IPhone 6 Bluetooth Issues

It might be a bit early for this question, but I'll try anyway:
I just got an iPhone 6, and have issues using handsfree (voice calls) in my 2011 VW Jetta SE.  I'm able to successfully pair the device with the car, but when I try to dial from the phone it doesn't "connect" with the car speaker / mic system and just calls the person directly from the phone. I'm able to use the steering wheel buttons to give a dial command in which it dials the number, but once the party connects the call drops off the car system, and is on the phone.  If someone tries to call me the VW radio show telephone as its ringing, and the speaker have a ringing sound.  But, when I try to hit the phone button on the steering wheel to answer there is no response.
I don't believe this is an iOS 8 issue, because I used handsfree with with my 5S on iOS 8 just fine.
Any thoughts?
Jason

Love Apple but I have got to draw your attention to the issues your iPhone 6 & 6 plus are experiencing including myself. The following heading on the iMore web forum just about sums it up. I have also posted on it as 'sharr104' with my experiences with the new device.
Heading as posted:
'Why isn't my iPhone 6 not working in handsfree via bluetooth in honda accord 2011?'
Much like all others have posted here I have the same issue with a 2012 Audi A8 & 2012 Chrysler Grand Voyager.

  • 8.2 iPhone 6 + bluetooth issue

Up until 8.2, my bluetooth connectivity with my VW Passat was just fine.  I could stream music, make calls using the steering wheel controls, etc.  When a call came in, music would cut out, caller id would show on the phone and I could answer the call using the steering wheel controls.
This worked for my iPhone 4, iPhone 5 and iPhone 6+ up until this latest iOS update (8.2)
Now, when a call comes in, my car will ring, the phone stays with a black screen.  After 2 rings, my iPhone 6+ begins to ring and the caller id shows.   If I was using the music app, the music will cut out when the phone rings (as it should), but as soon as the phone is answered, the music begins playing again over the call.
I can no longer make a call using the steering wheel controls.  After saying 'call' then the name, the car disconnects the phone.  Again, this has never happened with any of the iterations of iOS with iPhones and this car up until 8.2
I can, however, make calls using the iPhone 6+ and Siri, using the car speaker and mic.
I've noticed other glitches in iOS 8 (all versions) but this bluetooth issue is most annoying and dangerous.  It has now removed Hands Free from my car and forced me to use the handset if calls are made or come in.
Has anyone else seen similar issues on 8.2?  I've cleared the Bluetooth settings and restarted the phone many times and I can't seem to get it to work correctly.

Yes, I have exactly the same problem with all our VW & Volvo at work. iOS 8.1 iphone 6 & 6+ Bluetooth 4.0
now, we have bought some other smart phone with latest 4G+ technology : no more problems good connectivity
we used old iphone 4 with iOS 5.1.1: the Bluetooth connectivity was fine, but no 4G+!!

  • IPhone 6 BlueTooth issues with iOS8

    Ok here is my findings:
Tried 2 iPhone 5 units before iOS8 and no issues with Bluetooth (1 I had for 2 years and no issues in my car). Once updating to iOS8 the bluetooth didn't work well at all for phone calls but music connects fine. Strange issues with the unit automatically start dialling but not able to cancel call until you disconnected bluetooth.
Also incoming calls ring but unable to answer and seem to lock up so you have to disconnect bluetooth to hang up.
I tried everything listed in the forums here and what the Apple reps told me. It works for a short while until the phone gets turned off or synced with iTunes. Now I have a new iPhone 6 with iOS 8 and it worked initially before I started setting things up.
I did not restore from a back up, I started as a new phone. Once I installed all my apps (Not in iTunes, rather manually over the air) and changed settings on the phone (not sure if it because of changing settings or turning the phone off) it would not connect to bluetooth in my car anymore, well it does just for music. I have tried my wife's iPhone 5c and it seems to work fine with my bluetooth so it definitely has nothing to do with my vehicle.
Apple there is a definite issue here. Stop telling me and other people to contact my car manufacturer to fix the issue. It all worked fine before iOS 8. Something needs to be done ASAP or I will be returning my phone and jumping ship to an Android or Windows phone as much as that may pain me. I have been a loyal Apple customer for the last 7 years. If this is how you are going to treat me and other loyal customers, you will not keep us for long.
I am hoping someone from Apple is reading this. If so I am expecting to be contacted. We expect a resolution fast!

