Iphone 6 compatibility

My 2013 RAV4 won't recognize my iPhone 6! Looking online I see much mention of a compatibility issue with iphone 6. What!!!???!!! Hoping this isn't the case. If so I would have never updated had I known. Please advise!! Thanks.

Unpair your device from your car. Then turn the Bluetooth off and then turn the device off and back on.
Then go through the pairing instructions for your vehicle. On setup it will search for your device. On mine it use to say uconnect phone when found. Now it says the name of my iPhone. Its not really that difficult to accomplish.
Then test it out.
Good Luck

  • Iphone 6 compatibility with belkin car charges and cables

    Hey
upon reading stories of certain car charges not working with the iphone 6 i want to find out if either of these 2 car charges and cables from belkin will charge my iphone 6.
In theory the 12v 2.4amp charger should charge my phone up faster than the rest however the iphone 6 is not listed in compatible devices, strangely neither is it listed on the 10w 2.1amp version of this product.
Am i missing some sort of trick here? the only thing i can think of is that the iphone 6 has a list of compatible devices or (certified) and will not allow connection with either of these belkin devices.
    here is the 12v 2.4 charger http://www.belkin.com/uk/F8J121-Belkin/p/P-F8J121/
    Here is the 10w 2.1amp charger http://www.belkin.com/uk/F8J078/p/P-F8J078/
What exactly is the problem with using either of these? isnt it the same lightening connection as the iphone 5?

Belkin probably just hasn't updated the page yet. Give them a call or contact their customer support. Note that the maximum current an iPhone will draw from a USB adapter is 1 amp (5 watts) whether the adapter can supply 1 amp, 2 amps, or 100 amps. So it won't charge any faster than a 1 amp adapter. An iPad can use up to 2.1 amps.

  • IPhone 3G Compatability with iHome devices

After downloading the newest update to the iPhone OS (4.1), my phone no longer charges from my iHome, which I use as an alarm clock. I can still play music from the device but I am not able to charge from this device. Does anyone have any idea if this is a setting that can be changed on the iPhone or if this is just an update error and when I might be able to expect a fix?

there have been several reports about version 4.1 of the software not being compatible with iHome devices. Probably going to have to wait for an update and hope Apple fixes it.

  • TS1363 Iphone 5 Compatibility problems with new Itunes.

You can access your Iphone on the initial connection.  However, once you switch to Itunes the phone become inaccessible.  When the diagnostic was run it said the Iphone was not connected.  The tutorial pocrtion was easy enough, and the sytem explains each icon.  The only major glitch is the Iphone connection.  Not Good!

This fixed both my yahoo.com and rocketmail accounts (both are yahoo based).  I had to delete and set up the accounts as imap.  I found this on a yahoo board:
I just tried this and it worked for me:
Close the mail app on the iphone and go to a computer, sign in to your yahoo mailaccount and do the verification that it pops up. If there is no such thing that pops up then go back to your iphone and do the following:
1.) Delete the yahoo mail account on your iphone.
2.) Add mail account using "other" instead of "Yahoo!" and setup as IMAP account.
    3.) Use the following information:
    - username MUST include @yahoo.com at the end
    - incoming server = imap.mail.yahoo.com
    - outgoing server = smtp.mail.yahoo.com
    - always retype your password

  • 2008 BMW 535i and iphone 4 compatibility?

Recently acquired a 2008 BMW 535i with iDrive.  I can pair my iphone 4 to the bluetooth, but it seems to have limited functionality.  Anyone know if the iphone 4 is fully compatible with 2008 BMW?

I have a 2007 Explorer and have a male male adaptor that I can plug into my aux line. It works great. I play the ipod feature through my stereo system. I can also answer my phone and talk through the stereo system. I do not have a problem hearing, but the person on the other end often complains of an echo.

  • HT204387 Is the Iphone bluetooth compatable with NOOK readers?

Can an Iphone 3GS connect thru bluehtooth to a NOOK?

Correct, which is why I said no. The iPhone (and the Nook) only supports a limited set of Bluetooth profiles and File Transfer Protocol is not one of them. So unless you are trying to use you Nook as stereo speakers (don't try, Nook does not support stereo BT, A2DP) nothing else will work.

  • Iphone international compatibility

I bought my Iphone3G in Japan but now i am moving to Germany. Will my phone work there (with a new SIM and local plan of course)?

I don't believe the iPhone is sold as officially unlocked in Japan.
If not, you will need to contact the carrier for your iPhone in Japan to see if the they will unlock your iPhone. If not, it will be better to sell your iPhone to someone else in Japan and use the proceeds to purchase another iPhone in Germany. I believe the iPhone is sold as carrier locked with T-Mobile in Germany.

  • 2008 Mercedes Benz CL550 & iPhone 5 Compatibility

I have an iPhone 5 and use Spotify often... Does anyone know how the '08 CL550 interfaces? Would be curious to know what I can and cannot do, and what equipment I should look at buying.
    Bluetooth work?
    USB/hardwire work?
    Spotify work?
Can you control using OEM MB stuff (i.e. steering wheel controls)?
    Do song names appear?
    Thanks guys.

You need to make sure the vehicle supports the correct Bluetooth profile for streaming music. Check this support document http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3647 for iPhone information. Check the owner's manual for the vehicle and/or go to the MB website and see if the particular radio device supports this.

  • IPhone 5 Car compatability

I'm starting this thread as an information outlet to all those iPhone 5 users that want to see what works and doesn't work when it comes to the new iPhone 5 and device compatability. What does and doesn't need the adapter.
My question I want to pose is that do you think that an iPhone will work through the USB/lightning with a non factory, in dash JVC KW HDR81BT stereo system in a car?
Feel free to share and ask others about similar inquiries.

I have the iPhone 5 and the JVC KW-AV70BT.
I have no functionality when attempting to use USB related functions with the iPhone 5 that previously were working with the iPhone 4S.
I searched for a software update from JVC but I was unable to locate anything.
I also searched for any statements regarding functionality with iPhone 5 and the only mention from JVC about the iPhone 5 that I could find is the link posted below.  I'm not sure of it's authenticity as I was unable to find the same press release on JVC's own website or anywhere else.
    http://www.twice.com/articletype/news/jvc-outlines-iphone-5-compatibility-curren t-head-units/103529
"The head units also continue to control the portable devices’ song selection and display their album art, said marketing GM Chad Vogelsong."
"App Mode continues to work as usual in current head units with that feature, enabling the head units to control select iPhone 5 music-streaming apps, play back their music, and display album art, Vogelsong said."
In my case, the two quotes above are untrue based on my own testing with the iPhone 5 and the JVC KW-AV70BT.  When attempting to use the USB related functions (iPod mode, Pandora mode, App mode) the display on the JVC KW-AV70BT just displays "Reading Now..." and stays that way until I select another mode.
"Current head units with stereo Bluetooth also maintain Bluetooth functionality when used with the iPhone 5, he added."
Thankfully, this statement is true.  The Bluetooth functions are working just as they did with my iPhone 4S.
I hope the USB functionality can be restored through a software update to the JVC unit.
In the event it cannot be fixed, it may be a good excuse to pursue another option I have been entertaining.  The idea I have is to remove the radio entirely and replace it with an LTE iPad mini.  I believe the iPad mini will fit nicely in the radio opening of my Honda Ridgeline.  I will need to fabricate a trim bezel and a way of securely docking the iPad mini so it doesn't move while driving.

  • Iphone video file compatibility checker?

I have a bunch of video files in mp4 and m4v in a folder. Some copy to my iphone when added to my itunes library, others don't with the error FILE CAN NOT BE PLAYED ON THIS IPHONE. Usually the format for non compatible iphone video files was created for appletv device , but its hard to tell which files will play on the iphone, quick and easily. I was wondering if there was a simple iphone video compatibility checker. Like looking at video files listed in a folder directory, where it displays whether or not a video file is iphone compatible?
If no such file checker exists, it sure would be nice to have such a file checker to look at a batch or folder of files at one time, and easily check iphone compatibility. (hint hint programmers)

It appears to me that the only reason cpu speed, would impact play back is that iTunes has designed this effect into the files.
No, they didn't, at least not as part of some sort of deliberate effort to get you to upgrade. Videos and movies from the iTunes Store are encoded with the new H.264 codec. This codec can yield much better quality at a lower file size than can other video codecs such as the most common MPEG-2, but decoding H.264 takes more processing power. Hence the minimum CPU requirement; it just takes that fast a system to decode the content smoothly. In some cases with a system with close specs, you may be able to get adequate playback if all other applications and processes are shut down (as with iTunes vs. QuickTime; iTunes takes up a bit more of the processor for it's other functions), but it's always going to be iffy if you're right at the edge of the system requirements.
You're going to see this sort of thing on any computer system; better quality video requires higher-power systems, no matter what platform you're running on (Windows Media Player recommends 1.5Ghz).

  • IPhone 6 won't play with Kenwood stereo USB port. Help !!

I have a Kenwood KDC-BT743U Stereo in my car, which has a front panel USB port.  I've been able to connect my iPhone 4S and play music from my iTunes catalog as well as stream music from Pandora, Soundcloud, Tune In Radio, Mixcloud et al, without any problems until yesterday.....
Now that I've upgraded my phone to a iPhone 6 and when I connect it to the stereo via the USB port, it doesnt play at all.  After about 2 minutes of trying to connect , I recieve a 'USB Error" .   As I stated, I've had no problems with my iPhone 4S, which I've used with this same stereo deck for the last two years without any problem what so ever.
I'm looking for some guidance on next steps to take in order to fix the problem? Did Apple change the spec in some sort of way?  Do I need to go to Kenwood for a firmware update (their website provides no information about iPhone 6 compatability with any of their stereo's which is very odd to me) ?
Please help, my life in the car during long commutes is just not the same......

    Possible Solution:
    1. Go to Settings > General
    2. Go to Restrictions
    3. Enter Passcode (possibly x2)
    4. Enable Restrictions
    5 Disallow CarPlay
    6. Reset Network Settings (Not 100% sure if this step is needed)
    7. Have at least 1 song in Apple Music App
    8. Have Iphone at Home Screen
    9. Connect Apple Original Cable
    10. That 1 Song should start playing
    11. Open Prefered Streaming App and hit Play
Carplay negatively affects USB connection with Non-Carplay USB Audio Receivers.
I have the Iphone 6 with 8.3 iOS connected to Pioneer avh-41000dvd car stereo and the above solution fixed USB audio issues, including Error code 22-65.
If you are having issues upon reconnect, disconnect and bring Iphone to home screen and reconnect.
