IPhone 6 and Bluetooth phone connectivity issues with my vehicle: this is how I fixed it.
With so many threads on this topic, I wanted to detail the steps I took to fix my iPhone 6 Bluetooth issues regarding connectivity to my vehicle and handsfree calling. My phone was pairing with my vehicle without a problem and syncing my contacts and call history but when I attempted to make a call (from either the phone or the vehicle screen) the audio went out and I could not hear the call either through the vehicle speakers or on the phone. The call was going through but I was unable to see it on my vehicle screen and/or hear it either the phone or the vehicle screen.
Based on my research and what I have learned so far, the people having problems are those who restored their new iPhone 6 from an iCloud backup from a previous phone, rather than setting up their iPhone 6 as a new phone. I did an iCloud restore from my previous 5s running iOS 8.
First, I am a Verizon customer and I enabled Advanced Calling on my line. After I requested that this feature be added to my line, under “Cellular” settings on my iPhone, I enabled LTE voice & data.
Next steps:
1) Unpair/remove iPhone from the vehicle;
2) Forget/remove the vehicle from the phone Bluetooth settings;
3) Soft reset the iPhone;
4) Reset network settings on the iPhone; and
5) Pair the phone to the vehicle again and attempt to make a call.
If that does not work…
6) Perform a factory reset, erasing EVERYTHING from your phone and set it up as a new iPhone rather than restoring from a backup.
Resetting the network settings seems to be working for some people. It did not work for me. I tried it a few times with no result. I did the dreaded factory reset, paired the phone with my vehicle and had all of my Bluetooth functionality back and was able to use the handsfree phone with zero issues.
I was on the phone yesterday multiple times with Apple, Toyota Entune, Verizon and my Toyota dealer. Verizon blamed Toyota Entune, Toyota Entune blamed Verizon and my Toyota dealer blamed Apple. Nobody had a clue how to fix this issue or what was causing it. I don’t know the exact reason why the previous iCloud backups are killing the Bluetooth connections, I just know what worked for me and I thought it was worth sharing.

The new 8.0.2 update DID NOT FIX THIS ISSUE AT ALL. After you power off and on with the phone, same issue as the 8.0, all 3 of my cars lost Bluetooth connection and shows no signal at all. Good job Apple, what a lousy update you guys did.

I've got a Macbook Pro 15"... Just got my 3GS today... But for the life of me cannot seem to get the 3GS connected to my MBP over Bluetooth... Both the MBP and the 3GS have BT turned on, and both "discoverable"... Done the pairing with the code provided by the MBP, and entered into the 3GS... But that's it... the iPhone shows up in the devices under Bluetooth Preferences, but just can't "connect"... There's a spinning icon on the 3GS in the BT panel... with my MBP showing up, but just sits there, spinning...

--if you are trying to use the iphone as a modem for your macbookpro:
currently at&t doesnt support using he iphone for tethering... they say they will later ... no real details about limits and prices but you can bet they will be low and high respectively.
--if you are trying to sync the iphone with itunes over bluetooth:
that profile doesnt exist yet and or itunes doesnt support it yet from what i can find... gonna have to stick with the usb cable... which is faster than bluetooth anyway -
My itunes account on windows xp shuts down for no reason. If even try to delete something from my library it shuts down. It wont recognize my iphone and there is an issue with network connectivity and I can't connect to the store. I have already reinstalled itunes and did a system restore on my computer, firewall has been checked, itunes is ok on firewall and virus scan done. Ideas??
Same problem. I can see the itunes store so not a problem with windows firewall. The account is active on my iphone so i know i am not locked out. I can connect the PC to my iphone so i know itunes is working ok. It is just logging into itunes on this pc which doesn't work. Only thing I can think of is that the email address I use for my apple id has been offline for a while and is working again now, I'm wondering whether this has been the case for others who are having this issue?

