  • IPhone 6 Plus will not allow sync without erasing content

I recently upgraded from an iPhone 5 to an iPhone 6 Plus towards the end of 2014. My iPhone 5 had always been synced with my former Windows laptop, however I upgraded to a Macbook Pro in mid 2014. My iPhone 6 Plus has never been synced with or even plugged into my old Windows, however I find now that when I try to sync music to my iPhone 6 Plus it will not allow me to do so without erasing my entire phone as a pop up claims my new iPhone is synced to my former Windows laptop, which is completely not the case. I have set up my iPhone 6 Plus on this Macbook, saved backups and installed updates with absolutely no problem until now. I refuse to erase the contents of my phone as I know I have never used the iPhone on the computer it claims I am synced with.
When setting up my iPhone I have restored from a backup of the 5 that was saved onto my new Macbook. The 5 had been synced with my Windows laptop, so is it because of using this backup that my phone cannot sync? Is there any way to avoid erasing my iPhone 6 Plus?

its saying it was previously synced with windows because of the backup. if you don't have anything synced from another computer then you have nothing to worry about. you can just erase because its only going to erase info that was synced from other computer and since you have no info it won't have anything to erase

My iPhone 6 plus will not automatically wi fi sync with iTunes 12 when attached to a power suppy
i can manually sync from phone or iTunes on MacBook but will not auto sync.
have latest versions of IOS8, OSX Yosemite and ITunes 12.

    Good day dexv,
There are three conditions that must be met in order for an iPhone to sync automatically over Wi-Fi. It sounds as if you have met one of them, can you check to see if the other two are met as well?
    See this article -
Sync your iPhone, iPad and iPod touch with iTunes using Wi-Fi - Apple Support
The iOS device will sync automatically when the following conditions are true:
    The iOS device is charging.
iTunes is open on the computer.
The iOS device and the computer are on the same Wi-Fi network.

  • I run in an area without wifi and poor cell reception. How do I keep my tunes on the iPhone 6 plus and not in the cloud

    iPhone 6 plus,64 bit, A8 processor, M8 motion sensor, 64 GB memory, OS 8.1;
I run in an area without wifi and poor cell reception. How do I keep my tunes on the iPhone 6 plus and not in the cloud

    Hi Delecee,
You can easily do that by downloading the music before you get to that area of weak Wi-Fi and cellular signal by downloading the music directly from the Music app by tapping the cloud button next to songs. The other option is to sync the music with iTunes over USB to have the songs downloaded to your phone. Take a look at the links below to get your music downloaded to your iPhone.

  • Should i use screen protector on my iphone 6 plus or not?????

should i use screen protector or not for my iphone 6 plus or not????

On most of my iPhone's past, I didn't use one.  But I do have one on my iPhone 6.  There's more glass and since they now make screen protectors out of tempered glass with oleophobic coating, it seemed a good idea to protect the larger screen area.  6 Plus is even larger, with more glass.
So ask yourself this.  Which would you be more upset about seeing a scratch on?  The iPhone screen itself, or a simple not very expensive, replaceable screen protector?

  • The Health app on my iPhone 6 Plus is not recording flights climbed correctly.

The Health app on my iPhone 6 Plus is not recording the number of flights of stairs I climb correctly.  It seems I have to go up the stairs 2 plus times before it records 1 flight climbed.  Are there any settings that I can change?

As far as we can figure out, the hardware is working, but the software isn't, and there aren't any settings to fix it:
Re: iPhone 6 barometer not working
I went into Apple Store and asked for help, and the genius said the software is not ready for production and to wait for updates.

Your friend will have to create his iCloud account on a different iOS device.  His device has already created the maximum number of iCloud accounts and cannot create another one.

  • IPhone 6 plus Bluetooth not auto connecting - sometimes

    Hi all,
I've seen numerous sites about numerous issues with blutooth on iOS 8 and iPhone 6
But I do not have an issue pairing, that is not what this post is about. I can pair just fine. I can pair to my car just fine. It syncs the contacts just fine. I can play music, use Siri and make phone calls just fine.
BUT; infrequently; something happens to the bluetooth on my iphone 6 Plus. I get in my car an my phone has not connected one day, at random. I look at bluetooth on my phone and it makes no attempt to connect to the car, so I select the car, it thinks about it and then after a while says to make sure it is in range, couldn't connect.
To resolve this; I turn off bluetooth on the iPhone, and turn it back on. Immediately it connects to the car. This works if I do it from the slide up control center also.
Similarly, I've experienced Airdrop just fail to find anyone via bluetooth, until I do the same, Off On bluetooth on the phone and suddenly everyone appears again. Again intermittantly.
    What I've Tried.
Restarting phone. Hard restarting phone. Resetting network settings. Unpairing all bluetooth devices and re-pairing (note pairing has nothing to do with airdrop) and many combinations.
Symptoms suggest the bluetooth chip on the iphone has crashed and just isn't receiving anymore.
iPhone 6 plus; latest OS. originally restored from a backup of an iPhone 4S running iOS8. No other issues with device other than wsometimes screen doesnt wake on first press of home button / lock button.
Has anyone experienced this issue? If so did you resolve it? If not do you have plans? This is starting to get annoying enough for me to just return it. My old iphone doesnt have this issue.

