IPhone 5s wont turn and displaying no sign of life?

Hello i recently brought an iphone 5s second hand and fitted a new screen which has been done properly but before i fitted it , still did not work so i did a Hard reset and held down power button and the home button with it plugged in to the wall and the PC (it is fully charged). but when it is plugged into the pc and connected to iTunes there is no sign of life on the phone although the pc is picking it up and when i hold the power button is unregisters and when i turn it on it registers it but only on the PC. I cannot see a device summary just that it is a iphone 5s and its charging level and that it has not got a sim in it. i then sometimes randomly get told that it is in recovery mode and i need to do a system restore or an update but this appears to do nothing. could this be because there is no sim inserted? or do you guys have any other ideas? Because even with no sim it should surely boot up?

As far as trying to power up your device, make sure it has a good charge and then hold the button on the top of the phone and the home button on the faceplate together until the apple appears on the screen.

My iphone 4s wont turn on with out being pluged in and when i unplug it it dies instantly i pluged it in put it in dfu mode and tried to restore it hoping it might help but its stuck in dfu and has restore error 21 help!!!

After reviewing your post, it sounds like you had one issue and then got a second trying to resolve the first. A frustrating situation for sure. If your iPhone is unresponsive after updating your iOS version, then I'd like you to please follow the troubleshooting below.
If you see a black screen
You might need to charge your device before it can turn on. Plug in your device and let it charge for at least 10 minutes (20 minutes for iPad), then try turning it on.
You should see a battery icon while your device is charging. If you continue to see a black screen, reset your device. If your device doesn't respond when you press buttons
Your device might not return to the Home screen when you press the Home button, wake from sleep when you press the Sleep/Wake button, slide to unlock or power off, or it might appear frozen. Try these steps:
Restart your device.
If it still doesn't respond, or if it doesn't turn back on, reset your device.
If your device gets stuck during startup
When starting up, you might see the Apple logo or a red or blue screen for a long time, or your device might restart again. Try these steps:
Make sure that you have iTunes 12 or later on your computer.
Put your device in recovery mode.
When you get the option to restore or update, select Update. This will reinstall iOS without erasing your data.

You may need to try this More than Once...
Be sure to Follow ALL the Steps...
But... if the Device has been Modified... this will Not necessarily work.

It sounds like your phone is not successfully booting even though you have reset the device. I would next recommend attempting a backup and restore to iTunes with this article:

If you are unable to restore with iTunes I would next put the device into recovery mode, and attempt the restore again:

1. Have you tried plugging it into your computer?
2. Do you have the most updated version of iTunes?
3. Did you try a 'hard' restore. Press home and sleep button at the same time until the Apple logo comes up.

First - Press both home button and switch on/off for 15 seconds it will reboot,If it does't work try
second - connect ur iphone to system and open itunes then Press and hold both home button and switch on/off for 15 seconds phone will reboot then as soon as apple logo appears leave switch on/off without leaving home button it will go to restore mode then restore ur phone with latest version.
Hope this will resolve ur issue but all ur data will be errased.

Particularly:
If your battery doesn't charge, or if your device shows a low-battery image, black screen, or "accessory not supported" alert, follow these steps.
Inspect the connector at the bottom of the phone:
Make sure that there are no bent pins in the connector.
Make sure that the connector is free from debris.
If there are bent pins or debris, please contact Apple Support.
Otherwise, continue troubleshooting.
Make sure that the outlet you're using works.
Make sure that the Apple USB cable and Apple USB power adapter work.
Plug the device in to power and let it charge for up to 30 minutes. If you don't have an Apple USB power adapter, try connecting to a computer's high-power USB 2.0 port (not a keyboard). The computer must be on.
If the device still exhibits an issue, try turning your device off and then on again while connected to power.
If the issue is persists, please contact Apple Support.

Could be a defective battery, you should get it checked by visiting an Authorized Apple Service Provider or Apple Store next to your place.

Try to backup and restore you device in itunes...restoring the device is like removing the iOS software off the device and re-add in a newer software, after you have restore you device, MAKE SURE YOU SET UP YOUR DEVICE LIKE A NEW DEVICE, DONT NOT RESTORE FROM BACKUP!!... give the device a chance to use the newer software and see if the issue still persisting, if the issue still on going then its would be a hardware issue.
Call Apple Care and see if your device is still under warranty to get it replace
