Iphone 6 and the lies Verizon keeps pushing
Order 2 iphone 6's on 10/08/2014 with a 10/24/2014 delivery date. Called twice that day because I hadn't had notification and was told that it shipped and was on it's way....lies. Called later that night talked to a very good rep and said, they werent' coming. I got an email later stating that Verizon was "sorry" and that it would be delivered by 11/3/14. Low and behold it is still not here, now I am being told 11/7/14 but no email.
Verizon lied, I know it's not all there fault but they promised people phones and couldn't deliver. If you can find an iphone 6 with a different provider until you receive your phone you can cancel the order and get out of the contract deal. YOU DO NOT HAVE A CONTRACT UNTIL YOU RECEIVE THE PHONE. I am going to find either an AT&T or US Cellular store that has the phones I want because they have them in stock, if you want your iphone 6 now, you can go to another provider and get one.
I wasn't frustrated until after the 24th when I was told my phones would absolutely be there by the 3rd of November, now I'm frustrated, add to the fact I was lied to multiple times but customer service representatives that "oh it has shipped" or "you should see that by the end of the day" or "well FedEx does take time to deliver but it is there". NO, NO, and NO. That's the biggest issue. Bad news is one thing, it's still the truth, but lies for the sake of placating the customer, that's just bad. That's why I"m spreading the word, if you don't have your phone but can get it with another provider, do it, my contract is not valid until I activate that new phone as well as anyone else's that's in the same boat. You are giving me no reason to stay, no, "hey, sorry we weren't forthcoming with delivery dates, here's 2gb of free data for being a great customer and for our dishonesty" All I'm hearing is, "well we said some things we couldn't back up but please be patient, but well, we really don't care in the long run as you are just one person"

Try deleting the yahoo email account, and then recreate the account so you are sure all the information is now correct. I have had email information get corrupted for unknown reasons and found just removing and recreating the account to resolve the issues most of the time.
Check the ports, incoming and outgoing, on your iDevices to be sure the same are used on the iMac. -
What a horrible way to treat customers. I was due for updates on my phones and thought I should maybe check some other prices but have been with Verizon for 20 yrs so ended up there. I got 2 new IPhones 5s and the wife couldn’t decide what she wanted so she stayed with old phone but this locked me into a new 2 yr contract . Within a wk one of the new iPhones started turning on and of like 10 –15 times a day. Wk 2 it turned off and would not turn on again . It was my sons who was in college at the time so we talked and he took it in to a Verizon store where he was told I need to come in since the account was in my name. He was away from home , Verizon could see on account it was his phone they said it was not abused, they could not even turn it on , they sold me the phone give him another phone maybe even a loaner till he gets another. So now I need to go to store and explain to 3 different people this is my phone and my son has it and I need a new one. what a waste of time after about 2 hrs and talking to different people and yes they said there were notes on his account from other person he had talked to from different store. So I finally walk out with a receipt in hand and being told I would have a new phone in a couple days. As I sat in my vehicle thinking this is stupid I looked at my receipt and noticed it said droid on it so back into Verizon I went. The salesman said that’s what your son has on his account. My son had activated a friends old phone so he has one since VERIZON REFUSED to give him one. Another hr 3 people and yes they can see he had a new iPhone and notes on it from other store. Sometimes sorry just doesn't do it. I was now late for a appointment . Now I walk out and have been told I will get a new iPhone in the mail in about 2 wk Yes 2 wks again I bought it there just give me a new one and you send old one back. I will also get a new droid that I have to send back because they said they cant cancel it . In about 3 days I get the Droid and sent it back Verizon mistake and a waste of my time . After waiting over 2 wks and not receiving a new iPhone back to Verizon I went . I am now bitter at Verizon after doing 20 yrs of business with them. 3 people 1 hr later I was told it got delivered to my post office . I got the tracking num called the post office and they say o yes that was the droid. Go back in to Verizon another hr of explaining I walk out being told I will get a new iPhone in a couple of days, We’ll see . Once again I got the phone in your store just give me a new one . Do you realize how much of my time you have wasted ? do you care? O what is Your Policy ? How many Billion did you make last year ? I am Locked into a new 2 yr contract . Why don’t you just release me ? After 20 yrs do you think I will ever renew my contract ?
Simple process. If an iPhone go to the Apple Store and not Verizon
the phone from Verizon will be a refurbished device and not new unless under the 14 day worry free guarantee

