IPhone 5s - software update wipes contacts and needs passcode
Hi there.
at 02:30 this morning my phone was fine. At some point in the next hour all my contacts had dissapeared, and I'd not touched my phone. I noticed it was telling me there was an update to do so I set it away. When it finished it said it woudl send me a text with a passcode and the next screen rerquired a 5 digit number - the email came and the number hs 6 digits.... so it froze my phone.
It is now asking me for a passcode but I can't get into my texts to find out what it was otherwise I'm just guessing.
I'm assuming this latest screen requiring a password refers to the 6 digit number sent by text, but who knows....
Any help gratefully appreciated!

PLease help me !!Why should we care how many times you've written this? Are you making multiple threads? Are they being deleted by the Hosts?
Did you make a backup of your iPhone before you updated the iOS?
Did you import the photos to your computer?
Were the photos in the Camera Roll, Photo Stream or synced iTunes albums? -
I started the lastest iPhone 5s software update then my phone just shut down and will not turn back on. I've tried the home button, the button plus the top right button together for 20 sec, plug it in and nothing
Plug your device into the original charger & block in a wall outlet and leave it alone for a couple of hours. Then, while it is still plugged in, restart it by holding down the home button and the power button for 10-15 seconds until you see the Apple, then let go.

Will iPhone 4 software update 6.0.1 still let me use YouTube links from email and Google directions?
You may have to try deleting all the music from your phone (by going to Settings>General>Usage>Music, swipping All Music and tapping Delete), then sync it all back on with iTunes in order to fix this.

whenever I try to print anything. I tried repairing permissions and downloaded the update manually from Apple and ran with the same results. I am running OS X 10.6.8 on a 2.53 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Mac mini and printing to an Epson WorkForce 630Disconnect all devices from the computer then do the following:
Boot up from your Snow Leopard Install DVD while holding down the "c" key.
Select the language you wish to use, and then choose "Disk Utility" from the menu bar.
Your HD should appear in a panel on the left hand side of the window which opens. Select it and then click on the "repair disk" button in the right hand section of the window.
Once this process has been completed restart your computer and repair permissions directly from Disk Utility.
If Disk Utility is unable to complete the repair, you will need to use a stronger 3rd party utility like DiskWarrior, Techtool PRO (not Deluxe) or Drive Genius.
Reinstall the driver directly from Epson's website. If you are still having problems after the reinstall, you should contact Epson tech support for a solution and/or work-a-round. -

I have a 5 and got the message that the "software update is not available at this time. Try again later". Everyone is jamming the server trying to update at the same time. I'll try later this evening. Scary about the problem people are having after the update. They are saying their phones need to be re-activated. My IPhone is my only phone. Good luck everyone!

nowadays have many user have problem with update to ios7 and need active with apple id maybe in the future in order escape from these problems must be stop use these products else. Because of simple user don't know about this technology and sometime just hear from other user that it 's difficult to use then force they change phone that use to handle to another.
It is a feature to discourage the theft of iPhones by making them useless if resold. It's not going anywhere. It's simple: just don't buy a phone until you make sure that the activation lock has been disabled.

Preparing iPhone for software update???
I just updated iTunes and tried syncing my iPhone. I then downloaded the new iPhone software update and it went to "preparing iPhone for software update." It's been like this for an hour now, and I can't do anything. I can't even close iTunes. Has this happened to anyone? How long did it take your phone to prepare for "software update"? What should I do? Help....
Spent 93 minutes on the phone with support. Could not solve the problem of getting out of the restore loop. As a last resort they said to use another computer to restore the iPhone. Went to my iMac and it worked, but back on my G4 I still can't sync to iTunes, Doesn't even open up when I plug in the phone!
And all my data was lost during the restore. Lot of people out there with this problem!!! hope theyn come up with a fix soon, -

You need to do as provided. If no change after restoring as a new iPhone or not from the backup, the iPhone has a hardware problem.

Depending upon how extensive your library of legacy Microsoft Office data files are, you may want to consider continuing to use Microsoft Office 2004.
Microsoft Office's 2011 version is compatible with Lion and presumably either works with Mountain Lion or an update will make it so. The problem with this approach is that Office 2011 will "convert" your earlier data files and there lies the rub! For example, I have the need to weekly open a chart created in Excel 2004, but Excel 2011 trashes the chart in its "conversion."
So I have approached the overall problem differently.
The reason your applications do not work in Mountain Lion is that they were written for the older PowerPC CPU that all Macs used up to 2006. When Apple made its transition to the Intel CPU, they licensed software that they included in all versions of OS X (from Tiger to Leopard and optionally, Snow Leopard) called Rosetta.
Rosetta miraculously allows PowerPC applications to work on the Intel processor transparently; you do not know it is even present.
The problem is that after 6 years of the transition, Apple's license to use the underlying software expired for OS X Lion and all version thereafter (and it is doubtful that the current owner of the software, IBM, would relicense it, even if Apple were inclined to do so).
So for those of use that need to run Lion, I have offered the option to install Snow Leopard (with Rosetta) into Parallels 7:
