Iphone 6 on iOS 8.1 bluetooth audio no playlists

I just update my iphone 6 to 8.1   (8.02 to 8.1)
What is fixed: bluetooth connection to my VW carkit for phone. I can make calls again, see contacts ect.
What is not fixed:
Bluetooth audio with my Volkswagen Golf 2014, audio works but no selection available: no tracks, albums or artist etc showing. Does not sync any content view with car(kit). This used to work fine on my iphone 5 on iOS 7.(any 7.xx versions)
What to do?

Update:  It actually hooks fine.  However, I cannot call out, but people can call in.

  • IPhone 6 Plus/iOS 8 and bluetooth connectivity

My iPhone 6 Plus would pair with both my cars, but couldn't make or receive calls!  Erased iPhone and started fresh and it worked.  Then restored from Backup on my computer and luckily it still worked.  Then I updated to iOS 8.0.2 and lo and behold again I couldn't make or receive calls through the car even though it was paired!  Had to go through the whole process I described above again, and then it worked.  Is this going to happen every time Apple has a update?  This is crazy!

The support tech is wrong.  Has nothing to do with the car's firmware.  I had a 5S that I upgraded to iOS 8 and it worked fine.  New iPhone 6 Plus enters the picture and that was the problem.  And the rest I wrote above.  The new iOS 8.0.2 is riddled with so many bugs, it's ridiculous.  Interestingly, when Steve Jobs was alive, issues like this simply didn't exist......my hope is that they fix all these issues quickly and stop blaming it on everything except themselves.  Very disappointing to say the least.  This is probably the worst iteration of all the iOS versions with regard to bugs and issues......and who knows, maybe it's actually the phones......

  • IPhone 4S with iOS 5.0.1 started to breaking up via bluetooth airplay to car audio clarion cx609e

With new iPhone 4S and iOS 5.0.1 my car audio clarion cx609e started to breaking up airplay streaming? Streaming will continue but with in music there is a little cut-offs. This happens with Spotify app, not tested with iPhone´s own iPod app... With old iOS 4.x there were no problems at all?!?!

My son has a similar problem since updating to the latest software on his iphone 4. He can make calls but the other person can't hear him. Facetime and Skype work fine - so it must be the lower microphone that is the problem. He's had it checked at the Apple store in Chiang Mai but they won't fix it - he has to get it back to the UK for service. It's 2 months over the warranty period but having checked around it seems this problem is widespread and Apple need to sort it fast!
I've updated mine and it's fine - but I'm gonna take out applecare before the warranty runs out as I'm not risking having a £495 phone that I can't use as a phone.
I was thinking of buying one for my wife this Xmas but no way whilst they are having so many problems.
COME ON APPLE - GET THIS FIXED WITH A NEW RELEASE ASAP!

  • IPhone 4S and iPhone 5 Running iOS 6.0.1 and A2DP audio streaming on a 2012 Lexus RX350 (Factory Car Stereo)

    Hello Everyone,
Before the release of iOS6 and the iPhone 5, I was able to use the A2DP audio streaming on my car no problems and I was really a happy camper, when upgraded my iPhone 4S to the iPhone 5 (Which came already with iOS6) that funtionality did not work any more, I reconnected my iPhone 4s running iOS 5.1.1 and worked like a charm, then I thought my brand new iPhone has bluetooth problem , that same night (Release data iPhone 5 and iOS 6), I update my iPhone 4S and prepare it to give it to my wife, then It occured to me to go and test the phone back on the car but now Running iOS 6 and "viola", the phone did not stream audio via A2DP. So yesterday Apple Release a minor update for iOS (6.0.1) and after reading the release notes (which it did not say anything Bluetooth enhancements) and updating my iPhone, went and try to test again the phone and did not work. (No A2DP audio streaming), Definatelly there is a problem, I called iOS Tech support and open a Case.  Here are the screenshots for the iphone and car stereo.
    Iphone:
    Car Stereo:
Phone (Voice Feature) works fine with the car.
This happens when trying to Connect the phone manually.
If anyone had this problem in the past and solved, please let us know.
    Thanks
    Rommel J. Jimenez

I had this problem with my iPhone 4 after upgrading to ios 6.0 (10A403).  I called apple support and was given a fix for my problem.  The Apple support rep had me do a reset on my Iphone.  The iPhone then worked with streaming music through bluetooth to my Lexus and also now works with the usb tether.  I did not have to delete the pairing, but that certainly wont hurt.

  • IPhone 5 Bluetooth Audio Problem w/ Car Stereo (Pioneer AVH-P3300BT)

I tried looking around to see if anyone else had this issue, and didn't find an answer.
I have a Pioneer AVH-P3300BT car stereo, and while it doesn't play music via bluetooth, it does have a very nice setup for talking on the phone.
It's always worked fine with my iPhone 4, 4S, and also several Android handsets. It even worked fine on my 4S after upgrading to iOS 6. But now I have an iPhone 5, and the audio quality is just horrendous. I can kind of hear the person on the other end, but according to whoever I'm talking to, my voice sounds garbled and "demonic". The iPhone 5 on iOS 6 is the only device this happens with. Is there a fix for this, or is it at least a known bug? I would hate for my expensive car audio setup to be rendered useless for the purpose I bought it.
The deck also displays other information from the connected phone, such as signal strength and battery level. When the iPhone 5 is connected, it shows a dead battery (even when full) and a completely full signal (which is almost never really true).
I can use the phone with my Plantronics bluetooth headset and there are no sound quality issues there.