I had same Bluetooth issues with iOS 8 on my iPhone 6; no phone/no music streaming although showing as "connected" with my 2 vehicles (VW and Audi).
Apple telephone technical support team solved issue with both cars as follows:
    1. Delete the phone from handsfree memory in the Bluetooth car settings.
    2. "Forget" the handsfree device (car) in the iPhone Bluetooth settings.
    3. Reset ALL settings in iPhone (not just network settings)!!
(note: I had to reset ALL settings twice in a row for this to work.)
It worked in both cars! (Hope it stays working.....?)
You will have to reset wallpaper, and most other settings, as well.  Certainly worth the trouble to get car Bluetooth up and running properly.
    Good luck.

  • IPhone 4:  Bluetooth Issues - Hands Free Phone in vehicle

    All,
This is my first Apple post.  I usually go out and Google and find/figure things out on my own, but I am stumped!
I recently upgraded my wife to an iPhone 4 16gb Black from an iPhone 3GS 8gb.  With the 3GS, we were able to pair the phone with our 2011 Toyota Highlander with bluetooth capability, giving me nearly 9 month pregnant wife the ability to stream audio to her stereo, but more importantly she was able to make/receive calls in her car using the hands free.
We were able to go through the setup like we did with the 3GS to pair it.  It pairs up just fine.  However, the only thing that works is the audio streaming.  She cannot access the phone for calling/receiving calls with the vehicle.  When a call comes in, I remember the 3GS having a bluetooth headset option that showed up, but as long as the bluetooth was on in the car, the stereo would automatically pick up the call and she could talk to the car and hear the call through the speakers.
I have read that the iPhone 4 had bluetooth issues with older IOS versions, but she is on 4.3.3 currently.  Again, audio streaming her music works, just not the phone.  What gives?

    Hey Shane!
You could always try going to Toyota and see if there is a firmware upgrade available for your car.  Even though your car is new, there are always firmware releases available.
New Phones don't always work with older firmwares in new Car Stereos.  With Technology changing everyday you want to make sure your always update on all devices involded.

  • Iphone 4S BlueTooth issue

I had one Iphone 4 connected to my scala rider and we were happy. I moved to the 4S and my new phone just can not connect to any device, even my Ipad.
    What am I doing wrong?

I just got my first call in my Prius with BLU Logic Bluetooth. My previous phone (lg lotus) read the caller's name if it was in my contacts and read the phone number if not. With the iPhone 4s all I got was my ring tone with no caller id. This caller was in my contact list on the iPhone. Is there a setting I need to change to get caller id?

  • Fix for iPhone 5 Bluetooth audio loss / disconnect?

I recently upgraded from an iPhone 4s to an iPhone 5.  I have a Motorola HX550 Bluetooth Headset which worked flawlessly with the iPhone 4s.  However, since upgrading to the iPhone 5, I frequently lose audio when in the middle of a call.  I am not certain whether it is a full disconnect or just an audio loss.  The person on the other end reports still being able to hear me, however, I suppose they could hear me speaking over another source even if bluetooth disconnected. The loss of audio is always preceded by a quick shrill noise, so I can easily tell when it happens.  All I have to do to fix the problem is to select Audio Source on the call screen, temporarily switch audio back to the iPhone, and then switch back to the headset, and then it starts working again.
Is is important to note that I am not the only one experiencing this issue:
This is a link to someone using the Motorola H19txt headset experiencing the same issue
    https://forums.motorola.com/posts/94ac15ad7c
If you go to the Plantronics website and look at the "Ratings and Reviews" on the Voyager Legend you will see the same issue reported:
http://www.plantronics.com/us/product/voyager-legend (next paragraph is taken from the review since there is no direct link to the review.
Really nice Headset unless you own an Iphone 5. I own several Plantronics headsets and have always loved the quality/ performance. This headset seems not to be compatible with the new Iphone 5. In the middle of a conversation it will lose all incoming audio. This leaves you trying to switch audio sources really fast in order not to lose your phone call. Ive tried 3 legend headsets and they all do the same thing. Hopefully this gets fixed soon because the headset is really nice
Since this issue appears to affect multiple headsets from multiple vendors, I think it is fair to conclude that it is an issue with the iPhone5 bluetooth itself.
I am posting this as a new discussion as I don't see any other posts specific to this iPhone 5 Bluetooth issue.  I would have reported this as a problem to Apple, but don't seem to be able to find a way to do this on the web.  Hopefully they are already aware, but if not, maybe they will see i here.
If anyone else has experienced this issue, or has recommendations on how to prevent this from happening, I would appreciate your feedback / additions to this post.

