Iphone 6&6+/iOS 8.x "No Service" issues

I did see few threads on the forum about older iOS devices (old iphones, ipads) and newer iPhones having this cellular network service drop issue but there isn't any real solution to resolve these on any of them.
I have the same problem with my new iPhone 6 (setup by restoring a backup from my old iPhone 5s) and my sis's new iPhone 6+ (new setup) both running iOS 8.x. 
I understand from the earlier threads that Apple did not yet acknowledge this issue as a widespread problem, which is ridiculous. I have taken few pictures and even uploaded a video of this happening on my new iPhone 6 http://youtu.be/xI-XK247dRo
I am regretting my upgrade to 6 and buying an addition 6+ for full price. Such a waste of time and money. I am still within the 14 day period. I am contemplating return of these unless Apple acknowledges the problem and clarifies if its an OS issue and not a hardware issue.
Has anyone found any real solution or official response from Apple about this?

yes I was low on battery when I took that picture, here is another picture that shows the issue has nothing to do with the battery juice. My carrier is AT&T.

  • After updating iPhone 3gs to IOS 5 has no service and battery drains in like 30 minutes

    after updating my iphone 3gs to the IOS 5 firmware my phone has no service it says searching then goes back to no service i tried reseting it contacting ATT and they could not figure out the problem what can i do also the battery drains faster like in 10 to 30 minutes is fully drained. Was not doing this before the update please help

    Perform a restore without restoring from a backup and see if that resolves the issue. You could erase the phone from the phone itself if you don't want to mess with iTunes. I'd just backup with iCloud before doing this to make it really easy.
    Settings>General>Reset>Erase All Content and Settings
    Post back with your results. If that doesn't resolve your problem, you're more than likely looking at a hardware problem on the phone, which is probably out of warranty by now.

    Hi guys! I have the same problem! Since Apple launched the new iPhone i get no service / searching . I also have an iPhone 5 and just now I see that it is not only me! I tried Apple support chat , I tried taking it to the genius bar at the Apple Store and all they could say to me is: " I don't know we have to take your phone and see.. of course you'll have to pay 250€ for that."
    I read on apple's support page they put a restore on iOS 8 but only for iPhone 6 and 6 plus!
    Before paying 250€ I really would like to know if you may have solved this problem by yourselves. Did you?

  • IPhone 4s and Sim failure and No service issue

    Few gentlemen told me, to replace sim card. Here is what I did,
    1) I am from India. I was using Vodafone 3g micro sim. Everyday, 4-5 times in the ideal mode I got messages like Sim failure and invalid sim. I have to restart my iPhone everytime. Then only it was working.
    2) I posted the question, people said its my card problem
    3) I bought new BSNL 3G micro sim card for iPhone. I inserted the card and got 3G working.
    4) After 3 hours, I saw No service message. I waited for some time, i went to outside to see if it was a network issue. Nothing changed.
    5) I rebooted my iPhone, it immediaetly picked the network.
    6) After few hours, again it lost and said no service.
    7) I then didn't rebooted it.
    8) In the morning,  I saw Sim Failure and invalid sim message. Useless
    9) I now rebooted and Sim is working with 3G network.
    Now please ,
    is this iPhone issue? It is for sure. I am tired now. Battery is dying and with this Sim Failure and No service, I am totally disappointed.

    My Iphone 4S and it was working fine (5.0) until i upgrade to 5.0.1(9A406).
    Now I am facing alot of network issues.  I get messages liek NO Sim , SIM FAILURE. 
    I even restored the sowftware from ITUNES but i am still facing the same problem.
    I was using Vodafone first but I heard that due to problem in micro sim reader of Iphone 4s i shd use a 128 K or 64 K sim.. Since only Airtel provided 64K sim ...I installed that in my phone. But still i am facing the same issue.
    I would appreciate if you can tell me whats Tweaked version of 5.0.1.
    the current software installed on my phone is 5.0.1 (9A406).

    Was it purchased from an official Apple Store, not a reseller?  Only Apple Stores sell official factory unlocked phones.  The others sell hacked to unlock phones, and the unlocking is unstable.
    Try these steps, as needed:
    1. Reset phone - press both home and on/off buttons for at least 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears.
    2. Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
    3. Replace SIM card (and reset network settings again)
    4. Restore Phone in iTunes using a backup
    5. Restore in iTunes as new, without using a backup

    Go to settings do a reset after that tou will need to enter you Router wireless key Then wait for iPhone to come on. This worked for me on iPhone & ipad. Bsydd uk

    It sounds a lot like your phone was hacked or jailbroken to unlock it prior to your trying to update it.
    If that is the case, it is nowpermanently bricked.

    The iPhone 3G is Not Compatible with iOS 6...
    It also appears that your phone may have been Hacked and / or Jailbroken...
    If this is the case... you are out of luck... Because...

    I couldn't find the edit button on my original post so I am posting an update here.
    I have gone through more apps and have had good luck on all but one more.  And it's not that the app doesn't work, I am talking about the Yahoo Weather app, It works fine, but when you swipe between cities the screen lags a bit and it sometimes doesn't move between pages the way it should.  On iOS 7.1.2 it was smooth as butter but on iOS 8.0, not so much.  I will post a note in the app store to let them know.  I really like the Yahoo app better than the new stock app.
    I have been going through my games and they all work fine. Angry Birds (Original and Stella), Canabalt, Minecraft, Bejeweled 2, Silly Walks, PopWords, Doodle Jump, Deep Green all seem to work just fine. 
    Starbucks app works as it should. 
    I will stop back again next week after I have had the weekend to play with it in detail and post my thoughts again.

    Pop out the SIM card and reinsert it.

    Try settings/general/reset/reset network settings.  If that does not do it then contact your carrier