Same here. Why doesn't anyone from support offer a Solution or at least reply????
This issue has nothing to do with your brand of audiosystem. I talked to quite a few iPhone 5-ers and they ALL have the same issue.
    @Apple solve this!!!! And reply!!

  • I upgraded my iPhone 4 to ios 5.1 and it broke bluetooth

I upgraded my iPhone 4 to ios 5.1 and it broke bluetooth with my Altec in-motion bluetooth speaker. I now have to "Forget the Device" and re-pair them each time I want to use the iPhone with that speaker. This always seems to work, but it takes way too long to be feasible as a long term solution. Occasionally if I don't "Forget the Device" the iPhone Bluetooth settings will show "Connected" to the Device, but no audio comes out of the speaker even though Music on the iPhone appears to be playing as it normally would if there really were a Bluetooth connection to the speaker. When that happens, I have to once again "Forget this Device" and start over again.

The iOS5 upgrade has made a mess of the bluetooth connectivity.  iPhone4 was paired perfectly to 2012 VW GTI and played all playlists fine.  After upgrade, can see the song, see the timer counting down as if it is playing, but no sound.  AND iPhone 4s paired paired with 2008 BMW handsfree telephone before the update, now I can't use the phone in the car.  WHAT GIVES???  Anyone with ideas out there???

  • Iphone 4S bluetooth audio not working in car after however bluetooth for calls is 2011 nissan maxima

I recently upgraded from an iphone 3gs to an Iphone 4S IOs 5 i deleted the bluetooth profile from my car and paired the iphone 4s ........bluetooth calls recieving and making is no problem...however after i changed my phones the bluetooth audio feature is not working at all in my car which is an 2011 Nissan Maxima.....I check with my friends Ford Focus and it works perfectly .........I don't expect an update from Nissan.....So i hope on the next iteration of the Ios5 firmware this can be addressed..

The bluetooth streaming seems to pause regularly - called Nissan - they don't have any info on it.

  • IOS 8 and Bluetooth Phone and Audio Streaming Failing

I have a 2013 Nissan Pathfinder and a 2015 Nissan Leaf, both with bluetooth phone integration and audio streaming support.  Both cars worked fine when I had two iPhone 5s paired to both cars and running latest iOS 7.  Both phones worked in both cars and could fully integrate to make calls and also to stream audio from device to car.
When I upgraded one iPhone 5s to iOS 8 and replaced the other with an iPhone 6Plus running iOS 8, both are having problems with both cars.
    1.  Both gave a "failed connection" message but the phones do actually pair.
    2.  Both cars show a phone handset with a line through it on the in-car display which means no connection.
    3.  The "5 bars" cell signal indicator on the in-car display no longer shows up.
    3.  Outgoing calls made from phone and put through car system work fine except for some garbled audio.
    4.  Incoming calls make the wrong screen appear on the nissan display and can not be answered by the display on the car.  Pushing the answer button on the in-car display doesn't do anything.
Lots of other tiny issues.  Apple needs a fix here.  I called Nissan and they said it's 100% Apple's fault.
Anyone else having issues with Nissan Bluetooth integration or any other manufacturer?

We have a 2008 Nissan Sentra - The bluetooth pairs ok.  When a call comes in on my 5S or my wife's 4S the bluetooth does not do anything.  The bluetooth does not ring and it does not connect to the call.  The call has to be answered on the phone.  Like I said, the phones are paired.  You can access Siri through the bluetooth to initiate a call.  Once the call is connecting, the bluetooth drops off and there is no sound.  Just like when you receive a call.  Apple needs to fix this.  This is completely ridiculous.  I WAS going to buy an iPhone 6.  I will not if this is not fixed.

  • Just updated my iPhone 4S to iOS 7.0.4 --I should have known better!  Wifi & Bluetooth are now dead!!  (And so is my trust in Apple updates)

So, I've always considered myself a guy in the know for all things Apple.  People are always coming to me for help with things as it relates to thier iPhones/ iPods/ iPads/ iOS and generally I can help them.  I am an Amercan living abroad in Ghana, so a lot of ExPats bring their things to me for support.  Being abroad, I find that I have need to carry mutiple phone lines (something that I would never do in the States).  So I have three iPhones --my 4, 4S, and 5 (as soon as I get back to the States in a few months, I HAD planned to purchase the 5S).
Anyway, friends all laughed at me because they were all on some version of iOS 7 and I was happily content with iOS 6.  I wasnt a fan of the new iOS and wasn't interested in updating.  However, newly updated apps now forced me to update and so I did.  I really should have read the thousands of dissuccuins first, as then I would have known that some iPhone 4S devices have issues. Unfortionately, the update to iOS 7.0.4 killed my wifi and bluetooth.  Thinking it a software issue, I did a clean factory restore and sewt up the device as new.  No luck, still not able to connect to any wifi or use my bluetook headset.  I googled until my fingers hurt trying to find a solution; none of the alleged fixes do anything for me.  I'm so disappointed in Apple.
I have no idea what to do.  And I'm seriously reevaluating my opinon of Apple products.  Too many people online say that contacting Apple hasn't really accomplished anything as iOS 7 updates seems to have effected the hardware.  Which really ***** for someone like me.

