program you used, or, if you just copied the files over, copy them that.