I dropped my iPhone 4s and the back cracked and it now will not turn on. I was wondering if anyone could give me an estimated price to fix it. And I do have insurance on it with best buy. I'm on Verizon's phone plan so I don't know if it would be cheaper to have it fixed with Best Buy or Verizon. I cracked my iPod a little bit ago and got a refurbished one for free with the insurance on it but I don't now if it would be different because it is a phone. I don't know really anything about this stuff so any information that could possibly help me is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
That's only for the iPhone 5. On the 4 and 4S, they can repair the back glass in store for $30. They will not replace the display on a 4 or 4S. They must replace the entire phone. Replacing the display on them requires disassembling the entire phone, which they will not do in store.

That's exactly right. And since you have a MacBook Air (as I do), that means the synching should occur just fine (if you've set it up right in iTunes). In other words, once you actually do the update, the iTunes on your MacBook Air will re-sync your photos back to your iPhone.
Basically, the process is that your iPhone gets backed up, wiped clean, then the new iOS version gets installed, then the backup gets restored. That will restore everything in the article above, which does not include your photos. But the sync process that happens after the iOS installation would restore your photos from iPhoto given you've set it up that way in iTunes.
When you have your iPhone plugged into iTunes, while looking at the iPhone's summary page, click "Photos" on the right side of iTunes to see how you have your sync set up.
Regardless, it sounds like you'll be fine! Your photos will wind up in iPhoto once you place them there. They will be safe there. -

Open calender, on the top left open calenders, and then uncheck birthdays on the bottom.

I disabled my iPhone 4 and while doing a restore via iTunes, it is downloading and timing out so the download is not completing. any idea how to get past that? I have tried many times and the same error keeps happening.

I just tried deleteing every smart mailbox and re-constituting a few. This went OK until I made one that had to reference a Gmail IMAP 'folder' and as soon I did that ... BAM! ... the infinite spinner appears.

It means you should take it to the Genius Bar. You will no doubt need to buy an out of warranty replacement.

Then it's sending as SMS and not iMessage (that's good) so deleting the contact probably didn't help. It also seems iMessage isn't redirecting his texts as he's not used and apple device on the account previously. Can he receive a picture message from you instead? Does he receive texts from other apple devices? (iPhones,pods/pads) try sending a text through Verizon online using your account on a web browser. If it is also blocked then it confirms the issue is with his device, well at least points you there rather than guessing if it's yours or his or both. There's some ideas, let me know- Joe

I have got the new iPhone 5 and the iOS inside is suppose to have the facebook integration, i have upgraded to the latest version, now i get the facebook option in my notification centre, but i thougth i was going to get all the notifictaion , but sadly i have to log on to fb application to get all my notification updates , nothing is notifyied to me , is there a way to make this happen ??, if yes please help me out , i have tried all the options but doesnt seem to work im afraid ..

Three things come to mind:
1. I think you're implying when you travel away from your home to a more populated area, the cellular coverage improves and your iPhone works well. Is that right?
2. Do you have a case or some other obstruction over or near your iPhone's antenna? Have you tried moving or removing any possible obstructions near the antenna?
3. AT&T has a (free) app in the App Store called "Mark the Spot". You can use this app to report voice and/or data issues to AT&T, as well as keep up on progress they may be making in improving coverage in your area. Your trouble reports are geotagged (if you wish). -

Your plan is generally OK, but I would suggest a different approach, since you're so frazzled by it.
1. Update iPhoto first; check and backup the iPhoto Library;
2. Upgrade to Yosemite; This will prompt you to migrate to Photos, but you don't have to do it, so don't!
3. iPhoto 9.6.1 will remain in your Applications folder and you can continue to use it;
4. Learn more about Photos, it's features and how iCloud Photo Library really works (for example, once you turn it on, you won't need to download manually);
5. When you do feel you know enough about Photos, only then launch it to migrate your photos; after migration your iPhoto Library remains fully functional, in case you want to revert to using iPhoto, so that part should not worry you.
Thet biggest issue you have is the small amount of free space. You might want to address tha first, or locate your new Photos Library on an external drive as well, and only move it to your local drive when it's been optimized (or keep it on an external).
