IPhone 6 Plus battery doesn't last a full day, not even close to making it to next day, do I have a defective iPhone?

I wake up in the morning and browse a little bit and play a bit of game before getting out of bed and head to shower while playing music on my phone, these are all done within an hour and my phone has already lost 9% battery. I don't play graphic intensive games.
I purchased this device 3 days ago.

My new iPhone 6 also isfar from getting through a full day with what I'd consider moderate usage,
AAccording to "usage" Facebook seems to be the main culprit so I'm going to turn that off and see how I go...
got got the screen brightness down reasonably low as I know that has a big effect.
generally not impressed, is there any other diagnosis or is it a trip to see the geniii!?!?!!

My battery seems to drain quickly since latest update and I think program's are running in the background.  How do I make sure that they are closed properly. Thanks.

What does seems to drain quickly mean?
Very few apps run in the background.

  • I just got an iPod touch, it was fine with battery life before I added Apps but now the battery doesn't last more than a night, what should I do?

I just got an ipod touch from my sister yesterday which she has had since October. The battery life went for days with her but as soon as I started checking my email and adding apps the battery doesn't last more than a couple of hours. I deleted some apps but no change. I also kept my email logged in and my notifications turned on so I'm wondering if they are part of the problem. Please let me know what I should do. Thank you so much.

Yes, notifications are part of the problem.  For more information look at at the previous posts on this problem.  Yu can find some of those on the right hand side of this page under the heading: More Like This.  I keep mine in airplane mode when asleep.

  • Hi everyone i have just bought new Ipod touch 32 GB and upgraded to 5.0.1 and it it worse now my battery doesn't last long for more then hvvour. what should i do?

    Hi everyone,
I have just bought new Ipod touch 32 GB and upgraded to 5.0.1 and it it worse now my battery doesn't last for more then two hour.
what should i do? it is seriously big problem.
    Please help me.......

This is a general comment, not directed to anyone, and not to be taken personally by anyone.  This ongoing screw up with the new upgrade (5.0.1) is getting to be a **** SHAME.  In no way can APPLE or anyone else for that matter not know by now that the upgrade is terribly flawed.  The Ipod machines themselves are super great products, and I enjoy mine to the max.  However the upgrade once applied ruins it.   And at least, not to my current knowledge,  there haven't been any fixes forcoming.
In my opinion Apple should own up to that fact and warn folks that, even though the upgrade was presented with the best intentions, IT JUST AIN"T WORKING.  And not to download it until further  notice. This noticication could be done through the retail sales outlet, online, what ever.
I liken this to a pharmaceutical coming out with a new vaccine, encourage everyone to use it, then discover it's bad to the degree it causes it uses to become sick.  Rather then pull the vaccine they keep on allowing unsuspecting ones to continue to vaccinate, and become sick.  What a shame!

  • I bought a ipad mini online from the apple store. His battery doesn't last more than 6h. I return it back to them they send me a new one, but the problem is same. Battery doesn't last more than 5-6h!

I have purchased a iPad mini online from the Apple store. Since day one I had 2 issues with it. First is that the battery life doesn't last more than 5-6h active usage, and the second one is with the wi-fi. It works properly but after I leave it for a while in sleep mode and try to reuse it, it doesn't want to open a web page or app store or mail (anything connected with the internet search) but it shows that is properly connected with my home network. So I have to turn off the wi-fi connection and turn it on again so it start to work properly. After couple off days this becomed very annoying so I contacted the support via phone and they gave me instructions for return it and that I'll receive a new one without aditional fee. I get the second device in the predicted time but again I have the same issues with the wi-fi and battery life. I will be pleased if someone from the Apple expert team explaine to me what should I do, because I dont find it for normal what is happening. On the Apple official site under the specifications for iPad mini it says that the battery lasts for at least 10h and the wi-fi problem isn't mentioned anywhere. Thanks in advance.

If you want someone from Apple to explain what you should do make an appointment at an Apple store if there is one near you and take your iPad there and talk to Apple. If no Apple store is close enough then call Apple to find out what your alternatives are. There is a Contact Info link at the bottom of every page in this forum.

  • Battery Doesn't Last The Day!!!!!

    Hello everyone,
I just purchased my Blackberry Pearl 8130 not even a week ago and the only thing bugging me right now is the fact that the battery doesn't even last a day. I left it for 6 hrs without touching it and the battery went down 40%!!!!
I am just wondering if this is a common thing with this phone, I mean I know the phone does alot, and I know it is constantly sending and recieving data or at least mine seems to be. I just want to know if anyone has any suggestions on how to improve the battery life! I mean when I first purchased the phone I let the battery run out and then charged it I am not charging it when it is half full, the battery is always dead when I charge it.
Also MSN messenger doesn't seem to be working either I am getting an error 67 failure to reach server....anyone else having this issue???
    Sincerely,
    Kat

Turn off the gps, if you have gps on the phone and turn off bluetooth, if you're not using it. That will help some. If this continues, go to your provider and ask them who to talk to about battery replacement. Occasionally, a battery just doesn't live up to its charge. Also, you should recharge these types of batteries when they are a little less than half way drained. They are better suited for this type of charging. Only drain completely maybe once a month or so. Hope that helps some. Sam

  • Top case got replaced; battery doesn't last as long as the old one

My rMBP mid 2012 had a problem with the trackpad so I got the top case replaced, since the warraty was expired and I was stupid enoght not buy the apple care, It cost me around $650 USD, got it back last tuesday, everything seems to work fine except for the battery, it doesn't last as long as the old one, wich is kinda of wierd since the old one was around one and a half years old, should I consider taking it back to the Apple Premiun Reseller where I got it fixed? how common are these issues? Finally I read on reddit that I can ship my laptop to an official Apple store/service and got it diagnose or fixed? Is it worth it? I read that some folks got it exchange for a new one, the conditions of my laptop are pretty good, I have taken extreme good care of it, but some problems still arise, it has a couple of white stuck pixels in the display besides the problems that I already mentioned already.
    Cheers!