i had to get an internet conection from a friend to download akll my apps evrytime i sync with my pc wich already had itunes all apps except statup are gone only thing left was an i tunes song i brought from itunes each time i use my apple id pass word it tells me to retry i do this 4 to 5 times and some times have no success my latest issue was my sim locking buy itself then asking me to put in a sim without a lock , i only have 1 sim i brought 2 phones and have had no issues with the other phone and when i do have the original startup apps i can not move or arange them thru itunes apps and i cannot use sim from other iphone pls help evry1 i ask wouldnt have a clue because there having there own dificulties
If you also backed up to your computer - you can restore from that backup - to retrieve the files. As far as I know- that should have no bearing on deleting them from iCloud - they should still be in that backup.
If you used iOS file sharing with your computer - and saved the files to your computer - you can retrieve them from there.
if the only place that the files were saved to was iCloud, I know of no way to get them back. -
IPhone and Keynote remote connection issues.
I have been trying to connect my phone to my computer so that I can use to keynote remote app. Over the wifi network there is a bunch of lag while trying to control so that is not good at all. Therefore I tried to use the ad-hoc mode from my macbook pro. Using channel 9 I was able to get it to connect but after using the remote to change a couple of slides I get lag and then an error saying that I am no longer connected to a wifi network.
Wow, I was really hoping that there would be an answer in here since it isn't that publicized.
I have found that when using the network created by my MacBook Pro (no wifi at work) the signal is so weak that the phone will only search for keynote when my iPhone is sitting on the keyboard. Even then though, it will never connect to keynote. I don't know what is wrong with it because the day the iPhone app came out it worked fine.
I plan on calling Apple today about it. I'll post if I find out anything. -
MacBook Air intermittently has issues connecting to websites when wireless shows connected to the internet. The pages show that I am offline, but I can ping Google DNS. Windows PC, iPhone and Android phone have no issue displaying the same web pages.How do I solve this issue?
Go step by step and test.
1. Power off the router. Unplug it from the wall. Wait a while.
Plug it back to the wall. Power the router on. Wait until all the lights are lit properly. It will take a while.
Restart the computer.
Start up in Safe Mode.

2. Empty Caches
Safari > Preference > Advanced
Checkmark the box for "Show Develop menu in menu bar".
Develop menu will appear in the Safari menu bar.
Click Develop and select "Empty Caches" from the dropdown.
3. Deselect Proxies if selected.
System Preference > Network > Advanced > Proxies Tab
Under "Select Protocol", uncheck any box if selected.
Click "OK" then "Apply”. -
if I have an older iPhone and it is connected to my cloud account with my other devices, what would happen if I delete my cloud account from that phone, will I delete it across all my devices?
Also, I have one more thing to ask. Can I then set up a new cloud account for the old iPhone just for my son to use?

IPhone 6/iOS 8 email issues with wifi connection

I have just upgraded from an iPhone 4 (iOS 7) to an iPhone 6 (iOS 8) and am having an issue with my pop email account. I used my iPhone 4 backup to set up new iPhone, so all the settings were as they were in my old phone. I have two email accounts, one is an IMAP account and the other is a POP account (which is my main email), I have no problems connecting to the server and downloading emails when connected via 4G (its super fast), but when I am connected via wifi, the POP account takes ages to connect to the server and check for emails (stuck on checking for email). I can speed up the process by closing mail app completely and reopening, then it checks and downloads really quickly (IMAP account has no problems), but this is frankly a pain.
I have spent ages on the phone with Apple support, who have got me to delete my POP email account twice, reset network settings, reset the phone using on/off button and home button, all to no avail. They are intent on telling me it's my email service providers fault, but as I pointed out there is no issue on 4G and my old iPhone (using iOS 7) on wifi has no issues, so can't be email provider. I have also tried using Apple's wifi in store to rule out router issue and the problem happened there too.
Have now run out of suggestions and options. I'm not sure if it's the phone itself, either a hardware or software issue (Apple support think not). Someone told me that it could be the wifi on my phone blocking the connection to the server. I have an appointment booked at the genius brand they have suggested wiping the phone and setting up as a new phone to see if the problem occurs, but this seems a bit drastic and I would lose all messages etc. Any help would be appreciated.I have solved the issue! I tried my pop account on other devices with iOS 8 and the same thing happened, so I deduced that the issue is a glitch in iOS 8 with wifi and pop accounts. I managed to get hold of the IMAP settings for my email provider and all seems to be well. Happy days!