I upgraded to an iPhone 5 last year, and since that time I have had the audio drop out problem at intermittent but bothersome rates. Interestingly, the audio drop occurs only with some Bluetooth headsets, and never with others. The headsets that have the problem are all over the head devices with strong noise suppression and very long battery life. The problem started with the Parrott XT250+, 20 hours talk time and fantastic noise suppression.
I then purchased the RK400 RoadKing, it has 30 hours talk time, and is a little lighter and less geeky looking.
Also superb, but it cuts out more often than the BlueParrot.
However, I have a Bose in ear Bluetooth which never loses audio.
These heavy duty Bluetooth headsets are popular with truckers. They indicate greater distance to/from the device, about double. 60 feet vs. 30 feet, as I recall.
There must be a Bluetooth standard they adhere to that causes the audio loss problem in the iPhone. Just clicking to iPhone and back to the bluetooth will clear it. I also sometimes have a funny noise that indicates the audio is out, but usually it's noticing the other person not speaking. It has caused some serious problems on important business calls. I bought these headsets, and the iPhone5, to handle these calls.
Apple's Genius bar folks do not appear to have heard of this problem. I was asked to demonstrate it, which i did, eventually I was given a brand new iPhone5 to address the problem. The results of that were interesting, the rate of drop about doubled on the new phone over the old.
I was told when the phone was replaced, and again when I went back, that I would probably have to erase everything on the iPhone, set it up as a new phone on iTunes on my computer, and reload whatever apps I wanted (Apple knows which you paid for). I went through this procedure. I didn't suspect it would work, but I tried it. It didn't work. And again, the frequency of the drop out varied. This leads me to believe it may be some odd memory or cache overload since different phone utilization of space seems to be an affecting variable.
That is, I had all but 8 gigs utilized on my 32 gig iPhone 5 when the problem began. When I had the phone replaced and backed up, I trimmed back some of the apps. When I wiped the phone's drive and reinstalled, I wouud up with more memory available, as I deleted 1000 photographs during the reinstall.
It's frustrating, but I have encountered such weird anomalies in the past. I am glad this forum exists to document the problem and hope Apple will notice, acquire a few of the problem headsets, and resolve the bug.

  • I am having issue with iphone 5 bluetooth , not able to connect honda CRV

I am having issue with iphone 5 bluetooth , not able to connect to my honda CRV

Don't know if you could consider this an Apple issue. I know you are probably frustrated, and I am not defending Apple here, just saying that the iPhone does not update to support individual automobiles, the automobile manufactures update to support the Bluetooth profiles. The iPhone has the latest Bluetooth stack and supports a number of things. Problems generally revolve around the manufacturer not supporting the lastest Bluetooth version and have to update their systems. Check with Honda, they are probably aware of this, and if you search the forum, you will find a number of posts regarding the CR-V.

For the same reason my car hasn't got in-dash satnav, leather upholstery or a six litre engine. Because that's how the manufacturer chose to make it. If you are unhappy with the specs, don't buy one.
There is no information regarding any new iPhone.

  • IPhone 4S Bluetooth reconnect issue

    Hi All,
I recently bought an iPhone 4S and am having problems with Bluetooth.
I have two devices that I used on my iPhone 3GS (TomTom Car Kit and Philips ActionFit Bluetooth Stereo Sports Headset,) with which they worked perfectly. Now that I am using my iPhone 4S, I am having a problem the second time I attempt to use them.
The first time time I connect either of the devices, they work perfectly with the iPhone 4S. However, the second time I attempt to use them they will not connect automatically. If I go into the iPhone 4S Bluetooth settings and attempt to connect them manually (by clicking on the device) the iPhone 4S says that it cannot find the device. To connect the device, I first have to forget the device then go through the pairing process all over again.
Has anyone had the same issue? Any thought on what might be the problem or how to resolve it?
This is the second iPhone 4S I have had. I returned the first one due to a multitude of problems including this same Bluetooth issue, so I am assuming the problem is not unique to my device.
    Thanks,
    Noilly

I have been having the same exact problem since I bought my phone a year ago.  I have tried 3 different devices with same result. Very frustrating!!  I have not found anything that helps.  Any information would be much appreciated.

