IPhone 6 location services/gps not working

Anyone else have an issue with iPhone 6 location services/gps not working? I have had it happen to me twice where it stopped working for good 7 or 8 hours and then all of sudden it starts working again. For example, directions don't work, every time I open Apple Maps it will say "Cannot determine location", then when I press the location icon on the bottom left, it will try to search again and have an approximate location but not exact, where as the iPad that I have right next to it is able to pin point the exact location. Sometimes the location circle is pulsing blue sometimes its gray. If I am driving and have tracking on it won't track, and so on.  I have tried to setup the phone as new without restoring the backup, when it stopped working with no luck, it still didn't work. I went and restore it back from backup and few hours later it started to work again. This has happened twice now since I got the phone last Friday.

Check your "Privacy" settings on your iPhone see what apps are using your location.

    Greetings Biyase,
Thanks for contributing to the Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like the Outlook app is not launching after you updated iOS. In this case, I recommend the troubleshooting steps found at this link:

  • TS3274 Location service  is not working on iPad retina

Location service is not working I tried everything
Is it hardware of software problem

Your Wi-Fi only iPad do not have GPS.
It gets it position from Apple's router data base. Your location may not be in the data base.

  • Since updating the recent OS on my iPad my location services do not work.  Maps "Cannot determine location"  and "Find Me" is running in circles.  How can I delete the update on my iPad???

Since updating the recent OS on my iPad my location services do not work.  Maps "Cannot determine location"  and "Find Me" is running in circles.  How can I delete the update on my iPad???

You can't delete the update and your problem probably is not in the Update.
Check to see if Location Services is turned ON. (Settings > Privacy > Location Services)
What model iPad Mini do you have? WiFi or WiFi + Cellular
Have you recently changed WiFi routers?

  • Bought a new router location services will not work hooked up old router location services came right back on

bought a new linksys router location services will not work on i-pad hooked old router back up and it started working again linksys was no help

WiFi iPads determine location through a database of router locations. Your new one is not in the database, give it some time and it will be added.

  • My iPad Air has the latest software update, since that the location services are not working! What to do? Even my friend's iPod has the same problem. Our version is iOS 7.1.2. I think that the services have stopped working since iOS 7.0.4.

My iPad Air has the latest software version(iOS 7.1.2) update, since that update the location services have stopped working. have a solution?

I have had the same problem, so many apps do not work properly without it! Apple says the internet satellite, the Internet satellite says Apple, back and forth with the blame instead of fixing the problem. Have turned location on and off, reset everything multiple times ( lots of hours and bandwidth to download ), Siri is now working part time, I guess she has cut back her hours for the summer. Even in these forums was suggested to check with Skyhook who does the global positioning, and after hours with them, they ended up saying that they have nothing to do with it anymore, Apple does. All to no avail and much frustration! I wonder if this is happening with the iPhone's? i'd like to know if this is happening with others that do not use satellite as their ISP? That would help narrow down the argument with Apple vs. satellite. Fell for you! Someone please help us! Ta

  • Location services do not work when my MBP or iPad are in the basement

I thought location services work based on wifi, yet my MBP when in the basement even though it is on wifi location services won't work. The same with my iPad wifi, in the basement the location services are unavailable. The iPhone, however location services work fine deep in the basement. I am trying to understand this, could anyone explain. This wasn't a problem with OS Mavericks that I remember.

Location services works based on there being a known WiFi access point in the Apple Access Point database.
While not in the basement, you are likely seeing neighboring WiFi access points which are geo-located as opposed to yours which apparently is not.
I have heard that the database gets populated by iPhone and cellular iPads being located by cellular, then associating that location with WiFi access points visible to the iDevice.
I also believe they used the SkyHook Wireless database at one time, and may still do so. http://www.skyhookwireless.com/submit-access-point
You can submit your WiFi Access Point and geo-location which may or may not help.

  • Location Service do not work Period. I own 6 iPhones.

