IPhone 5s playing video from iCloud takes up all free storage space and phone to crash

Hello All,
Traded in my 32GB iPhone 5 for a 16GB iPhone 5s today. Using the iPhone's built in "Video" app and streaming videos purchased in iTunes will sometimes cause the phone to freeze and fill of the phone's free space until the indicates free bytes in usage says 0. It seems like it is a software glitch as the phone works perfectly fine everyone else. I'm running iOS 7.0.3. I've also tried restoring the phone, which hasn't help.
Has anyone run into this before or have any suggestions?

I've encountered the same issue tonight. Decided to purchase a movie and NOT download it to the iPhone 5S, but instead play it from the Videos app...which supposedly streams it from iCloud.
Half way through the film, a message informs me that I have low storage space. I check storage - 0kb.
I throw away 1.2GB of old apps and various pics / vids in my camera roll, then finish the movie. Just after watching, another message pops up...that 1.2GB was consumed as I watched the rest of the film.
It's almost as if the film was downloaded to the phone...taking up space (what was the point of "streaming" it from iCloud if it was going to take up such a great amount of space on the phone?) But it wasn't in my videos app as downloaded. I was missing 3 - 3.5 GB of space. There was no way to clear the cache. I tried everything (and I used to work for Apple as a highly competent iOS technical support advisor, so I DO mean everything).
In the end I decided to stop fooling with it and just erase the contents of the phone and restore to a backup.
But this is a SERIOUS bug in this system. I know "streaming movies from icloud" was a new feature with iOS 7...I hope they resolve this. Until then, I'll download movies if I want to watch them.

You need to restore from your backup and not your wife's. You need to check if your backup is under the same or different apple id. If Id is the same you need to erase phone and find correct backup to restore from. If different you just need to use it at restore time.

You might be able to re-enable it via this page : http://appleid.apple.com, then 'reset your password'
You might then need to log out of your account on any iOS devices that you have by tapping on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store (Settings > Store on iOS 5 and below) and then log back in so as to 'refresh' the account on them
If that doesn't fix it then you might need to contact iTunes Support : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page

When I restored my phone from icloud, half of my pics and videos have been deleted, the pics that were restored on my phone are very blurry, and the videos won't play. I have backed up to icloud and iphoto, however, some of the pics are no longer on iphoto either. Is there someway to get the videos to play on my phone again? Make the photos not as blurry as they are now and to restore the pics and videos that have been lost? I really would love to have them back, this phone is supposed to be the best and right now it doesn't seem to be. Please help if you can.

I too have noticed that once i restored from iCloud. Pictures blurry and videos wont play!

IPad & iPhone only play video from iTunes store after iOS7 upgrade

I just noticed that my iPad and iPhone can only play content from the iTunes store now that I have upgraded them to iOS7. They can not even play videos that my iPhone recorded before the upgraded. They are also not able to play videos that I RIPPED from DVD's using Handbrake. It had no problem playing any of this content before upgrading. I can still play the videos though iTunes just fine. And my old iPhone that is still on iOS6 plays the videos just fine. Does anyone know of a work around to get iOS seven devices to play video that is not from the iTunes store?

Thanks tried that as well as a full restore of the iPhone. This seems to be by design. ITunes will not even sync the files to the iOS7 devices now. Says the files will not be copied because they can not be played, but my iOS6 devices can sync them and play them.

What are the "others" which take up all the storage space in my iPhone?

I have a Mac, an ipad and an iphone 5s. According to itunes nearly 8G of storqage is occupied by "others". All I have stored in my phone is a handful of photos, music and apps, which add up to just over half the available space. However I find I am left with only 3G out of an original 32. Has anyone else encountered this problem?

Messages is often one of the largest components of "Other". Email also.
If after clearing out both of those services you still have a very large "Other" greater than about 2GB, then most likely you have some corrupt files and a restore as new might be your only way to recover that space.

Temp file takes up all free disk space

I noticed that my hard drive started losing disk space. There is a tmp file created in /var/tmp that eats up all the hard drive space until a message starts appearing saying no disk space available. The last two times the file was 945.tmp and 400.tmp. A reboot usually deletes the file but it seems that when the AD connection is lost too. Any ideas?

If you are having issues with your iPhone not playing video from any source, you may want to try some things to troubleshoot.
First, quit all running applications and test again -
iOS: Force an app to close
Next, I would try restarting the iPhone -
Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset
If the issue is still present, you may want to restore the iPhone as a new device -
How to erase your iOS device and then set it up as a new device or restore it from backups

Firefox only can't play videos from Hamster web site

Firefox plays videos from every other site but Hamster. IE and Chrome have no problems playing videos from this site

Click the Apple  top left in your screen. From the drop down menu click Software Update.
Or, open System Preferences > App Store > Check Now
If your Mac is up to date, most news websites require Flash.
Back to System Preferences > Flash Player then select the Advanced tab.

IPhone 6 & Airplay not playing videos from camera roll to Apple TV

When I try to play a video from the camera roll on my iPhone 6 to my Apple TV via airplay, i just get a black screen. Everything else works using Airplay (photos, youtube vids, netflix, etc.). Any thoughts? Thanks.

I Just tested again and here is a more detailed account of the problem: when I select a video from the camera roll after turning on AirPlay and selecting Apple tv, I get a message on the phone saying "AirPlay This movie is now playing on Apple tv". On the tv, I see the first frame of the video as a still image but the audio from the recording plays.

Have to just say it really ***** not to be able to expand storage on the next Gen iPad! I have no room for "7", not that important at the moment, but will be when things require me to have it, and I need to make room for 4GB. That is a lot of Removal and it is all stuff our child uses, which is our big problem!

Sorry, no you cannot stream from iCloud.
Also note that your apps are NOT in your iCloud space. yes, they are "in the cloud" in the sense they are online on Apple's servers, but those are the servers for the Apple iTunes and App stores, not your personal iCloud account. So your apps are the same copy of those apps that are stored for anyone and everyone, both current and future purchasers since it is just the copy that Apple has in its storefront. Your iTunes or App store account record with Apple simply has a flag in it that says you've already paid for it so can re-download it.

You sould have been given the option to delete them after importing when you imported them, as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083.
To do this on your phone, open the album you want to delete photos from (so you are viewing the thumbnails), tap Select, tap the photos, then tap the trash icon. (There is no "select all" option.)