  • Bluetooth issues w/ IPhone 6 & Chevy Traverse

I Had the iPhone 5 and my Bluetooth worked great in my Chevy traverse. Now that I have the iPhone 6 I am experiencing constant issues with the Bluetooth and traverse functions.  The phone number shown on incoming and outgoing calls does not match the actual number, the vehicle buttons don't answer incoming calls, the Bluetooth connection seems to drop after you make the 1st call once connected (2nd call made requires disconnect and reconnect to work).  Is any one else experiencing Bluetooth issues with their vehicle or with the Chevy traverse?  Anyone know how to fix these issues?
    thanks,
    Robert

    Hello Rjshimanek3,
I have an issue with bluetooth on iPhone 6 Plus not working properly with my car as well.  My iPhone 5 worked fine with the car.  My iPhone 5 used to have iOS 7.1 and it worked.  I upgraded my iPhone 5  to 8.0 (a few days before iPhone 6/6+ available in the store) and it also worked.  Now my iPhone 6 plus did not seem to work with my car BT properly.  If I play music, I can hear the sound through my speakers.  However, when I placed a phone call using BT in the car, it dialed out but as soon as the call is connected, the audio source (as seen from the iPhone 6 plus screen) switched from car BT to just "iPhone".    Most of the times now when I tried to connected my iPhone 6 Plus to the car BT, my car menu is frozen like the phone is dialing out, which it is not doing.  So I have to turn off BT of the iPhone 6 Plus in the car.
Here are a few things that I tried
    > I tried to delete the bluetooth device from my car and repaired it and it did not work
    > I tried to reset network settings from the iPhone 6 plus and repaired it with the car BT and it did not work
    > I tried to restart the iPhone 6 plus and repaid it with car BT and it did not work
    >  I upgraded iPhone 6 plus to latest iOS 8.0.2 and it did not work with my car BT
    > I tried my iPhone 6 plus on another car (same make though, different model) and similarly can't make phone call and car menu frozen with "dialing" on the screen.
I would like to try my car BT with another iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 + which I don't have so I can see if it's my particular iPhone 6 plus or the car.  At this point, I am thinking.
I'd like to hear if others are having issue with Bluetooth on iPhone 6/6+
    thanks

  • Bluetooth issues....with Iphone 4

I was with Tmobile for 9 years and less than 2 weeks ago I switched to AT&T. Great Iphone 4 we both got and a good plan.
The problem is the bluetooth being dropped all the time and muffled sound and or hearing every other word. This is a HUGE issue with me being in the medical field and using 5 to 6000 min/month all on bluetooth. Never had a problem with my 3G. After looking in the Apple site and finding this IS a issue ...I am open to any way to resolve this? I am very good with resolving issues, however, after two new Jawbones and reading the complaints...it is not me or the bluetooth.
People should be advised of this issue when purchasing.
Thank you for your time and pleae advise!
    Bult

Hi, I am an old ATT customer new to the Iphone 4 on 4.2.1. I LOVE THIS phone BUT....I am on my third one in less than three months because of this bluetooth issue. I have a BlueAnt Q2 (my fav), an old Motorola 720, a new Motorola HD 17, and none of them works right consistently with this phone. I reset, I pair and repair the bluetooth headset, I reset the network settings, I turn the phone and headset on and off, I restore the phone, and it still does work as good as my old LG Shine (the original version) or my old Samsung Propel Pro. This makes me very sad because I live on my bluetooth so that I can talk and use my hands at the same time. If Apple fixed this my life would be immeasurably better.

