IPhone 6 Missing Photos

Hello everybody,
I recently bought the new iPhone 6. (running iOS 8.0.2)
I'm pretty sure it's just a bug, but I'm surprised that I couldn't find any discussions related to this one.
My problem is when I take a photo using the volume rocker (note: I hold it for a second or two and the burst mode indicator shows 001right on top of the shutter button) the photo is captured and put into the little shortcut that leads you to your photos. (top right corner of the screenshot)
yet when I tap on the photo that has been taken and then on "all photos" which takes me into the photos app it doesn't show the picture. The picture is no where to be found the iPhone.
The one photo that appears is the screenshot (the first photo)
I have found a partial work-around. I went into 'Image Capture' on my Mac and found the missing photo. There I was able to delete it.
I just wanted to know if anybody else has this problem, if I'm doing something wrong,or if the photo is actually tucked away somewhere else. If this is actually a bug can this be reported to able to fixed? I heard that iOS 8.1 is going to be released on Monday... will it be fixed by then?
Thank you

Dunno about the photo not appearing in photos/collections.
Try a reset of iPhone.
Quit all open apps.
Double tap Home & swipe up on all apps.
Then reset iPhone.
Press & hold both Home & Power until you see Apple logo.

You should regularly sync you photos back to you computer.

  • IPhone missing photos in PhotoStream?

Why would my PhotoStream photos on my iPhone differ from my Cloud photos on my MacBook Pro and iPad Mini? I seem to not have every photo in the cloud available on the PhotoStream on my iPhone, but everything is available on my MacBook Pro and iPad Mini. I'm running the 10.9.5 OS on Macbook Pro and iOS8.1.2 on iPhone and iPad Mini and pay .99 for the extra space in my cloud.

    Hi sraghura,
    Two things you can try:
    1.     Reset your device (no data will be lost): Press and hold down the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons at the same time and continue to hold them until the Silver Apple appears. Once the Home screen displays again, see if the issue is fixed.
    2.     Go into Settings>iCloud and delete your iCloud account. Then sign back on to your account. See if your Photo Stream is restored.
    Cheers,

  • Syncing iphone - missing photo

    Hi everybody,
I have this annoying problem. I can see 1800 images in iPhoto, but in iTunes - when i try to syncing iphone - I see only 1100 of them.
I think this is a 'Ipod Cache Folder' problem, but I don't know how solve it. I've tried to delete the folder, but still missing some pictures.
In the past I have had the same problem and solved creating a new Iphoto library, but I'd like to resolve this problem.
PS: The same for Apple TV sync

    Anyone.. please help ...

  • I have updated to 8.1 on both my ipad and iphone 5. I am missing photos...they display as blank boxes. What should I do next?

I have updated to 8.1 on both my ipad and iphone 5. I am missing photos...they display as blank boxes. What should I do next?

Apps downloaded on one should also appear on the other as long as the app in question runs on both iPads and iPhones.

  • Photos which are stored in iCloud went missing from my iPhone's Photo app

After signing out and signing in to the iCloud account in my iPhone, all the photos which were earlier stored in iCloud, ready to be retrieved with wifi, are now not being shown up in Photos app. The missing photos are visible through iCloud.com's Photos, but not from my iPhone. I tried restarting my phone, resetting all settings, signing out and signing in to my iCloud account, but the problem remains. Please help.

  • IPhone sync - restoring missing photos in iPhoto from the phone

I have recently restored from a Time Machine backup, and several recent photo imports are now missing from iPhoto. (Yes, I have tried to rebuild the library, but they are still missing.) The photos still exist on my iPhone, but when I plug it in, it only allows me to import from the 'Camera Roll' album, and not the 'Photo Library' album, where the missing photos still exist. So:
Question #1 - If I allow iTunes to perform a photo sync, will it replace the whole 'Photo Library' album, thereby deleting the photos that only exist on my phone? Or is this a two-way sync, which would happily reinsert my missing photos back into iPhoto? (Wishful thinking I'm guessing).
Question #2 - Is there a way to pull those photos from the iPhone manually, so I can re-import them into iPhoto?

Yes and Yes (using third party software or emailing them, or uploading them) but remember that the ones on the iPhone are compressed optimised versions just for the iPhone display - not the originals.

  • How do I find my hidden/missing photos?

On my iPhone4 my Camera Roll is showing 925 photos, which I have recently backed up to my computer. However iTunes shows I have 2103 photos using 4.47 gb. On my phone under settings>general>usage>photos & camera it shows that I have used 4.6 gb. And on my phone under settings>general>about>photos it shows 2,065.
This is my 2nd iPhone, which replaced the 1st iPhone4 when it had a problem and stopped working.  I am missing a whole lot of pictures, and so the over 2000 number makes sense.  I just don't know how to find the hidden/missing photos.
Can anyone help me with this?

I think your numbers add up --- as follows:
iTunes says you have 2.103 photos.  I claim they consist of:
925 photos on your Camera Roll
178 photos in your Photo Library
1,000 photos in your Photo Stream
    2,103 total photos

  • In new iOS 8 photos app, I am missing photos in photo view that are in album view

All my photos in the iPhoto app on my iMac appear correctly in the album view in the new Photos app on my iPhone 6.  However, not all the photos appear in the photos view.  To try and get the counts to match, in iTunes, I synced my iPhone after unchecking the syncing of photos.  I checked the Photos app on my iPhone and there were no photos.  Then I checked to sync all photos in iTunes and synced my iPhone again.  Every photo on my iMac was in the album view, but there were still missing photos in the photo view.
Anyone have this problem and a solution?