I have 6, 3G iPhones... All worked great with positioning on google maps, or in apps that used core location.
My primary iPhone no longer will find my location on google maps. *The blue circle button spins, and spins, and will continue to spin for 6 hours (left it on over night, with the phone plugged in and sleep turned off)*
It no longer asks my permission to use my location.
No application can find my location.
I've tried turning off 3G, WIFI, EDGE, switching between all the modes.
I've tried complete restore, without restoring backup (making it a new phone)
All 5 of my other phones sitting on the table next to it find my location in under 2 seconds.
What on earth has possessed my phone? It has to be hardware software/combo, but they are all the EXACT same configuration!
Please help, I'm so tired of the applestore employees telling me "I don't know"

Which certificate ? I have tried the following:
    - Trans. STRUSTSSO2, selected 'SSL standar Server' and exported the certificate in binay format. No problem importing it into Windows Mobile 6.1, I can see that is a valid certificate ( not trusted ) but Internet Explorer does not recognize it.
    - Open a bsp application through https in a Desktop PC browser, IE 8 for example. Export the certificate from de browser ( default values, .cer file ). Also importing the certificate into Windows Mobile 6.1 works fine but again Internet Explorer does not use it.
I think that this is a configuration problem in Windows Mobile. Any help here ?
    Regards,
    Joan

  • HT4995 The location services is not working on my iPad2 3G-wifi .

  • My location services are not working in my ipad 3.  ...... What shall I do?? Any suggestions???

Whenever I try to see my location,,,,, I can't why??

First, verify that location services are on and that the app you are using has been granted privledges to use it. Look in Settings > Privacy > Location Services.
Alos, if you have WiFi-only iPad, it does not contain a built-in GPS chip - only the 3G models do. Apple relies on a database of WiFi hot spot locations and it could be that your hotspot and those around you have never made it into that database.
What have you done to troubleshoot already? What were the results?
Have you read this support article about Location Services?

  • My location service is not working from the day one the response is that (cannot able to determine the location) .What can i need to do to see my location in maps and other application even the location services is enabled in the settings?

From the day one the response is that (cannot able to determine the location) while using ios5.1 .What can i need to do to see my location in maps and other application even the location services is enabled in the settings?.Which means that is there is any problem in my ipad ? currently running on IOS 6.

Your location is determined from a location database which contains the MAC addresses of routers and their physical location. A MAC address is a unique number which is built-in to all network devices when manufactured. The database is built and updated by actually driving around and mapping router locations.
Since you just moved the location of your router has not been updated in the database and when you use Maps you will see your old location.
If you go outside your house you can be correctly located because your iPod sees other routers which are in the location database. Note that you do not need to be connected to a router for your iPod to see it and obtain its MAC address.

  • My location service is not working correctly

We moved in the last couple weeks (an hour and a half away).  When I am at my new house, I cannot get my current location.  When I go to the Maps app and do current location, it says I am at our old house.  The odd thing is, when I go away from our new house, not even connected to a wifi network, it will be able to locate me.  I've tried inside and outside... it doesn't make a difference.  With these circumstances, I figured it HAD to be something with our wireless router... since that seems to be the only connection to our old house.  I tried hard resetting the router, and resetting all of the different settings on it... but when I reconnected my iPod to the network, it still said I was at our old house.
    Any help?
    Thanks
    Nate

  • My ipad3 wifi location service is not working correctly. Please help me!

I tried to locate my iPad and is showing another part of the world. But frm my iPhone 4 the location shown is correct. When I tried to set time and region it shows the same other part of the world. It's frustrating, I have tried and tried But without any progress. Can any one help me here!!!

Your iPhone has GPS whereas your WiFi-only iPad has to be located based on where Apple's database thinks the WiFi router is located. It would see that location is incorrect, and if so there's nothing you can do about it. The location may be more accurate if you connect to another WiFi access point.
As to the time and date, have you confirmed that the time zone is set correctly in Date and Time settings? If it's incorrect, turn off the "set automatically", select the correct time zone, and you should then be able to turn the "set automatically" back on.
    Regards.

  • Location services don't work even though they are on

My location services do not work even though they are switched on. When I ask Siri something that requires my location it tells me to turn on location services and Siri but they are already on.

For location the iPod uses the location nearby wifi routers that are in Apple's data base. You do not have to be connect to the router.
Thus, it appears that the router the iPod is using does not have the correct location in Apple's database. Apple continuously updates their database based on data it obtains from iPhones. No one has found a way to tell apple to correct/add a wifi router to their database.
To test this, go to another location/another network like Starbucks and see if location work there
