IPhone 6 need to restart often

During the time when I was using a 4S (like 3 years, I very rarely had to restart the phone to correct an error like not connecting to WiFi, an app getting stuck or an app closing on itself etc. With my new 6 (64 GB) I seem to have to do that quite often. After the restart, no problems. Has anybody been experiencing the same problem? Can it be corrected?

I Guess your right I'll put a cade on the 6 If I had to get it I do like that  they made the 4.7 the iphone 6 plus is way to big & that's the one that showing more bend on.....the iPhone 6 is super light tho....way lighter then the 5

I can use my iphone 4 because it suddently close down but i can't restart it because my botton power is broken

Don't know if you are sure the Sleep / Wake button is broken, but if you are saying that now only because it won't turn on then try this:
Take your USB cable and plug it into your iPhone, connect it to an AC electrical outlet.  Now hold the Sleep button and the Home button at the same time and see if after a short time (20 sec. or less) the Apple logo appears.  If yes wait until your iPhone lock-screen appears then enter your passcode.
If this works leave your iPhone plugged in until it is fully charged.

  • Since I upgrade to Yosemite, my MacBook started to act like a PC. I need to restart it from time to time and very often. Also when I plug my headset, it dosent recognize it and I need to "Preferences" to selected.

I'm Apple promoter and love it. But, since I upgrade to Yosemite, my MacBook started to act like a PC. I need to restart it from time to time and very often. Also when I plug my headset, it dosent recognize it and I need to "Preferences" to select it manually. So many small issus but acting like PC it is very annoying, how can I recommend Apple for people?

  • How often does your CF instance need to restart?

I'm considering CF as an application solution for a critical
department..and not having much experience with it , was wondering
how often does the CF service need to be restarted ? hourly, daily,
    weekly, monthly?????
i've had experiences with other app servers that at times
could be quite annoying...and would like to get some real world
    input on the issue.
    Many thanks..

It definitely depends on how you code and set up the site.
I've worked at a few places where the only time we restarted the CF
servers (or services) were when we actually switched servers. Other
places we had scheduled maintenance windows and did the restarts
then, sometimes they were needed while other times it was just for
    the sake of doing it.
You should also take into consideration the OS reboots, for
Win2k3 or 2k8 you'll sometimes need to install critical patches
which need to restart to take effect. I don't know about UNIX or
    Solaris and the others.

  • Kernel Panic: You need to restart you computer. Hold down the Power button until it turns off, then press the Power button again.

