IPhone 6 hairline crack

my iphone6 fell and now has a hairline crack. it is still under the 90day warranty. Will I get it replaced?

Yes, you can have it replaced.  If it's determined to be a manufacturing problem, it will be free.  It it's determined that it was caused by accidental damage, it won't be free.

  • IPhone 3G hairline crack.

I bought my iPhone 3G on ebay from America and I've been using it here in London for some time now and I haven't had any problems with it, a few hours ago I noticed a hairline crack at the back of the phone, the warranty on the receipt says it's covered until june 09, I was wondering what I should do. Should I get in touch with an Apple Retail Store? Should I contact Apple, would they replace the cover/handset?

They normally would inspect the iPhone and if they determine it is a manufacturing defect they will replace it with one from their repair stock. If it looks like the crack came from accidental damage to the iPhone they would hand it back to you.
But since your iPhone is an unlocked phone from the USA that is supposed to on the AT&T network and has been unlocked in violation of the warranty you would first have to restore it to a locked on AT&T condition (otherwise the warranty is void), and then they will tell you that you need to take it to an Apple Store or AT&T corporate store in the United States to get it serviced.
If you are not having trouble with the iPhone you might want to just ignore it.

  • Iphone 5c hairline crack visible only when looked carefully

I have an iphone 5c, a month old. Today i looked carefully at the top left corner and I see a small crack, its not a glass crack but like a hairline thick thing inside the glass. There was no impact/pressure on the screen whatsoever, there are no scratches above. Pls help

Take it in to the Apple store for evaluation. Whether they replace it is a toss-up as accidental damage is not covered by the warranty. Explain your situation, they might be willing to be felxible.
Before you go to the store, backup your phone using iTunes on your computer. If you get a new phone you can synch your information form your old phone using iTunes.

  • IPhone 3GS hairline crack - out of warranty

    Hi,
My iPhone 3GS bought January 2010 has developed a couple of cracks, heading upwards from the dock connector. First noticed them around six months ago, whilst the iPhone was still under warranty but didn't follow it up as they were tiny (and seemingly not getting any bigger).
I've done a few searches on the web and read that this may be considered a manufacturing defect and would be replaced with warranty or not (providing no water/trauma damage). Any truth to this?
    Thanks

One way to find out--go to an Apple Store and see if they'll replace it.

  • Hairline crack on iPhone 6

    Hi,
I've bought new iphone 6 10 days ago. 3 days after I bought it, I've got hairline crack, on the bottom right side of the screen.
Have anyone else have such thing? Is it covered by warranty?
    Thanks

I'm sure other people have accidentally and unintentionally damaged their iPhones within 3 days of purchase.
No, that is not covered under the warranty.  That's damage.  If you had purchased the AppleCare+ program for $99 USD + tax, you'd have two years of normal hardware coverage and have two damage incidents, each for $79 USD + tax.
Now, your cost will be $299 USD + tax, unless it's just the screen that needs to be replaced, in which case it should be $109 USD + tax, I believe.

  • Do I have to pay to get my iPhone 6 screen repaired at the Apple Store if it is a hairline crack?z

I just finishef talking to apple support and I was telling them I have a hairline crack and if it would be covered under my warranty if I got it fixed at the Apple Store but they told me it wouldnt be under warranty it'll be a accidental cost and I would have to pay averagely $109 and I've been reading discussion boards saying you don't have to pay for hairline cracks. So I was wondering if someone can ensure me if i would have to pay for the crack? Thank you

Read your warranty and don't always believe everything you see here. The truth is what the manager tells you. Unless the crack was a manufacturing defect you discovered when you purchased the phone, then the presumption is it was caused by the user.

  • Hairline Crack in Screen

Hey, My iphone has a hairline crack for some unknown reason. It has never been dropped and its located directly above the home button. It points directly to the sim card slot so its straight line. Its small and sorta noticeable. May i get a replacement from apple? My iphone is about one month old.

AT&T doesn't provide iPhone warranty service in the USA - only Apple. You need to make an appointment with an Apple Store Genius Bar (don't walk in without an appt.).

  • International warranty: face glass with hairline crack across the face: My local icenter says that if the hairline crack was from top to bottom then it would be covered by the warranty

    Hi
I have been to my local icenter in Malta because of a hairline crack across the face of my newly purchased iphone 5c. They say that it will only fall under the warranty if the crack was from top to bottom and not across. Is this correct?
    Thank you

Did you contact your carrier about that? Your carrier will service the phone for you in Malta, and they can probably tell you more about that problem.

  • IPhone LCD hairline mark please help!!!

    Alright,
Right now I am sick to my stomach. I turn on my iphone to check a phone number and there is a hairline crack across the LCD of the phone.
Its not the glass the glass is perfect and I searched online and only found things about the glass being cracked not the LCD itself.
It kill me.....I have never dropped my phone had a case on the phone from day 1. Have taken amazing care of the phone for the 2 months I have had it. Never been dropped. The phone does not have even one mark on it its perfect.
Now on Monday I am going to bring it to the apple store but I am sure they have heard a million times from people that the screen just broke so they will think I am lying to them. The problem is in my case that is true! The phone is in pristine condition always had a case on it NOT 1 MARK on the phone at all, just this huge crack on the screen and I'm freaking out.
The thing is I would not be this upset if I dropped it because then it would be my fault but I didnt do anything and I feel that wont believe me.
Anyone have any input, Do you think they will believe me because the other parts on the phone doesn't have a mark? Have any advice what I should tell the store
PLEASE!!! It kills me because this really was not my fault!

