IPhone 6 plus won't receive messages!

I have an iPhone 6 plus, and for the last 2 weeks I've been having messaging problems with both iMessage and SMS. With some people, mainly those with Android phones, I wouldn't receive their texts at all! They would get mine but I wouldn't get a reply. I went DAYS without getting any messages from them. I have gone to T-Mobile 4 times, they reset my phone to factory settings, gave me a new sim card, reset the network settings, and then replaced my phone... For a few days, the messages were working fine. Tonight, I had to wait 20 minutes for a picture message to be sent to my boyfriend, who has a Galaxy S5 - a few days ago, it would send with no problem (I literally didn't have to wait more than 30 seconds for the picture to send). My friend just called me to ask if I had received any of her iMessages from today - I had not. Another friend has been trying to send me picture messages for days - they say "delivered" but do I see them? NO. I was having the same issue with my previous 6 plus, which is why they gave me a replacement, and look what's happened! More messaging issues. This is getting ridiculous. I NEVER had messaging issues on my iPhone 5s. NEVER. And to make matters worse, I was getting 4 bars of service on my last 6 plus, but this replacement is only getting 1 or 2 (if I'm lucky) NO MATTER WHERE I AM IN THE HOUSE. I have called T-Mobile customer service multiple times and they keep saying it's a hardware issue. Really? On both phones? Great.
Does anyone else have these issues? Is there some magic spell I can do that will fix these messaging problems? Or should I just go back to my 5s?

Start with soft reset then reset network settings and a possible Sim card reseat. Careful they pop out when using an earring or paperclip to remove.

Sorry, forgot to add this and I can't find the edit button.
    -I am using build: 9A406
-One funny thing I want to add too: when I put the iPhone in the Apple dock and connect it with my PC, I open iTunes and select my phone. There you can see the build, software version,.. But after telephonenumber it says N/A: not applicable.. Something I only just noticed. I'm pretty sure my number was displayed back in Nov. when I first got my iPhone 4S.
And the very last thing: Most of the time I have a very good signal, 4 out of 5 bars. It is only rarely that I have only 1 or 0 bars.

  • My iPhone 5 won't receive or make calls. Is there a way of unbarring it?

MY iPhone 5 won't make or receive calls, is there a way that I can check to see whether my phone is blocked?

Then you need to explain exactly what is happening? What have you done to try and troubleshoot the problem?
Who is your carrier (and what country are you in)?  Where exactly did you get the phone? What changed? Has this phone ever worked on this carrier? Are you getting any error messages either on the phone or in iTunes?

  • IPhone 5 won't delete messages

    I have an iPhone 5 (iOS 7.1.2)
Recently I've been trying to delete iMessage threads because they contain a year to a couple months worth of text messages. Initially the thread disappears, but I think it causes the Messaging app to crash because when I open it I see an empty inbox, and I don't receive messages people send. I tried restarting my phone and everything goes back to normal. All my threads appear in my messages including the ones I tried deleting and i receive messages people sent previously only after I restart my phone. This has been happening every time I try to delete text threads and I'm not sure how to make it stop happening

    Hi kat_seen,
Since this is not normal behavior, and you have already tried resetting / restarting the iPhone, at this point I would suggest doing a restore of the iPhone. See the directions in this article -

  • When sending email via hotmail on both iPhone and iPad, I receive message an error occurred while delivering this message

WHy all of a sudden, today, I can no longer send emails (via hotmail) from both iPhone 5s and ipad 2? I receive message that says "an error occurred while delivering this message".  I have no problem sending emails from PC.

    *** solved ***
You have to add another SMTP server as following steps:
Just go to hotmail acount setting
Then click on SMTP in outgoing mail server
    Then click add server
    Host name: smtp-mail.outlook.com
    User name: your email
    Password: your password
So now you can send mail
    Thanks

  • My iPhone only sends and receives messages from email

I am switching my iPhone 3GS formerly on AT&T to Straight Talk. I set up my phone, but the iMessage is acting up. I sign in to my Apple ID, and it has my number (grayed out) and my email as options to send and receive messages. When I go into settings > messages > send and receive, it only shows the email. This is very frustrating and I just want to figure it out. Any ideas?

It's because the phone number hasn't activated yet. This could be because the APN settings for Straight talk are not correct. It also can take up to 24 hours for the number to activate through the iMessage servers.

  • I bought an iPhone and returned it.  Now my current phone won't receive messages from iPhone users.  It believes it's sending it my old phone as an i-message. A true nightmare.  They says it's not their problem.  Worst customer service ever!

Really disappointed with Apple.  Terrible service!

To remove a phone number from an Apple ID, sign out of FaceTime and Messages on your iPhone:
Settings > Messages > Send & Receive. Tap your Apple ID, then tap Sign Out.
Settings > FaceTime. Tap your Apple ID, then tap Sign Out.
This should remove your phone number from other devices using the same Apple ID with FaceTime and Messages. If the phone number is still available on other devices after you sign out of FaceTime and iMessage on the iPhone, you may need to sign out of iMessage and FaceTime on all your devices, then sign in to FaceTime and Messages again on devices you want to use.
Note: If you no longer have access to the iPhone that is using the number you want to remove, reset your Apple IDpassword.

