IPhone 6 and Music won't sync

Ever since I got the iPhone 6, I haven't been able to get my entire music library to sync to my phone. Tonight I tried plugging my phone up to my computer to get it to sync that way with no success. When I go into iTunes, I don't have the option to click on my music. It just says, iTunes Match is on. I can sync some music but not all. Why is this? I really want a certain album that I purchased on iTunes on my phone, but it doesn't seem to want to sync. It synced fine with my old iPhone. Just not with the 6. What am I doing wrong? I'm almost ready to reset it to its factory settings...
Oh! And, am I the only one tired of losing ringtones/alert tones when an iOS update comes up?

Hi kelleym,
It appears you are unable to sync while using iTunes Match. I've linked to an article which explains why there may no sync options while iTunes Match is turned on:
iTunes 12 for Mac: Use iTunes Match to access all your music anytime, anywhere
Turn on iTunes Match on your iPod touch, iPhone, or iPad
WARNING:    After you turn on iTunes Match on a device, all the music that’s currently on the device is deleted and replaced with songs from iCloud. Also, you can’t use iTunes to sync music to the device. You can add songs to the device only by downloading them from iCloud.
Sign in to the iTunes Store from the device using the same Apple ID that you used to set up iTunes Match on your computer (if you haven’t done so already).
On your device’s Home screen, tap Settings, and tap Music.
Tap to turn on iTunes Match.
For information about adding songs to your device from iCloud, see the documentation for your device.
Thank you for contributing to Apple Support Communities.

I had the same issue....you will need to call Apple support for assistance...when you do, be SURE to get someone who is competant!!!!  I got a dumb a** and they did not instruct me properly and I lost EVERYTHING on my phone!!!!  What started out as a simple fix/problem has turned into a catastrophe! Good luck to you

  • Iphone 4s music won't sync

I have an Iphone 4s and I updated it to the last iOS (version 7). I also updated my iTunes to the last version, and I had no problems until a month ago: when I tried to sync new songs, It said "cancelling sync". I looked up through the community and I found that the problem is common, I tried EVERYTHING and yet no solution: restores won't work, resetting the library won't work, restoring from back up won't work. I'm really irritated by this, now I have no music on my iPhone and it's starting to become seriously hard to accept.
Please, can someone help me out here?

I did the restore and restore from backup as per ckuan's instructions and I was able to sync music just fine.  I did have to redownload all the apps after restoring from backup, but iCould makes it easy since you can go Purchased within the App Store and download them via iCloud.  Even if you did a backup while the problems existed, restore iOS 7 is what matters most, and that's what the restore process will do.  I am not sure how it affects saved games and all that, so you might need to consider that first.

  • Upgraded to iTunes 10.5 and now my iPhone and iPad won't sync

Please help. I've just upgraded both my iphone and ipad to 10.5 and now neither device will sync. Most of my music and books won't load and I keep on getting an error (An error occurred while restoring this iphone (-69)). Please could anyone help? I'm desperate and I don't know what to do.
I don't know much about PCs - so layman's terms please.

I have had this exact same problem with iphone 4.
    How was this resolved?

After I updated to iTunes 9.0.3.15 I tried to sync my iPod Touch. All went well until this error message popped up; "Some of the items in the iTunes Library, including "headstrong", were not copied to the iPod "Sam's iPod" because you are not authorized to play them on this computer." ok so I go and authorize it type in my PW and Apple ID correctly and get this error message!; "We could not complete your iTunes Store request. The file or directory is corrupt and unreadable. There was an error in the iTunes Store. Please Try Again later."
I run diagnostics and this is what I got and pass all the tests except for the CD in the drive, could anyone please help? It won't allow me to sync any apps to my iTouch and half of my purchased music.

