  • IPhone 6 screen freezes and can't find wifi after iOS 8.0.2 update

iPhone 6 screen freezes and can't find wifi after iOS 8.0.2 update. Have to do a hard reboot. I am Extremely disappointed and lost ALL trust in Apples Quality Assurance. From now on I'll wait a week before I update.

    Hey there Shortos,
It sounds like your phone touchscreen is not consistently working for you after updating to iOS 8. I can see how that would be pretty frustrating. It sounds to me like this could be a software issue or an issue with the screen itself. I would start with the troubleshooting in the following article to help troubleshoot the screen itself:
iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Troubleshooting touchscreen response
    Restart your device
Hold the On/Off button until "slide to power off" appears. Slide to power off your device. When it is off, press the On/Off button to turn it back on.
If you can't restart your device, reset it by pressing and holding the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for a least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
Clean the screen with a soft, slightly damp, lint-free cloth.
Avoid using the device while wearing gloves, with wet hands, or immediately after applying hand lotion.
If you have a protective case, or if you are using a plastic sheet or film on the display, try removing them and testing the device without it.
If that does not resolve the issue, I would next quit all the running apps on the device:
iOS: Force an app to close
    Double-click the Home button.
Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.
Swipe the app up to close it.
When you have done that restart the device and test the issue again:
iOS: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting

  • IPhone 6 plus screen freezes intermittently - forced restart required

I'm on an iPhone 6 plus with 128gb running 8.1.2.
It seems that intermittently (recently mostly in iMessage; which hasn't been behaving since 8 & yosemite) my phone screen freezes.
By freeze, I mean it is visible. It will even paralax on the home screen so some CPU/GPU stuff is working, I can even click and double-click the home button, but touching the screen elicits no response what so ever.
Recently a new version of the problem has only started in iMessage where I am getting some results, but never anywhere close to the target I actually touch.
    Is this a known issue?
Is there a solution, that is known to work?
Is this a hardware problem or software problem?
I have removed all non-apple keyboards because it seemed to always start when I was typing someplace (regardless of keyboard used).
    Suggestions? Help!
    Thanx!
    -- Dave

I've been having similar issues with iOS 8.1.3 on my six plus. It will freeze exactly as you describe--home button works, parallax works, but touching the screen elicits no response. I can also double-press the home button to bring up multi-task view, and I can scroll through the open apps, but I can neither change to another app nor swipe apps up to close them. The freezing occurs most often within the Messages and Email apps, but I've had it happen in Safari, Settings, Calendar, etc. When it happens, its usually a second or two after I open one of the apps in question. Once it freezes, I have to press the lock button and then unlock it, and then everything works fine again for a period. Restarting the phone doesn't really help, as it will randomly freeze again when using one of the aforementioned apps. Apple support recommended I try backing up to iTunes and restoring the phone using the Set up as New option. It seems to have helped a little. Maybe its my imagination, but it doesn't seem to be freezing nearly as often or as long (knocks on wood). But it did not alleviate the problem entirely.

  • Iphone 5 screen freezing

I've just picked up a new iphone 5C, which was a replacement for a previously faulty iphone 5C, and as soon as i switched it on i noticed the screen freezing, unable to swipe of press any buttons.  it only lasts a few minutes then starts to work again.  I've re-set the phone a couple of times and backed up from my I-Cloud but it's still happening.
Is this a common issue? Anything i can do or is it another faulty phone?
    Thanks
    Steve

Bring it back to the store and show them what is happening, your replacement is also covered by a short period of warranty.

  • IPhone 6 - Screen freezing

Hello, my iPhone 6 is freezing the screen often. I've done the restore from iTunes 3 times and not solved. Currently there is no application installed, and shortly after on and with the locked screen makes freeze the screen again, requiring the rint (POWER + HOME) button to return to work for a short time. Another problem is that wireless connection is not enabling, ie the field is dimmed and I can not activate. How can I solve this problem, is it hardware?
    iPhone 6, iOS 8.3
      Thank you.

To make sure that this is not software related, set it back to factory settings, without using any backup data afterwards. Set up the rest of the personal settings manually and test the phone. If it still does not work as expected, and Wi-Fi is still greyed out, this is a hardware issue and the phone has to be serviced by Apple or an Authorized Apple Service Provider:

    Hi cpsingh,
    Welcome to the Support Communities!
The following article will provide some troubleshooting steps for your iPhone.
iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1430
If that does not resolve the issue, refer to page 146 in the iPhone User Guide to Reset All Settings:
iPhone User Guide for iOS 7
    manuals.info.apple.com/MANUALS/1000/MA1565/en_US/iphone_user_guide.pdf
The final troubleshooting step would be to restore your device:
    iTunes: Restoring iOS software
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1414
Restoring your device will delete all data and content, including songs, videos, contacts, photos, and calendar information, and will restore all settings to their factory condition. Before restoring:
Verify that you are using the latest version of iTunes.
    Back up your device.
Transfer and sync content to your computer.
I hope this information helps ....
    Have a great day!