  • IPhone 4 occasionally not receiving messages from one iPhone 4s

My iPhone 4 Verizon 16 GB is occasionally not recieving messages from my friend's iPhone 4s Verizon 16GB occaisionally for no good reason that I can find.
I have HEAVY experience with iOS and many iDevices, so I can say that I know my way around an iPhone a bit, thats why this is really confusing me, I have tried doing a full factory reset of my iPhone and that didnt help either.
I don't pay for 3G since i use Page Plus Cellular, so when i leave WiFi it switches to text instead of iMessage, her iPhone is the only one that when she replies to my texts occaisionally I will not ever get them. it's getting very annoying once I haven't gotten a reply in a half hour to just send a text saying "resend" all the time... Any solutions would be greatly appreciated!

    HI Friend,
Try to unsign and sign in again.
For FaceTime and iMessage chosse to use your email address instead of your mobile number.
Go to Settings>>Message>>Send&Receive and set your email address.
If it is still not working, unsign your Apple ID and select your mobile number ("+" "country code" "mobile number").
Turn off Show Subject in Settings>>Message
Reset the Network Setting, which makes your phone to forget every networks and passwords that you connected your phone to.
to reset the Network Settings just go to Settings - General - Reset (at the bottom) - Reset Network Settings.
I remember when I reset the Network Settings, i turned off iMessages. I connected to my home Wi-Fi and surfed the web for a little while. Sent some regular SMS messages, and about 10min later, I turned on iMessages again and sent a text to a friend with an iPhone and it started working as iMessage! Baloons finally became blue.
Go to www.apple.com or Settings>>iCloud then access your Apple ID. There you can edit your information, placing your phone number and tap OK. then go to iMessage settings and mark your phone number to receive iMessages.
Also check in: Settings>>Message if you turned on iMessage before. Here, turn off "Show Subject Field".
Change your address for your currently location. If not works, change it for your native country.
Did you turn on iCloud as well?

  • My iPhone both sends and receives messages from 2 different phones. They are registered with the same iTunes account. What can I do to stop this?

My partner and I both have iPhone 5s and an iPad. We registered all three products with the same iTunes account as we download music and movies together. I have noticed when my partner sends me a message it also appears on my phone that I have sent it AND recieved it. The same goes for when I text him. I send the message to his phone and my phone also recieves it. Facetime does the same thing. Its very strange. Does any one know what I can do to stop this from happening?

To stop this, don't use the same Apple ID on both phones for iMessage and FaceTime.  (You can continue to use the same ID for iTunes; it doesn't need to be the same as the ID used for iMessage or FaceTime.)
On one of the phones, go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive, tap the ID, sign out, then sign back in with a different ID.  Then do the same thing in Settings>FaceTime.

  • IPhone 4s won't receive texts?

Ever since I got my iPhone last March, I've been having a problem receiving texts from certain phone numbers. However, the numbers that I cannot receive from will actually receive on my iPhone if that person sends a picture message. But it will not receive a normal text. The weird thing is, any number can usually, if not always receive texts that I have sent to them, but I cannot receive anything back. This is very annoying and I am planning on cutting Verizon services if it's not worked out. Does anyone have a solution to this? I have already tried the soft and hard reset, I've changed the message settings in the Settings menu and even took my phone to a Verizon store. They pretty much said that this was not a big enough issue for Verizon to care about, so they have done nothing about it. But I wanted to ask on here first before I did anything with my services to see if anyone had a solution. Thank you.

Lets show that iPhone who's boss! I'm sorry for the trouble this has caused, valveking09. We certainly want to see this resolved for you, and keep you a happy, loyal customer for years to come! If this is happening with a few specific contacts, it could be a routing issue. Can you confirm these individuals have your number listed as a 10 digit number, not 7 or 11 digits? If it is 7 or 11 digit, have them adjust to 10 digits. After, they will want to erase the entire text thread and start a new text message to you. This should then be received properly into our network and on your phone! If this continues, we can look into potential network roadblocks. Keep me posted!

  • Virgin Mobile iPhone 4 won't receive texts from any service but Sprint?

I bought a Virgin Mobile iPhone the other day and activated it and everything seems to work fine except for the fact I can't receive text messages. At first, I thought I couldn't receive any texts at all. Then I received a text from my sister, who is on the Boost Mobile network (which I believe runs on Sprint). I have called Virgin Mobile so many times over this issue and they have basically told me they don't know why it is doing this. Does anyone know why this could be happening or what I can do? And also, I bought the $55 unlimited everything plan.

Did you Find a solution ?

  • My iPhone 4s won't receive incoming calls or voicemails

Why won't my new iPhone 4s receive calls or voicemails?

Doubtful if anyone here can answer this question with any certainty.
Your new iPhone 4S is with ATT, Verizon, or Sprint?
Were you an existing subscriber with whichever carrier, or did you port a number from another carrier to a new carrier for your iPhone 4S?

  • TS2755 iPhone 4s won't delete messages!

I have an iPhone 4s, I noticed that I have 5GB worth of messages, I tried to delete them but my phone went all glitchy and in the end I had to turn my phone off and all the messages were still there once back on! Also I don't want to restore my phone I I for have too!

I recently spoke to someone from Apple support, and here's what I gathered:
"Older" phones (read: anything iPhone 4s or older?) sometimes have trouble keeping up with the processing demands of the newest software. When deleting threads with a lot of media (photos, videos, etc), it can take a lot of processing to successfully delete. What this support tech suggested was picking some of the bigger threads at night before you go to bed, deleting them, and then leaving the phone alone-- and plugged in-- overnight to give it enough time to delete everything. He suggested not even pressing the lock button; just leave it to process (though I imagine the screen will lock on its own anyway).
Not sure if it works yet since I just spoke to him, but it's the closest thing I've got to a solution!