Thanks for your response.  Turns out the iPhotos database was corrupted.  I rebuilt it and now the counts match.
I do have summarize photos turned off as you suggested.
But now I have a new problem.  I have smart albums in iPhoto on my iMac that correspond to decades.  These albums and the photos they contain appear perfectly in the album view on my iPhone 6.  However, a few photos in the photos view appear with the wrong date.  So I'm working on resolving this.

  • Missing Photos in Photo Stream

I take pictures with my iPhone 4s and they go to my iPad just great but I only get about 50% of them to my MacBook Pro.  They are radomly not there.  There will be five or six that are there then 5 or 6 that are black no photo.  All the warythrough the 200 photos I took on my latest trip?  Is there any reason for this random messing up of photos?  Is there anyway of getting them on the MacBook short of syncing my iPhone 4s through iPhoto?  I am not liking this Photo Stream right now to many missing photos.
    Thanks
    Pat

Never mind, figured out the solution turn off Photo Stream in iPhoto them turn back on and all the pictures are there.

  • Iphone missing some obvious functionalities

As much as I love IPhone for its breath taking visuals but it is sorely missing in functionality details which one now takes as granted. I had these functionalities in my 3 yr old phone.
    a) Contacts cannot be copied to create a new one. Generally if one needs to create a new contact for someone's spouse, it is basically the typing of entire info again.
b Numbers cannot be moved/shared between two contacts. Else how can I have the same number for home as well as for myself?
    c) Recent calls and favorites list only show contacts and not numbers which is confusing when we need to assign a different number to the same contact in my favs. It is too much taps to see which number is in the favs list.
    d) Only one photo per email is allowed! Really a sneaky way to market the feature.
    e) Bluetooth only for headsets and car sets. I wish it was for the PC sync also.
    f) Rescheduling just a single occurance of a recurring meeting is impossible.
    g) external java applications cannot be installed? which is really disappointing.
I really miss all these features I had in my previous 3 yrd old Nokia

Concur with your statement about the IPHONE missing obvious functions. The copy function is one, also a search in contacts is another. I have a lot of contacts and it takes time and sometime to much fumbling to find the correct contact. Additionally, I would like to see both notes and tasks synch to the IPHONE as I use my phone for business quite a bit.

  • Missing photos in Photos on ipad 2

I have an iPhoto library of 7500 pics stored in the shared folder on my imac so that my wife's iphone 4 and my new ipad 2 can both access them from our separate accounts. Both the devices are now running iOS5. ALL of the photos appear in iPhoto and on the iphone but there are many images that don't appear on my ipad - they just show as empty rectangles. Seven albums were totally missing. I've tried numerous things including:
I updated the ipad to the latest OS (iOS5) - the 7 albums appeared but were all empty.
I did some research then repaired and rebuilt the iphoto library - some of the missing photos appeared but some existing photos in other albums disappeared!
I dumped the ipod photo cache (in iphoto folder) - no difference.
I edited the missing images within iPhoto - This had a limited degree of success as many of the images reappeared (but not all), but I have noticed a factor that links the problem pics, they were all taken in raw on my relatively new Nikon D90. I didn't import them as raw, I converted them to jpeg in photoshop first, and they all show fine in iPhoto and the iPhone, but not the iPad!
    Ideas anyone?

I've done some more testing, and it would appear that iPhoto is at least partly to blame, I have to modify the imported images in some way in iPhoto before the ipad will recognise them, but even with these mods, they're still not all importing!

  • Itunes 625photo, iphone 37 photo.

Yes very annoying! Definitely less functionality when using Aperture re syncing with the iphone.
Also I can't get itunes to sync all my photos from Aperture to my iphone. When I select sync all it will sync all the albums (albeit in the wrong order - some random order!) but an album that has say 100 photos on Aperture (all aperture managed) will only have shown and sync'd say 60 of them to my phone.
I had a similar issue with iphoto after the latest update of itunes but thought this might be due to the fact that my photo library was referenced and the photos were on a NAS server and maybe (for some reason) it couldn't see some of the photos.
Anyway I have not seen any solutions to any of the missing photos or album ordering on these forums but seen the issues mentioned by others.
    Very annoying

  • Photo stream has missing photos?

I have photo stream up and running on many devices, and was working fine for years?, then just recently I have had only 200-300 of my photo stream photos showing up on my iOS devices.  All 1000 photos are in my photo stream in iPhoto, but most of them are missing from my the feed on my devices, iphone, ipads ect.  I didnt change any settings, and I can't find any settings to limit the photos.  Help

Are the missing photos older photos or random photos.

  • Missing photos on new phone

I recently upgraded from a broken 32gb iphone 4 to a new 32gb 4s but now less than half of my photos appear in my camera roll on the new 4s. The old phone was backed up to icloud before it was broken, and again backed up before buying the new 4s. My message and phone history now appear over 6 months old on the 4s iphone.  My main questions is: How do I get the missing 600 photos onto my new 4s?  I used the icloud back-up daily instead of backing up to my iMac.  Are the missing photos lost forever?  Or is there a way to recover them and download them onto my new 4s?  Thanks in advance for the help!

    Additional info:
I didn't download any of the photos onto my iMac, ever, so they're not in iPhoto folder.  I already checked that.  I was counting on them being in the cloud and when I activated a new device, they would just download automatically when I connected to wifi.

  • Missing photos in iPhoto's Photo Stream

Sometimes I take photos around my construction site, I got a MBP inside my office connected to Internet (sometimes intermittent), when I get in the Wifi area mi iPhone uploads it to Photo Stream with no problem. Issue is when I open iPhoto in my MBP, I am missing one photo, so I got to turn off Photo Stream in iCloud preferences and turn it back on and it downloads all photos again, isn't there a way to force it to sync so instead of downloading all again, it only download the missing photo?
    Thank you.
