IPhone 6 Plus - remove extra keys on keyboard in landscape mode

is there a way to remove the extra keys that appear on the keyboard in Landscape mode? I would rather the extra keys are not there so that the letter keys are larger? thanks

There is no way to modify the existing keyboard. However, iOS 8 allows for adding third party keyboard. Search the App Store. Another keyboard may better suit you.

  • IPhone keyboard in Landscape Mode

    Hey,
Is any one else having the same issue ? Any solution is appreciated. When I use my iPhone keyboard in landscape mode (application - gmail) some of the letters in the keyboard don't pop-up. The keyboard inputs the letters in the mail however the on-screen prompt for a key being pressed (letters jumping up) does not happen. It happens for different letters each time. I have seen 'q' key do that .... r some times etc. It is not just the first row of letters too. I have seen other letters.
I reset the phone, restored it and even got a warranty exchange. I still have this issue. Any ideas ?
    Peace...

  • My IPhone 4 with OS 5 recently quick going to landscape mode in messaging

    Hi,
Up until two days ago my messages where able to go to landscape mode.  I know the gyroscope is still functioning as Safari, pictures, etc, all go in and out of landscape mode.  I have double click the home key and scrolled right to verify that the landscape mode was not locked.  Yet it still won't go into landscape mode in either recieving messages or creating new ones.  Any ideas?

Found in another post simply hold home key and power button to reboot IPhone.  Worked like a charm.

Will not turn on, will not turn on unless connected to power, or unexpected power off
Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.

Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 30 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.
If the iPhone did not turn on, reset it while connected to the iPhone USB power adapter.
If the display turns on, go to step 4.
If the display remains black, go to next step.
Connect the iPhone to a computer and open iTunes. If iTunes recognizes the iPhone and indicates that it is in recovery mode, attempt to restore the iPhone. If the iPhone doesn't appear in iTunes or if you have difficulties in restoring the iPhone, see this article for further assistance.
If restoring the iPhone resolved the issue, go to step 4. If restoring the iPhone did not solve the issue, seek service.

  • Won't Recognize Extra Keys on Keyboard

I just bought a new Keyboard (Razer Tarantula), and it has 10 keys that can be programmed. But I can't get my computer to recognize that my keyboard has these extra 10 keys. I am trying to program macros into these keys, but I can't because my computer recognizes all of them as the "A" key. Does anyone know of a fix for this?
    thanks!

Have you installed an OSX driver for it ?

  • Email and SMS and keyboard in landscape mode.

I was wondering if, by any chance Apple is working to enhance the iPhone's email and SMS capabilities by incorporating the use of the accelerometer. This would allow email and sms messages to be viewed in widescreen format making it easier for my older eyes to see. This would also allow email and text messages to be created and sent using a widescreen keyboard making it much easier for my big fumble fingers to use. This would be the one GREATEST enhancement that could be made for the iPhone!

No one hear can address 'what Apple is working on' - this is a user-to-user forum. There are aps in the App Store for landscape emailing; nothing for SMS.

  • IPhone 6 Plus keyboard in landscape - can you make keys larger?

    Hi,
is it possible to remove the extra keys the iPhone Plus shows on both sides of the keyboard in landscape mode and instead have a larger keyboard with larger keys that takes up the whole screen?
I have large hands/fingers and struggle to type on small screens; hence my disappointment that the iPhone 6 Plus doesn't have larger keys than the iPhone 5 or 6. I have not been able to find a setting to change this. I have also looked at third party apps but not found anything conclusive yet.
    Many thanks,
    Phil

The keyboard size cannot be changed.  You could try a stylus pen.

  • IPhone 6 plus keyboard shows all ?????

    Hi,
I am having issues with my new iPhone 6 plus 64Gb showing a strange keyboard as above, mainly on spotlight searches but sometimes on SMS also.  I've been able to switch to Swiftkey or another keyboard except when entering my work wifi password which I couldn't switch keyboards on.  That was interesting.  Phone has been rebooted several times.
I'm also seeing the phone got to the Apple screen and semi reboot at least once per day.  I tried removing all but the standard keyboard but that did not fix this strange behaviour.  Running iOS8 naturally.
    Thanks,
    Karl

    Hi,
I have restarted the phone several times.  It's also gone to the apple screen by itself on multiple occaisions and then been available again in about 10-20 seconds which is far faster than a full restart.
I just tried a reset and it's still the same.

  • Iphone 6 plus No Volume

Hello, I have a sound issue and don't know what happened. Please help! My iPhone 6 Plus has no volume, It stays in headphone mode with I try to turn up volume with external controls. • IPhone 6 Plus doesn't switch to landscape mode on the home screen

my new iPhone 6+ will not switch to landscape mode when turned horizontally in the homepage. Any thoughts about why this is? It will inindividual apps, but just not on the home page. And no, my screen orientation is not locked in portrait mode.  Is anyone else having similar problems or have any suggestions?
    Thanks in advance.

