Iphone 6 Plus USA for UK use

Can I purchase an unlocked iphone 6 plus which is cheaper in the USA for use in the UK?  Apple said "no" but being a cynic wanted confirmation that this isn't just marketing salesmanship.  They said LTE won't work in the UK.

I was wondering the same thing, FWIW you might like to look at this discussion?

Can i buy an iPhone from USA online and use it in Europe?

If you use a credit card from a financial institution in the US,
with a verified billing address in the US, and ship the order to
the US. Warranty will be valid only in the US and LTE will not
work in EU. The low prices you see for some iPhones are
because the iPhone requires a 2 year contract with a wireless
carrier in the US. Prices for unlocked (useable with any carrier)
    iPhone 5 are $649 for 16 GB, $747 for 32 GB, and $849 for 64 GB
+ applicable taxes which will vary with shipping destination within
    the US. Still interested?

It is advisable to purchase the phone in the country you intend to use it.
    1)  You will have Warranty...
    2)  your phone will work as expected.
    3)  Unless Purchased Directly from Apple as an UNLOCKED device, the iPhones will be Locked to a US Carrier.. usually for a 2 year contract period.

  • HT3819 I am a teacher. I have an iPhone and iPad for personal use.  I also have an iPod and now an iPad for school use.  Would it be best for me to use home sharing on all 4 devices, or should I split my account and have separate accounts for home & schoo

My first i device was an iPod touch that I was given for use in my classroom.  Then I got an iPhone for personal use.  Both items are listed under the same username and account.  Since then I now have 2 iPads, one for home and one for work.  I have many apps that are only for work like Math Zombie and Science Facts, and many that are for personal use, like Facebook and YouVersion.  I know that I can synch each device and tell iTunes which apps go on which device.  However at home I use a Mac, and my school computer is a PC.  I am wondering if I should split my account and keep personal separate from work.  Then I can synch all school related devices on the PC and home devices on the Mac.  I realize that there maybe the rare occaision that I might want one app for both accounts.  That's the chance I take on splitting my account.  Are there ay benefits one way or the other?

Will you be the person paying for apps on both accounts?
Are you the only person that will use both of the iPads?
Is there a chance students will be using the work iPad and if so, do you want personal data stored on it?
If you're the only one using it I'd keep the same account just to have the flexibility of having access to everything on all devices. If your students will be using it or if the school is paying for the school apps I'd keep separate accounts. It all depends on how often you will use school apps from home, and home apps at school. Just some things to consider...

  • Best iPhone Sat Nav for light use

I have to change cars this week, my current car has intergrated SatNav, new one won't.
So was thinking of getting a Sat Nav app for my iPhone 4. I currently have N-Drive but now can't find it on the app store. Is this good enough for me?
I would say that I only use it once in a while really, not heavy and everyday use. I've had Tom Toms and they see fine, but they are £50 for UK map only. Co-pilot is £20 big difference.
I like POIs as often go for trips with family, Co-pilot doesn't seem to allow you to load your own though?
Is map share on Tom Tom whereby it updates maps for corrections from users often? I think TT allows own POIs to eg from Pocketgpsworld?
I also for the few occasions like speed camera database, which I believe Co-pilot and TT do.
So any others? What are they all like as an expeience on a relatively small screen (integrated one was 6" screen)
    Cheers

Motion X GPS Drive app for .99 cents (US). Cheap, excellent, and only pay as you need it for the data which would be IDEAL for your use. I'm like you. Just need it once in a while.

  • Buy iphone 5 USA made n use in Malaysia

hye...i'm interested to buy an iphone 5 thru online shipping..according to US price...but i need to use it at my country Malaysia....is it possible to me to use the iphone from US made and use it in Malaysia?

If you want a US iPhone, you'll have to fly to the US to purchase it, as Apple does not ship out of the country & will only ship to a verified billing address located in the country whose online store you are trying to use.
Will it work? If officially unlocked...only sold by Apple in the US...yes. Be prepared to fly back to the US for all warranty/support issues, as your won't get any support for a US iPhone in Malaysia.

  • Buying an I Pad in the USA for UK use

Help please. If i buy the 3G version, will it be locked or can i use a UK sim when i'm home

The AT&T 3G iPad2 is like an "unlocked" phone -- you can take out the mini-sim card (it comes with a little paper-clip like device--a regular paper clip will also work) and replace it with one that works in UK (or Europe, for that matter).   With Verizon, you have the "advantage" of the Verizon network in North America, but your roaming charges for international use will be WAY expensive.  If you want the flexibility of using the iPad with data/phone pkgs available in the UK and Europe, you need to go with the AT&T version.
I got spoiled with the 3G connectivity on my Kindle on a trip to Paris & Amsterdam last year (even though the browser is dreadfully primitive).  I knew I'd have to have that extra accessibility available on our long trips to Europe, so I took pains to research this VERY carefully before getting my iPad2 this year!