  • IPhone 4 -screen freezing

My iPhone 4 keeps freezing and I can't seem to turn the phone off. How can I resolve this issue?

Did you try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button until the Apple logo comes back again?

  • My iPhone 3gs screen freezes

    my iPhone 3gs screen freezes

    Greetings cheersone,
From what I can gather from your post, it sounds like your device is frozen or not responding. I have located article which may help you resolve this:
If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch doesn't respond or doesn't turn on - Apple Support
If your device doesn't respond when you press buttons
Your device might not return to the Home screen when you press the Home button, wake from sleep when you press the Sleep/Wake button, slide to unlock or power off, or it might appear frozen. Try these steps:
    Restart your device.
If it still doesn't respond, or if it doesn't turn back on, reset your device.
Thank you for contributing to Apple Support Communities.

  • IPhone 5c screen freezing

This started today for no reason. I was on safari and started to type into a search bar, it was really delayed which is usually normal but it was extremely bad. The screen then freezes completely  and is stuck on the webpage I was on. The top bar where it shows you the time also flickers on and off, but overlay is still there, just the text is gone. I can turn it off but  when I slide the screen it immediately goes back to the web page and is still frozen. I can turn on Siri and hear the sound but it is still stuck on the screen. I'm assuming that the processes still run but the screen is just stuck. Only way to fix is to hard reset. The iphone is also a year old and I have not dropped it recently.

    Hey there Hoodratsz,
It sounds like your phone is frequently becoming unresponsive and acting unexpectedly. Resetting in the following manner is where I would have started as well:
To reset, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least 10 seconds, until you see the Apple logo.
Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
If that is the reset you are doing, then I would next backup your phone to your computers iTunes library:
iOS: How to back up and restore your content
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766
And restore it from your backup with this article:
Use iTunes to restore your iOS device to factory settings

  • IPhone 3GS screen freezes regularly - only sleep button revives it

I have had the 3GS now for 2weeks. Had the Ipod Touch before which was great and motivated me to purchase the IPhone, so I had the online ability all the time.
    Been a great disappointed unfortunately.
Installed all my apps from the beginning, and noticed the frequent freezing of the screen when just browsing apps, but also within apps the screen would stop responding. The home key always works though.
The only way to revive the screen is to hit the sleep button, and then unlock it again with the home button + slider.
Since then I have tried all the tricks in the book (I think):
    1. Rebooted -no effect
    2. Hard Reset (home + sleep 10 secs) - better performance, but still freezing screen
    3. Restored it with content through Itunes - no effect
    4. Restored it as new iphone without content - no effect
    5. Restored it as new iphone with the OS 3.1.2 - no effect
Also disabled push notifications (google exchange for mail, calendar, contacts). (Just now I noticed I missed an additional push setting for the calendar and contacts in a deeper menu item - a final hope maybe?)
Anyhow, is there anything else I can do before I send it away to the service point in Sweden? (No Genius bars here...)
Could reinstallation of Itunes really have any effect? I am already using the latest version.
Any tips are welcome (Phone not jailbroken or any funny business like that)

Reinstalling iTunes won't help unless you have trouble syncing or iTunes recognizing the iPhone. The problem seems to be in your phone, but it could be a specific app that's causing it.
I suggest restoring the phone as new, an then adding each app one by one, testing the phone after each addition. If you find a specific app causing this, delete it and re-download it from the app store. Check to see if it's compatible with the current iPhone OS - some older apps haven't beed updated and cause problems.
Beyond that, there's no choice left except warranty service for a possible hardware defect.

My previously perfect iphone 5s has just been updated to iOS 8.0.2 and now for minutes at a time  the touch screen doesn't work. The buttons do, but not the screen. It then comes back to life for a minute or two before it stops working again. Anything I can do? Thanx

  • Iphone 6 screen freeze and restart

Hello to all,my iphone 6 64gb is new almost one month,i observed that  lot of times per day screen frozen and also frequent restarts, have you any idea?

First, reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again. You will not lose any data by resetting, but it can cure some glitches.
If this does not work, and to make sure that this is not software related, set it back to factory settings, without using any backup data afterwards. Set up the rest of the personal settings manually and test the phone.
If the phone works as expected, restore from the latest backup. If the problem comes back, the backup data contained corrupt data, causing your issues.
If it still does not work, this could be a hardware issue and the phone has to be serviced by Apple or an Authorized Apple Service Provider:

  • Iphone 3G screen freeze

My Iphone 3g of 3 months old screen froze for two hours.  It did not response to touch and i tried several times to turn it off.It stayed illuminated the whole time and got quite warm to touch.  Luckily the battery died after 2 hours and once attached to the charger worked again.  Any ideas? Help?

OK, some more information. When I am getting the white scree I can not force quit the phone and itunes does not recognize it. I need to try to reboot a few times before it pops up in itunes. Then restore. If the first restore works I wait for it to go white again. Rinse and repeat.
Also, the issue may be connected to the sleep button as it happens most often when I accidentally touch that button.

Wait for the Apple logo to Appear and then Disappear...
Usually takes about 15 - 20 Seconds... ( But can take Longer...)