Apple guys are deleting posts. I have found my posts have been deleted. Apple should MUST let us downgrade at least to previous release from current which was working fine.

After I updated my iphone 4 to ios 6.1.3 I can no longer connect to my bluetooth, plantronics model M25.  I tried reset all settings after turning on and off also submitted diagnostic.  Do I have to buy yet another bluetooth set?

Thank you wjsten for your soon reply. Unfortunately on these days I'm in a country that Apple don't have any retail store here and for sake of time I prefer to fix it myself to DHL it to the nearest country to use its warranty. Do you have any idea how can I fix it? Do you think it's a software issue?

  • IPhone 6 on iOS 8.1 no longer connects to car's bluetooth

I got the iPhone 6 about 4 weeks ago and the weekend after getting it, I was able to get my Infiniti dealership to hook my iPhone 6 to my FX35's bluetooth system so I can make hands-free calls.
I just had my FX serviced this past weekend and now my 6 will not connect to the bluetooth in the car.  I tried a friend's Moto X and it connected and discovered it fine.  I even hooked my bluetooth earpiece to my 6.
Am I doing something wrong here?  Or does iOS 8.x still have lingering bluetooth problems?

Update:  It actually hooks fine.  However, I cannot call out, but people can call in.

Is it possible to recover my data from iCloud backup without working wifi? I have as many other upgraded my iPhone 4S to iOS 7.0.2 with the result that the Wi-Fi or Bluetooth no longer works. However, i can connect to iTunes via cable but there is wrong version of backup.

    Answer is no.
If you want the iCloud backup you have to have n internet connection, thus WiFi.
The not working WiFi has happened with quite a number of users.
It is not exactly clear what is the cause but there are suggestions to clear it up:
Some people have had success by removing an apostrophe from the iPhone name. If your iPhone is called something like “John’s iPhone” then this might work. Go to Settings > General > About > Name and change it to something with no apostrophe.
Some people have reported success by putting the iPhone into Airplane mode and then going to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings, but the problem may return.
You could also try going to Settings > Control Center and disable Access on Lock Screen then turn your iPhone off and on again.
Make sure that your router firmware is up to date.
Try backing up your iPhone and then restoring it. Check how to factory reset an iPhone for details.
If nothing is working for you, try contacting Apple or take your iPhone into an Apple Store.
    Succes, Lex

  • IPhone 5 Bluetooth Audio not working with stock Toyota radio

I have a 2010 Toyota 4Runner Limited which has the premimum JBL radio in it.  Up until recently, I have had an iPhone 4 which worked well with both hands free phone features, along with Bluetooth Audio so I can stream my music from iTunes or Amazon Cloud Players.  I dont use the feature all the time, so I am not sure when it stopped working (after upgrading to IOS6 or upgrading to an iPhone 5) but bluetooth audio no longer works.  I can still use the bluetooth phone features, but if I go to the bluetooth music tab on my stereo, it states that the portable player is not connected. Siri also works fine through bluetooth, as it it can read my text messages, ask and answer questions through the car stereo, though I cannot make an outgoing call with Siri because after it shuts off siri and starts to dial, my stereo disconnects.
I know Apple updated the bluetooth, but you would think the new version would be backwards compatible, right?  Is there a plan from Apple to fix this, because I am sure Toyota isnt going to update the firmware on their stereos just to fix an issue with one phone...

Actually, as an update, mine is now working (the BlueTooth Audio part, Siri still cannot place calls).
I have done this on my first (now smashed) iPhone 5 and my new iPhone 5.  It takes a lot of trial and error, but you can get it to work.
First thing is with the iPhone 4, all I had to do was connect the phone in the phone connect screen and it just worked for both.  Not so with the 5.  With the 5, I have to register it both in the Audo Settings> Bluetooth Audio Settings menus as well as the phone settings on the radio.  I didnt know there were two different connections with two different pins.  (0000 and 1212).  I forget which one you have to connect first, but again, I tried it so many times both installs and it eventually worked.  It may be easier to change the name of either the Phone or Bluetooh Audio name from Car Multimedia, so the iPhone can easily connect to one or the other, but I left them both with the same name.  I can now play music, and when the phone rings, automatically swaps over to that one.
Play with it and you will get it to work.  If I have time, i will remove it and do it again and write down the steps.