I have this problem too.  My phone and car (2013 Hyundai Elantra GT) are paired and there's no problem with that.  Normally, they automatically connect via Bluetooth when I start the car.  However, occasionally, they don't.  When I try to manually make them connect (from the phone or the vehicle), the connection fails repeatedly.
I'm not going to do "Reset all Network Settings" on my phone unless it's a last resort and guaranteed fix because I don't want to lose wifi logins to every wifi network I've ever connected to.

  • Please help! iPhone 6 Plus will not sync to PC, sync button greyed out.

After upgrading to 8.3 I am unable to sync my iPhone 6 Plus with iTunes on my PC. When the phone is connected by cable the PC recognizes the phone and it is visible in iTunes, but the sync button is greyed out and the storage bar only shows about 20gb used, all yellow and marked as "other" data even though my iPhone actually has about 90gb of apps/music/photos on it. I am using the stock Apple sync cable, latest iOS update and iTunes. So far I have tried:
-Power cycling both phone and PC.
-Completely uninstalling iTunes and all associated programs in the order recommended by Apple, then re-installing.
-Unchecking everything to be synced (music, photos, etc) then clicking apply. iTunes does send some kind of brief sync with the phone after I click apply but I'm still left with the greyed out button and yellow storage bar. Nothing is deleted from the phone. Re-checked everything same result.
-Wiped and restored iPhone from iCloud backup, still no sync button and yellow storage bar.
I noticed when I check for music "on device" it only shows about 30 songs from a couple of different albums, all with the dotted circle indicating they were not transferred. I actually have a lot more on the iPhone. I've tried everything I can think of to clear these out and nothing works.
    Any ideas?

Try to set it back to factory settings and restore from the latest backup, explained in this article:
Use iTunes to restore your iOS device to factory settings - Apple Support
If all content on your phone is marked as "other", the data on the phone can't be read by iTunes anymore and the only thing that could help is restoring the device.

    Hope the small feels better.

  • Iphone 6 plus will not turn on

I updated iPhone 6 plus to current IOS and then restored using the backup from the prior phone (4s).  The phone will not turn on now.  Any ideas?

    Try resetting:
Hold both the home and power buttons at the same time until the Apple boot logo appears. No data will be lost.
Should take no more than 20 seconds of holding the buttons.

  • Iphone 6 plus will not connect to itunes through my computer

Got the new Iphone 6 Plus and for some reason when I plug into computer (which should normally automatically start up iTunes) it does not!!!  Can anyone help me in setting this up.   I played around with it for some time, and it will opened up and I did manage to back up and sync the iphone 6+ & computer.  But it will not do it again.  I have the latest ITunes and have done a restart.  Any help out there???  Thanks

There might be reasons to use both methods:
Use iCloud and iTunes Backup together
For an extra level of backup for your data, you can use iCloud Backup and iTunes Backup together.
Using iCloud Backup doesn't disable iTunes Backup completely; it just turns off Automatic Backups via iTunes. You can trigger a manual iTunes Backup whenever you want to create a new one.
If you're using iCloud and iTunes Backup together and you want to speed up your iCloud Backup and restore, you can save iCloud storage by turning off iCloud Backup for very large data types. For example, in iOS 8 with iCloud Photo Library beta turned off (or in an earlier version of iOS), if you have a 15 GB photo library on your iPhone, you might not wish to back it up to iCloud because it's already being manually backed up to iTunes.

  • New iPhone 6 Plus has been "downloading" my photos from iCloud for two days now. Is this normal? If not, any advice?

I recently upgraded from iPhone 5s to iPhone 6 Plus. When I go to view my photos, all of them are blank and at the bottom, it says "Downloading..." It has been this way for two days, but hasn't really downloaded any of my photos yet. Does it normally take this long? Is there anything I can do to speed it up?

IF you are getting no messages period - not just no iMessages - then it is very likely a carrier issue. It is AT&T and not the phone. SMS travels via the carrier wave used to make phone calls - iMessages use data and go through Apple servers as you know
If you are getting no messages at all - then I wonder if your cell service is ok or if you are in an area of strong signal - then does your SIM card need to be looked at

  • My iPhone 6 plus will not pair with my macbook air 2014

My iPhone 6 plus gives a message unsuccessful not supported when I try and pair with my macbook air.
both are running up to date iOS and OS X.

An iPhone will not pair via Bluetooth to a computer (Mac or Windows) except for personal hotspot and then only if your cellular plan supports it. https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-7722
If you are attempting to use Handoff/Continuity, that does involve Bluetooth but the devices are NOT paired; Bluetooth just needs to be on and the devices in range of each other. The following may help with Handoff/Continuity issues: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS5458