Are you on a Mac? I found this [Type -36 error (I/O Errors (bummers)|http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2433]
This file is having difficulty while either reading from the drive or writing to the drive. The file
may have been improperly written data to the drive or the hard drive or disk may be damaged.
This is almost always indicative of a media error (hard error on the disk). Sometimes (rarely) it is transient.
Solutions: Try copying the file to another drive. Use a disk recovery software, such as Disk First Aid to examine the disk. You can try rebooting with all extensions off. Once in a while this will allow you to read the data. The file in question should be restored from a backup that was stored on a different disk. Regular backups can reduce the time to recover from this error.
    Hope that helps.

  • IPhone/iTunes music won't sync

I can't get my music to sync to my iPhone.  I have iPhone 5 and iTunes version 11 (Everything is updated).  I had to delete my music last week to upgrade to iOS 7 because there wasn't enough room on my phone.  And now I can't get it to sync back onto the phone.  I've tried everything I found in the apple support discussions to no avail.  I can't even manage my music manually. It just will not sync to the phone whether it's manual or over wi-fi.

It sounds like you're having the same problems as me.
I've spoke to Apple about it and nothing worked when i spoke to customer service. I was then passed on to the line manager who couldn't help either. I was then told that the problem would be passed on to the engineers to see if they could see what the problem was.
I've not heard a thing from Apple since.

  • Just bought new Ipod - and music won't sync.  what's wrong?

I just bought the ipod nano - nothing is synching at all.  Not sure what to do.

when i click it or try to move it to my ipod it says the file could not be located...would i like to locate it? so what's that all about?
Exactly what is says. Basically each song has an attribute/piece of metadata, that holds the track's location on your computer. If it can't find it there, it puts a small explanation point next to it in iTunes.
This script may be able to help. You are going to need to search for these tracks and either place them in the proper location already specified in iTunes or re-import them and delete the missing entry.

In iTunes, try signing out of your Apple ID & then back in: click on iTunes Store on the left sidebar of iTunes, click on your Apple ID on the top right, sign out, sign back in.  Then try to sync your purchased music to your phone again.

  • My iPhone 5 ios7, won't sync music with itunes 11.1.2.32

My iPhone 5 ios7.0.3, won't sync music with itunes 11.1.2.32.
The Sync starts and finsihes but no changes are made to the content on the iphone. No files transfer. Tried both wifi and cable sync.

Sorry, but this doesn't work either.  Thank you for the response though.
I originally tried the Manually Manage Music and Videos and even though I selected what I wanted to copy and then clicked the Sync button.....nothing gets copied over.   I then tried copying over my entire library (and I expected the phone to explode since my library is HUGE) and clicked the Sync button....nothing got copied over.
I have uninstalled iTunes, reinstalled iTunes (and lost half my library thank you Apple).
I have deleted my iPhone backup.
I have updated my iTunes (not that there were any new updates).
I have updated my iPhone (not that there were any new updates).
I have changed and tested every single setting, every which way possible and NOTHING works.
I can sync movies, pictures, apps - no problem whatsoever.  But music?  Forget it.
I hate the iPhone and I won't recommend it to ANYONE.  All I wanted was an all-in-one device to make my life easier and this is NOT IT!  This should not be this hard and as far as I'm concerned, Apple failed BIG TIME.

  • IPhone music won't sync with new iMac computer

I've been using a PC with my iPhone. now I use an iMac and transferred my entire iTunes library from the PC to the Mac, but the music won't sync to the iPhone. I've tried restoring the phone and everything but nothing seems to be working. help?!

What are your selections under the Music tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes?
Are you syncing contacts with the Address Book and calendar events with iCal on your Mac and if so, are your contacts and calendar events synced?
Have you selected any photos on your Mac to be transferred to your iPhone and if so, are the photos being transferred to your iPhone when syncing?
Long story short, do all other selections under the various tabs for your iPhone sync preferences work except for music?

Perhaps check to see if you're accidentally running two different versions of iTunes. There's some information on troubleshooting that in the Opening iTunes section of the following document:
