IPhone 6 gets hot

My iPhone 6 gets hot while in use - I can be playing a game or just on other apps. It varies from time to time whether it gets hot. I keep my brightness level up all the way during the day and lower it at nightime. Last night, I adjusted the level down all the way and played a music playlist on YouTube. I woke up a couple of hours later and it was very hot to touch. My brightness auto adjust is set to OFF.
Another issue I'm having is while using my iphone, is that the brightness level flickers and dims slightly on its own. As stated, my auto adjust brightness is set to off. I am running the current software. Anyone else experiencing any these issues?

Try resetting your phone. Press and hold down both the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons for 10 seconds or so until the Apple logo appears then let go. You won't lose any data.

If none of the above help then the next step would be to Restore. Use iTunes to restore your iOS device to factory settings This will erase everything on your phone so back up your data first.

Charging has always been recommended without an iOS device in a case...many of those do not allow heat to dissipate.
Turn down screen brightness, turn off things you don't need, like Bluetooth if not being used, change the Mail push timing so it is less frequent...all things that use energy should be stretched out to save battery time.

IPhone Gets Hot While Recording HD Video?

Anyone else experienced this? I started checking out the video recording features and after 1 or 2 minutes recording the phone started getting hot on one of the sides.
It wasn't anything alarmingly hot but i wanted to know if it's just my iphone or if it's normal for the iPhone 4 to get warm when recording HD video.

My second replacement phone (which I believe was a refurb) experienced major overheating. I had the phone a few hours. I recorded 2 videos about 30 seconds each, I played Real Racing game about 10 minutes and took a call about 1 minute long. Put the phone in my holster and felt a burning in my side. Pulled the phone out and it was extremely hot. I touched a few people with it and they were shocked how hot it was. I called Apple and told them what happened. They told me this was a very serious issue. They asked me a few weird questions. The next day a brand new phone was delivered. Keep your eye on this. If it happens again and gets really hot then call Apple.

My iPhone4 is perfectly normal while using wi-fi internet connection, but it gets extremely hot while using the 3G internet services. Can anyone help me out?

It is normal for the phone to get hot when your using data such as YouTube videos, streaming music etc.. And as for the left speaker not working, the left speaker is a microphone, the right one is for sound. Don't worry, everything your iPhone is doing is normal.

It's normal. The iphone 4s and ipad 3 both have fast CPUs that does tend to get hot. Just the battery alone will actually make the phone hot too, since battery usage makes the battery warm and thus the phone warm. (this is why people sometimes wrongly think that their ears get hot due to dangerous waves from the phone, when it's actually heat from the battery.)
So, nothing to worry about.

IPhone gets hot on long-ish calls

Talked to my sister yesterday - about an hour - using the iPhone. Call quality fine, but the back of the device got seriously warm, not burn warm, but definitely uncomfortable warm. A) has anyone else run into this? B)this makes me a little wary of buying a cover, as I don't want to overheat it.

The phone also gets hot while surfing the web and while charging too.
I bought one of the silicone back covers for the phone and made the mistake of leaving it on while using the phone for calls, surfing the web, viewing images, listening to songs and charging the phone the whole first day I got it. My iPhone worked fine at first, then all sorts of weirdness broke out.
Now calls almost never have sound coming from the earpiece, WiFi is unreliable, enabling bluetooth freezes the phone in its tracks, screen re-draws and menu navigation freeze when entering or exiting Settings.
We live and learn.
I took the silicone cover out to the workshop and drilled 87 holes in a grid pattern across the whole bottom of it. Hopefully this will help dissipate some of the heat. I'll use the cover if I'm going somewhere, but not if I'm using the phone or it is charging. A phone repair is in the works.

Since the 2.0 update my iphone gets pretty hot after 5 to minutes 10 of calling and also when i for example play a game from the app store it gets hot and a brighter spot appears on the screen
Is this a known problem? and can this be solved?

but the thing is i want iphone 1 and not the 3G. I bought mine in Germany when it was officially unlocked so my guess is when i send it to Apple the will replace it with a 3G phone and that would suck!

Iphone getting hot,temperature hot..to the touch

Recently I had my iphone getting really hot... and it reminded me of the dell lap tops which had the batteries getting hot and at times burning right in front of your eyes ..I wonder if Apple is waiting for the first Iphone to explode becouse of the heat which I think is caused by a cheap battery very much like Dells batteries.... is Apple going to recall these Iphones...anybody?.

Iphone getting hot got replacement and this one is doing the same thing

After having it since November 2011 my iphone 3GS started getting hot to the touch last week and would not come on in any way. I went in and it was under warranty so they gave me a replacement and now this one is doing the same thing. UGH! Why?

Yahoo services have been having problems today, so I don't doubt that mail is one of them. They are having trouble updating the Weather app as well.
What is wrong with your voicemail. Remember that voicemail is a carrier function. The only thing Apple has to do with it is how it is retrieved. Can you describe your problem a little more clearly than "totally screwed up"?

Iphone get hot when on charge but wont charge or connect to itunes??

For the last few days my iphone has been playing up. First of all the screen went funny. I had a bright white screen to start with, then it changed to the apple symbol stuck on the screen for awhile, the screen wouldnt turn off and felt very hot. I tried doing the reset (home + on button) quite alot but it just flashes off then back to the apple symbol, Iv plugged it in to the charger and to the laptop but no joy. The battery finaly went flat so all that comes up on the screen now is the empty red battery symbol, when I plug it in to charge the red battery symbol stays on the screen but doesnt charge and gets very hot!!! Its a 3gs what can I do?? Any ideas??

I have the same trouble. After reading many internet sites around this subject I found the following solution.
Although apple explained that it is not necessary with the lightning connector to use it in a special direction this seems not to be true.
I have just turned my connector by 180° and it is working again.
Hopefully this direction does not fail too. There are only 2 possibilities

IPhone getting hot

Today I used my iPhone as a GPS device, while having it plugged into a car charger. I noticed that it got very got, particularly at the back.
This is the first time I've used the car charger, and the first time I've used the GPS app. It's also the first time the phone has got hot. Is it a fault with the phone? I have had it for just over three months and not had any problems with it so far, but this has worried me a bit.

I'd suggest not leaving your iPhone plug into the car charger for the entire journey if possible? I sometimes leave my iPhone 4 to charge over night, which sometimes causes the phone to feel rather hot the next day. I'd imagine this isn't really good for the battery inside the phone, which causes it to overheat; as this is constantly powering the phone for along period of time.
If your phone feels like it gets rather hot after 30 minutes on charge or so, i'd consider going into Apple to talk about this issue. Personally i wouldn't worry to much for now. Hope this helps...

Iphone getting hot while sleeping.

i put my iphone to sleep and left it for a few hours. when i went to use it it was extremely hot but it was asleep the whole time. wifi is off on the phone. has anybody experienced this at all.

I noted the iPhone got extremely hot while charging attached to my Mac this afternoon, yet when I switched to wall outlet charging it immediately got cooler. Yet the phone was not even in use during this period. I tried to isolate the problem by removing it from the Speck ToughSkin, thinking perhaps the rubber cover was the cause. But it got quite hot again later while using WiFi and then suddenly taking a call and receiving two text messages. Yet five minutes later, it was no longer hot. Very peculiar. Other user experiences like this out there?