I apologize for writing a book, but I think explaining the full story may possibly get me a correct answer.  I hope that someone can give me some insight as to what is the problem with my MacBook Pro.  I have a MacBook Pro (15-inch Early 2008), model identifier: MacBookPro4,1 running OSX Lion 10.7.5 with 6 GB memory.  My wife first noticed a problem with the display.  Every so often it would get fuzzy with jumping lines going across the screen making it vitually unviewable.  The final time that incident took place the computer froze which required holding down the power button to restart the computer.  The computer started up to the point of the Apple logo and the spinning gear for quite some time until the screen darkened from top to bottom displaying the following message in five different languages: "You need to restart your computer. Hold down the Power button until it turns off, then press the Power button again."  I have read other blogs and support communities where people get the message intermittently, but my computer would not go past that point no matter what.  Through research and the Apple Store I was told that this is a Kernel Panic.  The so called "Apple Genius" at the local Apple Store was unable to get the computer to boot past that point even with his gadget.  It would not startup in recovery mode, safe mode or off of a disc.  I forget exacty what he told me, but he said it was getting past the first two startup steps, but it would not get past the third step which is to mount the desktop.  He guessed that it may be a problem with the hard drive; a loose wire or something or other.  I disconnected the hard drive completely and took it out.  Everything appered to be connected properly.  Then I installed it back correctly, but it did not solve the issue.  So I guess I disproved his theory of a loose wire...  I purchased ProSoft Data Rescue 3 and connected my MacBook Pro to another Apple computer using a firewire 400 cable.  I was able to get everything I needed off of the hard drive.  I did some more research and I decided to restart the MacBook Pro in verbose mode (holding down the command button and V button).  The computer magically started up!!!  I was upset that I wasted my money on the ProSoft Data Rescue 3.  I managed to take additional items off of the computer and back it up on to an external hard drive.  After some time the computer froze.  I repeated the power button process to restart and received the same kernel panic.  I managed to get the computer to startup approximately six or seven more times via verbose mode; each time the computer staying on for a shorter amount of time before it would freeze.  I managed to run Disk Utitlity.  I performed first aid to fix the hard drive and it said that the hard drive appeared to be fine.  After first aid I erased the hard drive and booted off of a Lion disc to perform a clean install or an erase and install.  Lion installed until the progress bar got the the end where I received a message that there was an error installing Lion, please try again.  Each time I attempted to install the software I would receive the same message.  Eventually the computer would not boot from the Lion disc.  I went back to the Apple Store and the Apple Genius was able to get the computer to boot off of his gadget where Lion istalled completely.  I set up the computer as a new computer.  He said that he partitioned the hard drive as DOS and then back to Mac OS Extended (Journaled) which would get rid of any errors the drive may have had.  He guessed that the problem was the hard drive, but was not exactly sure.  When I brought it home I installed all of the software applications I had on it previously.  Approximately three days later, which may have been the fifth of sixth time starting up the computer, the display became fuzzy again and the computer froze.  The computer did restart once and I was able to retreive a "log" which I have pasted below.  After if froze for the second time it restarted once using verbose mode and froze almost immediately.  After holding down the power key to shut it down and then restart; I received the same kernel panic after the Apple logo and spinning gear which put me right back to square one.  Now the computer will not boot via any method.  It freezes at the end of verbose mode which forces you to hold down the power button to shut down.  I also read that poorly seated ram may cause this issue, but I removed and installed the ram multiple times.  I even purchased new ram from Other World Computing (Mac Sales) 6 GB, but that did not make a difference.  I think I may see six possible problems on the verbose screen mode, five errors and one warning; I will type them out here:
    1. SMC: :smcReadKeyAction ERROR: smcReadData8 failed for key $Num (kSMCKeyNotFound)
    2. SMC: :smcReadKeyAction ERROR: $Num kSMCKeyNotFound(0x84) fKeyHashTable=0x0
    3. SMC: :smcInitHelper ERROR: MMIO regMap ==NULL - fall back to old SMC mode
    4. WARNING - ACPI_SMCCtrlLoop: :initCPUCtrlLoop - no sub-config match for MacBookPro4,1 with 8 p-states, using default stepper instead
    5. SMC: :smcReadKeyAction ERROR: smcReadData8 failed for key MOTP (kSMCKeyNotFound)
    6. SMC: :smcReadKeyAction ERROR: smcReadData8 failed for key BEMB (kSMCKeyNotFound)
I was hoping that someone could read my log to ascertain wether or not they see a problem that stands out.  I was also hoping that someone could tell me if verbose mode provides any information that may be wrong with my computer.  I just hope that someone can give me some insight as to what may be wrong with my computer.  If it is the hard drive I will easily replace it, but I want to make sure that is the problem first before I waste money on a hard drive or anything else.  Please let me know if anyone requires any other information from me.
    Thank you!

I had already written a book and I did not want to bombard people with more information, but in my previous research I did come across the major issues with the NVIDIA card.  I also was well aware that Apple offered a replacement program that ended in December of 2012.  I was going to add that in my original post, but I discounted that theory because I put my faith in the so called "Apple Genius" when I made my second trip to the Apple Store.  I brought the NVIDIA card issue to his attention and asked him if he thought that may be the problem, but he said no.  He said if it was the NVIDIA card that the screen would be completely black and there would be no startup chime.  When I experienced the screen issues I thought it was a problem with the NVIDIA card or the logic board.  I asked myself, how can a flawed hard drive cause the screen to act funny.
nbar and Rick Warren, I thank you both for your help and insight; people like you are the real "Apple Geniuses."  I was hoping there was a way I could wipe the hard drive before I dumped the computer or attempted to sell it.  I guess I will look into purchasing a new machine when I have the funds.  Again...thank you both!