    +1
    My iPhone 6+ doesn't:
 rotate to landscape mode on the home screen
     display dual-paned email
 display the extended keyboard in landscape mode.
Curious if anyone else is experiencing all three symptoms on their 6+ too?
(It ***** because I bought the horsey 6+ for these features.)
I'm suspicious that it was my restore that did it. Did anyone else experiencing the "no rotate" bug restore from an iTunes backup? I did, and I think that it went afoul. I restored from an iTunes backup (via USB), from an iPhone 5s running the iOS 8 GM Seed.
    Does this ring a bell?
I'd rather not wipe it and set it up as a new device as this takes HOURS that I don't have right now, but I suspect that the restore (possibly the iOS 8 GM) is the culprit.
    Thanks!

  • Keyboard in landscape layout

Can anyone tell me of programs that let one enter data with the keyboard in landscape mode? So far I have only found to offer this - "WorldWiki." In the iphone info on Apple, com, they show the keyboard in landscape mode (much easier to type - more space).
    Thanks, John

  • No Landscape Mode on my iPhone 4S

    Dear community,
Since my upgrade to iOS 7.0.4 I've lost the ability to view video, text messages, photos, podcasts or any content for that matter in landscape mode. I've tried everything i could think of without any success.
Any ideas on how I may resolve this issue?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
    trinibass.

ok, here are the exact details for dummies like me. i followed trinibass's directions but couldn't see the locked icon. when i found it after 4,5 times, it worked. the "control center"  (the one you use for your flashlight and very few other things) is accessed by swiping up from the bottom of that pretty colorful screen w/all your apps that you usually see when accessing your phone with the manual button just below the screen. step 2, swipe your finger upwards. then you should see a gray/black/white screen. on the very top row of that screen, last icon is an old fashioned padlock. THAT is the one you click on, and voila, it unlocks your keyboard for landscape mode. however it got turned off is a mystery to me.

  • Help on how to remove case on iPhone 6 Plus

Hello, I bought the "Barely There" case from Case Mate for my iPhone 6 Plus, and the buttons on the side are terrible. So, I've found a new case I want to switch over to. The problem is, I can't get the case off. When I do get it to move, the phone starts to bend. I'm terrified that this phone will break, so I'm not sure what to due.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Thank you in advance

  • HELP some non working keys on keyboard HP G60-519WM laptop..might need help removing keys?

I have had this laptop for a couple years now and I haven't had any problems with the keyboard, keys or their connection with my laptop. I have never spilt anything on it or been aggressive with the keyboard either. Tha essential problem is that now my T,Y,P,K,M keys and the CTRL and PAGE  keys (to the right of space bar) no longer work after cleaning my computer. There might be more but I haven't been able to tell what the Fn button and some function buttons fully do.
    How it all began:
Two weeks ago I noticed that the fan on my computer kept running and the computer would get warmer quite easily and take longer to cool down. It also started lagging or loading things slower than it should.
So I went onto HP's site and found their information on cleaning fans and vents and the information I saw in it mentioned all the problems my computer had. So I decided to follow their directions on how to clean the fan, vents and keyboard. I noticed alot of dust and small hairs from my dogs and small lint balls..more debri then I thought would be in my laptop.Nothing huge or that I would see as damaging but it definitley needed a cleaning.
So I let the computer sit for a while and then I turned it on and that is when I noticed some of the keys no longer worked. I decided to see if the device was installed properly and the computer said it was working fine, so I figured it might be debri stuck under the keys.
I followed the directions on how to turn off the computer and I got a small tool and a light to look under the keys and remove what I could see.. I did that with all of the keys, not just the ones that stopped working. I was surprised I was able to get alot of stuff out from under the keys. BUT the same keys still didnt work.
So far at this point I have used the on screen keyboard and an external keyboad (what I am using to write this) and thos keys work fine. I have checked the BIOS and the same keys didn't work (on the bios black screen). I tried to check the device and for updates or any errors and I didn't see any problems. I attampted to uninstall my keyboard which initially said it was a 101/102 keyboard and then when i restarted to finalize the process..the device registered in its place was now called a standard keyboard and the computer didnt ask me to reinstall the one i uninstalled.initially. So I don't know if that was a successful way of doing that or not.
    Sorry for my novel but I just want to make sure anyone who can help knows what I have been doing. My questions now are;
    A. did I do the bios test right?
    B. did i uninstall my keyboard right? if so then why would a different keyboard already be on as a device without me doing anything? if i didn't please help me on how to..
    C. I feel like there is debri trapped under these kes, is there anyway to remove each key to clean and inspect? if so how, because I haven't been able to find out any useful information about that process on this computer/keyboard?
    D. is there any thing else I could do besides removing the keyboard and replacing it?
     PLEASSE HELP ME?? THANK YOU!

you did not push the clips all the way in to secure the ribbon cable for the keyboard. the clips push a little further than you think if you do it right you can tug on the cable and can't pull it out.