Like previous posters said, an Apple Genius will have no problem determining whether your iPhone was truly pampered before this incident. It's pretty obvious if the outside of your iPhone is in impeccable condition that this is a manufacturing defect.
Hopefully you haven't even exposed your iPhone to heavy moisture, causing the water indicators to go off. My girlfriend had her iPhone in the bathroom when she took a shower, and set off the sensors; they're pretty sensitive.
Schedule an appointment with the Apple Store, and let us know how it went.
    Good luck.

  • Hairline Crack Illusion from Screen Protector?

    Hi,
I just got me new Iphone 5s from the verizon store . Long story short, they talked me into the case and screen protector which they installed. The screen protector is apparently tampered glass. I noticed there are two very small "specs" on the screen which you can only seen either with the back light on or shinning a light onto the screen. They look like very small horizontal hair line cracks at first glance.
At first, I thought some dust must of just got in between the screen protector and the phone's screen.I went back to the Verizon store to request them to put a new protector on without these two noticeable lines. The manager looked at the phone and said that it was a"optical illusion" from the way the glass from the protector is aligned with the iPhone screen. He then went on to say because it is not a defect, there was no warrant to replace the screen protector.
    So.
    1. Is the manager just giving me the ring around about this and just doesn't want to replace the screen protector or worse the phone if there is indeed a hairline crack with it. I could not find any information on this.
    2. I paid full retail price for the phone to keep unlimited data. Do you think Verizon should attempt to get rid of those lines? It kind of makes me upset that they tell me this after the fact they sell me the screen protector know all along that there is a chance of visual defect and not disclosing that.
    Thank You,
    Sam

I didn't mean to imply you hadn't been polite. My apologies. I just know that, sometimes, when people get frustrated with customer service that is less than they would like, especially with an expensive purchase, they can lose their cool. And I know, after 20 years in retail, that I will do anything I can to help a customer with a problem who still treats me with respect.
I haven't seen that problem with the tempered glass screen protectors. Doesn't mean it can't be the case. I think a flaw in the screen protector or an issue with it is much more likely than cracks on the phone screen itself, though.
    Best of luck.

  • HAIRLINE CRACK ON IPHONE5

Hi, five days back my iphone5 slipped from my pocket as i fell down on the ground, it has got a single hairline crack on the screen . Since my phone is under warranty will it be replaced without any repair cost?

  • Hairline Crack???

I just noticed that there is a small hairline crack approx. 1/4 inch long right above the charging port on the back side of black plastic. I got the phone in August and was wondering if this is covered in the Apple Care, or under warranty. I keep my phone in a case at all time but noticed it when I was cleaning it. Is this a problem??? If so , what is the fix??? Thanks!!!

    theboyzdad,
As long as your iPhone is still covered within your limited warranty or under an AppleCare Protection Plan, a repair for this should be covered.

  • My phone is getting a hairline crack,  what can be done?

Hello, My iphone 3g (I bought it the day it came out) has a hairline crack on the bottom where the connector goes, it has never been dropped or mishandled! If I leave it I think it will extend up the back of my phone. I was talking to a friend who had theirs replaced for free at a apple store because of this. But I want to know if that is true, is it covered under warranty? The closest Apple Store is 2 hours away, so I would like to know before I drive there. Could I also go to a Rogers store(in Canada)? I use my phone for business so I can not go without it to send it away.
Thanks for any help you can give
    Mike

Many people have reported getting their iPhone replaced at the Apple store due to cracks. Search this forum and you'll find many threads discussing this. When you bring it in, Apple will look at it and if they determine it has not been abused, they'll probably replace it on the spot. That being said, there's no guarantee.
Calling them won't help, they'll just say bring or send it so they can look at it.
If you do go in, sync/backup your phone and make an appointment at the Genius bar before going in. http://www.apple.com/retail/geniusbar/

  • Screen making noises and hairline crack... Help?!

I have an iPhone 6... On Monday when I touched my screen, I noticed that it was making noise when I pushed down on it on the left side of the screen. I immediately booked an appointment for this Saturday to get to a genius bar to get the phone looked at. I had this issue before with an iPhone 5S and the phone got replaced because I was told that they could not replace the screen as it would damage the finger print sensor. However today my phone has suddenly developed a hairline crack at the top of the screen over the front camera. I haven't dropped it or smashed it against anything. I have a screen protector on the phone and a case which confused me a little. I have my appointment with Apple tomorrow and I'm wondering what will happen. I'm more worried about the crack if anything! There is no other damage on the phone as I've had a screen protector and case on it from day one. Also the phone is still functioning as it always has. Any ideas anyone?

Since you've confirmed the device has physical damage, and since physical damage is not covered under the Apple hardware warranty, be prepared to pay either a $109 USD + tax fee to replace the screen or a $299 USD + tax out-of-warranty fee for whole unit replacement, depending on the results of Apple's inspection and the decision made by the Apple Store.  You may get free service, but set your expectations to pay because of the physical damage, so that if you are given a better option, it is a pleasant surprise.
By the book, a damaged device, regardless of how it is damaged, involves some form of out-of-warranty cost, unless you have AppleCare Plus.  In that case, you usually pay a deductible of $79 USD + tax.