I have the MacBook Air 11' and on http://apple.com it says the battery is supposed to last 9 hours.
    Did you read carefully?
Note the words 'up to' not 'will' last 9 hours.  Apple makes these measurements based on very minimal resource intensive applications.  My experience that battery run time is much less than these unrealistic advertising claims.  Battery run time will be a function of the number and types of applications that are in use.
    Try a SMC reset:

    That may improve things somewhat.

  • My battery life doesn't last the work day.  Any suggestions on getting longer life?  Does it have something to do with Apps?

I can not get my battery life to last an entire work day.  All I really do is check emails, calendars and facebook.  Usually by 4pm, it is 3/4 of the way used up.  Someone told me that I could be because of my apps and that they could be runnign all the time.  Is there a way to turn them off when not using?

  • Upgraded Ram, battery doesn't last

I recently upgraded my Macbook Pro's ram from 4 GB to 8 GB. I have also upgraded to OSX Mavericks. Ever since I changed the Ram, my battery doesn't even last for a few hours. Could it be because of the Ram? It is Apple compatible Ram 1067 Mhz 8 gb

    TKRohit wrote:
I m losing about 1 percent every 2-3 minutes. Also, I have now set the ram to 6gb, but still the battery's going down fast.
Whether you have 4 GB RAM or 8GB RAM installed will not have any affect on the battery run time.  Based on what you describe, your MBP is experiencing 3 to maybe 5 Hrs battery run time.  Considering that the battery has been cycled 697 times suggests that the run times are not out of line.
Do not be fooled by the Apple's advertised 'up to' 1000 cycles.  'Up to' does not equate to 'will".  The criteria that they use do not reflect real world conditions thus the advertised run times will rarely be achieved.
If the battery can achieve 80% charge or more of the original 100% design capacity, it is by Apples definition still serviceable.  I suspect in your case that will apply.  The easiest way of determining this is to download Coconut Battery Application and examine the output data.
There have been some complaints posted on these forums regarding the drop in battery performance with the installation of Mavericks.  This might be a contributing factor and you might test that by reverting to Lion.
I understand the battery performance is not to your liking, but I can find anything  grossly out of line.  You may consider a visit to an Apple store genius bar and have the technicians examine it.  This is a free service.
    Ciao.

  • HT201412 my iphone 5 doesn't wanna turn on. Not even connecting it to my laptop, what should i do?

it was working normally last time i used it (last night) and in the morning it was off and it didn't turn on not even connecting it to my laptop, or charging it with the plug and i checked the cable, i even changed the cable twice and the cable was working with my ipod so it was not the cable. It didn't even appear as connected and the screen was just off.what should i do?

If you ran the battery completely dead, the screen may stay black for a few minutes until it acquires a bit of a charge.

  • How do i get an iphone 5's battery to last. Just bought a brand new one. Changed all the settings as in location services, dim display push mail, yet it doesn't last half a day.

Just bought a brand new iphone 5. But the battery doesnt even last. I have changed all the location services n all. Still it doesnt last even half day. And the usage isnt heavy. My wife is using it, so it doesnt have a heavy usage. Tried every thing.

Gidday, I had the same problem when I bought my iPhone 5. If you drain the battery right down to nothing until it is completely flat and then recharge it 100%, drain it again, and fully charge it you should be good to go.
    Hope this works.....

  • IPhone 3GS Shuts Down When I Get To 20% Battery - Battery Doesn't Last

So like everyone now, I'm experiencing battery issues on the 3GS after upgrading to 4.3. My phone can barely get through a 5 hour day at school & it's dead before I even get to work at night. I'm constantly having to keep my phone plugged in to the external battery I bought. My 3GS also automatically shuts down as soon as my phone reaches 20% battery. This never happened before iOS 4.3. Used to be the phone shut off at 2% battery, not 20%. Anybody else experiencing this? I hope this gets fixed in an upcoming update soon.

I have exactly the same issue with iPhone 4 iOS 4.3.3 getting empty battery shutdowns at 20% then at more than 20 % seems to be poor calibration but I don't know how to reach 0% if it keeps shutting at 20% anyways charging to 100% then restoring appears to solve the problem but it's only a matter of time then the problem comes back ... Any ideas

  • MacBook Battery doesn't last

I have had my MB for about 3 months now, however when I am running off the batter it only lasts for 1.5hrs. I am not running any hardcore programs and the Bluetooth is turned off. Is there anything wrong with my battery?

You should not be troubleshooting a brand new Mac.
You have 14 days to return the computer w/no questions asked.  Plus you have 90 days of FREE phone tech support on top of your standard 1 year warranty unless you also purchased AppleCare which gives you an additional 2 years of coverage plus FREE phone support.
Strongly suggest that you take FULL advantage of the above before it runs out.  Let Apple deal w/the problems.

  • HT1688 after update battery doesn't last like before..

Wondering if anyone know's why my iphone batter last very little.. ... full charge will run down to 12% in less than an Hour...

Is the backlight on when you use your iPod? That will drain the battery incredibly quickly. Also, playing games, changing songs frequently, etc. will drain the battery. The 18 hours is the maximum play time judged by Apple. It is unlikely that you will ever get quite that much.