  • What to do: Buying macbook pro in USA for azerty use?

    Hello,
I originated from Belgium but live in NY now, i want to buy myself a macbook pro but I'm used to the azerty keyboard.
From what i've read on this forum, I know that the language packet and keyboard can be altered software wise on macOS.
Harware wise, I've read some stories of people who altered it themself or put stickers on a qwerty keyboard.
First of all, is it possible to buy an azerty macboob pro directly from the USA store ?
Second if it isn't possible what do you suggest do to harware wise ?
Stickers ? Installing other keyboard, ?
And a little question, if I put Windows xp or vista on the macbook pro will it have problems with the change of azert qwerty etc ?
    Thanks in advance
    Kind regards

First of all, is it possible to buy an azerty macboob pro directly from the USA store ?
    No.
Second if it isn't possible what do you suggest do to harware wise ?
The keycaps do come off so if you have the right complement of keycaps you can always move them around.
    Stickers ?
    Bad idea in my opinion.
    Installing other keyboard, ?
Probably the best option. You can always have someone buy a keyboard for you, as a spare part, complete in Belgium and have the ship it to you for a straight swap.

  • If I buy an iphone in USA can I use it in UK?

I Am going on holiday to USA and hope to buy myself an Iphone, if I do will I be able to use it in UK with UK sim card when I come home? Are the iphone'sold in USA and UK exactly the same?

If you buy a SIM Free phone (model A1586)...
    http://store.apple.com/us/browse/overlay/iphone/about_unlocked
...versus the T-Mobile unlocked phone (model A1549) you can use it on the O2, 3, EE and Vodafone LTE networks according to this page.
    http://www.apple.com/iphone/LTE
You have to buy online or from a physical Apple Store...
    http://store.apple.com/us/buy-iphone/iphone6
    The same warranty restrictions apply.

  • IPhone in USA & uk

Anyone using a iPhone in USA & uk using carriers in both countries ?

We have a Verizon droid & when we change the SIMM to O2 in the uk it doesn't quite work, it still presumes we are in the USA, we have just consulted a 02 guru & it had him beat, I guess there is something in the firmware.  Having now made the change to a iPad, better late than never, now wonder if a iPhone 4 or 4s would do a better job in both countries.  To buy a unlocked phone from apple USA is both expensive & they warn it will only be compatible with att&t  in usa, so it looks as if it would be a Verizon iPhone but do not want to run into the same problem as with the droid & wanted to know if anyone has direct experience on both sides of the pond.

  • I have an iPhone 5 from India. I am going to USA for studying. Can I use the same iPhone over there or I will have to buy a new one?

I have an iPhone 5 from India. I am going to USA for studying. Can I use the same iPhone over there or I will have to buy a new one?

If officially unlocked, you can purchase a sim from one of the two nationwide GSM carriers, AT&T or T-Mobile. However, AFAIK, none of the carriers in India offer unlocking for the iPhone. Thus, if your phone is carrier locked, the only way it will work in the US is roaming...that would cost a fortune.
So, if you have a carrier locked iPhone, leave it home or sell it before you come to the US, then purchase an officially unlocked iPhone, from Apple, when you get to the US. You'll be able to use that phone in India when you go back.

Your question has been answered.  Jailbreaking cannot be discussed here.  If you buy a phone locked to a carrier, it would be down to them to unlock it, and that's very unlikely if you've only just got the phone.  Locked phones are "cheap" for a reason - you're signing up for a contract and that subsidises the cost of the phone.

  • I'm visiting new York(USA) for work on Sunday, just wanted to know if i can buy an un locked iphone from the apple store or not, since i'm not a resident, to the record we don't have an apple store at my country

I'm visiting new York(USA) for work on Sunday, just wanted to know if i can buy an un locked iphone from the apple store or not, since i'm not a resident, to the record we don't have an apple store at my country.

You can buy an unlocked iPhone at any of the 5 Apple stores in NYC. All are open on Sunday. Note a couple of things, however:
US iPhone 5's will work on 3G in the rest of the world, but not on LTE because the US phones use different channels than other countries
Be sure you say "unlocked", not "no contract"
If it breaks it must be returned to a US store for repair, and if shipped to Apple it must be from and to a US address

I have heard stories that Apple will not even look at an iPhone purchased
in another country at any price since they will not be able to replace with an
identical iPhone which is their practice ( carrier locked etc)
