IPhone 6 plus will not charge!

A few days ago, my iPhone 6 plus randomly bricked (would not turn on) for literally no reason. The charge was fine. The Apple Store replaced it on the spot with a new 6 plus. I've been having issues getting this one to charge, not to mention the battery life is awful compared to my previous 6 plus. Here are the charger issues I was having:
each charger I had gave me "this device is not apple approved" error message... even the one that CAME WITH THE PHONE.
When I could actually get it to charge... great.
The battery just died, so I went to charge it. It is no responding to either of my chargers, whether it is plugged into my computer's USB port or the charger which came with the phone. I am sitting here coming completely random things, like switching between random USB ports on the back of my iMac. Occasionally it will show the red charging battery and then quit.
I am extremely frustrated by this, and I am considering just returning this phone. I don't ever remember a brand new Droid being this bad.
Does any one have any suggestions outside of "go to the Genius Bar"? It seems that they just replaced by phone with a crappy one that also stopped working a couple of days later.

i am having same issue is there anyway to fix this without taking it back?

  • IPhone 6 plus will not charge past 1%

    Hi,
I recently started to have problems with my 6+. It will not charge past 1% it says it charging (lightning bolt). I have tried lots of different chargers no change.
I have done a system restore still the same. It will turn on for abit then turn off after about 10 mins then just show the battery charging at 3 red bars.
Took it to my local storm front store and they said take it to an apple store which is around a 120 mile round trip.
    Anyone else had this problem.
    Thanks.

    sounds like a defect battery

  • My iPhone 6 plus will not automatically wi fi sync with iTunes 12 when attached to a power supply.

My iPhone 6 plus will not automatically wi fi sync with iTunes 12 when attached to a power suppy
i can manually sync from phone or iTunes on MacBook but will not auto sync.
have latest versions of IOS8, OSX Yosemite and ITunes 12.

    Good day dexv,
There are three conditions that must be met in order for an iPhone to sync automatically over Wi-Fi. It sounds as if you have met one of them, can you check to see if the other two are met as well?
    See this article -
Sync your iPhone, iPad and iPod touch with iTunes using Wi-Fi - Apple Support
The iOS device will sync automatically when the following conditions are true:
    The iOS device is charging.
iTunes is open on the computer.
The iOS device and the computer are on the same Wi-Fi network.
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

  • Just purchased an iPhone 6 and will not charge. Tried 3 different cables and different outlets.

today I purchased a new iPhone 6 and it will not charge. I tried 3 different charging cables and 2 separate outlets.
    Please help.

Replacement is the obvious fix, but you may want to take a quick peek inside your Lightning connector just to verify there's not some dust or other detritus causing inserted cables to fail to make proper contact.
Normally with a phone that isn't brand new this happens most often due to pocket lint.

My Iphone 4 will not charge, only when the battery is totally dead.

I would make sure you are using an Apple branded cable with your iPhone.  If you are, the troubleshooting steps in the article below may help.

  • 6 plus will not charge with Lightning cable after 8.1 update

Received my phone yesterday after ordering on the second day of launch and restored from my computer backup with the Lightning cable provided in the box.  After I installed the 8.1 update over wifi, now phone does not recognize the Lightning cable.  I get the not compatible message if I plug into the phone and the other end is in free air. It now will not charge or sync with computer at all.  I tried 2 different Lightning cables with the same result. I did notice the life being sucked out of the battery after 8.1 update.  I did the reset setting trick with no luck.  I have a apt at the Apple store in a few hours.  Any thoughts?

Apple store replaced the phone and lightning cable this morning.  She said it was Hardware issues.  Well it worked fine up until I updated to 8.1 software.  The cable broke while I was removing it from the phone in front of the tech.  This afternoon I purchased a 6' lightning cable with braided jacket for under $20 bucks at Sams.  Well worth the money. The reason the cable broke was due to the small area left to grab the connector while my phone is in the Otterbox defender case I received yesterday.

  • IPhone 6 Plus will not allow sync without erasing content

I recently upgraded from an iPhone 5 to an iPhone 6 Plus towards the end of 2014. My iPhone 5 had always been synced with my former Windows laptop, however I upgraded to a Macbook Pro in mid 2014. My iPhone 6 Plus has never been synced with or even plugged into my old Windows, however I find now that when I try to sync music to my iPhone 6 Plus it will not allow me to do so without erasing my entire phone as a pop up claims my new iPhone is synced to my former Windows laptop, which is completely not the case. I have set up my iPhone 6 Plus on this Macbook, saved backups and installed updates with absolutely no problem until now. I refuse to erase the contents of my phone as I know I have never used the iPhone on the computer it claims I am synced with.
When setting up my iPhone I have restored from a backup of the 5 that was saved onto my new Macbook. The 5 had been synced with my Windows laptop, so is it because of using this backup that my phone cannot sync? Is there any way to avoid erasing my iPhone 6 Plus?

its saying it was previously synced with windows because of the backup. if you don't have anything synced from another computer then you have nothing to worry about. you can just erase because its only going to erase info that was synced from other computer and since you have no info it won't have anything to erase

  • My iPhone 6 plus will not pair with my macbook air 2014

My iPhone 6 plus gives a message unsuccessful not supported when I try and pair with my macbook air.
both are running up to date iOS and OS X.