I have a MacBook with Snow Leopard 10.6.8. The last few weeks it has been constantly dropping internet connection, and one of these messages appear on the page: "Safari cannot open this page because the server where this page is located isn't responding" or "Safari cannot open this page because you are not connected to the internet" comes up. I will check Wifi and I am connected. No wifi connectivity issues with iphone or windows 7 laptop, this doesn't happen with either of those devices. I have unplugged and reset router, cleared cache, still happening. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

HI! I have a new macbook air but having difficulty connecting to a router if I am about 10 meters away. My iMac, iPad, iPhones and iPods can connect easily. Is there something that I need to configure? I have no issues if I am close to it. Thank you!
Hello, If you are dealing with one of the really thin iMac's that have no superdrive, then the superdrive icon should not appear on the desktop when you plug it in, but when you put in a disk (CD, DVD, etc.) that should appear. If you go into disk utility, and look at superdrive, that should be clickable and not grayed out when you have it plugged in. If this does not show up in disk utility, go to Apple, and ask to speak to their supervisor, speaking to a customer service agent is like talking to a potato, nothing gets done. Good Luck!

CR2008 connectivity issue with BOE Universes(sap and non sap universes)

Recently we tried to build/connect to a Universe in Crystal Reports2008 via 'Make a new connection tab'.
The universes are of SAP BW or non SAP Lying in BOE Servers and we are trying to build reports on them by conncting/utilizing the universes as a database for Crystal Reporting.
Our issue is most of the time we are not able to connect to the Universes and the connectivity blows out by some 'communication Error' thing initially.
While at some other points in time, the connectivity takes us to the Universe and we are able to select few characteristics and key figures from the Universe but the moment we go futher and try to run by pressing 'OK' button it blows out and say' LOGON FAILED'.
Apparantly, it is an connectivity issue with BOE server and from the different blogs it looks like it is a known issue for long.
The proposed issue resolution were like either CR2008 should be SP2 with BOE SP3 or there should be some additional .dll files defined in the paths in case of MSSQL database. None of this applies to us as we are on CR2008 with SP3 and going back to SP2 is probably not a viable option for us, and we are using Oracle as underlying database in this specific case.( i would like to tell you here that we are able to connect to Oracle Database directly though).
We have raised a message with SAP and was just wondering if we do have some solution/workaround already available to this known issue in place please?

I have 2 computers (1 Pc and 1 MAC) and 1 Iphone.The I phone is synchronised with the PC. I want to synchronised it also with my MAC, without erasing all my music and files. Someone can help me to find the answer ?
i have already try the copy/paste thing with the ID of the file "iTunes Music Library.xml" it didn't change a thing. each time I relaunched Itunes, the ID is the first I have in the MAC.
I have more than 5 000 files of music. I don't want to recreate one by one all my playlits.

ConstanceYou can sync iphone with one and only one computer at a time. If you sync to another, it will erase the current content and replace with content form the new computer. There is no way around this.
Put everything on one computer and sync from there.
BTW, you posted in the Home Share forum. Your question seems to have nothing to do with home share. -
I downloaded latest software on iphone 4 and installed new software on my imac (snow leopard 8.6)and now phone not synching with new itunes. Itunes does recognize the phone but the itunes is totally different now. It doesn't look anything like the previous vesions. I can't even find a tab for synching. very strange. any help is appriciated.

my airport time capsule will no longer allow our iPhones or vizio smart tvs to connect to it, though my iPad air mac mini and mac air connect fine. Why is this? does a recent software update have anything to do with it?
What model is your TC? What is the firmware?
I recommend you do a factory reset and use short names.. not apple recommended names.
Short.. 2-20 characters .. less than 10 even better.
No spaces.
Pure alphanumeric.
Set fixed channels for 2.4ghz wireless.. test with 11, 6, 1 at least.
That often helps.. if not and is old, ie Gen1-4 go back to 7.6.1 firmware which is far more solid.