  • Air play in Apple Tv disconnects with no reason, and I need to restart the router to connect again. Meanwhile apple tv is connected to wi if. Can somebody help?

Air Play in my Apple TV disconnects from iPhone or Mac book after some time of playing. I need to restart the router in order to connect again. Apple tv is connected to wifi succesfully? Any suggestion?

I tried something new yesterday after reading all these messages.  My ATV3 was situated on top of my satellite box and I noticed that it was quite warm.  The instruction manual suggests that the box not go over a certain temperature, so I moved the box to a location without the heat under it.  It now works without any problem at all...at least, so far.

With a wireless router (linksys Wireless-B), I used to share the internet connection to other wireless devices, for instanace, my palm and ibook, my sister's notebook PC and Pocket PC. once, I took my ibook to an internet cafe, which gives free wireless connection facilities. My ibook obviously scanned the wireless network, and was connected (as I noted from the Summary of the "internet Connection". but, when I activate Safar, it said that it could bring me to any website because my computer is not connected to internet. it's very strange, as the Internet Connection said it's connected to the wireless network. The Safari page suggests me to run "network diagnosis". i follow the instruction, and it says I should restart the router and then it would work. I didn't succeed. A while later, it connected. I thought it was okay.
Then, this problem comes up even when I am using my home's internet connection via the airport. I use DHCP to connect to my home internet connection. though the airport summary page said that it's connected to my router (the IP address is my router's address), again, Safari said my computer is not connected to internet, so it didn't work. I followed the instruction of the Network Diagnosis, it again asked me to restart my router device. I also noted from the Airport Section of the Network Perference that, it says the airport has a self-designated IP addres, so it may not connect to the itnernet. later on, I retarted the router and the modem (without turn on my home PC), the ibook connected to the internet.
i checked the router setting of my home PC. I'm sure that it's open to all wireless user. Strange through, after I update the settings (even though i didn't make any changes, perhaps the action of 'save settings', it's kind of equivalent to the action of restarting it), my ibook's connection works. When my retarted my PC and ibook, the connection problem comes up again.
it's very frustrating. Does it mean that I need to restart my router everytime? What about if I want to connect to wireless hotspot outside?
    Please please help

Your problem description is complicated, making it hard to figure out what exactly is wrong. Unfortunately, WiFi does this quite often.
To avoid this kind of problem, you should set up different Locations in your Network Preferences for different places that you connect up. That is, make one location for your Internet cafe and another for home. Leave the Automatic location alone.
For locations you know you are going to connect by WiFi, go to Network Port Configurations and drag Airport to the top of the list to give it priority.
If you have a location, where you want an ethernet connection or want to use your internal modem only, then drag those options to the top. Get the idea?
MacOS seems to get confused sometimes when you switch back and forth between different connections all the time. This will not happen if you tell MacOS where you are by explicitly setting a location.
To get out of a situation where MacOS thinks you are connected to non-existent ethernet connection, go into
    /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration
    and delete the NetworkInterfaces.plist file.

You will need to restore your device as New to remove a Restrictions passcode. Go through the normal process to restore your device, but when you see the options to restore as New or from a backup, be sure to choose New.
You can restore from a backup if you have one from BEFORE you set the restrictions passcode.

  • 10.4.7 Update-Cannot Restart, Despite Message "You need to restart your..."