An iPhone will not pair via Bluetooth to a computer (Mac or Windows) except for personal hotspot and then only if your cellular plan supports it. https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-7722
If you are attempting to use Handoff/Continuity, that does involve Bluetooth but the devices are NOT paired; Bluetooth just needs to be on and the devices in range of each other. The following may help with Handoff/Continuity issues: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS5458

  • Iphone 6 plus will not turn on

I updated iPhone 6 plus to current IOS and then restored using the backup from the prior phone (4s).  The phone will not turn on now.  Any ideas?

    Try resetting:
Hold both the home and power buttons at the same time until the Apple boot logo appears. No data will be lost.
Should take no more than 20 seconds of holding the buttons.

  • My iPhone 6 Plus will not use any Store downloaded ring or text tones

My iPhone 6 Plus is updated to 8.1.2  and even after using the "restore tones" utility, none of my Store purchased ringtones or text tones will work.  It doesn't matter if i set them to default, or set them to specific contacts, they won't play.  It will only use tones shipped on the phone.  If I have a custom tone set and get a call or text, it defaults to the Note tone that shipped on the phone.  I can change the tones to any other tone that shipped on the phone, just not to any purchased tone.  I've power cycled the phone, even re-downloaded the tones.  Nothing...
    Any thoughts?

  • Iphone 6 plus will not connect to itunes through my computer

Got the new Iphone 6 Plus and for some reason when I plug into computer (which should normally automatically start up iTunes) it does not!!!  Can anyone help me in setting this up.   I played around with it for some time, and it will opened up and I did manage to back up and sync the iphone 6+ & computer.  But it will not do it again.  I have the latest ITunes and have done a restart.  Any help out there???  Thanks

There might be reasons to use both methods:
Use iCloud and iTunes Backup together
For an extra level of backup for your data, you can use iCloud Backup and iTunes Backup together.
Using iCloud Backup doesn't disable iTunes Backup completely; it just turns off Automatic Backups via iTunes. You can trigger a manual iTunes Backup whenever you want to create a new one.
If you're using iCloud and iTunes Backup together and you want to speed up your iCloud Backup and restore, you can save iCloud storage by turning off iCloud Backup for very large data types. For example, in iOS 8 with iCloud Photo Library beta turned off (or in an earlier version of iOS), if you have a 15 GB photo library on your iPhone, you might not wish to back it up to iCloud because it's already being manually backed up to iTunes.

  • Please help! iPhone 6 Plus will not sync to PC, sync button greyed out.

After upgrading to 8.3 I am unable to sync my iPhone 6 Plus with iTunes on my PC. When the phone is connected by cable the PC recognizes the phone and it is visible in iTunes, but the sync button is greyed out and the storage bar only shows about 20gb used, all yellow and marked as "other" data even though my iPhone actually has about 90gb of apps/music/photos on it. I am using the stock Apple sync cable, latest iOS update and iTunes. So far I have tried:
-Power cycling both phone and PC.
-Completely uninstalling iTunes and all associated programs in the order recommended by Apple, then re-installing.
-Unchecking everything to be synced (music, photos, etc) then clicking apply. iTunes does send some kind of brief sync with the phone after I click apply but I'm still left with the greyed out button and yellow storage bar. Nothing is deleted from the phone. Re-checked everything same result.
-Wiped and restored iPhone from iCloud backup, still no sync button and yellow storage bar.
I noticed when I check for music "on device" it only shows about 30 songs from a couple of different albums, all with the dotted circle indicating they were not transferred. I actually have a lot more on the iPhone. I've tried everything I can think of to clear these out and nothing works.
    Any ideas?

Try to set it back to factory settings and restore from the latest backup, explained in this article:
Use iTunes to restore your iOS device to factory settings - Apple Support
If all content on your phone is marked as "other", the data on the phone can't be read by iTunes anymore and the only thing that could help is restoring the device.

  • IPhone 6 plus will not send text messages

I just got an iPhone 6 plus and am having trouble with text messages. I try to send a simple several sentence text message (no photos) and it appears to start to send but gets hung up and never completes. I tried turning iMessage on and off, tried resetting the network several times, but it still hangs up. I am using Tmobile service but I am connected to my home WiFi.

  • After repalcing lcd and digitizer on iPhone 4, battery will not charge.

When I plug it in, the power cord symbol shows up on the battery life indicator, but the charging symbol does not appear. I have checked the battery connection, as well as the battery contacts to ensure they are clean. I have tried several different power cords. Plugging into computer via USB does not work either. The phone conitnually powers off, and them back on again, with the battery life at 3-4%. Also, if the phone is plugged into the wall when I power it up, it goes to the setup screen, then the "connect to itunes" screen and shows the battery at 100%. If I power it up while unplugged, it goes to the normal home screen and memory is restored but battery is practically dead. I have also tried multiple hard restarts.

Correction:  when I power it up after disconnecting and reconnecting the battery, it boots up like normal. However, if it is plugged in, it goes to the configure and connect to itunes screens.

  • Iphone 6 plus will not sync

there was some comments earlier on iPhone 6 freezing when trying to sync.
Just wanted to say that I had that problem, so I disconnected from iTunes. Exited iTunes. unplugged phone.
Plugged phone back in but made sure that it was in airplane mode and voila, it worked very quickly.
Hope this helps those of you still
    having the same issue.

Nevermind. Apparently it was fixed with the latest version of iOS/MacOS or both. After about 30 minutes, the sync started. Thanks for listening.