  • IPhone 5S Bluetooth call quality

Problem: Degraded iPhone sound quality over Bluetooth when making voice call, FaceTime video/audio calls and Siri requests.
I have been waiting for Apple to release a software update to fix this issue for some time. It appears to be a known issue however I have yet to see a response from Apple regarding the issue. Oddly, streaming music from my iPhone via Bluetooth delivers crystal clear sound. I suspect the iPhone uses a different Bluetooth profile for call streaming. Would someone be able to confirm this?
It is worth noting that I am having this issue with every one of my Bluetooth devices. I have a Bluetooth-enabled Sony HiFi, Sony Bluetooth earphones and a Pioneer car stereo system with Parrot Bluetooth.
Does anybody else have this issue? Would someone else with an iPhone 5S + Bluetooth devices be able to try and see if they share the exact same problem (that is degraded sound quality when making FaceTime video/audio calls and Siri requests over Blueooth)
    Thanks.

If your question is about your computer, you might be better off posting in the relevant Mac forum. This is the iPhone forum.
    Best of luck.

  • Bluetooth issue in ios 7.1

I am facing the Bluetooth issue in ios 7.1 iphone. In ios 7.0 it works fine without any problem.I am using the EA framework for reading/writing the data in my application.Still I have not got any correct solution for this scenario. I am having a doubt that this issue is happening as because of EA framework which I am using it or do i need to change any settings.Could someone tell me the solution for this problem?

1.I am using an external Bluetooth kit by which I will send the command through my iphone application.I will communicate with the external Kit through a command that writes and reads the data using External Accessory framework. In lower version except IOS 7.1 i was able to communicate properly without any issues. In EA framework implementing a delegate method I could able to write/read a data.
    2) Right now I am facing an issue only in ios 7.1 where I was not able to read any data from the external Bluetooth Kit.I have researched regarding this issue in all the sites I got to know some information that because of EA framework issue in ios 7.1 where I am able to communicate. But still I have a confusion that its happening because of EA framework or any other ios issues.

  • My iphone 5s Bluetooth no longer works in my 2014 honda accord, ever since i updated the software two months ago. Can anyone help?

My iphone 5s Bluetooth no longer works in my 2014 honda accord, ever since i updated the software two months ago. Can anyone help?

Problems with Bluetooth connections are generally traced back to the vehicle. If you search here in the forum you will find a number of posts with issues connecting with Honda vehicles. Try removing the phone from the vehicle's list of Bluetooth devices. Then try removing the vehicle from the iPhone's list of Bluetooth devices. Then place both devices back in discovery/pairing mode and try to connect them. You may need to take the device to the dealer to check for software updates.
Next, I understand it used to connect, however software updates for the iPhone will load the latest Bluetooth stack into the phone and vehicles do not always get updated as often. You can also check this support document for frequently asked questions and the other for additional troubleshooting instructions.   Wireless input devices: Bluetooth frequently asked questions  iOS: Third-party Bluetooth accessories

  • Macbook pro connects to iphone through bluetooth but can't access the internet

Hello, I have a macbook pro 10.6 and an iphone 3gs 4.3.3. I used to be able to connect the macbook to the iphone through bluetooth using personal hotspot and access the internet but one day it just stopped working. I have tried turning them off and on, disconnecting bluetooth etc but nothing has worked so far. I have tried connecting my iphone to my ipad2 through bluetooth, it works great. The iphone to the macbook through usb and it works great as well. I have tried connecting another iphone to my macbook through bluetooth and it doesn't work. The bluetooth on my macbook seems to be the problem
Well, to be more precise, the macbook sees the iphones, connects to them through bluetooth, the blue bar appears on the iphones screens but the computer wont access the internet.
    Any idea?
    Thank you very much.

    SUCCESS!!!!!
I visited my brother-in-law yesterday and attempted to connect with his secure network. By sheer luck, he is using the exact same model LinkSys router. My iPhone connected first time--so the iPhone was eliminated as a source of the problem.
I didn't do a lot of troubleshooting at his house, but I did notice that his network was set for both dynamic DHCP and dynamic DNS. I know that either or both of Windstream (my ISP) and my broadband modem requires a pair of static DNS addresses.
Sure enough, delving real deep into Windstream's support site, I discovered a LinkSys router DNS help page, specifying how to set static DNS addresses in LinkSys routers. I then accessed my router, enterd the known static addresses, saved the router settings, then rebooted the iPhone and connected to the network.
    SUCCESS!!!
Thanks to Jane, who suggested it was an ISP issue, Jason, and all at Apple support. dumonj, I'll email you directly. Try this suggestion and see if it helps.