    Aloha, All.
I know there's a string on this, BUT. . . it's gotten rather full, and in one of the contributor's words, "over-generalized."
Here are the specific details of my problem:
Used Software Update to download and update to OS X 10.4.7 on my 15" G4 1.5mhz PowerBook. When I tried to restart (and I have tried MANY times now), the machine gets to the grey Apple and displays a Black rectangular message box which says:
"You need to restart your computer. Hold down the Power button for several seconds or press the Restart button."
(By the way, this message is also displayed in French, German, and Japanese - how thoughtful of Apple to our global neighbors.)
Anyway, I've zapped the PRAM. I've used Option/Power button and selected the hard drive as startup drive. I've tried both "fixes" several time, but no luck.
I've finally resorted to using Firewire Target Mode, and have transferred my important files over to my trusty, old TiBook (runs Panther 10.3.9, and always starts). However, before I take that next rather drastic step of a Clean Install, I'm reaching out to ask whether anyone has found a more elegant, less draconian fix than wiping the hard drive clean and starting all over again??
    Anyone?
    Thank you very much.

Adrian - Mahalo Nui Loa!! (Translation from Hawaiian: "Thank you very much!!")
I started up in Safe Mode, "hid" 3rd party Startup items, and my PwrBk started up w/ no problem and fully loaded w/OS X v 10.4.7!
The offending Startup item was a fun little app - SoundShuffler v. 1.7 by No-U-Turn software, which as the name implies, runs System Alerts (standard, or user-installed) at random, or other configurations. I checked out No-U-Turn's website, and while there was nothing to indicate date of their last update (v. 1.7), the fact that the OS X requirement was "10.1 or higher" may say something.
SoundShuffler harkens back to days of OS 7, 8, and 9, and a similar little app, SpeedBeep, which has since gone extinct. In fact, SoundShuffler allowed me to run all the advanced OS X features and apps, but with the nostalgia of original OS 7, 8, and 9 System Alerts, played at random whenever I mis-executed a keystroke command, etc. (which means I heard them often).
I still have all the sounds available (some were genuine, which I've converted into .aiff), but can only choose them individually. For now, anyway, because I did leave an e-mail message at No-U-Turn's website advising them of SoundShuffler's Startup item's incompatibility w/ v. 10.4.7, so we'll see. . .
Well, again, Adrian, thank you very much for your sound advice (no pun intended)!!

  • Frequent freezes with black "you need to restart" error box

Since installing Tiger I get frequent freezes along with an unfamiliar error message that reads "you need to restart..." In addition, I often find this has happened when the computer has been asleep; I'll enter the office to find the computer making a loud 'racing' noise, the power supply and fan sound like a car being driven at 60 mph in first gear....
When I installed the OS, I also attempted to update the firmware but wasn't able after seveal attempts to determine if the firmware was infact updated: saw no progres bars, no long whining tone as per the instructions...
Are thesse issues related? Any ideas?

the FAQ suggests that I might start with upgrading firmware, which n the last couple of 'softwre updates' I have been prompted to do. But in trying he procedure, I don't seem to experience what the update instructions describe: I click shut down, I press and hold the power button, trying both the keyboard power button and the one on the face of the tower itself, and I hear no long tone, nor blinking light on the front. Instead I get a black window which welcomes me to Open Firmware with instructions as to how to boot or shut down....no status bar, no alert as to when the firmware has been updated...
Is there another way to update he firmware....?

Firstly, I'd disconnect the USB Ethernet device you are using.  Secondly, I'd boot into safe mode to see if the panic is being caused by VM Fusion's extensions.

  • You need to restart your computer error =(

Came home one day, Randomly i got the error every time i tried to start up. OS X would not load just give me the grey box saying i need to restart.
I ran from my origional cd, Did extensive apple hardware test - Passed
    Ran repair disk
    Repair permissions
I finally got it to boot in safe mode, Now i can boot normally but im still getting the error every so often.
Whats the problem here? It sounds like hardware failure but the test passed fine twice.
    Help Please

    There's also this.....
Bad or incompatible RAM is the most common cause of KP's. It could just need to be reset too.
